وَلَاAnd (do) notتُجَٰدِلُوٓا۟argueأَهْلَ(with the) People of the Bookٱلْكِتَٰبِ(with the) People of the Bookإِلَّاexceptبِٱلَّتِىby whichهِىَ[it]أَحْسَنُ(is) bestإِلَّاexceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوا۟(do) wrongمِنْهُمْamong themوَقُولُوٓا۟and sayءَامَنَّاWe believeبِٱلَّذِىٓin that (which)أُنزِلَhas been revealedإِلَيْنَاto usوَأُنزِلَand was revealedإِلَيْكُمْto youوَإِلَٰهُنَاAnd our Godوَإِلَٰهُكُمْand your Godوَٰحِدٌ(is) Oneوَنَحْنُand weلَهُۥto Himمُسْلِمُونَsubmit46
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusأَنزَلْنَآWe (have) revealedإِلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe BookفَٱلَّذِينَSo thoseءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُWe gave [them]ٱلْكِتَٰبَthe BookيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِهِۦthereinوَمِنْAnd amongهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseمَن(are some) whoيُؤْمِنُbelieveبِهِۦthereinوَمَاAnd noneيَجْحَدُrejectبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآOur Versesإِلَّاexceptٱلْكَٰفِرُونَthe disbelievers47
وَمَاAnd notكُنتَ(did) youتَتْلُوا۟reciteمِنbefore itقَبْلِهِۦbefore itمِنanyكِتَٰبٍBookوَلَاand notتَخُطُّهُۥ(did) you write itبِيَمِينِكَwith your right handإِذًاin that caseلَّٱرْتَابَsurely (would) have doubtedٱلْمُبْطِلُونَthe falsifiers48
بَلْNayهُوَitءَايَٰتٌۢ(is) Versesبَيِّنَٰتٌclearفِىinصُدُورِ(the) breastsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoأُوتُوا۟are givenٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledgeوَمَاAnd notيَجْحَدُrejectبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآOur Versesإِلَّاexceptٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoers49
وَقَالُوا۟And they sayلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَare sent downعَلَيْهِto himءَايَٰتٌ(the) Signsمِّنfromرَّبِّهِۦhis LordقُلْSayإِنَّمَاOnlyٱلْءَايَٰتُthe Signsعِندَ(are) withٱللَّهِAllahوَإِنَّمَآand onlyأَنَاI (am)نَذِيرٌa warnerمُّبِينٌclear50
أَوَلَمْAnd is (it) notيَكْفِهِمْsufficient for themأَنَّآthat Weأَنزَلْنَاrevealedعَلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookيُتْلَىٰ(which) is recitedعَلَيْهِمْto themإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَرَحْمَةًsurely is a mercyوَذِكْرَىٰand a reminderلِقَوْمٍfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believe51
قُلْSayكَفَىٰSufficient isبِٱللَّهِAllahبَيْنِىbetween meوَبَيْنَكُمْand between youشَهِيدًا(as) a WitnessيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeبِٱلْبَٰطِلِin [the] falsehoodوَكَفَرُوا۟and disbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseهُمُtheyٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ(are) the losers52
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَAnd they ask you to hastenبِٱلْعَذَابِ[with] the punishmentوَلَوْلَآAnd if notأَجَلٌ(for) a termمُّسَمًّىappointedلَّجَآءَهُمُsurely (would) have come to themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentوَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُمBut it will surely come to themبَغْتَةًsuddenlyوَهُمْwhile theyلَا(do) notيَشْعُرُونَperceive53
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَThey ask you to hastenبِٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentوَإِنَّAnd indeedجَهَنَّمَHellلَمُحِيطَةٌۢwill surely, encompassبِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers54
يَوْمَOn (the) Dayيَغْشَىٰهُمُwill cover themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentمِنfromفَوْقِهِمْabove themوَمِنand fromتَحْتِbelowأَرْجُلِهِمْtheir feetوَيَقُولُand He will sayذُوقُوا۟Tasteمَاwhatكُنتُمْyou usedتَعْمَلُونَ(to) do55
يَٰعِبَادِىَO My servantsٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believeإِنَّIndeedأَرْضِىMy earthوَٰسِعَةٌ(is) spaciousفَإِيَّٰىَso onlyفَٱعْبُدُونِworship Me56
كُلُّEveryنَفْسٍsoulذَآئِقَةُ(will) tasteٱلْمَوْتِthe deathثُمَّThenإِلَيْنَاto Usتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned57
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ[the] righteous deedsلَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمsurely We will give them a placeمِّنَinٱلْجَنَّةِParadiseغُرَفًاlofty dwellingsتَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversخَٰلِدِينَwill abide foreverفِيهَاin itنِعْمَExcellent isأَجْرُ(the) rewardٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ(of) the workers58
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoصَبَرُوا۟(are) patientوَعَلَىٰand uponرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَput their trust59
وَكَأَيِّنAnd how manyمِّنofدَآبَّةٍa creatureلَّا(does) notتَحْمِلُcarryرِزْقَهَاits provisionٱللَّهُAllahيَرْزُقُهَاprovides (for) itوَإِيَّاكُمْand (for) youوَهُوَAnd Heٱلسَّمِيعُ(is) the All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower60
وَلَئِنAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمyou ask themمَّنْWhoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَسَخَّرَand subjectedٱلشَّمْسَthe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonلَيَقُولُنَّSurely they would sayٱللَّهُAllahفَأَنَّىٰThen howيُؤْفَكُونَare they deluded61
ٱللَّهُAllahيَبْسُطُextendsٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsمِنْofعِبَادِهِۦHis slavesوَيَقْدِرُand restrictsلَهُۥٓfor himإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower62
وَلَئِنAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمyou ask themمَّنWhoنَّزَّلَsends downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَأَحْيَاand gives lifeبِهِtherebyٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the earthمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterمَوْتِهَاits deathلَيَقُولُنَّSurely, they would sayٱللَّهُAllahقُلِSayٱلْحَمْدُAll Praisesلِلَّهِ(are) for AllahبَلْButأَكْثَرُهُمْmost of themلَا(do) notيَعْقِلُونَuse reason63
وَمَاAnd notهَٰذِهِ(is) thisٱلْحَيَوٰةُlifeٱلدُّنْيَآ(of) the worldإِلَّاbutلَهْوٌamusementوَلَعِبٌand playوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلدَّارَthe Homeٱلْءَاخِرَةَ(of) the Hereafter لَهِىَsurely, itٱلْحَيَوَانُ(is) the lifeلَوْif onlyكَانُوا۟theyيَعْلَمُونَknow64
فَإِذَاAnd whenرَكِبُوا۟they embarkفِى[in]ٱلْفُلْكِthe shipدَعَوُا۟they callٱللَّهَAllahمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sincereلَهُto Himٱلدِّينَ(in) the religionفَلَمَّاBut whenنَجَّىٰهُمْHe delivers themإِلَىtoٱلْبَرِّthe landإِذَاbeholdهُمْtheyيُشْرِكُونَassociate partners (with Him)65
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟So that they may denyبِمَآ[in] whatءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْWe have given themوَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟and they may enjoy (themselves)فَسَوْفَBut soonيَعْلَمُونَthey will know66
أَوَلَمْDo notيَرَوْا۟they seeأَنَّاthat Weجَعَلْنَاhave madeحَرَمًاa Sanctuaryءَامِنًاsecureوَيُتَخَطَّفُwhile are being taken awayٱلنَّاسُthe peopleمِنْaround themحَوْلِهِمْaround themأَفَبِٱلْبَٰطِلِThen do in (the) falsehoodيُؤْمِنُونَthey believeوَبِنِعْمَةِand in (the) Favorٱللَّهِ(of) Allahيَكْفُرُونَthey disbelieve67
وَمَنْAnd whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنِthan (he) whoٱفْتَرَىٰinventsعَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieأَوْorكَذَّبَdeniesبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthلَمَّاwhenجَآءَهُۥٓit has come to himأَلَيْسَIs there notفِىinجَهَنَّمَHellمَثْوًىan abodeلِّلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelievers68
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoجَٰهَدُوا۟striveفِينَاfor UsلَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْWe will surely, guide themسُبُلَنَا(to) Our waysوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱللَّهَAllahلَمَعَsurely (is) withٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doers69

وَعْدَ(It is the) Promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَا(Does) notيُخْلِفُfailٱللَّهُAllahوَعْدَهُۥ(in) His promiseوَلَٰكِنَّbutأَكْثَرَmost (of)ٱلنَّاسِ[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow6
يَعْلَمُونَThey knowظَٰهِرًا(the) apparentمِّنَofٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَهُمْbut theyعَنِaboutٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterهُمْ[they]غَٰفِلُونَ(are) heedless7
أَوَلَمْDo notيَتَفَكَّرُوا۟they ponderفِىٓwithinأَنفُسِهِمthemselvesمَّاNotخَلَقَAllah (has) createdٱللَّهُAllah (has) createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whatبَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between themإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّin truthوَأَجَلٍand (for) a termمُّسَمًّىappointedوَإِنَّAnd indeedكَثِيرًاmanyمِّنَofٱلنَّاسِthe peopleبِلِقَآئِin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْ(with) their Lordلَكَٰفِرُونَsurely (are) disbelievers8
أَوَلَمْHave notيَسِيرُوا۟they traveledفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthفَيَنظُرُوا۟and observedكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلَّذِينَ(of) thoseمِنbefore themقَبْلِهِمْbefore themكَانُوٓا۟They wereأَشَدَّmightierمِنْهُمْthan themقُوَّةً(in) strengthوَأَثَارُوا۟and they dugٱلْأَرْضَthe earthوَعَمَرُوهَآand built (on) itأَكْثَرَmoreمِمَّاthan whatعَمَرُوهَاthey have built (on) itوَجَآءَتْهُمْAnd came (to) themرُسُلُهُمtheir Messengersبِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِwith clear proofsفَمَاSo notكَانَwasٱللَّهُAllahلِيَظْلِمَهُمْto wrong themوَلَٰكِنbutكَانُوٓا۟they wereأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَ(doing) wrong9
ثُمَّThenكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةَ(the) endٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoأَسَٰٓـُٔوا۟did evil ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓthe evilأَنbecauseكَذَّبُوا۟they deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِ(the) Signsٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَكَانُوا۟and wereبِهَاof themيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmaking mockery10
ٱللَّهُAllahيَبْدَؤُا۟originatesٱلْخَلْقَthe creationثُمَّthenيُعِيدُهُۥHe repeats itثُمَّthenإِلَيْهِto Himتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned11
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُwill (be) establishedٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourيُبْلِسُwill (be in) despairٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals12
وَلَمْAnd notيَكُنwill beلَّهُمfor themمِّنamongشُرَكَآئِهِمْtheirs partnersشُفَعَٰٓؤُا۟any intercessorsوَكَانُوا۟and they will beبِشُرَكَآئِهِمْin their partnersكَٰفِرِينَdisbelievers13
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُwill (be) establishedٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayيَتَفَرَّقُونَthey will become separated14
فَأَمَّاThen as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedوَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsفَهُمْso theyفِىinرَوْضَةٍa Gardenيُحْبَرُونَwill be delighted15
وَأَمَّاBut as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedوَكَذَّبُوا۟and deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Signsوَلِقَآئِand (the) meetingٱلْءَاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseفِىinٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) brought forth16
فَسُبْحَٰنَSo glory be toٱللَّهِAllahحِينَwhenتُمْسُونَyou reach the eveningوَحِينَand whenتُصْبِحُونَyou reach the morning17
وَلَهُAnd for Himٱلْحَمْدُ(are) all praisesفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَعَشِيًّاand (at) nightوَحِينَand whenتُظْهِرُونَyou are at noon18
يُخْرِجُHe brings forthٱلْحَىَّthe livingمِنَfromٱلْمَيِّتِthe deadوَيُخْرِجُand He brings forthٱلْمَيِّتَthe deadمِنَfromٱلْحَىِّthe livingوَيُحْىِand He gives lifeٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the earthبَعْدَafterمَوْتِهَاits deathوَكَذَٰلِكَand thusتُخْرَجُونَyou will be brought forth19
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦٓHis Signsأَنْ(is) thatخَلَقَكُمHe created youمِّنfromتُرَابٍdustثُمَّthenإِذَآbeholdأَنتُمYouبَشَرٌ(are) human beingsتَنتَشِرُونَdispersing20
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦٓHis Signsأَنْ(is) thatخَلَقَHe createdلَكُمfor youمِّنْfromأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesأَزْوَٰجًاmatesلِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟that you may find tranquilityإِلَيْهَاin themوَجَعَلَand He placedبَيْنَكُمbetween youمَّوَدَّةًloveوَرَحْمَةًand mercyإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَwho reflect21
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦHis Signsخَلْقُ(is the) creationٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَٱخْتِلَٰفُand the diversityأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ(of) your languagesوَأَلْوَٰنِكُمْand your colorsإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّلْعَٰلِمِينَfor those of knowledge22
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦHis Signsمَنَامُكُم(is) your sleepبِٱلَّيْلِby nightوَٱلنَّهَارِand the dayوَٱبْتِغَآؤُكُم[and] your seekingمِّنofفَضْلِهِۦٓHis BountyإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَسْمَعُونَwho listen23
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦHis SignsيُرِيكُمُHe shows youٱلْبَرْقَthe lightningخَوْفًا(causing) fearوَطَمَعًاand hopeوَيُنَزِّلُand He sends downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَيُحْىِۦand gives lifeبِهِtherewithٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the earthبَعْدَafterمَوْتِهَآits deathإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَwho use intellect24
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦٓHis Signsأَن(is) thatتَقُومَstandsٱلسَّمَآءُthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضُand the earthبِأَمْرِهِۦby His CommandثُمَّThenإِذَاwhenدَعَاكُمْHe calls youدَعْوَةً(with) a callمِّنَfromٱلْأَرْضِthe earthإِذَآbeholdأَنتُمْYouتَخْرُجُونَwill come forth25
وَلَهُۥAnd to Him (belongs)مَنwhoeverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthكُلٌّAllلَّهُۥto Himقَٰنِتُونَ(are) obedient26
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيَبْدَؤُا۟originatesٱلْخَلْقَthe creationثُمَّthenيُعِيدُهُۥrepeats itوَهُوَand itأَهْوَنُ(is) easierعَلَيْهِfor HimوَلَهُAnd for Himٱلْمَثَلُ(is) the descriptionٱلْأَعْلَىٰthe highestفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise27
ضَرَبَHe sets forthلَكُمto youمَّثَلًاan exampleمِّنْfromأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesهَلIsلَّكُمfor youمِّنamongمَّاwhatمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُكُمyour right handsمِّنanyشُرَكَآءَpartnersفِىinمَاwhatرَزَقْنَٰكُمْWe have provided youفَأَنتُمْso youفِيهِin itسَوَآءٌ(are) equalتَخَافُونَهُمْyou fear themكَخِيفَتِكُمْas you fearأَنفُسَكُمْyourselvesكَذَٰلِكَThusنُفَصِّلُWe explainٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Versesلِقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَ(who) use reason28
بَلِNayٱتَّبَعَfollowٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوٓا۟do wrongأَهْوَآءَهُمtheir desiresبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeفَمَنThen whoيَهْدِى(can) guideمَنْ(one) whomأَضَلَّAllah has let go astrayٱللَّهُAllah has let go astrayوَمَاAnd notلَهُمfor themمِّنanyنَّٰصِرِينَhelpers29
فَأَقِمْSo setوَجْهَكَyour faceلِلدِّينِto the religionحَنِيفًاuprightفِطْرَتَNatureٱللَّهِ(made by) Allahٱلَّتِى(upon) whichفَطَرَHe has createdٱلنَّاسَmankindعَلَيْهَا[on it]لَاNoتَبْدِيلَchangeلِخَلْقِ(should there be) in the creationٱللَّهِ(of) AllahذَٰلِكَThatٱلدِّينُ(is) the religionٱلْقَيِّمُthe correctوَلَٰكِنَّbutأَكْثَرَmostٱلنَّاسِmenلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow30
مُنِيبِينَTurningإِلَيْهِto Himوَٱتَّقُوهُand fear Himوَأَقِيمُوا۟and establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَلَاand (do) notتَكُونُوا۟beمِنَofٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists31
مِنَOfٱلَّذِينَthose whoفَرَّقُوا۟divideدِينَهُمْtheir religionوَكَانُوا۟and becomeشِيَعًاsectsكُلُّeachحِزْبٍۢpartyبِمَاin whatلَدَيْهِمْthey haveفَرِحُونَrejoicing32
وَإِذَاAnd whenمَسَّtouchesٱلنَّاسَpeopleضُرٌّhardshipدَعَوْا۟they callرَبَّهُمtheir Lordمُّنِيبِينَturningإِلَيْهِto HimثُمَّThenإِذَآwhenأَذَاقَهُمHe causes them to tasteمِّنْهُfrom HimرَحْمَةًMercyإِذَاbeholdفَرِيقٌA partyمِّنْهُمof themبِرَبِّهِمْwith their Lordيُشْرِكُونَassociate partners33
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟So as to denyبِمَآ[in] whatءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْWe have granted themفَتَمَتَّعُوا۟Then enjoyفَسَوْفَbut soonتَعْلَمُونَyou will know34
أَمْOrأَنزَلْنَاhave We sentعَلَيْهِمْto themسُلْطَٰنًاan authorityفَهُوَand itيَتَكَلَّمُspeaksبِمَاof whatكَانُوا۟they wereبِهِۦwith Himيُشْرِكُونَassociating35
وَإِذَآAnd whenأَذَقْنَاWe cause people to tasteٱلنَّاسَWe cause people to tasteرَحْمَةًmercyفَرِحُوا۟they rejoiceبِهَاthereinوَإِنBut ifتُصِبْهُمْafflicts themسَيِّئَةٌۢan evilبِمَاfor whatقَدَّمَتْhave sent forthأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsإِذَاbeholdهُمْTheyيَقْنَطُونَdespair36
أَوَلَمْDo notيَرَوْا۟they seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahيَبْسُطُextendsٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَقْدِرُand straitens (it)إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believe37
فَـَٔاتِSo giveذَاthe relativeٱلْقُرْبَىٰthe relativeحَقَّهُۥhis rightوَٱلْمِسْكِينَand the poorوَٱبْنَand the wayfarerٱلسَّبِيلِand the wayfarerذَٰلِكَThatخَيْرٌ(is) bestلِّلَّذِينَfor those whoيُرِيدُونَdesireوَجْهَ(the) Countenanceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَAnd thoseهُمُtheyٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ(are) the successful ones38
وَمَآAnd whatءَاتَيْتُمyou giveمِّنforرِّبًاusuryلِّيَرْبُوَا۟to increaseفِىٓinأَمْوَٰلِ(the) wealthٱلنَّاسِ(of) peopleفَلَاnotيَرْبُوا۟(will) increaseعِندَwithٱللَّهِAllahوَمَآBut whatءَاتَيْتُمyou giveمِّنofزَكَوٰةٍzakahتُرِيدُونَdesiringوَجْهَ(the) Countenanceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ(will) get manifold39
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمْcreated youثُمَّthenرَزَقَكُمْHe provided (for) youثُمَّthenيُمِيتُكُمْHe will cause you to dieثُمَّthenيُحْيِيكُمْHe will give you lifeهَلْIs (there)مِنanyشُرَكَآئِكُم(of) your partnersمَّنwhoيَفْعَلُdoesمِنofذَٰلِكُمthatمِّنanyشَىْءٍthingسُبْحَٰنَهُۥGlory be to Himوَتَعَٰلَىٰand exalted is Heعَمَّاabove whatيُشْرِكُونَthey associate40
ظَهَرَHas appearedٱلْفَسَادُthe corruptionفِىinٱلْبَرِّthe landوَٱلْبَحْرِand the seaبِمَاfor whatكَسَبَتْhave earnedأَيْدِى(the) handsٱلنَّاسِ(of) peopleلِيُذِيقَهُمso that He may let them tasteبَعْضَa partٱلَّذِى(of) that whichعَمِلُوا۟they have doneلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَreturn41
قُلْSayسِيرُوا۟Travelفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthفَٱنظُرُوا۟and seeكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoمِن(were) beforeقَبْلُ(were) beforeكَانَMost of them wereأَكْثَرُهُمMost of them wereمُّشْرِكِينَpolytheists42
فَأَقِمْSo setوَجْهَكَyour faceلِلدِّينِto the religionٱلْقَيِّمِrightمِنbeforeقَبْلِbeforeأَن[that]يَأْتِىَcomesيَوْمٌa Dayلَّاnotمَرَدَّ(can be) avertedلَهُۥ[it]مِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahيَوْمَئِذٍThat Dayيَصَّدَّعُونَthey will be divided43
مَنWhoeverكَفَرَdisbelievesفَعَلَيْهِthen against himكُفْرُهُۥ(is) his disbeliefوَمَنْAnd whoeverعَمِلَdoesصَٰلِحًاrighteousnessفَلِأَنفُسِهِمْthen for themselvesيَمْهَدُونَthey are preparing44
لِيَجْزِىَThat He may rewardٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsمِن(out) ofفَضْلِهِۦٓHis BountyإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّlikeٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers45
وَمِنْAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِۦٓHis Signsأَن(is) thatيُرْسِلَHe sendsٱلرِّيَاحَthe windsمُبَشِّرَٰتٍ(as) bearers of glad tidingsوَلِيُذِيقَكُمand to let you tasteمِّنofرَّحْمَتِهِۦHis Mercyوَلِتَجْرِىَand that may sailٱلْفُلْكُthe shipsبِأَمْرِهِۦat His Commandوَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟and that you may seekمِنofفَضْلِهِۦHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَbe grateful46
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنbefore youقَبْلِكَbefore youرُسُلًاMessengersإِلَىٰtoقَوْمِهِمْtheir peopleفَجَآءُوهُمand they came to themبِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِwith clear proofsفَٱنتَقَمْنَاthen We took retributionمِنَfromٱلَّذِينَthose whoأَجْرَمُوا۟committed crimesوَكَانَAnd it wasحَقًّاincumbentعَلَيْنَاupon Usنَصْرُ(to) helpٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers47
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُرْسِلُsendsٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windsفَتُثِيرُso they raiseسَحَابًا(the) cloudsفَيَبْسُطُهُۥthen He spreads themفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyكَيْفَhowيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَجْعَلُهُۥand He makes themكِسَفًاfragmentsفَتَرَىso you seeٱلْوَدْقَthe rainيَخْرُجُcoming forthمِنْfromخِلَٰلِهِۦtheir midstفَإِذَآThen whenأَصَابَHe causes it to fall onبِهِۦHe causes it to fall onمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsمِنْofعِبَادِهِۦٓHis slavesإِذَاbeholdهُمْTheyيَسْتَبْشِرُونَrejoice48
وَإِنAnd certainlyكَانُوا۟they wereمِنbeforeقَبْلِbeforeأَن[that]يُنَزَّلَit was sent downعَلَيْهِمupon themمِّن[before it]قَبْلِهِۦ[before it]لَمُبْلِسِينَsurely in despair49
فَٱنظُرْSo lookإِلَىٰٓatءَاثَٰرِ(the) effectsرَحْمَتِ(of the) Mercyٱللَّهِ(of) AllahكَيْفَhowيُحْىِHe gives lifeٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the earthبَعْدَafterمَوْتِهَآits deathإِنَّIndeedذَٰلِكَthatلَمُحْىِsurely He (will) give lifeٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadوَهُوَAnd Heعَلَىٰ(is) onكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌAll-Powerful50
وَلَئِنْBut ifأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentرِيحًاa windفَرَأَوْهُand they see itمُصْفَرًّاturn yellowلَّظَلُّوا۟certainly they continueمِنۢafter itبَعْدِهِۦafter itيَكْفُرُونَ(in) disbelief51
فَإِنَّكَSo indeed, youلَا(can) notتُسْمِعُmake the dead hearٱلْمَوْتَىٰmake the dead hearوَلَاand notتُسْمِعُmake the deaf hearٱلصُّمَّmake the deaf hearٱلدُّعَآءَthe callإِذَاwhenوَلَّوْا۟they turnمُدْبِرِينَretreating52
وَمَآAnd notأَنتَyouبِهَٰدِcan guideٱلْعُمْىِthe blindعَنfromضَلَٰلَتِهِمْtheir errorإِنNotتُسْمِعُyou can make hearإِلَّاexceptمَن(those) whoيُؤْمِنُbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاin Our Versesفَهُمso theyمُّسْلِمُونَsurrender53
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمcreated youمِّنfromضَعْفٍweaknessثُمَّthenجَعَلَmadeمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterضَعْفٍweaknessقُوَّةًstrengthثُمَّthenجَعَلَmadeمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterقُوَّةٍstrengthضَعْفًاweaknessوَشَيْبَةًand gray hairيَخْلُقُHe createsمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe willsوَهُوَand Heٱلْعَلِيمُ(is) the All-Knowerٱلْقَدِيرُthe All-Powerful54
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُwill (be) establishedٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourيُقْسِمُwill swearٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminalsمَاnotلَبِثُوا۟they remainedغَيْرَbutسَاعَةٍan hourكَذَٰلِكَThusكَانُوا۟they wereيُؤْفَكُونَdeluded55
وَقَالَBut will sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledgeوَٱلْإِيمَٰنَand the faithلَقَدْVerilyلَبِثْتُمْyou remainedفِىbyكِتَٰبِ(the) Decreeٱللَّهِ(of) Allahإِلَىٰuntilيَوْمِ(the) Dayٱلْبَعْثِ(of) ResurrectionفَهَٰذَاAnd thisيَوْمُ(is the) Dayٱلْبَعْثِ(of) the Resurrectionوَلَٰكِنَّكُمْbut youكُنتُمْwereلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَknowing56
فَيَوْمَئِذٍSo that Dayلَّاnotيَنفَعُwill profitٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوا۟wrongedمَعْذِرَتُهُمْtheir excusesوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيُسْتَعْتَبُونَwill be allowed to make amends57
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyضَرَبْنَاWe (have) set forthلِلنَّاسِfor mankindفِىinهَٰذَاthis ٱلْقُرْءَانِ[the] QuranمِنofكُلِّeveryمَثَلٍexampleوَلَئِنBut ifجِئْتَهُمyou bring themبِـَٔايَةٍa signلَّيَقُولَنَّsurely will sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieveإِنْNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) exceptمُبْطِلُونَfalsifiers58
كَذَٰلِكَThusيَطْبَعُAllah sealsٱللَّهُAllah sealsعَلَىٰ[on]قُلُوبِ(the) heartsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow59
فَٱصْبِرْSo be patientإِنَّIndeedوَعْدَ(the) Promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahحَقٌّ(is) trueوَلَاAnd (let) notيَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَtake you in light estimationٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(are) notيُوقِنُونَcertain in faith60

وَمِنَAnd ofٱلنَّاسِthe mankindمَن(is he) whoيَشْتَرِىpurchasesلَهْوَidle talesٱلْحَدِيثِidle talesلِيُضِلَّto misleadعَنfromسَبِيلِ(the) pathٱللَّهِ(of) Allahبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeوَيَتَّخِذَهَاand takes itهُزُوًا(in) ridiculeأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentمُّهِينٌhumiliating6
وَإِذَاAnd whenتُتْلَىٰare recitedعَلَيْهِto himءَايَٰتُنَاOur Versesوَلَّىٰhe turns awayمُسْتَكْبِرًاarrogantlyكَأَنas ifلَّمْnotيَسْمَعْهَاhe (had) heard themكَأَنَّas ifفِىٓinأُذُنَيْهِhis earsوَقْرًا(is) deafnessفَبَشِّرْهُSo give him tidingsبِعَذَابٍof a punishmentأَلِيمٍpainful7
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsلَهُمْfor themجَنَّٰتُ(are) Gardensٱلنَّعِيمِ(of) Delight8
خَٰلِدِينَ(To) abide foreverفِيهَاin itوَعْدَ(The) Promise of Allahٱللَّهِ(The) Promise of Allahحَقًّا(is) trueوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise9
خَلَقَHe createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensبِغَيْرِwithoutعَمَدٍpillarsتَرَوْنَهَاthat you seeوَأَلْقَىٰand has castفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthرَوَٰسِىَfirm mountainsأَنlestتَمِيدَit (might) shakeبِكُمْwith youوَبَثَّand He dispersedفِيهَاin itمِنfromكُلِّeveryدَآبَّةٍcreatureوَأَنزَلْنَاAnd We sent downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَأَنۢبَتْنَاthen We caused to growفِيهَاthereinمِنofكُلِّeveryزَوْجٍkindكَرِيمٍnoble10
هَٰذَاThisخَلْقُ(is the) creationٱللَّهِ(of) AllahفَأَرُونِىSo show Meمَاذَاwhatخَلَقَhave createdٱلَّذِينَthoseمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦbesides HimبَلِNayٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersفِى(are) inضَلَٰلٍerrorمُّبِينٍclear11
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveلُقْمَٰنَLuqmanٱلْحِكْمَةَthe wisdomأَنِthatٱشْكُرْBe gratefulلِلَّهِto AllahوَمَنAnd whoeverيَشْكُرْ(is) gratefulفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyيَشْكُرُhe is gratefulلِنَفْسِهِۦfor himselfوَمَنAnd whoeverكَفَرَ(is) ungratefulفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahغَنِىٌّ(is) Free of needحَمِيدٌPraiseworthy12
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidلُقْمَٰنُLuqmanلِٱبْنِهِۦto his sonوَهُوَwhile heيَعِظُهُۥ(was) instructing himيَٰبُنَىَّO my sonلَا(Do) notتُشْرِكْassociate partnersبِٱللَّهِwith AllahإِنَّIndeedٱلشِّرْكَassociating partnersلَظُلْمٌ(is) surely an injusticeعَظِيمٌgreat13
وَوَصَّيْنَاAnd We have enjoinedٱلْإِنسَٰنَ(upon) manبِوَٰلِدَيْهِfor his parents حَمَلَتْهُcarried himأُمُّهُۥhis motherوَهْنًا(in) weaknessعَلَىٰuponوَهْنٍweaknessوَفِصَٰلُهُۥand his weaningفِى(is) inعَامَيْنِtwo yearsأَنِthatٱشْكُرْBe gratefulلِىto Meوَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَand to your parentsإِلَىَّtowards Meٱلْمَصِيرُ(is) the destination14
وَإِنBut ifجَٰهَدَاكَthey strive against youعَلَىٰٓonأَنthatتُشْرِكَyou associate partnersبِىwith Meمَاwhatلَيْسَnotلَكَyou haveبِهِۦof itعِلْمٌany knowledgeفَلَاthen (do) notتُطِعْهُمَاobey both of themوَصَاحِبْهُمَاBut accompany themفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldمَعْرُوفًا(with) kindnessوَٱتَّبِعْand followسَبِيلَ(the) pathمَنْ(of him) whoأَنَابَturnsإِلَىَّto MeثُمَّThenإِلَىَّtowards Meمَرْجِعُكُمْ(is) your returnفَأُنَبِّئُكُمthen I will inform youبِمَاof whatكُنتُمْyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَdo15
يَٰبُنَىَّO my sonإِنَّهَآIndeed itإِنifتَكُit beمِثْقَالَ(the) weightحَبَّةٍ(of) a grainمِّنْofخَرْدَلٍa mustard seedفَتَكُنand it beفِىinصَخْرَةٍa rockأَوْorفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensأَوْorفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthيَأْتِAllah will bring it forthبِهَاAllah will bring it forthٱللَّهُAllah will bring it forthإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَطِيفٌ(is) All-SubtleخَبِيرٌAll-Aware16
يَٰبُنَىَّO my sonأَقِمِEstablishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَأْمُرْand enjoinبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ[with] the rightوَٱنْهَand forbidعَنِfromٱلْمُنكَرِthe wrongوَٱصْبِرْand be patientعَلَىٰoverمَآwhatأَصَابَكَbefalls youإِنَّIndeedذَٰلِكَthatمِنْ(is) ofعَزْمِthe matters requiring determinationٱلْأُمُورِthe matters requiring determination17
وَلَاAnd (do) notتُصَعِّرْturnخَدَّكَyour cheekلِلنَّاسِfrom menوَلَاand (do) notتَمْشِwalkفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمَرَحًاexultantlyإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّlikeكُلَّeveryمُخْتَالٍself-conceitedفَخُورٍboaster18
وَٱقْصِدْAnd be moderateفِىinمَشْيِكَyour paceوَٱغْضُضْand lowerمِن[of]صَوْتِكَyour voiceإِنَّIndeedأَنكَرَ(the) harshestٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ(of all) soundsلَصَوْتُ(is) surely (the) voiceٱلْحَمِيرِ(of) the donkeys19
أَلَمْDo notتَرَوْا۟you seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahسَخَّرَhas subjectedلَكُمto youمَّاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَأَسْبَغَand amply bestowedعَلَيْكُمْupon youنِعَمَهُۥHis Bountiesظَٰهِرَةًapparentوَبَاطِنَةًand hiddenوَمِنَBut ofٱلنَّاسِthe peopleمَن(is he) whoيُجَٰدِلُdisputesفِىaboutٱللَّهِAllahبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeوَلَاand notهُدًىguidanceوَلَاand notكِتَٰبٍa bookمُّنِيرٍenlightening20
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themٱتَّبِعُوا۟FollowمَآwhatأَنزَلَAllah (has) revealedٱللَّهُAllah (has) revealedقَالُوا۟they sayبَلْNayنَتَّبِعُwe will followمَاwhatوَجَدْنَاwe foundعَلَيْهِon itءَابَآءَنَآour forefathersأَوَلَوْEven ifكَانَShaitaan wasٱلشَّيْطَٰنُShaitaan wasيَدْعُوهُمْ(to) call themإِلَىٰtoعَذَابِ(the) punishmentٱلسَّعِيرِ(of) the Blaze21
وَمَنAnd whoeverيُسْلِمْsubmitsوَجْهَهُۥٓhis faceإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَهُوَwhile heمُحْسِنٌ(is) a good-doerفَقَدِthen indeedٱسْتَمْسَكَhe has graspedبِٱلْعُرْوَةِthe handholdٱلْوُثْقَىٰthe most trustworthyوَإِلَىAnd toٱللَّهِAllahعَٰقِبَةُ(is the) endٱلْأُمُورِ(of) the matters22
وَمَنAnd whoeverكَفَرَdisbelievesفَلَاlet notيَحْزُنكَgrieve youكُفْرُهُۥٓhis disbeliefإِلَيْنَاTo Usمَرْجِعُهُمْ(is) their returnفَنُنَبِّئُهُمthen We will inform themبِمَاof whatعَمِلُوٓا۟they didإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلِيمٌۢ(is) the All-Knowerبِذَاتِof whatٱلصُّدُورِ(is in) the breasts23
نُمَتِّعُهُمْWe grant them enjoymentقَلِيلًا(for) a littleثُمَّthenنَضْطَرُّهُمْWe will force themإِلَىٰtoعَذَابٍa punishmentغَلِيظٍsevere24
وَلَئِنAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمyou ask themمَّنْWhoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّThey will surely sayٱللَّهُAllahقُلِSayٱلْحَمْدُAll praisesلِلَّهِ(are) for AllahبَلْButأَكْثَرُهُمْmost of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow25
لِلَّهِTo Allah (belongs)مَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahهُوَHeٱلْغَنِىُّ(is) Free of needٱلْحَمِيدُthe Praiseworthy26
وَلَوْAnd ifأَنَّمَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمِنofشَجَرَةٍ(the) treesأَقْلَٰمٌ(were) pensوَٱلْبَحْرُand the seaيَمُدُّهُۥ(to) add to itمِنۢafter itبَعْدِهِۦafter itسَبْعَةُsevenأَبْحُرٍseasمَّاnotنَفِدَتْwould be exhaustedكَلِمَٰتُ(the) Wordsٱللَّهِ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَزِيزٌ(is) All-MightyحَكِيمٌAll-Wise27
مَّاNotخَلْقُكُمْ(is) your creationوَلَاand notبَعْثُكُمْyour resurrectionإِلَّاbutكَنَفْسٍas a soulوَٰحِدَةٍsingleإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahسَمِيعٌۢ(is) All-HearerبَصِيرٌAll-Seer28
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahيُولِجُcauses to enterٱلَّيْلَthe nightفِىintoٱلنَّهَارِthe dayوَيُولِجُand causes to enterٱلنَّهَارَthe dayفِىintoٱلَّيْلِthe nightوَسَخَّرَand has subjectedٱلشَّمْسَthe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonكُلٌّeachيَجْرِىٓmovingإِلَىٰٓforأَجَلٍa termمُّسَمًّىappointedوَأَنَّand thatٱللَّهَAllahبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرٌ(is) All-Aware29
ذَٰلِكَThatبِأَنَّ(is) becauseٱللَّهَAllahهُوَHeٱلْحَقُّ(is) the Truthوَأَنَّand thatمَاwhatيَدْعُونَthey callمِنbesides Himدُونِهِbesides Himٱلْبَٰطِلُ(is) [the] falsehoodوَأَنَّand thatٱللَّهَAllahهُوَHeٱلْعَلِىُّ(is) the Most Highٱلْكَبِيرُthe Most Great30
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱلْفُلْكَthe shipsتَجْرِىsailفِىthroughٱلْبَحْرِthe seaبِنِعْمَتِby (the) Graceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلِيُرِيَكُمthat He may show youمِّنْofءَايَٰتِهِۦٓHis SignsإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّكُلِّfor everyoneصَبَّارٍ(who is) patientشَكُورٍgrateful31
وَإِذَاAnd whenغَشِيَهُمcovers themمَّوْجٌa waveكَٱلظُّلَلِlike canopiesدَعَوُا۟they callٱللَّهَAllahمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sincereلَهُto Himٱلدِّينَ(in) religionفَلَمَّاBut whenنَجَّىٰهُمْHe delivers themإِلَىtoٱلْبَرِّthe landفَمِنْهُمthen among themمُّقْتَصِدٌ(some are) moderateوَمَاAnd notيَجْحَدُdenyبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآOur Signsإِلَّاexceptكُلُّeveryخَتَّارٍtraitorكَفُورٍungrateful32
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُmankindٱتَّقُوا۟Fearرَبَّكُمْyour Lordوَٱخْشَوْا۟and fearيَوْمًاa Dayلَّاnotيَجْزِىcan availوَالِدٌa fatherعَن[for]وَلَدِهِۦhis sonوَلَاand notمَوْلُودٌa sonهُوَheجَازٍ(can) availعَن[for]وَالِدِهِۦhis fatherشَيْـًٔاanythingإِنَّIndeedوَعْدَ(the) Promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahحَقٌّ(is) Trueفَلَاso let not deceive youتَغُرَّنَّكُمُso let not deceive youٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَلَاand let not deceive youيَغُرَّنَّكُمand let not deceive youبِٱللَّهِabout Allahٱلْغَرُورُthe deceiver33
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعِندَهُۥwith Himعِلْمُ(is the) knowledgeٱلسَّاعَةِ(of) the Hourوَيُنَزِّلُand He sends downٱلْغَيْثَthe rainوَيَعْلَمُand knowsمَاwhatفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْحَامِthe wombsوَمَاAnd notتَدْرِىknowsنَفْسٌany soulمَّاذَاwhatتَكْسِبُit will earnغَدًاtomorrowوَمَاand notتَدْرِىknowsنَفْسٌۢany soulبِأَىِّin whatأَرْضٍlandتَمُوتُit will dieإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلِيمٌ(is) All-KnowerخَبِيرٌۢAll-Aware34

تَنزِيلُ(The) revelationٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookلَا(there is) noرَيْبَdoubtفِيهِabout itمِنfromرَّبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds2
أَمْOrيَقُولُونَ(do) they sayٱفْتَرَىٰهُHe invented itبَلْNayهُوَitٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truthمِنfromرَّبِّكَyour Lordلِتُنذِرَthat you may warnقَوْمًاa peopleمَّآnotأَتَىٰهُمhas come to themمِّنanyنَّذِيرٍwarnerمِّنbefore youقَبْلِكَbefore youلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَهْتَدُونَbe guided3
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَا(is) between themفِىinسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍperiodsثُمَّThenٱسْتَوَىٰestablished Himselfعَلَىonٱلْعَرْشِthe ThroneمَاNotلَكُمfor youمِّنbesides Himدُونِهِۦbesides Himمِنanyوَلِىٍّprotectorوَلَاand notشَفِيعٍany intercessorأَفَلَاThen will notتَتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heed4
يُدَبِّرُHe regulatesٱلْأَمْرَthe affairمِنَofٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenإِلَىtoٱلْأَرْضِthe earthثُمَّthenيَعْرُجُit will ascendإِلَيْهِto Himفِىinيَوْمٍa Dayكَانَ(the) measure of which isمِقْدَارُهُۥٓ(the) measure of which isأَلْفَa thousandسَنَةٍyearsمِّمَّاof whatتَعُدُّونَyou count5
ذَٰلِكَThatعَٰلِمُ(is the) Knowerٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the hiddenوَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِand the witnessedٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful6
ٱلَّذِىٓThe One Whoأَحْسَنَmade goodكُلَّeveryشَىْءٍthingخَلَقَهُۥHe createdوَبَدَأَand He beganخَلْقَ(the) creationٱلْإِنسَٰنِ(of) manمِنfromطِينٍclay7
ثُمَّThenجَعَلَHe madeنَسْلَهُۥhis progenyمِنfromسُلَٰلَةٍan extractمِّنofمَّآءٍwaterمَّهِينٍdespised8
ثُمَّThenسَوَّىٰهُHe fashioned himوَنَفَخَand breathedفِيهِinto himمِنfromرُّوحِهِۦHis spiritوَجَعَلَand madeلَكُمُfor youٱلسَّمْعَthe hearingوَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَand the sightوَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَand feelingsقَلِيلًاlittleمَّا[what]تَشْكُرُونَthanks you give9
وَقَالُوٓا۟And they sayأَءِذَاIs (it) whenضَلَلْنَاwe are lostفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthأَءِنَّاwill weلَفِىcertainly be inخَلْقٍa creationجَدِيدٍۢnewبَلْNayهُمtheyبِلِقَآءِin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordكَٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers10
قُلْSayيَتَوَفَّىٰكُمWill take your soulمَّلَكُ(the) Angelٱلْمَوْتِ(of) the deathٱلَّذِىthe one whoوُكِّلَhas been put in chargeبِكُمْof youثُمَّThenإِلَىٰtoرَبِّكُمْyour Lordتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned11
وَلَوْAnd ifتَرَىٰٓyou (could) seeإِذِwhenٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminalsنَاكِسُوا۟(will) hangرُءُوسِهِمْtheir headsعِندَbeforeرَبِّهِمْtheir LordرَبَّنَآOur Lordأَبْصَرْنَاwe have seenوَسَمِعْنَاand we have heardفَٱرْجِعْنَاso return usنَعْمَلْwe will doصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)إِنَّاIndeed, weمُوقِنُونَ(are now) certain12
وَلَوْAnd ifشِئْنَاWe (had) willedلَءَاتَيْنَاsurely We (would) have givenكُلَّeveryنَفْسٍsoulهُدَىٰهَاits guidanceوَلَٰكِنْbutحَقَّ(is) trueٱلْقَوْلُthe Wordمِنِّىfrom Meلَأَمْلَأَنَّthat I will surely fillجَهَنَّمَHellمِنَwithٱلْجِنَّةِthe jinnوَٱلنَّاسِand the menأَجْمَعِينَtogether13
فَذُوقُوا۟So tasteبِمَاbecauseنَسِيتُمْyou forgotلِقَآءَ(the) meetingيَوْمِكُمْ(of) this Day of yoursهَٰذَآ(of) this Day of yoursإِنَّاIndeed, Weنَسِينَٰكُمْhave forgotten youوَذُوقُوا۟And tasteعَذَابَ(the) punishmentٱلْخُلْدِ(of) eternityبِمَاfor whatكُنتُمْyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَdo14
إِنَّمَاOnlyيُؤْمِنُbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاin Our Versesٱلَّذِينَthose whoإِذَاwhenذُكِّرُوا۟they are remindedبِهَاof themخَرُّوا۟fall downسُجَّدًاprostratingوَسَبَّحُوا۟and glorifyبِحَمْدِ(the) praisesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordوَهُمْand theyلَاare not arrogantيَسْتَكْبِرُونَare not arrogant15
تَتَجَافَىٰForsakeجُنُوبُهُمْtheir sidesعَنِfromٱلْمَضَاجِعِ(their) bedsيَدْعُونَthey callرَبَّهُمْtheir Lordخَوْفًا(in) fearوَطَمَعًاand hopeوَمِمَّاand out of whatرَزَقْنَٰهُمْWe have provided themيُنفِقُونَthey spend16
فَلَاAnd notتَعْلَمُknowsنَفْسٌa soulمَّآwhatأُخْفِىَis hiddenلَهُمfor themمِّنofقُرَّةِ(the) comfortأَعْيُنٍ(for) the eyesجَزَآءًۢ(as) a rewardبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used (to)يَعْمَلُونَdo17
أَفَمَنThen is one whoكَانَisمُؤْمِنًاa believerكَمَنlike (him) whoكَانَisفَاسِقًاdefiantly disobedientلَّاNotيَسْتَوُۥنَthey are equal18
أَمَّاAs forٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsفَلَهُمْthen for themجَنَّٰتُ(are) Gardensٱلْمَأْوَىٰ(of) Refugeنُزُلًۢا(as) hospitalityبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used (to)يَعْمَلُونَdo19
وَأَمَّاBut as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoفَسَقُوا۟are defiantly disobedientفَمَأْوَىٰهُمُthen their refugeٱلنَّارُ(is) the FireكُلَّمَآEvery timeأَرَادُوٓا۟they wishأَنtoيَخْرُجُوا۟come outمِنْهَآfrom itأُعِيدُوا۟they (will) be returnedفِيهَاin itوَقِيلَand it (will) be saidلَهُمْto themذُوقُوا۟Tasteعَذَابَ(the) punishmentٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireٱلَّذِىwhichكُنتُمyou used (to)بِهِۦ[in it]تُكَذِّبُونَdeny20
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمAnd surely, We will let them tasteمِّنَofٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentٱلْأَدْنَىٰthe nearerدُونَbeforeٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentٱلْأَكْبَرِthe greaterلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَreturn21
وَمَنْAnd whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنthan (he) whoذُكِّرَis remindedبِـَٔايَٰتِof (the) Versesرَبِّهِۦ(of) his Lordثُمَّthenأَعْرَضَhe turns awayعَنْهَآfrom themإِنَّاIndeed, Weمِنَfromٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsمُنتَقِمُونَ(will) take retribution22
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Scriptureفَلَاso (do) notتَكُنbeفِىinمِرْيَةٍdoubtمِّنaboutلِّقَآئِهِۦreceiving itوَجَعَلْنَٰهُAnd We made itهُدًىa guideلِّبَنِىٓfor the Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَfor the Children of Israel23
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeمِنْهُمْfrom themأَئِمَّةًleadersيَهْدُونَguidingبِأَمْرِنَاby Our Commandلَمَّاwhenصَبَرُوا۟they were patientوَكَانُوا۟and they wereبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاof Our Versesيُوقِنُونَcertain24
إِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour Lordهُوَ[He]يَفْصِلُwill judgeبَيْنَهُمْbetween themيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) Resurrectionفِيمَاin whatكَانُوا۟they used (to)فِيهِ[in it]يَخْتَلِفُونَdiffer25
أَوَلَمْDoes it notيَهْدِguideلَهُمْ[for] themكَمْ(that) how manyأَهْلَكْنَاWe have destroyedمِنbefore themقَبْلِهِمbefore themمِّنَofٱلْقُرُونِthe generationsيَمْشُونَthey walk aboutفِىinمَسَٰكِنِهِمْtheir dwellingsإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely, are SignsأَفَلَاThen do notيَسْمَعُونَthey hear26
أَوَلَمْDo notيَرَوْا۟they seeأَنَّاthat Weنَسُوقُdriveٱلْمَآءَwaterإِلَىtoٱلْأَرْضِthe landٱلْجُرُزِ[the] barrenفَنُخْرِجُthen We bring forthبِهِۦtherebyزَرْعًاcropsتَأْكُلُeatمِنْهُfrom itأَنْعَٰمُهُمْtheir cattleوَأَنفُسُهُمْand they themselvesأَفَلَاThen do notيُبْصِرُونَthey see27
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayمَتَىٰWhen (will be)هَٰذَاthisٱلْفَتْحُdecisionإِنifكُنتُمْyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful28
قُلْSayيَوْمَ(On the) Dayٱلْفَتْحِ(of) the Decisionلَاnotيَنفَعُwill benefitٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieveإِيمَٰنُهُمْtheir beliefوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيُنظَرُونَwill be granted respite29
فَأَعْرِضْSo turn awayعَنْهُمْfrom themوَٱنتَظِرْand waitإِنَّهُمIndeed, theyمُّنتَظِرُونَ(are) waiting30

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetٱلنَّبِىُّO ProphetٱتَّقِFearٱللَّهَAllahوَلَاand (do) notتُطِعِobeyٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَand the hypocritesإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerحَكِيمًاAll-Wise1
وَٱتَّبِعْAnd followمَاwhatيُوحَىٰٓis inspiredإِلَيْكَto youمِنfromرَّبِّكَyour LordإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرًاAll-Aware2
وَتَوَكَّلْAnd put your trustعَلَىinٱللَّهِAllahوَكَفَىٰAnd Allah is sufficientبِٱللَّهِAnd Allah is sufficientوَكِيلًا(as) Disposer of affairs3
مَّاNotجَعَلَAllah (has) madeٱللَّهُAllah (has) madeلِرَجُلٍfor any manمِّن[of]قَلْبَيْنِtwo heartsفِىinجَوْفِهِۦhis interiorوَمَاAnd notجَعَلَHe (has) madeأَزْوَٰجَكُمُyour wivesٱلَّٰٓـِٔىwhomتُظَٰهِرُونَyou declare unlawfulمِنْهُنَّ[of them]أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ(as) your mothersوَمَاAnd notجَعَلَHe has madeأَدْعِيَآءَكُمْyour adopted sonsأَبْنَآءَكُمْyour sonsذَٰلِكُمْThatقَوْلُكُم(is) your sayingبِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْby your mouthsوَٱللَّهُbut Allahيَقُولُsaysٱلْحَقَّthe truthوَهُوَand Heيَهْدِىguidesٱلسَّبِيلَ(to) the Way4
ٱدْعُوهُمْCall themلِءَابَآئِهِمْby their fathersهُوَitأَقْسَطُ(is) more justعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahفَإِنBut ifلَّمْnotتَعْلَمُوٓا۟you knowءَابَآءَهُمْtheir fathers فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْthen (they are) your brothersفِىinٱلدِّينِ[the] religionوَمَوَٰلِيكُمْand your friendsوَلَيْسَBut not isعَلَيْكُمْupon youجُنَاحٌany blameفِيمَآin whatأَخْطَأْتُمyou made a mistakeبِهِۦin itوَلَٰكِنbutمَّاwhatتَعَمَّدَتْintendedقُلُوبُكُمْyour heartsوَكَانَAnd AllahٱللَّهُAnd Allahغَفُورًا(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful5
ٱلنَّبِىُّThe Prophetأَوْلَىٰ(is) closerبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believersمِنْthanأَنفُسِهِمْtheir own selvesوَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓand his wivesأُمَّهَٰتُهُمْ(are) their mothersوَأُو۟لُوا۟And possessorsٱلْأَرْحَامِ(of) relationshipsبَعْضُهُمْsome of themأَوْلَىٰ(are) closerبِبَعْضٍto anotherفِىinكِتَٰبِ(the) Decreeٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمِنَthanٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersوَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَand the emigrantsإِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَفْعَلُوٓا۟you doإِلَىٰٓtoأَوْلِيَآئِكُمyour friendsمَّعْرُوفًاa kindnessكَانَThat isذَٰلِكَThat isفِىinٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookمَسْطُورًاwritten6
وَإِذْAnd whenأَخَذْنَاWe tookمِنَfromٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَthe Prophetsمِيثَٰقَهُمْtheir Covenantوَمِنكَand from youوَمِنand fromنُّوحٍNuhوَإِبْرَٰهِيمَand Ibrahimوَمُوسَىٰand Musaوَعِيسَىand Isaٱبْنِsonمَرْيَمَ(of) MaryamوَأَخَذْنَاAnd We tookمِنْهُمfrom themمِّيثَٰقًاa covenantغَلِيظًاstrong7
لِّيَسْـَٔلَThat He may askٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthfulعَنaboutصِدْقِهِمْtheir truthوَأَعَدَّAnd He has preparedلِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversعَذَابًاa punishmentأَلِيمًاpainful8
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believeٱذْكُرُوا۟Rememberنِعْمَةَ(the) Favorٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youإِذْwhenجَآءَتْكُمْcame to youجُنُودٌ(the) hostsفَأَرْسَلْنَاand We sentعَلَيْهِمْupon themرِيحًاa windوَجُنُودًاand hostsلَّمْnotتَرَوْهَاyou (could) see themوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doبَصِيرًاAll-Seer9
إِذْWhenجَآءُوكُمthey came upon youمِّنfromفَوْقِكُمْabove youوَمِنْand fromأَسْفَلَbelowمِنكُمْyouوَإِذْand whenزَاغَتِgrew wildٱلْأَبْصَٰرُthe eyesوَبَلَغَتِand reachedٱلْقُلُوبُthe heartsٱلْحَنَاجِرَthe throatsوَتَظُنُّونَand you assumedبِٱللَّهِabout Allahٱلظُّنُونَاthe assumptions10
هُنَالِكَThere ٱبْتُلِىَwere triedٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersوَزُلْزِلُوا۟and shakenزِلْزَالًا(with a) shakeشَدِيدًاsevere11
وَإِذْAnd whenيَقُولُsaidٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَthe hypocritesوَٱلَّذِينَand thoseفِىinقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsمَّرَضٌ(was) a diseaseمَّاNotوَعَدَنَاAllah promised usٱللَّهُAllah promised usوَرَسُولُهُۥٓand His messengerإِلَّاexceptغُرُورًاdelusion12
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَتsaidطَّآئِفَةٌa partyمِّنْهُمْof themيَٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleيَثْرِبَ(of) YathribلَاNoمُقَامَstandلَكُمْfor youفَٱرْجِعُوا۟so returnوَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُAnd asked permissionفَرِيقٌa groupمِّنْهُمُof themٱلنَّبِىَّ(from) the ProphetيَقُولُونَsayingإِنَّIndeedبُيُوتَنَاour housesعَوْرَةٌ(are) exposedوَمَاand notهِىَtheyبِعَوْرَةٍ(were) exposedإِنNotيُرِيدُونَthey wishedإِلَّاbutفِرَارًاto flee13
وَلَوْAnd ifدُخِلَتْhad been enteredعَلَيْهِمupon themمِّنْfromأَقْطَارِهَاall its sidesثُمَّthenسُئِلُوا۟they had been askedٱلْفِتْنَةَthe treacheryلَءَاتَوْهَاthey (would) have certainly done itوَمَاand notتَلَبَّثُوا۟they (would) have hesitatedبِهَآover itإِلَّاexceptيَسِيرًاa little14
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyكَانُوا۟they hadعَٰهَدُوا۟promisedٱللَّهَAllahمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeلَاnotيُوَلُّونَthey would turnٱلْأَدْبَٰرَtheir backsوَكَانَAnd isعَهْدُ(the) promiseٱللَّهِ(to) Allahمَسْـُٔولًاto be questioned15
قُلSayلَّنNeverيَنفَعَكُمُwill benefit youٱلْفِرَارُthe fleeingإِنifفَرَرْتُمyou fleeمِّنَfromٱلْمَوْتِdeathأَوِorٱلْقَتْلِkillingوَإِذًاand thenلَّاnotتُمَتَّعُونَyou will be allowed to enjoyإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa little16
قُلْSayمَنWhoذَا(is) it thatٱلَّذِى(is) it thatيَعْصِمُكُم(can) protect youمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahإِنْIfأَرَادَHe intendsبِكُمْfor youسُوٓءًاany harmأَوْorأَرَادَHe intendsبِكُمْfor youرَحْمَةًa mercyوَلَاAnd notيَجِدُونَthey will findلَهُمfor themمِّنbesidesدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahوَلِيًّاany protectorوَلَاand notنَصِيرًاany helper17
قَدْVerilyيَعْلَمُAllah knowsٱللَّهُAllah knowsٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَthose who hinderمِنكُمْamong youوَٱلْقَآئِلِينَand those who sayلِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْto their brothersهَلُمَّComeإِلَيْنَاto usوَلَاand notيَأْتُونَthey comeٱلْبَأْسَ(to) the battleإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa few18
أَشِحَّةًMiserlyعَلَيْكُمْtowards youفَإِذَاBut whenجَآءَcomesٱلْخَوْفُthe fearرَأَيْتَهُمْyou see themيَنظُرُونَlookingإِلَيْكَat youتَدُورُrevolvingأَعْيُنُهُمْtheir eyesكَٱلَّذِىlike one whoيُغْشَىٰfaintsعَلَيْهِfaintsمِنَfromٱلْمَوْتِ[the] deathفَإِذَاBut whenذَهَبَdepartsٱلْخَوْفُthe fearسَلَقُوكُمthey smite youبِأَلْسِنَةٍwith tonguesحِدَادٍsharpأَشِحَّةًmiserlyعَلَىtowardsٱلْخَيْرِthe goodأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose لَمْnotيُؤْمِنُوا۟they have believedفَأَحْبَطَso Allah made worthlessٱللَّهُso Allah made worthlessأَعْمَٰلَهُمْtheir deedsوَكَانَAnd isذَٰلِكَthatعَلَىforٱللَّهِAllahيَسِيرًاeasy19
يَحْسَبُونَThey thinkٱلْأَحْزَابَthe confederatesلَمْ(have) notيَذْهَبُوا۟withdrawnوَإِنAnd ifيَأْتِ(should) comeٱلْأَحْزَابُthe confederatesيَوَدُّوا۟they would wishلَوْifأَنَّهُمthat they (were)بَادُونَliving in (the) desertفِىamongٱلْأَعْرَابِthe Bedouinsيَسْـَٔلُونَaskingعَنْaboutأَنۢبَآئِكُمْyour newsوَلَوْAnd ifكَانُوا۟they wereفِيكُمamong youمَّاnotقَٰتَلُوٓا۟they would fightإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa little20
لَّقَدْCertainlyكَانَisلَكُمْfor youفِىinرَسُولِ(the) Messengerٱللَّهِ(of) Allahأُسْوَةٌan excellent exampleحَسَنَةٌan excellent exampleلِّمَنfor (one) whoكَانَhasيَرْجُوا۟hopeٱللَّهَ(in) Allahوَٱلْيَوْمَand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرَthe Lastوَذَكَرَand remembersٱللَّهَAllahكَثِيرًاmuch21
وَلَمَّاAnd whenرَءَاsawٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersٱلْأَحْزَابَthe confederatesقَالُوا۟they saidهَٰذَاThisمَا(is) whatوَعَدَنَاAllah promised usٱللَّهُAllah promised usوَرَسُولُهُۥand His Messengerوَصَدَقَand Allah spoke the truthٱللَّهُand Allah spoke the truthوَرَسُولُهُۥand His MessengerوَمَاAnd notزَادَهُمْit increased themإِلَّآexceptإِيمَٰنًا(in) faithوَتَسْلِيمًاand submission22
مِّنَAmongٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersرِجَالٌ(are) menصَدَقُوا۟(who) have been trueمَا(to) whatعَٰهَدُوا۟they promised Allahٱللَّهَthey promised Allahعَلَيْهِ[on it]فَمِنْهُمAnd among themمَّن(is he) whoقَضَىٰhas fulfilledنَحْبَهُۥhis vowوَمِنْهُمand among themمَّن(is he) whoيَنتَظِرُawaitsوَمَاAnd notبَدَّلُوا۟they alterتَبْدِيلًا(by) any alteration 23
لِّيَجْزِىَThat Allah may rewardٱللَّهُThat Allah may rewardٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthfulبِصِدْقِهِمْfor their truthوَيُعَذِّبَand punishٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesإِنifشَآءَHe willsأَوْorيَتُوبَturn in mercyعَلَيْهِمْto themإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful24
وَرَدَّAnd Allah turned backٱللَّهُAnd Allah turned backٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedبِغَيْظِهِمْin their rageلَمْnotيَنَالُوا۟they obtainedخَيْرًاany goodوَكَفَىAnd sufficient isٱللَّهُAllahٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(for) the believersٱلْقِتَالَ(in) the battleوَكَانَand Allah isٱللَّهُand Allah isقَوِيًّاAll-StrongعَزِيزًاAll-Mighty25
وَأَنزَلَAnd He brought downٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَٰهَرُوهُمbacked themمِّنْamongأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Scriptureمِنfromصَيَاصِيهِمْtheir fortressesوَقَذَفَand castفِىintoقُلُوبِهِمُtheir heartsٱلرُّعْبَ[the] terrorفَرِيقًاa groupتَقْتُلُونَyou killedوَتَأْسِرُونَand you took captiveفَرِيقًاa group26
وَأَوْرَثَكُمْAnd He caused you to inheritأَرْضَهُمْtheir landوَدِيَٰرَهُمْand their housesوَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْand their propertiesوَأَرْضًاand a landلَّمْnotتَطَـُٔوهَاyou (had) troddenوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isعَلَىٰonكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرًاAll-Powerful27
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetٱلنَّبِىُّO ProphetقُلSayلِّأَزْوَٰجِكَto your wivesإِنIfكُنتُنَّyouتُرِدْنَdesireٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَزِينَتَهَاand its adornmentفَتَعَالَيْنَthen comeأُمَتِّعْكُنَّI will provide for youوَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّand release youسَرَاحًا(with) a releaseجَمِيلًاgood28
وَإِنBut ifكُنتُنَّyouتُرِدْنَdesireٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerوَٱلدَّارَand the Homeٱلْءَاخِرَةَ(of) the Hereafterفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahأَعَدَّhas preparedلِلْمُحْسِنَٰتِfor the good-doersمِنكُنَّamong youأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاgreat29
يَٰنِسَآءَO wivesٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the ProphetمَنWhoeverيَأْتِcommitsمِنكُنَّfrom youبِفَٰحِشَةٍimmoralityمُّبَيِّنَةٍclearيُضَٰعَفْwill be doubledلَهَاfor herٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentضِعْفَيْنِtwo foldوَكَانَAnd that isذَٰلِكَAnd that isعَلَىforٱللَّهِAllahيَسِيرًاeasy30
