وَمَنAnd whoeverيَقْنُتْis obedientمِنكُنَّamong youلِلَّهِto Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerوَتَعْمَلْand doesصَٰلِحًاrighteousnessنُّؤْتِهَآWe will give herأَجْرَهَاher rewardمَرَّتَيْنِtwiceوَأَعْتَدْنَاand We have preparedلَهَاfor herرِزْقًاa provisionكَرِيمًاnoble31
يَٰنِسَآءَO wivesٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the ProphetلَسْتُنَّYou are notكَأَحَدٍlike anyoneمِّنَamongٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenإِنِIfٱتَّقَيْتُنَّyou fear (Allah)فَلَاthen (do) notتَخْضَعْنَbe softبِٱلْقَوْلِin speechفَيَطْمَعَlest should be moved with desireٱلَّذِىhe whoفِىinقَلْبِهِۦhis heartمَرَضٌ(is) a diseaseوَقُلْنَbut sayقَوْلًاa wordمَّعْرُوفًاappropriate32
وَقَرْنَAnd stayفِىinبُيُوتِكُنَّyour housesوَلَاand (do) notتَبَرَّجْنَdisplay yourselvesتَبَرُّجَ(as was the) displayٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ(of the times of) ignoranceٱلْأُولَىٰthe formerوَأَقِمْنَAnd establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتِينَand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahوَأَطِعْنَand obeyٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥٓand His MessengerإِنَّمَاOnlyيُرِيدُAllah wishesٱللَّهُAllah wishesلِيُذْهِبَto removeعَنكُمُfrom youٱلرِّجْسَthe impurityأَهْلَ(O) Peopleٱلْبَيْتِ(of) the HouseوَيُطَهِّرَكُمْAnd to purify youتَطْهِيرًا(with thorough) purification33
وَٱذْكُرْنَAnd rememberمَاwhatيُتْلَىٰis recitedفِىinبُيُوتِكُنَّyour housesمِنْofءَايَٰتِ(the) Versesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَٱلْحِكْمَةِand the wisdomإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisلَطِيفًاAll-SubtleخَبِيرًاAll-Aware34
إِنَّIndeedٱلْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslim menوَٱلْمُسْلِمَٰتِand the Muslim womenوَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَand the believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِand the believing womenوَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَand the obedient menوَٱلْقَٰنِتَٰتِand the obedient womenوَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَand the truthful menوَٱلصَّٰدِقَٰتِand the truthful womenوَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَand the patient menوَٱلصَّٰبِرَٰتِand the patient womenوَٱلْخَٰشِعِينَand the humble menوَٱلْخَٰشِعَٰتِand the humble womenوَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَand the men who give charityوَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِand the women who give charityوَٱلصَّٰٓئِمِينَand the men who fastوَٱلصَّٰٓئِمَٰتِand the women who fastوَٱلْحَٰفِظِينَand the men who guardفُرُوجَهُمْtheir chastityوَٱلْحَٰفِظَٰتِand the women who guard (it)وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَand the men who rememberٱللَّهَAllahكَثِيرًاmuchوَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِand the women who rememberأَعَدَّAllah has preparedٱللَّهُAllah has preparedلَهُمfor themمَّغْفِرَةًforgivenessوَأَجْرًاand a rewardعَظِيمًاgreat35
وَمَاAnd notكَانَ(it) isلِمُؤْمِنٍfor a believing manوَلَاand notمُؤْمِنَةٍ(for) a believing womanإِذَاwhenقَضَىAllah has decidedٱللَّهُAllah has decidedوَرَسُولُهُۥٓand His Messengerأَمْرًاa matterأَنthatيَكُونَ(there) should beلَهُمُfor themٱلْخِيَرَةُ(any) choiceمِنْaboutأَمْرِهِمْtheir affairوَمَنAnd whoeverيَعْصِdisobeysٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerفَقَدْcertainlyضَلَّhe (has) strayedضَلَٰلًا(into) errorمُّبِينًاclear36
وَإِذْAnd whenتَقُولُyou saidلِلَّذِىٓto the oneأَنْعَمَAllah bestowed favorٱللَّهُAllah bestowed favorعَلَيْهِon himوَأَنْعَمْتَand you bestowed favorعَلَيْهِon himأَمْسِكْKeepعَلَيْكَto yourselfزَوْجَكَyour wifeوَٱتَّقِand fearٱللَّهَAllahوَتُخْفِىBut you concealedفِىwithinنَفْسِكَyourselfمَاwhatٱللَّهُAllahمُبْدِيهِ(was to) discloseوَتَخْشَىAnd you fearٱلنَّاسَthe peopleوَٱللَّهُwhile Allahأَحَقُّhas more rightأَنthatتَخْشَىٰهُyou (should) fear HimفَلَمَّاSo whenقَضَىٰendedزَيْدٌZaidمِّنْهَاfrom herوَطَرًاnecessary (formalities)زَوَّجْنَٰكَهَاWe married her to youلِكَىْso thatلَاnotيَكُونَthere beعَلَىonٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersحَرَجٌany discomfortفِىٓconcerningأَزْوَٰجِthe wivesأَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ(of) their adopted sonsإِذَاwhenقَضَوْا۟they have endedمِنْهُنَّfrom themوَطَرًاnecessary (formalities)وَكَانَAnd isأَمْرُ(the) Commandٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمَفْعُولًاaccomplished37
مَّاNotكَانَ(there can) beعَلَىuponٱلنَّبِىِّthe Prophetمِنْanyحَرَجٍdiscomfortفِيمَاin whatفَرَضَAllah has imposedٱللَّهُAllah has imposedلَهُۥon himسُنَّةَ(That is the) Wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفِىconcerningٱلَّذِينَthose whoخَلَوْا۟passed awayمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeوَكَانَAnd isأَمْرُ(the) Commandٱللَّهِ(of) Allahقَدَرًاa decreeمَّقْدُورًاdestined38
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُبَلِّغُونَconveyرِسَٰلَٰتِ(the) Messagesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥand fear Himوَلَاand (do) notيَخْشَوْنَfearأَحَدًاanyoneإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهَAllahوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient is AllahبِٱللَّهِAnd sufficient is Allahحَسِيبًا(as) a Reckoner39
مَّاNotكَانَisمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadأَبَآ(the) fatherأَحَدٍ(of) anyoneمِّنofرِّجَالِكُمْyour menوَلَٰكِنbutرَّسُولَ(he is the) Messengerٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَخَاتَمَand Sealٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ(of) the ProphetsوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمًاAll-Knower40
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeٱذْكُرُوا۟RememberٱللَّهَAllahذِكْرًا(with) remembranceكَثِيرًاmuch41
هُوَHeٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُصَلِّىsends His blessingsعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَمَلَٰٓئِكَتُهُۥand His Angelsلِيُخْرِجَكُمso that He may bring you outمِّنَfromٱلظُّلُمَٰتِthe darkness[es]إِلَىtoٱلنُّورِthe lightوَكَانَAnd He isبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believersرَحِيمًاMerciful43
تَحِيَّتُهُمْTheir greetingsيَوْمَ(on the) Dayيَلْقَوْنَهُۥthey will meet Himسَلَٰمٌ(will be), "Peaceوَأَعَدَّand He has preparedلَهُمْfor themأَجْرًاa rewardكَرِيمًاnoble44
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetٱلنَّبِىُّO ProphetإِنَّآIndeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَٰكَhave sent youشَٰهِدًا(as) a witnessوَمُبَشِّرًاand a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاand (as) a warner45
وَدَاعِيًاAnd as one who invitesإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahبِإِذْنِهِۦby His permissionوَسِرَاجًاand (as) a lampمُّنِيرًاilluminating46
وَبَشِّرِAnd give glad tidingsٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(to) the believersبِأَنَّthatلَهُمfor themمِّنَ(is) fromٱللَّهِAllahفَضْلًاa Bountyكَبِيرًاgreat47
وَلَاAnd (do) notتُطِعِobeyٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَand the hypocritesوَدَعْand disregardأَذَىٰهُمْtheir harmوَتَوَكَّلْand put your trustعَلَىinٱللَّهِAllahوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient is AllahبِٱللَّهِAnd sufficient is Allahوَكِيلًا(as) a Trustee48
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟O you who believeإِذَاWhenنَكَحْتُمُyou marryٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِbelieving womenثُمَّand thenطَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّdivorce themمِنbeforeقَبْلِbeforeأَن[that]تَمَسُّوهُنَّyou have touched themفَمَاthen notلَكُمْfor youعَلَيْهِنَّon themمِنْanyعِدَّةٍwaiting periodتَعْتَدُّونَهَا(to) count concerning themفَمَتِّعُوهُنَّSo provide for themوَسَرِّحُوهُنَّand release themسَرَاحًا(with) a releaseجَمِيلًاgood49
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetٱلنَّبِىُّO ProphetإِنَّآIndeed, Weأَحْلَلْنَا[We] have made lawfulلَكَto youأَزْوَٰجَكَyour wivesٱلَّٰتِىٓ(to) whomءَاتَيْتَyou have givenأُجُورَهُنَّtheir bridal moneyوَمَاand whomمَلَكَتْyou rightfully possessيَمِينُكَyou rightfully possessمِمَّآfrom those (whom)أَفَآءَAllah has givenٱللَّهُAllah has givenعَلَيْكَto youوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughtersعَمِّكَ(of) your paternal unclesوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughtersعَمَّٰتِكَ(of) your paternal auntsوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughtersخَالِكَ(of) your maternal unclesوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughtersخَٰلَٰتِكَ(of) your maternal auntsٱلَّٰتِىwhoهَاجَرْنَemigratedمَعَكَwith youوَٱمْرَأَةًand a womanمُّؤْمِنَةًbelievingإِنifوَهَبَتْshe givesنَفْسَهَاherselfلِلنَّبِىِّto the Prophetإِنْifأَرَادَwishesٱلنَّبِىُّthe Prophetأَنtoيَسْتَنكِحَهَاmarry her خَالِصَةًonlyلَّكَfor youمِنexcludingدُونِexcludingٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersقَدْCertainlyعَلِمْنَاWe knowمَاwhatفَرَضْنَاWe have made obligatoryعَلَيْهِمْupon themفِىٓconcerningأَزْوَٰجِهِمْtheir wivesوَمَاand whomمَلَكَتْthey rightfully possessأَيْمَٰنُهُمْthey rightfully possessلِكَيْلَاthat notيَكُونَshould beعَلَيْكَon youحَرَجٌany discomfortوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful50
تُرْجِىYou may deferمَنwhomتَشَآءُyou willمِنْهُنَّof themوَتُـْٔوِىٓor you may takeإِلَيْكَto yourselfمَنwhomتَشَآءُyou willوَمَنِAnd whoeverٱبْتَغَيْتَyou desireمِمَّنْof those whomعَزَلْتَyou (had) set aside فَلَاthen (there is) noجُنَاحَblameعَلَيْكَupon youذَٰلِكَThatأَدْنَىٰٓ(is) more suitableأَنthatتَقَرَّmay be cooledأَعْيُنُهُنَّtheir eyesوَلَاand notيَحْزَنَّthey grieveوَيَرْضَيْنَand they may be pleasedبِمَآwith whatءَاتَيْتَهُنَّyou have given them كُلُّهُنَّall of themوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَعْلَمُknowsمَاwhatفِى(is) inقُلُوبِكُمْyour heartsوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerحَلِيمًاMost Forbearing51
لَّا(It is) notيَحِلُّlawfulلَكَfor youٱلنِّسَآءُ(to marry) womenمِنۢafter (this)بَعْدُafter (this)وَلَآand notأَنtoتَبَدَّلَexchangeبِهِنَّthemمِنْforأَزْوَٰجٍ(other) wivesوَلَوْeven ifأَعْجَبَكَpleases youحُسْنُهُنَّtheir beautyإِلَّاexceptمَاwhomمَلَكَتْyou rightfully possessيَمِينُكَyou rightfully possessوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isعَلَىٰoverكُلِّallشَىْءٍthingsرَّقِيبًاan Observer52
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeلَا(Do) notتَدْخُلُوا۟enterبُيُوتَ(the) housesٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the Prophetإِلَّآexceptأَنwhenيُؤْذَنَpermission is givenلَكُمْto youإِلَىٰforطَعَامٍa mealغَيْرَwithoutنَٰظِرِينَawaitingإِنَىٰهُits preparationوَلَٰكِنْButإِذَاwhenدُعِيتُمْyou are invitedفَٱدْخُلُوا۟then enterفَإِذَاand whenطَعِمْتُمْyou have eatenفَٱنتَشِرُوا۟then disperseوَلَاand notمُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَseeking to remainلِحَدِيثٍfor a conversationإِنَّIndeedذَٰلِكُمْthatكَانَwasيُؤْذِىtroublingٱلنَّبِىَّthe Prophetفَيَسْتَحْىِۦand he is shyمِنكُمْof (dismissing) youوَٱللَّهُBut Allahلَاis not shyيَسْتَحْىِۦis not shyمِنَofٱلْحَقِّthe truthوَإِذَاAnd whenسَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّyou ask themمَتَٰعًا(for) anythingفَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّthen ask themمِنfromوَرَآءِbehindحِجَابٍa screenذَٰلِكُمْThatأَطْهَرُ(is) purerلِقُلُوبِكُمْfor your heartsوَقُلُوبِهِنَّand their heartsوَمَاAnd notكَانَisلَكُمْfor youأَنthatتُؤْذُوا۟you troubleرَسُولَ(the) Messengerٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَلَآand notأَنthatتَنكِحُوٓا۟you should marryأَزْوَٰجَهُۥhis wivesمِنۢafter himبَعْدِهِۦٓafter himأَبَدًاeverإِنَّIndeedذَٰلِكُمْthatكَانَisعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahعَظِيمًاan enormity53
إِنWhetherتُبْدُوا۟you revealشَيْـًٔاa thingأَوْorتُخْفُوهُconceal itفَإِنَّindeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِكُلِّof allشَىْءٍthingsعَلِيمًاAll-Knower54
لَّا(There is) noجُنَاحَblameعَلَيْهِنَّupon themفِىٓconcerningءَابَآئِهِنَّtheir fathersوَلَآand notأَبْنَآئِهِنَّtheir sonsوَلَآand notإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّtheir brothersوَلَآand notأَبْنَآءِsonsإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ(of) their brothersوَلَآand notأَبْنَآءِsonsأَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ(of) their sistersوَلَاand notنِسَآئِهِنَّtheir womenوَلَاand notمَاwhatمَلَكَتْthey rightfully possessأَيْمَٰنُهُنَّthey rightfully possessوَٱتَّقِينَAnd fearٱللَّهَAllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلَىٰoverكُلِّallشَىْءٍthingsشَهِيدًاa Witness55
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahوَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥand His Angelsيُصَلُّونَsend blessingsعَلَىuponٱلنَّبِىِّthe ProphetيَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeصَلُّوا۟Send blessingsعَلَيْهِon himوَسَلِّمُوا۟and greet himتَسْلِيمًا(with) greetings56
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُؤْذُونَannoyٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥand His MessengerلَعَنَهُمُAllah has cursed themٱللَّهُAllah has cursed themفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the Hereafterوَأَعَدَّand preparedلَهُمْfor themعَذَابًاa punishmentمُّهِينًاhumiliating57
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيُؤْذُونَharmٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِand the believing womenبِغَيْرِfor other thanمَاwhatٱكْتَسَبُوا۟they have earnedفَقَدِthen certainlyٱحْتَمَلُوا۟they bearبُهْتَٰنًاfalse accusationوَإِثْمًاand sinمُّبِينًاmanifest58
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetٱلنَّبِىُّO ProphetقُلSayلِّأَزْوَٰجِكَto your wivesوَبَنَاتِكَand your daughtersوَنِسَآءِand (the) womenٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believersيُدْنِينَto drawعَلَيْهِنَّover themselvesمِن[of]جَلَٰبِيبِهِنَّtheir outer garmentsذَٰلِكَThatأَدْنَىٰٓ(is) more suitableأَنthatيُعْرَفْنَthey should be knownفَلَاand notيُؤْذَيْنَharmedوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful59
لَّئِنIfلَّمْ(do) notيَنتَهِceaseٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَthe hypocritesوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoفِىinقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsمَّرَضٌ(is) a diseaseوَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَand those who spread rumorsفِىinٱلْمَدِينَةِthe cityلَنُغْرِيَنَّكَWe will let you overpower themبِهِمْWe will let you overpower themثُمَّthenلَاnotيُجَاوِرُونَكَthey will remain your neighborsفِيهَآthereinإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًا(for) a little60
مَّلْعُونِينَAccursedأَيْنَمَاwhereverثُقِفُوٓا۟they are foundأُخِذُوا۟they are seizedوَقُتِّلُوا۟and massacred completelyتَقْتِيلًاand massacred completely61
سُنَّةَ(Such is the) Wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفِىwithٱلَّذِينَthose whoخَلَوْا۟passed awayمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeوَلَنand neverتَجِدَyou will findلِسُنَّةِin (the) Wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahتَبْدِيلًاany change62
يَسْـَٔلُكَAsk youٱلنَّاسُthe peopleعَنِaboutٱلسَّاعَةِthe HourقُلْSayإِنَّمَاOnlyعِلْمُهَاits knowledgeعِندَ(is) withٱللَّهِAllahوَمَاAnd whatيُدْرِيكَwill make you knowلَعَلَّPerhapsٱلسَّاعَةَthe Hourتَكُونُisقَرِيبًاnear63
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَعَنَhas cursedٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَأَعَدَّand has preparedلَهُمْfor themسَعِيرًاa Blaze64
خَٰلِدِينَAbidingفِيهَآthereinأَبَدًاforeverلَّاnotيَجِدُونَthey will findوَلِيًّاany protectorوَلَاand notنَصِيرًاany helper65
يَوْمَ(The) Dayتُقَلَّبُwill be turned aboutوُجُوهُهُمْtheir facesفِىinٱلنَّارِthe Fireيَقُولُونَthey will sayيَٰلَيْتَنَآO we wishأَطَعْنَاwe (had) obeyedٱللَّهَAllahوَأَطَعْنَاand obeyedٱلرَّسُولَاthe Messenger66
وَقَالُوا۟And they will sayرَبَّنَآOur LordإِنَّآIndeed, weأَطَعْنَا[we] obeyedسَادَتَنَاour chiefsوَكُبَرَآءَنَاand our great menفَأَضَلُّونَاand they misled usٱلسَّبِيلَا(from) the Way67
رَبَّنَآOur LordءَاتِهِمْGive themضِعْفَيْنِdoubleمِنَ[of]ٱلْعَذَابِpunishmentوَٱلْعَنْهُمْand curse themلَعْنًا(with) a curseكَبِيرًاgreat68
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeلَا(Do) notتَكُونُوا۟beكَٱلَّذِينَlike those whoءَاذَوْا۟abusedمُوسَىٰMusaفَبَرَّأَهُthen Allah cleared himٱللَّهُthen Allah cleared himمِمَّاof whatقَالُوا۟they saidوَكَانَAnd he wasعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahوَجِيهًاhonorable69
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeٱتَّقُوا۟FearٱللَّهَAllahوَقُولُوا۟and speakقَوْلًاa wordسَدِيدًاright70
يُصْلِحْHe will amendلَكُمْfor youأَعْمَٰلَكُمْyour deedsوَيَغْفِرْand forgiveلَكُمْfor youذُنُوبَكُمْyour sinsوَمَنAnd whoeverيُطِعِobeysٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerفَقَدْcertainlyفَازَhas attainedفَوْزًاan attainmentعَظِيمًاgreat71
إِنَّاIndeed, Weعَرَضْنَا[We] offeredٱلْأَمَانَةَthe Trustعَلَىtoٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَٱلْجِبَالِand the mountainsفَأَبَيْنَbut they refusedأَنtoيَحْمِلْنَهَاbear itوَأَشْفَقْنَand they fearedمِنْهَاfrom itوَحَمَلَهَاbut bore itٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe manإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heكَانَwasظَلُومًاunjustجَهُولًاignorant72
لِّيُعَذِّبَSo that Allah may punishٱللَّهُSo that Allah may punishٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocrite menوَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِand the hypocrite womenوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheist menوَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِand the polytheist womenوَيَتُوبَand Allah will turn (in Mercy)ٱللَّهُand Allah will turn (in Mercy)عَلَىtoٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِand the believing womenوَكَانَAnd Allah isٱللَّهُAnd Allah isغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًۢاMost Merciful73

ٱلْحَمْدُAll praisesلِلَّهِ(be) to Allahٱلَّذِىthe One to Whom belongsلَهُۥthe One to Whom belongsمَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَهُand for Himٱلْحَمْدُ(are) all praisesفِىinٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe HereafterوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْحَكِيمُ(is) the All-Wiseٱلْخَبِيرُthe All-Aware1
يَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatيَلِجُpenetratesفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَمَاand whatيَخْرُجُcomes outمِنْهَاfrom itوَمَاand whatيَنزِلُdescendsمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenوَمَاand whatيَعْرُجُascendsفِيهَاthereinوَهُوَAnd Heٱلرَّحِيمُ(is) the Most Mercifulٱلْغَفُورُthe Oft-Forgiving2
وَقَالَBut sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَاNotتَأْتِينَاwill come to usٱلسَّاعَةُthe HourقُلْSayبَلَىٰNayوَرَبِّىby my Lordلَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْsurely it will come to youعَٰلِمِ(He is the) Knowerٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenلَاNotيَعْزُبُescapesعَنْهُfrom Himمِثْقَالُ(the) weightذَرَّةٍ(of) an atomفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَلَاand notفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَآand notأَصْغَرُsmallerمِنthanذَٰلِكَthatوَلَآand notأَكْبَرُgreaterإِلَّاbutفِى(is) inكِتَٰبٍa RecordمُّبِينٍClear3
لِّيَجْزِىَThat He may rewardٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose لَهُمfor themمَّغْفِرَةٌ(will be) forgivenessوَرِزْقٌand a provisionكَرِيمٌnoble4
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whoسَعَوْstriveفِىٓagainstءَايَٰتِنَاOur Versesمُعَٰجِزِينَ(to) cause failure أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthose لَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentمِّنofرِّجْزٍfoul natureأَلِيمٌpainful5
وَيَرَىAnd seeٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟have been givenٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledgeٱلَّذِىٓ(that) whatأُنزِلَis revealedإِلَيْكَto youمِنfromرَّبِّكَyour Lordهُوَ[it]ٱلْحَقَّ(is) the Truthوَيَهْدِىٓand it guidesإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطِ(the) Pathٱلْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyٱلْحَمِيدِthe Praiseworthy6
وَقَالَBut sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveهَلْShallنَدُلُّكُمْwe direct youعَلَىٰtoرَجُلٍa manيُنَبِّئُكُمْwho informs youإِذَاwhenمُزِّقْتُمْyou have disintegratedكُلَّ(in) totalمُمَزَّقٍdisintegrationإِنَّكُمْindeed youلَفِىsurely (will be) inخَلْقٍa creationجَدِيدٍnew7
أَفْتَرَىٰHas he inventedعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieأَمorبِهِۦin himجِنَّةٌۢ(is) madnessبَلِNayٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterفِى(will be) inٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentوَٱلضَّلَٰلِand errorٱلْبَعِيدِfar8
أَفَلَمْThen, do notيَرَوْا۟they seeإِلَىٰtowardsمَاwhatبَيْنَ(is) before themأَيْدِيهِمْ(is) before themوَمَاand whatخَلْفَهُم(is) behind themمِّنَofٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthإِنIfنَّشَأْWe willنَخْسِفْWe (could) cause to swallow themبِهِمُWe (could) cause to swallow themٱلْأَرْضَthe earthأَوْorنُسْقِطْcause to fallعَلَيْهِمْupon themكِسَفًاfragmentsمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely, is a Signلِّكُلِّfor everyعَبْدٍslaveمُّنِيبٍwho turns (to Allah)9
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveدَاوُۥدَDawoodمِنَّاfrom UsفَضْلًاBountyيَٰجِبَالُO mountainsأَوِّبِىRepeat praisesمَعَهُۥwith himوَٱلطَّيْرَand the birdsوَأَلَنَّاAnd We made pliableلَهُfor himٱلْحَدِيدَ[the] iron10
أَنِThatٱعْمَلْmakeسَٰبِغَٰتٍfull coats of mailوَقَدِّرْand measure preciselyفِى[of]ٱلسَّرْدِthe links (of armor)وَٱعْمَلُوا۟and workصَٰلِحًاrighteousnessإِنِّىIndeed, I Amبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doبَصِيرٌAll-Seer11
وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَAnd to Sulaimanٱلرِّيحَthe wind غُدُوُّهَاits morning courseشَهْرٌ(was) a monthوَرَوَاحُهَاand its afternoon courseشَهْرٌ(was) a monthوَأَسَلْنَاand We caused to flowلَهُۥfor himعَيْنَa springٱلْقِطْرِ(of) molten copperوَمِنَAnd [of]ٱلْجِنِّthe jinnمَنwhoيَعْمَلُworkedبَيْنَbefore himيَدَيْهِbefore himبِإِذْنِby the permissionرَبِّهِۦ(of) his LordوَمَنAnd whoeverيَزِغْdeviatedمِنْهُمْamong themعَنْfromأَمْرِنَاOur CommandنُذِقْهُWe will make him tasteمِنْofعَذَابِ(the) punishmentٱلسَّعِيرِ(of) the Blaze12
يَعْمَلُونَThey workedلَهُۥfor himمَاwhatيَشَآءُhe willedمِنofمَّحَٰرِيبَelevated chambersوَتَمَٰثِيلَand statuesوَجِفَانٍand bowlsكَٱلْجَوَابِlike reservoirsوَقُدُورٍand cooking-potsرَّاسِيَٰتٍfixedٱعْمَلُوٓا۟WorkءَالَO familyدَاوُۥدَ(of) Dawoodشُكْرًا(in) gratitudeوَقَلِيلٌBut fewمِّنْofعِبَادِىَMy slavesٱلشَّكُورُ(are) grateful13
فَلَمَّاThen whenقَضَيْنَاWe decreedعَلَيْهِfor himٱلْمَوْتَthe deathمَاnotدَلَّهُمْindicated to themعَلَىٰ[on]مَوْتِهِۦٓhis deathإِلَّاexceptدَآبَّةُa creatureٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earthتَأْكُلُeatingمِنسَأَتَهُۥhis staffفَلَمَّاBut whenخَرَّhe fell downتَبَيَّنَتِbecame clearٱلْجِنُّ(to) the jinnأَنthatلَّوْifكَانُوا۟they hadيَعْلَمُونَknownٱلْغَيْبَthe unseenمَاnotلَبِثُوا۟they (would have) remainedفِىinٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentٱلْمُهِينِhumiliating14
لَقَدْCertainlyكَانَ(there) wasلِسَبَإٍfor Sabaفِىinمَسْكَنِهِمْtheir dwelling placeءَايَةٌa sign:جَنَّتَانِTwo gardensعَنonيَمِينٍ(the) rightوَشِمَالٍand (on the) leftكُلُوا۟Eatمِنfromرِّزْقِ(the) provisionرَبِّكُمْ(of) your Lordوَٱشْكُرُوا۟and be gratefulلَهُۥto HimبَلْدَةٌA landطَيِّبَةٌgoodوَرَبٌّand a LordغَفُورٌOft-Forgiving15
فَأَعْرَضُوا۟But they turned awayفَأَرْسَلْنَاso We sentعَلَيْهِمْupon themسَيْلَ(the) floodٱلْعَرِمِ(of) the damوَبَدَّلْنَٰهُمand We changed for themبِجَنَّتَيْهِمْtheir two gardensجَنَّتَيْنِ(with) two gardensذَوَاتَىْproducing fruitأُكُلٍproducing fruitخَمْطٍbitterوَأَثْلٍand tamarisksوَشَىْءٍand (some)thingمِّنofسِدْرٍlote treesقَلِيلٍfew16
ذَٰلِكَThatجَزَيْنَٰهُمWe recompensed themبِمَاbecauseكَفَرُوا۟they disbelievedوَهَلْAnd notنُجَٰزِىٓWe recompenseإِلَّاexceptٱلْكَفُورَthe ungrateful17
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeبَيْنَهُمْbetween themوَبَيْنَand betweenٱلْقُرَىthe townsٱلَّتِىwhichبَٰرَكْنَاWe had blessedفِيهَاin itقُرًىtownsظَٰهِرَةًvisibleوَقَدَّرْنَاAnd We determinedفِيهَاbetween themٱلسَّيْرَthe journeyسِيرُوا۟Travelفِيهَاbetween themلَيَالِىَ(by) nightوَأَيَّامًاand (by) dayءَامِنِينَsafely18
فَقَالُوا۟But they saidرَبَّنَاOur Lordبَٰعِدْlengthen (the distance)بَيْنَbetweenأَسْفَارِنَاour journeysوَظَلَمُوٓا۟And they wrongedأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesفَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْso We made themأَحَادِيثَnarrationsوَمَزَّقْنَٰهُمْand We dispersed themكُلَّ(in) a totalمُمَزَّقٍdispersionإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّكُلِّfor everyoneصَبَّارٍpatientشَكُورٍ(and) grateful19
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyصَدَّقَfound trueعَلَيْهِمْabout themإِبْلِيسُIblisظَنَّهُۥhis assumptionفَٱتَّبَعُوهُso they followed himإِلَّاexceptفَرِيقًاa groupمِّنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers20
وَمَاAnd notكَانَwasلَهُۥfor himعَلَيْهِمover themمِّنanyسُلْطَٰنٍauthorityإِلَّاexceptلِنَعْلَمَthat We (might) make evidentمَنwhoيُؤْمِنُbelievesبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterمِمَّنْfrom (one) whoهُوَ[he]مِنْهَاabout itفِى(is) inشَكٍّdoubtوَرَبُّكَAnd your Lordعَلَىٰoverكُلِّallشَىْءٍthingsحَفِيظٌ(is) a Guardian21
قُلِSayٱدْعُوا۟Call uponٱلَّذِينَthose whomزَعَمْتُمyou claimمِّنbesidesدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahلَاNotيَمْلِكُونَthey possessمِثْقَالَ(the) weightذَرَّةٍ(of) an atomفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَلَاand notفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَمَاand notلَهُمْfor themفِيهِمَاin both of themمِنanyشِرْكٍpartnershipوَمَاand notلَهُۥfor Himمِنْهُمfrom themمِّنanyظَهِيرٍsupporter22
وَلَاAnd notتَنفَعُbenefitsٱلشَّفَٰعَةُthe intercessionعِندَهُۥٓwith Himإِلَّاexceptلِمَنْfor (one) whomأَذِنَHe permitsلَهُۥfor himحَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَاwhenفُزِّعَfear is removedعَنonقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsقَالُوا۟they will sayمَاذَاWhat is that قَالَyour Lord has saidرَبُّكُمْyour Lord has saidقَالُوا۟They will sayٱلْحَقَّThe truthوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَلِىُّ(is) the Most Highٱلْكَبِيرُthe Most Great23
قُلْSayمَنWhoيَرْزُقُكُمprovides (for) youمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthقُلِSayٱللَّهُAllahوَإِنَّآAnd indeed, weأَوْorإِيَّاكُمْyouلَعَلَىٰ(are) surely uponهُدًىguidanceأَوْorفِىinضَلَٰلٍerrorمُّبِينٍclear24
قُلSayلَّاNotتُسْـَٔلُونَyou will be askedعَمَّآabout whatأَجْرَمْنَاsins we committedوَلَاand notنُسْـَٔلُwe will be askedعَمَّاabout whatتَعْمَلُونَyou do25
قُلْSayيَجْمَعُWill gatherبَيْنَنَاus togetherرَبُّنَاour LordثُمَّthenيَفْتَحُHe will judgeبَيْنَنَاbetween usبِٱلْحَقِّin truthوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْفَتَّاحُ(is) the Judgeٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knowing26
قُلْSayأَرُونِىَShow meٱلَّذِينَthose whomأَلْحَقْتُمyou have joinedبِهِۦwith Himشُرَكَآءَ(as) partnersكَلَّاBy no meansبَلْNayهُوَHeٱللَّهُ(is) Allahٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise27
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَٰكَWe have sent youإِلَّاexceptكَآفَّةًcomprehensivelyلِّلنَّاسِto mankindبَشِيرًا(as) a giver of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاand (as) a warnerوَلَٰكِنَّButأَكْثَرَmostٱلنَّاسِ[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow28
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayمَتَىٰWhenهَٰذَا(is) thisٱلْوَعْدُpromiseإِنifكُنتُمْyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful29
قُلSayلَّكُمFor youمِّيعَادُ(is the) appointmentيَوْمٍ(of) a Dayلَّاnotتَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَyou can postponeعَنْهُ[of] itسَاعَةً(for) an hourوَلَاand notتَسْتَقْدِمُونَ(can) you precede (it)30
وَقَالَAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَنNever willنُّؤْمِنَwe believeبِهَٰذَاin thisٱلْقُرْءَانِQuranوَلَاand notبِٱلَّذِىin (that) whichبَيْنَ(was) before itيَدَيْهِ(was) before itوَلَوْBut ifتَرَىٰٓyou (could) seeإِذِwhenٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersمَوْقُوفُونَwill be made to standعِندَbeforeرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordيَرْجِعُwill throw backبَعْضُهُمْsome of themإِلَىٰtoبَعْضٍothersٱلْقَوْلَthe wordيَقُولُWill sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟were oppressedلِلَّذِينَto those whoٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟were arrogantلَوْلَآIf notأَنتُمْ(for) youلَكُنَّاcertainly we (would) have beenمُؤْمِنِينَbelievers31
قَالَWill sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟were arrogantلِلَّذِينَto thoseٱسْتُضْعِفُوٓا۟who were oppressedأَنَحْنُDid weصَدَدْنَٰكُمْavert youعَنِfromٱلْهُدَىٰthe guidanceبَعْدَafterإِذْwhenجَآءَكُمit had come to youبَلْNayكُنتُمyou wereمُّجْرِمِينَcriminals32
وَقَالَAnd will sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟were oppressedلِلَّذِينَto those whoٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟were arrogantبَلْNayمَكْرُ(it was) a plotٱلَّيْلِ(by) nightوَٱلنَّهَارِand (by) dayإِذْwhenتَأْمُرُونَنَآyou were ordering usأَنthatنَّكْفُرَwe disbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَنَجْعَلَand we set upلَهُۥٓfor Himأَندَادًاequalsوَأَسَرُّوا۟But they will concealٱلنَّدَامَةَthe regretلَمَّاwhenرَأَوُا۟they seeٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We will putٱلْأَغْلَٰلَshacklesفِىٓonأَعْنَاقِ(the) necksٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedهَلْWillيُجْزَوْنَthey be recompensedإِلَّاexceptمَا(for) whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَعْمَلُونَdo33
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentفِىtoقَرْيَةٍa townمِّنanyنَّذِيرٍwarnerإِلَّاbutقَالَsaidمُتْرَفُوهَآits wealthy onesإِنَّاIndeed weبِمَآin whatأُرْسِلْتُمyou have been sentبِهِۦwithكَٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers34
وَقَالُوا۟And they sayنَحْنُWeأَكْثَرُ(have) moreأَمْوَٰلًاwealthوَأَوْلَٰدًاand childrenوَمَاand notنَحْنُweبِمُعَذَّبِينَwill be punished35
قُلْSayإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordيَبْسُطُextendsٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَقْدِرُand restrictsوَلَٰكِنَّbutأَكْثَرَmostٱلنَّاسِ[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow36
وَمَآAnd notأَمْوَٰلُكُمْyour wealthوَلَآand notأَوْلَٰدُكُمyour childrenبِٱلَّتِى[that]تُقَرِّبُكُمْwill bring you closeعِندَنَاto Usزُلْفَىٰٓ(in) positionإِلَّاbutمَنْwhoeverءَامَنَbelievesوَعَمِلَand doesصَٰلِحًاrighteousnessفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseلَهُمْfor themجَزَآءُ(will be) rewardٱلضِّعْفِtwo-foldبِمَاfor whatعَمِلُوا۟they didوَهُمْand theyفِى(will be) inٱلْغُرُفَٰتِthe high dwellingsءَامِنُونَsecure37
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَسْعَوْنَstriveفِىٓagainstءَايَٰتِنَاOur Versesمُعَٰجِزِينَ(to) cause failureأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseفِىintoٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) brought38
قُلْSayإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordيَبْسُطُextendsٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsمِنْofعِبَادِهِۦHis slavesوَيَقْدِرُand restrictsلَهُۥfor himوَمَآBut whatأَنفَقْتُمyou spendمِّنofشَىْءٍanythingفَهُوَthen Heيُخْلِفُهُۥwill compensate itوَهُوَand Heخَيْرُ(is the) Bestٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ(of) the Providers39
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْHe will gather themجَمِيعًاallثُمَّthenيَقُولُHe will sayلِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِto the AngelsأَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِWere these youإِيَّاكُمْWere these youكَانُوا۟they wereيَعْبُدُونَworshipping40
قَالُوا۟They will sayسُبْحَٰنَكَGlory be to YouأَنتَYouوَلِيُّنَا(are) our Protectorمِنnot themدُونِهِمnot themبَلْNayكَانُوا۟they usedيَعْبُدُونَ(to) worshipٱلْجِنَّthe jinnأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themبِهِمin themمُّؤْمِنُونَ(were) believers41
فَٱلْيَوْمَBut todayلَاnotيَمْلِكُpossess powerبَعْضُكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍon othersنَّفْعًاto benefitوَلَاand notضَرًّاto harmوَنَقُولُand We will sayلِلَّذِينَto thoseظَلَمُوا۟who wrongedذُوقُوا۟Tasteعَذَابَ(the) punishmentٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireٱلَّتِىwhichكُنتُمyou usedبِهَاto [it]تُكَذِّبُونَdeny42
وَإِذَاAnd whenتُتْلَىٰare recitedعَلَيْهِمْto themءَايَٰتُنَاOur Versesبَيِّنَٰتٍclearقَالُوا۟they sayمَاNotهَٰذَآ(is) thisإِلَّاbutرَجُلٌa manيُرِيدُwho wishesأَنtoيَصُدَّكُمْhinder youعَمَّاfrom whatكَانَusedيَعْبُدُ(to) worshipءَابَآؤُكُمْyour forefathersوَقَالُوا۟And they sayمَاNotهَٰذَآ(is) thisإِلَّآexceptإِفْكٌa lieمُّفْتَرًىinventedوَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedلِلْحَقِّabout the truthلَمَّاwhenجَآءَهُمْit came to themإِنْNotهَٰذَآ(is) thisإِلَّاexceptسِحْرٌa magicمُّبِينٌobvious43
وَمَآAnd notءَاتَيْنَٰهُمWe (had) given themمِّنanyكُتُبٍScripturesيَدْرُسُونَهَاwhich they could studyوَمَآand notأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentإِلَيْهِمْto themقَبْلَكَbefore youمِنanyنَّذِيرٍwarner44
وَكَذَّبَAnd deniedٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themوَمَاand notبَلَغُوا۟they have attainedمِعْشَارَa tenthمَآ(of) whatءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْWe (had) given themفَكَذَّبُوا۟But they deniedرُسُلِىMy Messengersفَكَيْفَso howكَانَwasنَكِيرِMy rejection45
قُلْSayإِنَّمَآOnlyأَعِظُكُمI advise youبِوَٰحِدَةٍfor one (thing)أَنthatتَقُومُوا۟you standلِلَّهِfor Allahمَثْنَىٰ(in) pairsوَفُرَٰدَىٰand (as) individualsثُمَّthenتَتَفَكَّرُوا۟reflectمَاNotبِصَاحِبِكُم(is in) your companionمِّنanyجِنَّةٍmadnessإِنْNotهُوَheإِلَّا(is) exceptنَذِيرٌa warnerلَّكُمfor youبَيْنَbeforeيَدَىْbeforeعَذَابٍa punishmentشَدِيدٍsevere46
قُلْSayمَاNotسَأَلْتُكُمI ask youمِّنْforأَجْرٍany paymentفَهُوَbut it (is)لَكُمْfor youإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاbutعَلَىfromٱللَّهِAllahوَهُوَAnd Heعَلَىٰ(is) overكُلِّallشَىْءٍthingsشَهِيدٌa Witness47
قُلْSayإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordيَقْذِفُprojectsبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthعَلَّٰمُ(the) All-Knowerٱلْغُيُوبِ(of) the unseen48
قُلْSayجَآءَHas comeٱلْحَقُّthe truthوَمَاand notيُبْدِئُ(can) originateٱلْبَٰطِلُthe falsehoodوَمَاand notيُعِيدُrepeat49
قُلْSayإِنIfضَلَلْتُI errفَإِنَّمَآthen onlyأَضِلُّI will errعَلَىٰagainstنَفْسِىmyselfوَإِنِBut ifٱهْتَدَيْتُI am guidedفَبِمَاthen it is by whatيُوحِىٓrevealsإِلَىَّto meرَبِّىٓmy LordإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearerقَرِيبٌEver-Near50
وَلَوْAnd ifتَرَىٰٓyou (could) seeإِذْwhenفَزِعُوا۟they will be terrifiedفَلَاbut (there will be) noفَوْتَescapeوَأُخِذُوا۟and they will be seizedمِنfromمَّكَانٍa placeقَرِيبٍnear51
وَقَالُوٓا۟And they will sayءَامَنَّاWe believeبِهِۦin itوَأَنَّىٰBut howلَهُمُfor themٱلتَّنَاوُشُ(will be) the receivingمِنfromمَّكَانٍۢa placeبَعِيدٍfar off52
وَقَدْAnd certainlyكَفَرُوا۟they disbelievedبِهِۦin itمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeوَيَقْذِفُونَAnd they utter conjecturesبِٱلْغَيْبِabout the unseenمِنfromمَّكَانٍۢa placeبَعِيدٍfar off53
وَحِيلَAnd a barrier will be placedبَيْنَهُمْbetween themوَبَيْنَand betweenمَاwhatيَشْتَهُونَthey desireكَمَاasفُعِلَwas doneبِأَشْيَاعِهِمwith their kindمِّنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyكَانُوا۟wereفِىinشَكٍّdoubtمُّرِيبٍۢdisquieting54

ٱلْحَمْدُAll praisesلِلَّهِ(be) to AllahفَاطِرِOriginatorٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthجَاعِلِ(Who) makesٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِthe Angelsرُسُلًاmessengersأُو۟لِىٓhaving wingsأَجْنِحَةٍhaving wingsمَّثْنَىٰtwoوَثُلَٰثَor threeوَرُبَٰعَor fourيَزِيدُHe increasesفِىinٱلْخَلْقِthe creationمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe willsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰ(is) onكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌAll-Powerful1
مَّاWhatيَفْتَحِAllah grantsٱللَّهُAllah grantsلِلنَّاسِto mankindمِنofرَّحْمَةٍMercyفَلَاthen noneمُمْسِكَ(can) withholdلَهَاitوَمَاAnd whatيُمْسِكْHe withholdsفَلَاthen noneمُرْسِلَ(can) releaseلَهُۥitمِنۢthereafterبَعْدِهِۦthereafterوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise2
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُmankindٱذْكُرُوا۟Rememberنِعْمَتَ(the) Favorٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youهَلْIsمِنْ(there) anyخَٰلِقٍcreatorغَيْرُother (than) Allahٱللَّهِother (than) Allahيَرْزُقُكُمwho provides for youمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthلَآ(There is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاbutهُوَHeفَأَنَّىٰThen, howتُؤْفَكُونَ(are) you deluded3
وَإِنAnd ifيُكَذِّبُوكَthey deny youفَقَدْthen certainlyكُذِّبَتْwere deniedرُسُلٌMessengersمِّنbefore youقَبْلِكَbefore youوَإِلَىAnd toٱللَّهِAllahتُرْجَعُreturnٱلْأُمُورُthe matters4
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُmankindإِنَّIndeedوَعْدَ(the) promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahحَقٌّ(is) trueفَلَاSo (let) notتَغُرَّنَّكُمُdeceive youٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَلَاand (let) notيَغُرَّنَّكُمdeceive youبِٱللَّهِabout Allahٱلْغَرُورُthe Deceiver5
إِنَّIndeedٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe Shaitaanلَكُمْ(is) to youعَدُوٌّan enemyفَٱتَّخِذُوهُso take himعَدُوًّا(as) an enemyإِنَّمَاOnlyيَدْعُوا۟he invitesحِزْبَهُۥhis partyلِيَكُونُوا۟that they may beمِنْamongأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsٱلسَّعِيرِ(of) the Blaze6
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(will be) a punishmentشَدِيدٌsevereوَٱلَّذِينَand thoseءَامَنُوا۟who believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsلَهُمfor themمَّغْفِرَةٌ(will be) forgivenessوَأَجْرٌand a rewardكَبِيرٌgreat7
أَفَمَنThen is (he) who زُيِّنَis made fair-seemingلَهُۥto himسُوٓءُ(the) evilعَمَلِهِۦ(of) his deed فَرَءَاهُso that he sees itحَسَنًا(as) goodفَإِنَّFor indeedٱللَّهَAllahيُضِلُّlets go astrayمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَهْدِىand guidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsفَلَاSo (let) notتَذْهَبْgo outنَفْسُكَyour soulعَلَيْهِمْfor themحَسَرَٰتٍ(in) regretsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلِيمٌۢ(is) All-Knowerبِمَاof whatيَصْنَعُونَthey do8
وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَsendsٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windsفَتُثِيرُso that they raiseسَحَابًا(the) cloudsفَسُقْنَٰهُand We drive themإِلَىٰtoبَلَدٍa landمَّيِّتٍdeadفَأَحْيَيْنَاand We reviveبِهِtherewithٱلْأَرْضَthe earthبَعْدَafterمَوْتِهَاits deathكَذَٰلِكَThusٱلنُّشُورُ(will be) the Resurrection9
مَنWhoeverكَانَ[is] desiresيُرِيدُ[is] desiresٱلْعِزَّةَthe honorفَلِلَّهِthen for Allahٱلْعِزَّةُ(is) the HonorجَمِيعًاallإِلَيْهِTo Himيَصْعَدُascendsٱلْكَلِمُthe wordsٱلطَّيِّبُgoodوَٱلْعَمَلُand the deedٱلصَّٰلِحُrighteousيَرْفَعُهُۥraises itوَٱلَّذِينَBut those whoيَمْكُرُونَplotٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِthe evilلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentشَدِيدٌsevereوَمَكْرُand (the) plottingأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ(of) those هُوَitيَبُورُ(will) perish10
وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahخَلَقَكُمcreated youمِّنfromتُرَابٍdustثُمَّthenمِنfromنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropثُمَّthenجَعَلَكُمْHe made youأَزْوَٰجًاpairsوَمَاAnd notتَحْمِلُconceivesمِنْanyأُنثَىٰfemaleوَلَاand notتَضَعُgives birthإِلَّاexceptبِعِلْمِهِۦwith His knowledgeوَمَاAnd notيُعَمَّرُis granted lifeمِنanyمُّعَمَّرٍaged personوَلَاand notيُنقَصُis lessenedمِنْfromعُمُرِهِۦٓhis lifeإِلَّاbutفِى(is) inكِتَٰبٍa RegisterإِنَّIndeedذَٰلِكَthatعَلَىforٱللَّهِAllahيَسِيرٌ(is) easy11
وَمَاAnd notيَسْتَوِىare alikeٱلْبَحْرَانِthe two seasهَٰذَاThisعَذْبٌ(is) freshفُرَاتٌsweetسَآئِغٌpleasantشَرَابُهُۥits drinkوَهَٰذَاand thisمِلْحٌsaltyأُجَاجٌ(and) bitterوَمِنAnd fromكُلٍّeachتَأْكُلُونَyou eatلَحْمًاmeatطَرِيًّاfreshوَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَand you extractحِلْيَةًornamentsتَلْبَسُونَهَاyou wear themوَتَرَىand you seeٱلْفُلْكَthe shipsفِيهِin itمَوَاخِرَcleavingلِتَبْتَغُوا۟so that you may seekمِنofفَضْلِهِۦHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَbe grateful12
يُولِجُHe causes to enterٱلَّيْلَthe nightفِىin (to)ٱلنَّهَارِthe dayوَيُولِجُand He causes to enterٱلنَّهَارَthe dayفِىin (to)ٱلَّيْلِthe nightوَسَخَّرَand He has subjectedٱلشَّمْسَthe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonكُلٌّeachيَجْرِىrunningلِأَجَلٍfor a termمُّسَمًّىappointedذَٰلِكُمُThat (is)ٱللَّهُAllahرَبُّكُمْyour Lordلَهُfor Himٱلْمُلْكُ(is) the DominionوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whomتَدْعُونَyou invokeمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦbesides Himمَاnotيَمْلِكُونَthey possessمِنevenقِطْمِيرٍ(as much as) the membrane of a date-seed13
إِنIfتَدْعُوهُمْyou invoke themلَاnotيَسْمَعُوا۟they hearدُعَآءَكُمْyour callوَلَوْand ifسَمِعُوا۟they heardمَاnotٱسْتَجَابُوا۟they (would) respondلَكُمْto youوَيَوْمَAnd (on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionيَكْفُرُونَthey will denyبِشِرْكِكُمْyour associationوَلَاAnd noneيُنَبِّئُكَcan inform youمِثْلُlikeخَبِيرٍ(the) All-Aware14
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُmankindأَنتُمُYouٱلْفُقَرَآءُ(are) those in needإِلَىofٱللَّهِAllahوَٱللَّهُwhile AllahهُوَHeٱلْغَنِىُّ(is) Free of needٱلْحَمِيدُthe Praiseworthy15
إِنIfيَشَأْHe willsيُذْهِبْكُمْHe (can) do away with youوَيَأْتِand bringبِخَلْقٍin a creationجَدِيدٍnew16
وَلَاAnd notتَزِرُwill bearوَازِرَةٌbearer of burdensوِزْرَburdenأُخْرَىٰ(of) anotherوَإِنAnd ifتَدْعُcallsمُثْقَلَةٌa heavily ladenإِلَىٰtoحِمْلِهَا(carry) its loadلَاnotيُحْمَلْwill be carriedمِنْهُof itشَىْءٌanythingوَلَوْeven ifكَانَhe beذَاnear of kinقُرْبَىٰٓnear of kinإِنَّمَاOnlyتُنذِرُyou can warnٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَخْشَوْنَfearرَبَّهُمtheir Lord بِٱلْغَيْبِunseenوَأَقَامُوا۟and establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَمَنAnd whoeverتَزَكَّىٰpurifies himselfفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyيَتَزَكَّىٰhe purifiesلِنَفْسِهِۦfor his own selfوَإِلَىAnd toٱللَّهِAllahٱلْمَصِيرُ(is) the destination18
وَمَاAnd notيَسْتَوِىequalٱلْأَحْيَآءُ(are) the livingوَلَاand notٱلْأَمْوَٰتُthe deadإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيُسْمِعُcauses to hearمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَمَآand notأَنتَyouبِمُسْمِعٍcan make hearمَّن(those) whoفِى(are) inٱلْقُبُورِthe graves22
إِنَّآIndeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَٰكَ[We] have sent youبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthبَشِيرًا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاand (as) a warnerوَإِنAnd notمِّنْ(was) anyأُمَّةٍnationإِلَّاbutخَلَاhad passedفِيهَاwithin itنَذِيرٌa warner24
وَإِنAnd ifيُكَذِّبُوكَthey deny youفَقَدْthen certainlyكَذَّبَdeniedٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themجَآءَتْهُمْCame to themرُسُلُهُمtheir Messengersبِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِwith clear signsوَبِٱلزُّبُرِand with Scripturesوَبِٱلْكِتَٰبِand with the Bookٱلْمُنِيرِ[the] enlightening25
ثُمَّThenأَخَذْتُI seizedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedفَكَيْفَand howكَانَwasنَكِيرِMy rejection26
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahأَنزَلَsends downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَأَخْرَجْنَاthen We bring forthبِهِۦtherewithثَمَرَٰتٍfruitsمُّخْتَلِفًا(of) variousأَلْوَٰنُهَا[their] colorsوَمِنَAnd inٱلْجِبَالِthe mountainsجُدَدٌۢ(are) tractsبِيضٌwhiteوَحُمْرٌand redمُّخْتَلِفٌ(of) variousأَلْوَٰنُهَا[their] colorsوَغَرَابِيبُand intensely blackسُودٌand intensely black27
وَمِنَAnd amongٱلنَّاسِmenوَٱلدَّوَآبِّand moving creaturesوَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِand the cattleمُخْتَلِفٌ(are) variousأَلْوَٰنُهُۥ[their] colorsكَذَٰلِكَlikewiseإِنَّمَاOnlyيَخْشَىfearٱللَّهَAllahمِنْamongعِبَادِهِHis slavesٱلْعُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟those who have knowledgeإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَزِيزٌ(is) All-MightyغَفُورٌOft-Forgiving28
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَتْلُونَreciteكِتَٰبَ(the) Bookٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَأَقَامُوا۟and establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَأَنفَقُوا۟and spendمِمَّاout of whatرَزَقْنَٰهُمْWe have provided themسِرًّاsecretlyوَعَلَانِيَةًand openlyيَرْجُونَhopeتِجَٰرَةً(for) a commerce لَّنneverتَبُورَit will perish29
لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْThat He may give them in fullأُجُورَهُمْtheir rewardsوَيَزِيدَهُمand increase for themمِّنofفَضْلِهِۦٓHis BountyإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingشَكُورٌMost Appreciative30
وَٱلَّذِىٓAnd (that) whichأَوْحَيْنَآWe have revealedإِلَيْكَto youمِنَofٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookهُوَitٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truthمُصَدِّقًاconfirmingلِّمَاwhat (was)بَيْنَbefore itيَدَيْهِbefore itإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahبِعِبَادِهِۦof His slavesلَخَبِيرٌۢsurely, (is) All-AwareبَصِيرٌAll-Seer31
ثُمَّThenأَوْرَثْنَاWe caused to inheritٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookٱلَّذِينَthose whomٱصْطَفَيْنَاWe have chosenمِنْofعِبَادِنَاOur slavesفَمِنْهُمْand among themظَالِمٌ(is he) who wrongsلِّنَفْسِهِۦhimselfوَمِنْهُمand among themمُّقْتَصِدٌ(is he who is) moderateوَمِنْهُمْand among themسَابِقٌۢ(is he who is) foremostبِٱلْخَيْرَٰتِin good deedsبِإِذْنِby permissionٱللَّهِ(of) AllahذَٰلِكَThatهُوَisٱلْفَضْلُthe Bountyٱلْكَبِيرُthe great32
جَنَّٰتُGardensعَدْنٍ(of) Eternityيَدْخُلُونَهَاthey will enter themيُحَلَّوْنَThey will be adornedفِيهَاthereinمِنْwithأَسَاوِرَbraceletsمِنofذَهَبٍgoldوَلُؤْلُؤًاand pearlsوَلِبَاسُهُمْand their garmentsفِيهَاthereinحَرِيرٌ(will be of) silk33
وَقَالُوا۟And they (will) sayٱلْحَمْدُAll praisesلِلَّهِ(be) to Allahٱلَّذِىٓthe One Whoأَذْهَبَ(has) removedعَنَّاfrom usٱلْحَزَنَthe sorrowإِنَّIndeedرَبَّنَاour Lordلَغَفُورٌ(is) surely Oft-ForgivingشَكُورٌMost Appreciative34
ٱلَّذِىٓThe One Whoأَحَلَّنَاhas settled usدَارَ(in) a Homeٱلْمُقَامَةِ(of) Eternityمِن(out) ofفَضْلِهِۦHis BountyلَاNotيَمَسُّنَاtouches usفِيهَاthereinنَصَبٌany fatigueوَلَاand notيَمَسُّنَاtouchesفِيهَاthereinلُغُوبٌweariness35
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَهُمْfor themنَارُ(will be the) Fireجَهَنَّمَ(of) HellلَاNotيُقْضَىٰis decreedعَلَيْهِمْfor themفَيَمُوتُوا۟that they dieوَلَاand notيُخَفَّفُwill be lightenedعَنْهُمfor themمِّنْofعَذَابِهَاits tormentكَذَٰلِكَThusنَجْزِىWe recompenseكُلَّeveryكَفُورٍungrateful one36
وَهُمْAnd theyيَصْطَرِخُونَwill cryفِيهَاthereinرَبَّنَآOur LordأَخْرِجْنَاBring us outنَعْمَلْwe will doصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)غَيْرَother thanٱلَّذِى(that) whichكُنَّاwe usedنَعْمَلُ(to) doأَوَلَمْDid notنُعَمِّرْكُمWe give you life long enoughمَّاthatيَتَذَكَّرُ(would) receive admonitionفِيهِthereinمَنwhoeverتَذَكَّرَreceives admonitionوَجَآءَكُمُAnd came to youٱلنَّذِيرُthe warnerفَذُوقُوا۟So tasteفَمَاthen notلِلظَّٰلِمِينَ(is) for the wrongdoersمِنanyنَّصِيرٍhelper37
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَٰلِمُ(is the) Knowerغَيْبِ(of the) unseenٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heعَلِيمٌۢ(is the) All-Knowerبِذَاتِof what (is) in the breastsٱلصُّدُورِof what (is) in the breasts38
هُوَHeٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَكُمْmade youخَلَٰٓئِفَsuccessorsفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthفَمَنAnd whoeverكَفَرَdisbelievesفَعَلَيْهِthen upon himكُفْرُهُۥ(is) his disbeliefوَلَاAnd notيَزِيدُincreaseٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversكُفْرُهُمْtheir disbeliefعِندَnearرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordإِلَّاexceptمَقْتًا(in) hatredوَلَاand notيَزِيدُincreaseٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversكُفْرُهُمْtheir disbeliefإِلَّاexceptخَسَارًا(in) loss39
قُلْSayأَرَءَيْتُمْHave you seenشُرَكَآءَكُمُyour partnersٱلَّذِينَthose whomتَدْعُونَyou callمِنbesidesدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahأَرُونِىShow Meمَاذَاwhatخَلَقُوا۟they have createdمِنَfromٱلْأَرْضِthe earthأَمْorلَهُمْfor themشِرْكٌ(is) a shareفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensأَمْOrءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْhave We given themكِتَٰبًاa Bookفَهُمْso theyعَلَىٰ(are) onبَيِّنَتٍa clear proofمِّنْهُtherefromبَلْNayإِنnotيَعِدُpromiseٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersبَعْضُهُمsome of themبَعْضًا(to) othersإِلَّاexceptغُرُورًاdelusion40
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيُمْسِكُupholdsٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthأَنlestتَزُولَاthey ceaseوَلَئِنAnd ifزَالَتَآthey should ceaseإِنْnotأَمْسَكَهُمَاcan uphold themمِنْanyأَحَدٍoneمِّنۢafter Himبَعْدِهِۦٓafter HimإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeكَانَisحَلِيمًاMost ForbearingغَفُورًاOft-Forgiving41
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟And they sworeبِٱللَّهِby Allahجَهْدَ(the) strongestأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ(of) their oathsلَئِنthat ifجَآءَهُمْcame to themنَذِيرٌa warnerلَّيَكُونُنَّsurely, they would beأَهْدَىٰmore guidedمِنْthanإِحْدَىanyٱلْأُمَمِ(of) the nationsفَلَمَّاBut whenجَآءَهُمْcame to themنَذِيرٌa warnerمَّاnotزَادَهُمْit increased themإِلَّاbutنُفُورًا(in) aversion42
ٱسْتِكْبَارًا(Due to) arroganceفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe landوَمَكْرَand plottingٱلسَّيِّئِ(of) the evilوَلَاbut notيَحِيقُencompassesٱلْمَكْرُthe plotٱلسَّيِّئُ(of) the evilإِلَّاexceptبِأَهْلِهِۦits own peopleفَهَلْThen doيَنظُرُونَthey waitإِلَّاexceptسُنَّتَ(the) wayٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)فَلَنBut neverتَجِدَyou will findلِسُنَّتِin (the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahتَبْدِيلًاany changeوَلَنand neverتَجِدَyou will findلِسُنَّتِin (the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahتَحْوِيلًاany alteration43
أَوَلَمْHave they notيَسِيرُوا۟traveledفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe landفَيَنظُرُوا۟and seenكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themوَكَانُوٓا۟And they wereأَشَدَّstrongerمِنْهُمْthan themقُوَّةً(in) powerوَمَاBut notكَانَisٱللَّهُAllahلِيُعْجِزَهُۥthat can escape (from) Himمِنanyشَىْءٍthingفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَلَاand notفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeكَانَisعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerقَدِيرًاAll-Powerful44
وَلَوْAnd ifيُؤَاخِذُAllah (were to) punishٱللَّهُAllah (were to) punishٱلنَّاسَthe peopleبِمَاfor whatكَسَبُوا۟they have earnedمَاnotتَرَكَHe would leaveعَلَىٰonظَهْرِهَاits backمِنanyدَآبَّةٍcreatureوَلَٰكِنButيُؤَخِّرُهُمْHe gives them respiteإِلَىٰٓtillأَجَلٍa termمُّسَمًّىappointedفَإِذَاAnd whenجَآءَcomesأَجَلُهُمْtheir termفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِعِبَادِهِۦof His slavesبَصِيرًۢاAll-Seer45

لِتُنذِرَThat you may warnقَوْمًاa peopleمَّآnotأُنذِرَwere warnedءَابَآؤُهُمْtheir forefathersفَهُمْso theyغَٰفِلُونَ(are) heedless6
لَقَدْCertainlyحَقَّ(has) proved trueٱلْقَوْلُthe wordعَلَىٰٓuponأَكْثَرِهِمْmost of themفَهُمْso theyلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve7
إِنَّاIndeed, Weجَعَلْنَا[We] have placedفِىٓonأَعْنَٰقِهِمْtheir necksأَغْلَٰلًاiron collarsفَهِىَand theyإِلَى(are up) toٱلْأَذْقَانِthe chinsفَهُمso theyمُّقْمَحُونَ(are with) heads raised up8
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeمِنۢfromبَيْنِbefore/betweenأَيْدِيهِمْtheir hands/their frontسَدًّاa barrierوَمِنْand fromخَلْفِهِمْbehind themسَدًّاa barrierفَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْand We covered themفَهُمْso theyلَا(do) notيُبْصِرُونَsee9
وَسَوَآءٌAnd it (is) sameعَلَيْهِمْto themءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْwhether you warn themأَمْorلَمْ(do) notتُنذِرْهُمْwarn themلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَthey will believe10
إِنَّمَاOnlyتُنذِرُyou (can) warnمَنِ(him) whoٱتَّبَعَfollowsٱلذِّكْرَthe Reminderوَخَشِىَand fearsٱلرَّحْمَٰنَthe Most Graciousبِٱلْغَيْبِin the unseenفَبَشِّرْهُSo give him glad tidingsبِمَغْفِرَةٍof forgivenessوَأَجْرٍand a rewardكَرِيمٍnoble11
إِنَّاIndeed, Weنَحْنُ[We]نُحْىِ[We] give lifeٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadوَنَكْتُبُand We recordمَاwhatقَدَّمُوا۟they have sent beforeوَءَاثَٰرَهُمْand their footprintsوَكُلَّand everyشَىْءٍthingأَحْصَيْنَٰهُWe have enumerated itفِىٓinإِمَامٍa Registerمُّبِينٍclear12
وَٱضْرِبْAnd set forthلَهُمto themمَّثَلًاan exampleأَصْحَٰبَ(of the) companionsٱلْقَرْيَةِ(of) the cityإِذْwhenجَآءَهَاcame to itٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengers13
إِذْWhenأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentإِلَيْهِمُto themٱثْنَيْنِtwo (Messengers)فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاbut they denied both of themفَعَزَّزْنَاso We strengthened themبِثَالِثٍwith a thirdفَقَالُوٓا۟and they saidإِنَّآIndeed, Weإِلَيْكُمto youمُّرْسَلُونَ(are) Messengers14
قَالُوا۟They saidمَآNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) butبَشَرٌhuman beingsمِّثْلُنَاlike usوَمَآand notأَنزَلَhas revealedٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most GraciousمِنanyشَىْءٍthingإِنْNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) butتَكْذِبُونَlying15
قَالُوا۟They saidرَبُّنَاOur Lordيَعْلَمُknowsإِنَّآthat weإِلَيْكُمْto youلَمُرْسَلُونَ(are) surely Messengers16
قَالُوٓا۟They saidإِنَّاIndeed, weتَطَيَّرْنَا[we] see an evil omenبِكُمْfrom youلَئِنIfلَّمْnotتَنتَهُوا۟you desistلَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْsurely, we will stone youوَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمand surely will touch youمِّنَّاfrom usعَذَابٌa punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful18
قَالُوا۟They saidطَٰٓئِرُكُمYour evil omenمَّعَكُمْ(be) with youأَئِنIs it becauseذُكِّرْتُمyou are admonishedبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleمُّسْرِفُونَtransgressing19
وَجَآءَAnd cameمِنْfromأَقْصَا(the) farthest endٱلْمَدِينَةِ(of) the cityرَجُلٌa manيَسْعَىٰrunningقَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my Peopleٱتَّبِعُوا۟Followٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers20
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟Followمَن(those) whoلَّا(do) notيَسْـَٔلُكُمْask (of) youأَجْرًاany paymentوَهُمand theyمُّهْتَدُونَ(are) rightly guided21
وَمَاAnd whatلِىَ(is) for meلَآ(that) notأَعْبُدُI worshipٱلَّذِىthe One Whoفَطَرَنِىcreated meوَإِلَيْهِand to Whomتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned22
ءَأَتَّخِذُShould I takeمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓbesides HimءَالِهَةًgodsإِنIfيُرِدْنِintends for meٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most Graciousبِضُرٍّany harmلَّاnotتُغْنِwill availعَنِّى[from] meشَفَٰعَتُهُمْtheir intercessionشَيْـًٔا(in) anythingوَلَاand notيُنقِذُونِthey (can) save me23
قِيلَIt was saidٱدْخُلِEnterٱلْجَنَّةَParadiseقَالَHe saidيَٰلَيْتَI wishقَوْمِىmy peopleيَعْلَمُونَknew26
بِمَاOf howغَفَرَhas forgivenلِىmeرَبِّىmy Lordوَجَعَلَنِىand placed meمِنَamongٱلْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored ones27
