Accepting these terms

Using Al Quran Institute — the courses, live classes, books and digital resources — means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the platform.

We may update these terms as the platform changes. For anything significant we will give you notice before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.

Your account

Your account is yours alone. Keep your login details private and give us accurate enrolment information — we use it to award certificates and to reach you about your courses.

Sharing an account is the one thing that will get it suspended fastest, because it is indistinguishable from redistributing paid content.

Course content

Buying a course gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to watch and study it. It does not transfer ownership — the lectures, recitations, quizzes and books remain ours.

• One account per personYour enrolment is for you, not for a group to share.
• No redistributingDo not copy, upload, resell or repost course material, in whole or in part.
• No recording for resaleScreen recordings of lectures or live classes may not be shared or sold.
• Ask if you want to use somethingWe will often say yes. Written permission first, though.

Community conduct

Live classes and WhatsApp study groups deserve the same respect you would show in an in-person majlis.

• Speak respectfullyDisagree with the argument, not the person.
• No harassmentToward students or instructors, in any channel.
• No spam or solicitingStudy groups are not a place to advertise.
• Follow your instructorThey set the norms for their own classroom.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Where an instalment plan is offered, access continues as long as payments are up to date. If an instalment fails we will tell you before anything changes.

Refunds are considered case by case. Once you have accessed a course's content we cannot usually refund it — but tell us what went wrong and we will look at it properly.

Mobile app subscriptions

Memberships bought inside the AQI Classroom app for iPhone, iPad or Android are handled by Apple or Google, not by Stripe. Your card is charged by the store, the store holds your billing details, and the store — not us — is who you cancel with.

• They renew automaticallyA monthly membership renews every month and a yearly membership renews every year, at the price shown on the membership screen at the time you subscribe, until you cancel. Life Member is a single payment and never renews.
• You are charged at confirmationThe first payment is taken when you confirm the purchase. Each renewal is taken within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Cancel in your store accountTurn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store → Payments and subscriptions on Android. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• You keep what you paid forCancelling stops the next renewal. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Price changes need your consentIf we change the renewal price, the store will ask you to agree before it takes effect. If you do not, the subscription simply stops renewing.
• Refunds go through the storeApple and Google process refunds for in-app purchases under their own policies — we cannot issue them on your behalf. Write to us anyway if something went wrong and we will help you make the case.

A membership bought on the web through Stripe and a membership bought in the app unlock the same content on the same account. Everything else in these terms — your account, the content licence, community conduct — applies either way.

Service availability

We work to keep the platform available and correct, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never have a fault. Courses and materials are educational. They are not a substitute for personal religious guidance from a qualified scholar who knows your circumstances.

Suspension and liability

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. The following result in immediate suspension without a refund:

• Sharing account credentialsGiving others access to content they have not paid for.
• Scraping course contentAutomated extraction of lectures, books or materials.
• Circumventing paymentAny attempt to obtain paid content without paying for it.
• Unlawful useUsing the platform for anything illegal.

Otherwise, you keep access to what you have purchased for its stated duration, and we will give you fair notice before any material change. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform.
