تِلْكَTheseٱلرُّسُلُ(are) the MessengersفَضَّلْنَاWe (have) preferredبَعْضَهُمْsome of themعَلَىٰoverبَعْضٍothersمِّنْهُمAmong themمَّن(were those with) whomكَلَّمَspokeٱللَّهُAllahوَرَفَعَand He raisedبَعْضَهُمْsome of themدَرَجَٰتٍ(in) degreesوَءَاتَيْنَاAnd We gaveعِيسَىIsaٱبْنَsonمَرْيَمَ(of) Maryamٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِthe clear proofsوَأَيَّدْنَٰهُand We supported himبِرُوحِwith Spiritٱلْقُدُسِ[the] HolyوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَ(had) willedٱللَّهُAllahمَاnotٱقْتَتَلَ(would have) fought each otherٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِنۢ(came) fromبَعْدِهِمafter themمِّنۢfromبَعْدِafterمَا[what]جَآءَتْهُمُcame to themٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُthe clear proofsوَلَٰكِنِ[And] butٱخْتَلَفُوا۟they differedفَمِنْهُم[so] of themمَّنْ(are some) whoءَامَنَbelievedوَمِنْهُمand of themمَّن(are some) whoكَفَرَdeniedوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَ(had) willedٱللَّهُAllahمَاnotٱقْتَتَلُوا۟they (would have) fought each otherوَلَٰكِنَّ[and] butٱللَّهَAllahيَفْعَلُdoesمَاwhatيُرِيدُHe intends253
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]أَنفِقُوا۟Spendمِمَّاof whatرَزَقْنَٰكُمWe (have) provided youمِّنfromقَبْلِbeforeأَنthatيَأْتِىَcomesيَوْمٌa Dayلَّاnoبَيْعٌbargainingفِيهِin itوَلَاand noخُلَّةٌfriendshipوَلَاand noشَفَٰعَةٌintercessionوَٱلْكَٰفِرُونَAnd the deniers هُمُtheyٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ(are) the wrongdoers254
ٱللَّهُAllah لَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَGodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimٱلْحَىُّthe Ever-Livingٱلْقَيُّومُthe Sustainer of all that existsلَاNotتَأْخُذُهُۥovertakes Himسِنَةٌslumberوَلَا[and] notنَوْمٌsleepلَّهُۥTo Him (belongs)مَاwhat(ever)فِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand what(ever)فِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمَنWhoذَا(is) the oneٱلَّذِىwhoيَشْفَعُcan intercedeعِندَهُۥٓwith Himإِلَّاexceptبِإِذْنِهِۦby His permissionيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatبَيْنَ(is)أَيْدِيهِمْbefore themوَمَاand whatخَلْفَهُمْ(is) behind themوَلَاAnd notيُحِيطُونَthey encompassبِشَىْءٍanythingمِّنْofعِلْمِهِۦٓHis Knowledgeإِلَّاexceptبِمَا[of] whatشَآءَHe willedوَسِعَExtendsكُرْسِيُّهُHis Seatٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(to) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَلَاAnd notيَـُٔودُهُۥtires Himحِفْظُهُمَا(the) guarding of both of themوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَلِىُّ(is) the Most Highٱلْعَظِيمُthe Most Great255
لَآ(There is) noإِكْرَاهَcompulsionفِىinٱلدِّينِthe religionقَدSurelyتَّبَيَّنَhas become distinctٱلرُّشْدُthe right (path)مِنَfromٱلْغَىِّthe wrongفَمَنThen whoeverيَكْفُرْdisbelievesبِٱلطَّٰغُوتِin false deitiesوَيُؤْمِنۢand believesبِٱللَّهِin Allahفَقَدِthen surelyٱسْتَمْسَكَhe graspedبِٱلْعُرْوَةِthe handhold ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ[the] firmلَا(which) notٱنفِصَامَ(will) breakلَهَا[for it]وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing256
ٱللَّهُAllahوَلِىُّ(is the) Protecting Guardianٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]يُخْرِجُهُمHe brings them outمِّنَfromٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ[the] darknessإِلَىtowardsٱلنُّورِ[the] lightوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieve(d)أَوْلِيَآؤُهُمُtheir guardiansٱلطَّٰغُوتُ(are) the evil onesيُخْرِجُونَهُمthey bring them outمِّنَfromٱلنُّورِthe lightإِلَىtowardsٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ[the] darknessأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever257
أَلَمْDid notتَرَyou seeإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِىthe one whoحَآجَّarguedإِبْرَٰهِۦمَ(with) Ibrahimفِىconcerningرَبِّهِۦٓhis Lordأَنْbecauseءَاتَىٰهُgave himٱللَّهُAllahٱلْمُلْكَthe kingdomإِذْWhenقَالَSaidإِبْرَٰهِۦمُIbrahimرَبِّىَMy Lordٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُحْىِۦgrants lifeوَيُمِيتُand causes deathقَالَHe saidأَنَاIأُحْىِۦgive lifeوَأُمِيتُand cause deathقَالَSaidإِبْرَٰهِۦمُIbrahimفَإِنَّ[Then] indeedٱللَّهَAllahيَأْتِىbrings upبِٱلشَّمْسِthe sunمِنَfromٱلْمَشْرِقِthe eastفَأْتِso you bringبِهَاitمِنَfromٱلْمَغْرِبِthe westفَبُهِتَSo became dumbfoundedٱلَّذِىthe one whoكَفَرَdisbelievedوَٱللَّهُand Allahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىguideٱلْقَوْمَthe peopleٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ(who are) [the] wrongdoers258
أَوْOrكَٱلَّذِىlike the one whoمَرَّpassedعَلَىٰbyقَرْيَةٍa townshipوَهِىَand itخَاوِيَةٌ(had) overturnedعَلَىٰonعُرُوشِهَاits roofsقَالَHe saidأَنَّىٰHowيُحْىِۦ(will) bring to lifeهَٰذِهِthis (town)ٱللَّهُAllahبَعْدَafterمَوْتِهَاits deathفَأَمَاتَهُThen he was made to dieٱللَّهُ(by) Allahمِا۟ئَةَ(for) a hundredعَامٍyear(s)ثُمَّthenبَعَثَهُۥHe raised himقَالَHe saidكَمْHow longلَبِثْتَ(have) you remainedقَالَHe saidلَبِثْتُI remainedيَوْمًا(for) a dayأَوْorبَعْضَa partيَوْمٍ(of) a dayقَالَHe saidبَلNayلَّبِثْتَyou (have) remainedمِا۟ئَةَone hundredعَامٍyear(s)فَٱنظُرْThen lookإِلَىٰatطَعَامِكَyour foodوَشَرَابِكَand your drinkلَمْ(they did) notيَتَسَنَّهْchange with timeوَٱنظُرْand lookإِلَىٰatحِمَارِكَyour donkeyوَلِنَجْعَلَكَand We will make youءَايَةًa signلِّلنَّاسِfor the peopleوَٱنظُرْAnd lookإِلَىatٱلْعِظَامِthe bonesكَيْفَhowنُنشِزُهَاWe raise themثُمَّthenنَكْسُوهَاWe cover themلَحْمًا(with) fleshفَلَمَّاThen whenتَبَيَّنَbecame clearلَهُۥto himقَالَhe saidأَعْلَمُI knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰ(is) onكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌAll-Powerful259
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidإِبْرَٰهِۦمُIbrahimرَبِّMy Lordأَرِنِىshow meكَيْفَhowتُحْىِYou give lifeٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadقَالَHe saidأَوَلَمْHave notتُؤْمِنyou believedقَالَHe saidبَلَىٰYesوَلَٰكِن[and] butلِّيَطْمَئِنَّto satisfyقَلْبِىmy heartقَالَHe saidفَخُذْThen takeأَرْبَعَةًfourمِّنَofٱلطَّيْرِthe birdsفَصُرْهُنَّand incline themإِلَيْكَtowards youثُمَّthenٱجْعَلْputعَلَىٰonكُلِّeachجَبَلٍhillمِّنْهُنَّof themجُزْءًاa portionثُمَّthenٱدْعُهُنَّcall themيَأْتِينَكَthey will come to youسَعْيًا(in) hasteوَٱعْلَمْAnd knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahعَزِيزٌ(is) All-MightyحَكِيمٌAll-Wise260
مَّثَلُExampleٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoيُنفِقُونَspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealthفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahكَمَثَلِ(is) likeحَبَّةٍa grainأَنۢبَتَتْwhich growsسَبْعَsevenسَنَابِلَearsفِىinكُلِّeachسُنۢبُلَةٍearمِّا۟ئَةُhundredحَبَّةٍgrain(s)وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيُضَٰعِفُgives manifoldلِمَنto whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahوَٰسِعٌ(is) All-EncompassingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing261
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُنفِقُونَspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealthفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahثُمَّthenلَاnotيُتْبِعُونَthey followمَآwhatأَنفَقُوا۟they spendمَنًّا(with) reminders of generosityوَلَآand notأَذًىhurt لَّهُمْfor themأَجْرُهُمْtheir rewardعِندَ(is) withرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordوَلَاand (there will be) noخَوْفٌfearعَلَيْهِمْon themوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيَحْزَنُونَwill grieve262
قَوْلٌA wordمَّعْرُوفٌkindوَمَغْفِرَةٌand (seeking) forgivenessخَيْرٌ(are) betterمِّنthanصَدَقَةٍa charityيَتْبَعُهَآfollowed [it]أَذًى(by) hurtوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahغَنِىٌّ(is) All-SufficientحَلِيمٌAll-Forbearing263
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]لَا(Do) notتُبْطِلُوا۟render in vainصَدَقَٰتِكُمyour charitiesبِٱلْمَنِّwith reminders (of it)وَٱلْأَذَىٰor [the] hurtكَٱلَّذِىlike the one whoيُنفِقُspendsمَالَهُۥhis wealthرِئَآءَ(to) be seenٱلنَّاسِ(by) the peopleوَلَاand (does) notيُؤْمِنُbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِ[the] LastفَمَثَلُهُۥThen his exampleكَمَثَلِ(is) likeصَفْوَانٍ(that of a) smooth rockعَلَيْهِupon itتُرَابٌ(is) dustفَأَصَابَهُۥthen fell on itوَابِلٌheavy rainفَتَرَكَهُۥthen left itصَلْدًاbareلَّاNotيَقْدِرُونَthey have controlعَلَىٰonشَىْءٍanythingمِّمَّاof whatكَسَبُوا۟they (have) earnedوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىguideٱلْقَوْمَthe peopleٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ[the] disbelieving264
وَمَثَلُAnd (the) exampleٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoيُنفِقُونَspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمُtheir wealthٱبْتِغَآءَseekingمَرْضَاتِ(the) pleasureٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَتَثْبِيتًاand certaintyمِّنْfromأَنفُسِهِمْtheir (inner) soulsكَمَثَلِ(is) likeجَنَّةٍۢa gardenبِرَبْوَةٍon a heightأَصَابَهَاfell on itوَابِلٌheavy rainفَـَٔاتَتْso it yieldedأُكُلَهَاits harvestضِعْفَيْنِdoubleفَإِنThen ifلَّمْ(does) notيُصِبْهَاfall (on) itوَابِلٌheavy rainفَطَلٌّthen a drizzleوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doبَصِيرٌ(is) All-Seer265
أَيَوَدُّWould likeأَحَدُكُمْany of youأَنthatتَكُونَit beلَهُۥfor himجَنَّةٌa gardenمِّنofنَّخِيلٍdate-palmsوَأَعْنَابٍand grapevinesتَجْرِىflowingمِن[from]تَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversلَهُۥfor himفِيهَاin itمِنofكُلِّall (kinds)ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ(of) [the] fruitsوَأَصَابَهُand strikes himٱلْكِبَرُ[the] old ageوَلَهُۥand [for] hisذُرِّيَّةٌchildrenضُعَفَآءُ(are) weakفَأَصَابَهَآthen falls on itإِعْصَارٌwhirlwindفِيهِin itنَارٌ(is) fireفَٱحْتَرَقَتْthen it is burntكَذَٰلِكَThusيُبَيِّنُmakes clearٱللَّهُAllahلَكُمُfor youٱلْءَايَٰتِ(His) Signsلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَتَفَكَّرُونَponder266
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]أَنفِقُوا۟Spendمِنfromطَيِّبَٰتِ(the) good thingsمَاthatكَسَبْتُمْyou have earnedوَمِمَّآand whateverأَخْرَجْنَاWe brought forthلَكُمfor youمِّنَfromٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَاAnd (do) notتَيَمَّمُوا۟aim (at)ٱلْخَبِيثَthe badمِنْهُof itتُنفِقُونَyou spendوَلَسْتُمwhile you (would) notبِـَٔاخِذِيهِtake itإِلَّآexceptأَن[that]تُغْمِضُوا۟(with) close(d) eyesفِيهِ[in it]وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟and knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahغَنِىٌّ(is) Self-SufficientحَمِيدٌPraiseworthy267
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُThe Shaitaanيَعِدُكُمُpromises youٱلْفَقْرَ[the] povertyوَيَأْمُرُكُمand orders youبِٱلْفَحْشَآءِto immoralityوَٱللَّهُwhile Allahيَعِدُكُمpromises youمَّغْفِرَةًforgivenessمِّنْهُfrom Himوَفَضْلًاand bountyوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahوَٰسِعٌ(is) All-EncompassingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing268
يُؤْتِىHe grantsٱلْحِكْمَةَ[the] wisdomمَن(to) whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَمَنand whoeverيُؤْتَis grantedٱلْحِكْمَةَ[the] wisdomفَقَدْthen certainlyأُوتِىَhe is grantedخَيْرًاgoodكَثِيرًاabundantوَمَاAnd noneيَذَّكَّرُremembersإِلَّآexceptأُو۟لُوا۟thoseٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ(of) understanding269
وَمَآAnd whateverأَنفَقْتُمyou spendمِّن(out) ofنَّفَقَةٍ(your) expendituresأَوْorنَذَرْتُمyou vowمِّنofنَّذْرٍvow(s)فَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahيَعْلَمُهُۥknows itوَمَاand notلِلظَّٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoersمِنْanyأَنصَارٍhelpers270
إِنIfتُبْدُوا۟you discloseٱلصَّدَقَٰتِthe charitiesفَنِعِمَّاthen goodهِىَit (is)وَإِنBut ifتُخْفُوهَاyou keep it secretوَتُؤْتُوهَاand give itٱلْفُقَرَآءَ(to) the poorفَهُوَthen itخَيْرٌ(is) betterلَّكُمْfor youوَيُكَفِّرُAnd He will removeعَنكُمfrom youمِّن[of]سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْyour evil deedsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِمَاwith whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرٌ(is) All-Aware271
لَّيْسَNotعَلَيْكَon youهُدَىٰهُمْ(is) their guidanceوَلَٰكِنَّ[and] butٱللَّهَAllahيَهْدِىguidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَمَاAnd whateverتُنفِقُوا۟you spendمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodفَلِأَنفُسِكُمْthen it is for yourselfوَمَاand notتُنفِقُونَyou spendإِلَّاexceptٱبْتِغَآءَseekingوَجْهِ(the) faceٱللَّهِ(of) AllahوَمَاAnd whateverتُنفِقُوا۟you spendمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodيُوَفَّwill be repaid in fullإِلَيْكُمْto youوَأَنتُمْand youلَا(will) notتُظْلَمُونَbe wronged272
لِلْفُقَرَآءِFor the poorٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُحْصِرُوا۟are wrapped upفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَاnotيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are ableضَرْبًا(to) move aboutفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthيَحْسَبُهُمُThink (about) themٱلْجَاهِلُthe ignorant oneأَغْنِيَآءَ(that they are) self-sufficientمِنَ(because) ofٱلتَّعَفُّفِ(their) restraintتَعْرِفُهُمyou recognize themبِسِيمَٰهُمْby their markلَاNotيَسْـَٔلُونَ(do) they askٱلنَّاسَthe peopleإِلْحَافًاwith importunityوَمَاAnd whateverتُنفِقُوا۟you spendمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahبِهِۦof itعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower273
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُنفِقُونَspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمtheir wealthبِٱلَّيْلِby nightوَٱلنَّهَارِand dayسِرًّاsecretlyوَعَلَانِيَةًand openlyفَلَهُمْthen for themأَجْرُهُمْ(is) their rewardعِندَwithرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordوَلَاand noخَوْفٌfearعَلَيْهِمْon themوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيَحْزَنُونَwill grieve274
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَأْكُلُونَconsumeٱلرِّبَوٰا۟[the] usuryلَاnotيَقُومُونَthey can standإِلَّاexceptكَمَاlikeيَقُومُstandsٱلَّذِىthe one whoيَتَخَبَّطُهُconfounds himٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanمِنَwithٱلْمَسِّ(his) touchذَٰلِكَThatبِأَنَّهُمْ(is) because theyقَالُوٓا۟sayإِنَّمَاOnlyٱلْبَيْعُthe tradeمِثْلُ(is) likeٱلرِّبَوٰا۟[the] usuryوَأَحَلَّWhile has permittedٱللَّهُAllahٱلْبَيْعَ[the] tradeوَحَرَّمَbut (has) forbiddenٱلرِّبَوٰا۟[the] usuryفَمَنThen whoever جَآءَهُۥcomes to himمَوْعِظَةٌ(the) admonitionمِّنfromرَّبِّهِۦHis Lordفَٱنتَهَىٰand he refrainedفَلَهُۥthen for himمَاwhatسَلَفَ(has) passedوَأَمْرُهُۥٓand his caseإِلَى(is) withٱللَّهِAllahوَمَنْand whoeverعَادَrepeatedفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever275
يَمْحَقُDestroysٱللَّهُAllahٱلرِّبَوٰا۟the usuryوَيُرْبِىand (gives) increaseٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ(for) the charitiesوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveكُلَّeveryكَفَّارٍungratefulأَثِيمٍsinner276
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِgood deedsوَأَقَامُوا۟and establishedٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتَوُا۟and gaveٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahلَهُمْfor them أَجْرُهُمْtheir rewardعِندَ(is) withرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordوَلَاand noخَوْفٌfearعَلَيْهِمْon themوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيَحْزَنُونَwill grieve277
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]ٱتَّقُوا۟FearٱللَّهَAllahوَذَرُوا۟and give upمَاwhatبَقِىَremainedمِنَofٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟[the] usuryإِنifكُنتُمyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers278
فَإِنAnd ifلَّمْnotتَفْعَلُوا۟you doفَأْذَنُوا۟then be informedبِحَرْبٍof a warمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His MessengerوَإِنAnd ifتُبْتُمْyou repentفَلَكُمْthen for youرُءُوسُ(is)أَمْوَٰلِكُمْyour capital لَا(do) notتَظْلِمُونَwrongوَلَاand notتُظْلَمُونَyou will be wronged279
وَإِنAnd ifكَانَisذُوthe (debtor)عُسْرَةٍin difficultyفَنَظِرَةٌthen postponementإِلَىٰuntilمَيْسَرَةٍeaseوَأَنAnd ifتَصَدَّقُوا۟you remit as charityخَيْرٌ(it is) betterلَّكُمْfor youإِنIfكُنتُمْyouتَعْلَمُونَknow280
وَٱتَّقُوا۟And fearيَوْمًاa Dayتُرْجَعُونَyou will be brought backفِيهِ[in it]إِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahثُمَّThenتُوَفَّىٰ(will be) repaid in fullكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulمَّاwhatكَسَبَتْit earnedوَهُمْand theyلَاnotيُظْلَمُونَwill be wronged281
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]إِذَاWhenتَدَايَنتُمyou contract with one anotherبِدَيْنٍany debtإِلَىٰٓforأَجَلٍa termمُّسَمًّىfixedفَٱكْتُبُوهُthen write itوَلْيَكْتُبAnd let writeبَّيْنَكُمْbetween youكَاتِبٌۢa scribeبِٱلْعَدْلِin justiceوَلَاAnd notيَأْبَ(should) refuseكَاتِبٌa scribeأَنthatيَكْتُبَhe writesكَمَاasعَلَّمَهُ(has) taught himٱللَّهُAllahفَلْيَكْتُبْSo let him writeوَلْيُمْلِلِand let dictateٱلَّذِىthe oneعَلَيْهِon whomٱلْحَقُّ(is) the rightوَلْيَتَّقِand let him fearٱللَّهَAllahرَبَّهُۥhis Lordوَلَاand (let him) notيَبْخَسْdiminishمِنْهُfrom itشَيْـًٔاanythingفَإِنThen ifكَانَisٱلَّذِىthe oneعَلَيْهِon himٱلْحَقُّ(is) the rightسَفِيهًا(of) limited understandingأَوْorضَعِيفًاweakأَوْorلَاnotيَسْتَطِيعُcapableأَنthatيُمِلَّ(can) dictateهُوَheفَلْيُمْلِلْthen let dictateوَلِيُّهُۥhis guardianبِٱلْعَدْلِwith justiceوَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟And call for evidenceشَهِيدَيْنِtwo witnessesمِنamongرِّجَالِكُمْyour menفَإِنAnd ifلَّمْnotيَكُونَاthere areرَجُلَيْنِtwo menفَرَجُلٌthen one manوَٱمْرَأَتَانِand two womenمِمَّنof whomتَرْضَوْنَyou agreeمِنَofٱلشُّهَدَآءِ[the] witnessesأَن(so) that (if)تَضِلَّ[she] errsإِحْدَىٰهُمَاone of the twoفَتُذَكِّرَthen will remindإِحْدَىٰهُمَاone of the twoٱلْأُخْرَىٰthe otherوَلَاAnd notيَأْبَ(should) refuseٱلشُّهَدَآءُthe witnessesإِذَاwhenمَاthatدُعُوا۟they are calledوَلَاAnd notتَسْـَٔمُوٓا۟(be) wearyأَنthatتَكْتُبُوهُyou write it صَغِيرًاsmallأَوْorكَبِيرًاlargeإِلَىٰٓforأَجَلِهِۦits termذَٰلِكُمْThatأَقْسَطُ(is) more justعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahوَأَقْوَمُand more uprightلِلشَّهَٰدَةِfor evidenceوَأَدْنَىٰٓand nearerأَلَّاthat notتَرْتَابُوٓا۟you (have) doubtإِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَكُونَbeتِجَٰرَةًa transactionحَاضِرَةًpresentتُدِيرُونَهَاyou carry outبَيْنَكُمْamong youفَلَيْسَthen notعَلَيْكُمْon youجُنَاحٌany sinأَلَّاthat notتَكْتُبُوهَاyou write itوَأَشْهِدُوٓا۟And take witnessإِذَاwhenتَبَايَعْتُمْyou make commercial transactionوَلَاAnd notيُضَآرَّ(should) be harmedكَاتِبٌ(the) scribeوَلَاand notشَهِيدٌ(the) witnessوَإِنand ifتَفْعَلُوا۟you doفَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed itفُسُوقٌۢ(is) sinful conductبِكُمْfor youوَٱتَّقُوا۟and fearٱللَّهَAllahوَيُعَلِّمُكُمُAnd teachesٱللَّهُAllahوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower282
وَإِنAnd ifكُنتُمْyou areعَلَىٰonسَفَرٍa journeyوَلَمْand notتَجِدُوا۟you findكَاتِبًاa scribeفَرِهَٰنٌthen pledgeمَّقْبُوضَةٌin handفَإِنْThen ifأَمِنَentrustsبَعْضُكُمone of youبَعْضًا(to) anotherفَلْيُؤَدِّthen let dischargeٱلَّذِىthe one whoٱؤْتُمِنَis entrustedأَمَٰنَتَهُۥhis trustوَلْيَتَّقِAnd let him fearٱللَّهَAllahرَبَّهُۥhis LordوَلَاAnd (do) notتَكْتُمُوا۟concealٱلشَّهَٰدَةَthe evidenceوَمَنAnd whoeverيَكْتُمْهَاconceals itفَإِنَّهُۥٓthen indeed heءَاثِمٌ(is) sinful قَلْبُهُۥhis heartوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower283
لِّلَّهِTo Allah (belongs)مَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَإِنAnd ifتُبْدُوا۟you discloseمَاwhatفِىٓ(is) inأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesأَوْorتُخْفُوهُyou conceal itيُحَاسِبْكُمwill call you to accountبِهِfor itٱللَّهُAllahفَيَغْفِرُThen, He will forgiveلِمَن[to] whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيُعَذِّبُand He will punishمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلَىٰonكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌ(is) All-Powerful284
ءَامَنَBelievedٱلرَّسُولُthe Messengerبِمَآin whatأُنزِلَwas revealedإِلَيْهِto himمِنfromرَّبِّهِۦhis Lordوَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَand the believersكُلٌّAllءَامَنَbelievedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦand His Angelsوَكُتُبِهِۦand His Booksوَرُسُلِهِۦand His MessengersلَاNotنُفَرِّقُwe make distinctionبَيْنَbetweenأَحَدٍanyمِّنofرُّسُلِهِۦHis messengersوَقَالُوا۟And they saidسَمِعْنَاWe heardوَأَطَعْنَاand we obeyedغُفْرَانَكَ(Grant) us Your forgivenessرَبَّنَاour Lordوَإِلَيْكَand to Youٱلْمَصِيرُ(is) the return285
لَا(Does) notيُكَلِّفُburdenٱللَّهُAllahنَفْسًاany soulإِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَاits capacityلَهَاfor itمَاwhatكَسَبَتْit earnedوَعَلَيْهَاand against itمَاwhatٱكْتَسَبَتْit earnedرَبَّنَاOur Lordلَا(Do) notتُؤَاخِذْنَآtake us to taskإِنifنَّسِينَآwe forgetأَوْorأَخْطَأْنَاwe errرَبَّنَاOur LordوَلَاAnd (do) notتَحْمِلْlayعَلَيْنَآupon usإِصْرًاa burdenكَمَاlike thatحَمَلْتَهُۥ(which) You laid [it]عَلَىonٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were) fromقَبْلِنَاbefore usرَبَّنَاOur Lordوَلَا[And] (do) notتُحَمِّلْنَاlay on usمَاwhatلَاnotطَاقَةَ(the) strengthلَنَاwe haveبِهِۦ[of it] (to bear)وَٱعْفُAnd pardonعَنَّا[from] usوَٱغْفِرْand forgiveلَنَا[for] usوَٱرْحَمْنَآand have mercy on usأَنتَYou (are)مَوْلَىٰنَاour Protectorفَٱنصُرْنَاso help usعَلَىagainstٱلْقَوْمِthe people ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ[the] disbelievers286

ٱللَّهُAllah لَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَGodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimٱلْحَىُّthe Ever-Livingٱلْقَيُّومُthe Sustainer of all that exists2
نَزَّلَHe revealedعَلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookبِٱلْحَقِّin [the] truthمُصَدِّقًاconfirmingلِّمَاthat whichبَيْنَ(was)يَدَيْهِbefore itوَأَنزَلَand He revealedٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَthe Tauratوَٱلْإِنجِيلَand the Injeel3
مِنFromقَبْلُbefore (this)هُدًى(as) guidanceلِّلنَّاسِfor the mankindوَأَنزَلَAnd (He) revealedٱلْفُرْقَانَthe CriterionإِنَّVerilyٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]بِـَٔايَٰتِin (the) Versesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentشَدِيدٌsevereوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَزِيزٌ(is) All-MightyذُوAll-Ableٱنتِقَامٍ(of) retribution4
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllah لَاnotيَخْفَىٰis hiddenعَلَيْهِfrom Himشَىْءٌanythingفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَاand notفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven5
هُوَHeٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُصَوِّرُكُمْshapes youفِىinٱلْأَرْحَامِthe wombsكَيْفَhow(ever)يَشَآءُHe willsلَآ(There is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise6
هُوَHeٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَنزَلَrevealedعَلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookمِنْهُof itءَايَٰتٌ(are) Versesمُّحْكَمَٰتٌabsolutely clear هُنَّthey (are)أُمُّthe foundationٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookوَأُخَرُand othersمُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ(are) allegoricalفَأَمَّاThen as forٱلَّذِينَthoseفِىinقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsزَيْغٌ(is) perversity فَيَتَّبِعُونَ[so] they followمَاwhatتَشَٰبَهَ(is) allegoricalمِنْهُof itٱبْتِغَآءَseekingٱلْفِتْنَةِ[the] discordوَٱبْتِغَآءَand seekingتَأْوِيلِهِۦits interpretationوَمَاAnd notيَعْلَمُknowsتَأْوِيلَهُۥٓits interpretationإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهُAllahوَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَAnd those firmفِىinٱلْعِلْمِ[the] knowledgeيَقُولُونَthey sayءَامَنَّاWe believeبِهِۦin itكُلٌّAllمِّنْ(is)عِندِfromرَبِّنَاour LordوَمَاAnd notيَذَّكَّرُwill take heedإِلَّآexceptأُو۟لُوا۟menٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ(of) understanding7
رَبَّنَاOur Lordلَا(Do) notتُزِغْdeviateقُلُوبَنَاour heartsبَعْدَafterإِذْ[when]هَدَيْتَنَاYou (have) guided usوَهَبْand grantلَنَا(for) usمِنfromلَّدُنكَYourselfرَحْمَةًmercyإِنَّكَIndeed YouأَنتَYouٱلْوَهَّابُ(are) the Bestower8
رَبَّنَآOur LordإِنَّكَIndeed, Youجَامِعُwill gatherٱلنَّاسِ[the] mankindلِيَوْمٍon a Dayلَّا(there is) noرَيْبَdoubtفِيهِin itإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُخْلِفُbreakٱلْمِيعَادَthe Promise9
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]لَنneverتُغْنِىَwill availعَنْهُمْ[for] themأَمْوَٰلُهُمْtheir wealthوَلَآand notأَوْلَٰدُهُمtheir childrenمِّنَagainstٱللَّهِAllahشَيْـًٔاanythingوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَand those هُمْthey (are)وَقُودُ(the) fuelٱلنَّارِ(for) the Fire10
كَدَأْبِLike behaviorءَالِ(of the) peopleفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoمِن(were) fromقَبْلِهِمْbefore themكَذَّبُوا۟They deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Signsفَأَخَذَهُمُso seized themٱللَّهُAllahبِذُنُوبِهِمْfor their sinsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahشَدِيدُ(is) severeٱلْعِقَابِ(in) [the] punishment11
قُلSayلِّلَّذِينَto those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]سَتُغْلَبُونَYou will be overcomeوَتُحْشَرُونَand you will be gatheredإِلَىٰtoجَهَنَّمَHellوَبِئْسَ[and] an evilٱلْمِهَادُ[the] resting place12
قَدْSurelyكَانَit wasلَكُمْfor youءَايَةٌa signفِىinفِئَتَيْنِ(the) two hostsٱلْتَقَتَاwhich met فِئَةٌone groupتُقَٰتِلُfightingفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَأُخْرَىٰand anotherكَافِرَةٌdisbelieversيَرَوْنَهُمThey were seeing themمِّثْلَيْهِمْtwice of themرَأْىَwith the sightٱلْعَيْنِ(of) their eyesوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيُؤَيِّدُsupportsبِنَصْرِهِۦwith His helpمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَعِبْرَةًsurely (is) a lessonلِّأُو۟لِىfor the ownersٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ(of) vision13
زُيِّنَBeautifiedلِلنَّاسِfor mankindحُبُّ(is) loveٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ(of) the (things they) desire مِنَofٱلنِّسَآءِ[the] womenوَٱلْبَنِينَand [the] sonsوَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِand [the] heapsٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ[the] stored upمِنَofٱلذَّهَبِ[the] goldوَٱلْفِضَّةِand [the] silverوَٱلْخَيْلِand [the] horsesٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ[the] brandedوَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِand [the] cattleوَٱلْحَرْثِand [the] tilled landذَٰلِكَThatمَتَٰعُ(is) provisionٱلْحَيَوٰةِ(of) lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَٱللَّهُbut Allah عِندَهُۥwith Himحُسْنُ(is an) excellentٱلْمَـَٔابِ[the] abode to return14
قُلْSayأَؤُنَبِّئُكُمShall I inform youبِخَيْرٍof betterمِّنthanذَٰلِكُمْthatلِلَّذِينَFor those whoٱتَّقَوْا۟fear[ed]عِندَwithرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordجَنَّٰتٌ(are) Gardensتَجْرِىflowsمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath themٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ[the] rivers خَٰلِدِينَabiding foreverفِيهَاin itوَأَزْوَٰجٌand spousesمُّطَهَّرَةٌpureوَرِضْوَٰنٌand approvalمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبَصِيرٌۢ(is) All-Seerبِٱلْعِبَادِof (His) slaves15
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَآOur LordإِنَّنَآIndeed, weءَامَنَّا(have) believedفَٱغْفِرْso forgiveلَنَاfor usذُنُوبَنَاour sinsوَقِنَاand save usعَذَابَ(from) punishmentٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fire16
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَThe patientوَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَand the truthfulوَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَand the obedientوَٱلْمُنفِقِينَand those who spendوَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَand those who seek forgivenessبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ[in the] before dawn17
شَهِدَBears witnessٱللَّهُAllahأَنَّهُۥthat [He]لَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimوَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُand (so do) the Angelsوَأُو۟لُوا۟and ownersٱلْعِلْمِ(of) [the] knowledge قَآئِمًۢاstandingبِٱلْقِسْطِin justiceلَآ(There is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise18
إِنَّIndeedٱلدِّينَthe religionعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ(is) IslamوَمَاAnd notٱخْتَلَفَdifferedٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookإِلَّاexceptمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterمَا[what]جَآءَهُمُcame to themٱلْعِلْمُ[the] knowledgeبَغْيًۢاout of envyبَيْنَهُمْamong themوَمَنAnd whoeverيَكْفُرْdisbelievesبِـَٔايَٰتِin (the) Versesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahسَرِيعُ(is) swiftٱلْحِسَابِ(in taking) account19
فَإِنْThen ifحَآجُّوكَthey argue with youفَقُلْthen sayأَسْلَمْتُI have submittedوَجْهِىَmyselfلِلَّهِto Allahوَمَنِand (those) whoٱتَّبَعَنِfollow meوَقُلAnd sayلِّلَّذِينَto those whoأُوتُوا۟were givenٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَand the unlettered peopleءَأَسْلَمْتُمْHave you submitted yourselvesفَإِنْThen ifأَسْلَمُوا۟they submitفَقَدِthen surelyٱهْتَدَوا۟they are guidedوَّإِنBut ifتَوَلَّوْا۟they turn backفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyعَلَيْكَon youٱلْبَلَٰغُ(is) to [the] conveyوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبَصِيرٌۢ(is) All-Seerبِٱلْعِبَادِof [His] slaves20
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَكْفُرُونَdisbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِin (the) Signs (of)ٱللَّهِAllahوَيَقْتُلُونَand they killٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَthe Prophetsبِغَيْرِwithoutحَقٍّrightوَيَقْتُلُونَand they killٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَأْمُرُونَorderبِٱلْقِسْطِ[with] justiceمِنَamongٱلنَّاسِthe peopleفَبَشِّرْهُمthen give them tidingsبِعَذَابٍof a punishmentأَلِيمٍpainful21
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones who حَبِطَتْbecame worthlessأَعْمَٰلُهُمْtheir deedsفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand (in) the HereafterوَمَاAnd notلَهُم(will be) for themمِّنanyنَّٰصِرِينَhelpers22
أَلَمْHave notتَرَyou seenإِلَى[to]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenنَصِيبًاa portionمِّنَofٱلْكِتَٰبِthe ScriptureيُدْعَوْنَThey are invitedإِلَىٰtoكِتَٰبِ(the) Bookٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلِيَحْكُمَthat (it should) arbitrateبَيْنَهُمْbetween themثُمَّthenيَتَوَلَّىٰturns awayفَرِيقٌa partyمِّنْهُمْof themوَهُمand they (are)مُّعْرِضُونَthose who are averse23
ذَٰلِكَThatبِأَنَّهُمْ(is) because theyقَالُوا۟sayلَنNeverتَمَسَّنَاwill touch usٱلنَّارُthe Fireإِلَّآexceptأَيَّامًا(for) daysمَّعْدُودَٰتٍnumberedوَغَرَّهُمْAnd deceived themفِىinدِينِهِمtheir religionمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟they wereيَفْتَرُونَinventing24
فَكَيْفَThen how (will it be)إِذَاwhenجَمَعْنَٰهُمْWe will gather themلِيَوْمٍon a Day لَّاnoرَيْبَdoubtفِيهِin itوَوُفِّيَتْAnd will be paid in fullكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulمَّاwhatكَسَبَتْit earnedوَهُمْand theyلَا(will) notيُظْلَمُونَbe wronged25
قُلِSayٱللَّهُمَّO AllahمَٰلِكَOwnerٱلْمُلْكِ(of) the DominionتُؤْتِىYou giveٱلْمُلْكَthe dominionمَن(to) whomتَشَآءُYou willوَتَنزِعُand You take awayٱلْمُلْكَthe dominionمِمَّنfrom whomتَشَآءُYou willوَتُعِزُّand You honorمَنwhomتَشَآءُYou willوَتُذِلُّand You humiliateمَنwhomتَشَآءُYou willبِيَدِكَIn Your handٱلْخَيْرُ(is all) the goodإِنَّكَIndeed, Youعَلَىٰ(are) onكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌAll-Powerful26
تُولِجُYou cause to enterٱلَّيْلَthe nightفِىinٱلنَّهَارِthe dayوَتُولِجُand You cause to enterٱلنَّهَارَthe dayفِىinٱلَّيْلِthe nightوَتُخْرِجُand You bring forthٱلْحَىَّthe livingمِنَfromٱلْمَيِّتِthe deadوَتُخْرِجُand You bring forthٱلْمَيِّتَthe deadمِنَfromٱلْحَىِّthe livingوَتَرْزُقُand You give provisionمَن(to) whomتَشَآءُYou willبِغَيْرِwithoutحِسَابٍmeasure27
لَّا(Let) notيَتَّخِذِtakeٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) alliesمِنfromدُونِinstead ofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersوَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatفَلَيْسَthen not he (has)مِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahفِىinشَىْءٍanythingإِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَتَّقُوا۟you fearمِنْهُمْfrom themتُقَىٰةً(as) a precautionوَيُحَذِّرُكُمُAnd warns youٱللَّهُAllahنَفْسَهُۥ(of) Himselfوَإِلَىand toٱللَّهِAllahٱلْمَصِيرُ(is) the final return28
قُلْSayإِنWhetherتُخْفُوا۟you concealمَاwhatفِى(is) inصُدُورِكُمْyour breastsأَوْorتُبْدُوهُyou disclose it يَعْلَمْهُknows itٱللَّهُAllahوَيَعْلَمُAnd He knowsمَاwhatفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whatفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلَىٰ(is) onكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌAll-Powerful29
يَوْمَ(On the) dayتَجِدُwill findكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulمَّاwhatعَمِلَتْit didمِنْofخَيْرٍgood مُّحْضَرًاpresentedوَمَاand whatعَمِلَتْit didمِنofسُوٓءٍevilتَوَدُّit will wishلَوْ[if]أَنَّthatبَيْنَهَاbetween itselfوَبَيْنَهُۥٓand between it (evil)أَمَدًۢا(was) a distanceبَعِيدًاgreatوَيُحَذِّرُكُمُAnd warns youٱللَّهُAllahنَفْسَهُۥ(against) Himselfوَٱللَّهُand Allahرَءُوفٌۢ(is) Most Kindبِٱلْعِبَادِto (His) [the] slaves30
قُلْSayإِنIfكُنتُمْyouتُحِبُّونَloveٱللَّهَAllahفَٱتَّبِعُونِىthen follow meيُحْبِبْكُمُwill love youٱللَّهُAllahوَيَغْفِرْand He will forgiveلَكُمْfor youذُنُوبَكُمْyour sinsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful31
قُلْSayأَطِيعُوا۟ObeyٱللَّهَAllahوَٱلرَّسُولَand the MessengerفَإِنThen ifتَوَلَّوْا۟they turn away فَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers32
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahٱصْطَفَىٰٓchoseءَادَمَAdamوَنُوحًاand Nuhوَءَالَand (the) familyإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahimوَءَالَand (the) familyعِمْرَٰنَ(of) Imranعَلَىoverٱلْعَٰلَمِينَthe worlds33
ذُرِّيَّةًۢDescendentsبَعْضُهَاsome of themمِنۢfromبَعْضٍothersوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing34
إِذْWhenقَالَتِ[she] saidٱمْرَأَتُ(the) wifeعِمْرَٰنَ(of) ImranرَبِّMy LordإِنِّىIndeed, Iنَذَرْتُ[I] vowedلَكَto Youمَاwhatفِى(is) inبَطْنِىmy wombمُحَرَّرًاdedicatedفَتَقَبَّلْso acceptمِنِّىٓfrom meإِنَّكَIndeed, YouأَنتَYouٱلسَّمِيعُ(are) the All-Hearingٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knowing35
فَلَمَّاThen whenوَضَعَتْهَاshe delivered herقَالَتْshe saidرَبِّMy Lordإِنِّىindeed Iوَضَعْتُهَآ[I] (have) delivered [her]أُنثَىٰa femaleوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahأَعْلَمُknows betterبِمَا[of] whatوَضَعَتْshe deliveredوَلَيْسَand is notٱلذَّكَرُthe maleكَٱلْأُنثَىٰlike the femaleوَإِنِّىAnd that Iسَمَّيْتُهَا[I] (have) named herمَرْيَمَMaryamوَإِنِّىٓand that Iأُعِيذُهَا[I] seek refuge for herبِكَin Youوَذُرِّيَّتَهَاand her offspringمِنَfromٱلشَّيْطَٰنِthe Shaitaanٱلرَّجِيمِthe rejected36
فَتَقَبَّلَهَاSo accepted herرَبُّهَاher Lordبِقَبُولٍwith acceptanceحَسَنٍgoodوَأَنۢبَتَهَاand reared her نَبَاتًاa rearingحَسَنًاgoodوَكَفَّلَهَاand put her in (the) careزَكَرِيَّا(of) ZakariyaكُلَّمَاWheneverدَخَلَenteredعَلَيْهَاupon herزَكَرِيَّاZakariyaٱلْمِحْرَابَ[the] prayer chamberوَجَدَhe foundعِندَهَاwith herرِزْقًاprovisionقَالَHe saidيَٰمَرْيَمُO MaryamأَنَّىٰFrom whereلَكِfor youهَٰذَا(is) thisقَالَتْShe saidهُوَThisمِنْ(is)عِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيَرْزُقُgives provisionمَن(to) whomيَشَآءُHe willsبِغَيْرِwithoutحِسَابٍmeasure37
هُنَالِكَThere onlyدَعَاinvokedزَكَرِيَّاZakariyaرَبَّهُۥhis Lordقَالَhe saidرَبِّMy Lordهَبْgrantلِى[for] meمِنfromلَّدُنكَYourselfذُرِّيَّةًoffspringطَيِّبَةًpureإِنَّكَIndeed, Youسَمِيعُ(are) All-Hearerٱلدُّعَآءِ(of) the prayer38
فَنَادَتْهُThen called himٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsوَهُوَwhen heقَآئِمٌ(was) standing يُصَلِّىprayingفِىinٱلْمِحْرَابِthe prayer chamberأَنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيُبَشِّرُكَgives you glad tidingsبِيَحْيَىٰof Yahyaمُصَدِّقًۢاconfirmingبِكَلِمَةٍ[of] a WordمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَسَيِّدًاand a nobleوَحَصُورًاand chasteوَنَبِيًّاand a Prophetمِّنَamongٱلصَّٰلِحِينَthe righteous39
قَالَHe saidرَبِّMy Lordأَنَّىٰhowيَكُونُcan (there) beلِىfor meغُلَٰمٌa sonوَقَدْand verilyبَلَغَنِىَhas reached meٱلْكِبَرُ[the] old ageوَٱمْرَأَتِىand my wifeعَاقِرٌ(is) [a] barrenقَالَHe saidكَذَٰلِكَThusٱللَّهُAllahيَفْعَلُdoesمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe wills40
قَالَHe saidرَبِّMy Lordٱجْعَلmakeلِّىٓfor meءَايَةًa signقَالَHe saidءَايَتُكَyour signأَلَّا(is) that notتُكَلِّمَyou will speakٱلنَّاسَ(to) the peopleثَلَٰثَةَ(for) threeأَيَّامٍdaysإِلَّاexceptرَمْزًا(with) gesturesوَٱذْكُرAnd rememberرَّبَّكَyour Lordكَثِيرًاmuchوَسَبِّحْand glorify (Him)بِٱلْعَشِىِّin the eveningوَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِand (in) the morning41
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَتِsaidٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe AngelsيَٰمَرْيَمُO MaryamإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahٱصْطَفَىٰكِ(has) chosen youوَطَهَّرَكِand purified youوَٱصْطَفَىٰكِand chosen youعَلَىٰoverنِسَآءِ(the) womenٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds42
يَٰمَرْيَمُO MaryamٱقْنُتِىBe obedientلِرَبِّكِto your Lordوَٱسْجُدِىand prostrateوَٱرْكَعِىand bow downمَعَwithٱلرَّٰكِعِينَthose who bow down43
ذَٰلِكَThatمِنْ(is) fromأَنۢبَآءِ(the) newsٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseen نُوحِيهِWe reveal itإِلَيْكَto youوَمَاAnd notكُنتَyou wereلَدَيْهِمْwith themإِذْwhenيُلْقُونَthey castأَقْلَٰمَهُمْtheir pensأَيُّهُمْ(as to) which of themيَكْفُلُtakes charge (of)مَرْيَمَMaryamوَمَاand notكُنتَyou wereلَدَيْهِمْwith themإِذْwhenيَخْتَصِمُونَthey (were) disputing44
إِذْWhenقَالَتِsaidٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe AngelsيَٰمَرْيَمُO MaryamإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيُبَشِّرُكِgives you glad tidingsبِكَلِمَةٍof a wordمِّنْهُfrom Himٱسْمُهُhis nameٱلْمَسِيحُ(is) the MessiahعِيسَىIsaٱبْنُsonمَرْيَمَ(of) Maryamوَجِيهًاhonoredفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand (in) the Hereafterوَمِنَand ofٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَthose brought near (to Allah)45
وَيُكَلِّمُAnd he will speakٱلنَّاسَ(to) the peopleفِىinٱلْمَهْدِthe cradleوَكَهْلًاand (in) maturityوَمِنَand (he will be) ofٱلصَّٰلِحِينَthe righteous46
قَالَتْShe saidرَبِّMy Lordأَنَّىٰhowيَكُونُis [it]لِىfor meوَلَدٌa boyوَلَمْand (has) notيَمْسَسْنِىtouch(ed) meبَشَرٌany manقَالَHe saidكَذَٰلِكِThusٱللَّهُAllahيَخْلُقُcreatesمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe willsإِذَاWhenقَضَىٰٓHe decreesأَمْرًاa matterفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyيَقُولُHe saysلَهُۥto itكُنBeفَيَكُونُand it becomes47
وَيُعَلِّمُهُAnd He will teach himٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلْحِكْمَةَand [the] wisdomوَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَand the Tauratوَٱلْإِنجِيلَand the Injeel48
وَرَسُولًاAnd (make him) a Messengerإِلَىٰtoبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) IsraelأَنِّىIndeed, Iقَدْ[surely]جِئْتُكُم[I] (have) come (to) youبِـَٔايَةٍwith a signمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordأَنِّىٓthat Iأَخْلُقُ[I] designلَكُمfor youمِّنَfromٱلطِّينِ[the] clayكَهَيْـَٔةِlike the formٱلطَّيْرِ(of) the birdفَأَنفُخُthen I breathفِيهِinto itفَيَكُونُand it becomesطَيْرًۢاa birdبِإِذْنِby (the) permissionٱللَّهِ(of) AllahوَأُبْرِئُAnd I cureٱلْأَكْمَهَthe blindوَٱلْأَبْرَصَand the leperوَأُحْىِand I give lifeٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadبِإِذْنِby (the) permissionٱللَّهِ(of) AllahوَأُنَبِّئُكُمAnd I inform youبِمَاof whatتَأْكُلُونَyou eatوَمَاand whatتَدَّخِرُونَyou storeفِىinبُيُوتِكُمْyour housesإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةً(is) surely a signلَّكُمْfor youإِنifكُنتُمyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers49
وَمُصَدِّقًاAnd confirmingلِّمَاthat whichبَيْنَ(was)يَدَىَّbefore meمِنَofٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِthe Tauratوَلِأُحِلَّand so that I make lawfulلَكُمfor youبَعْضَsomeٱلَّذِى(of) that whichحُرِّمَwas forbiddenعَلَيْكُمْto youوَجِئْتُكُمAnd I (have) come to youبِـَٔايَةٍwith a signمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordفَٱتَّقُوا۟So fearٱللَّهَAllahوَأَطِيعُونِand obey me50
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahرَبِّى(is) my Lordوَرَبُّكُمْand your Lordفَٱعْبُدُوهُso worship HimهَٰذَاThisصِرَٰطٌ(is) the pathمُّسْتَقِيمٌstraight51
فَلَمَّآThen whenأَحَسَّperceivedعِيسَىٰIsaمِنْهُمُfrom themٱلْكُفْرَ[the] disbeliefقَالَhe saidمَنْWhoأَنصَارِىٓ(will be) my helpersإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahقَالَSaidٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَthe disciplesنَحْنُWeأَنصَارُ(will be the) helpersٱللَّهِ(of) Allahءَامَنَّاwe believe[d]بِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱشْهَدْand bear witnessبِأَنَّاthat weمُسْلِمُونَ(are) Muslims52
رَبَّنَآOur Lordءَامَنَّاwe believe[d]بِمَآin whatأَنزَلْتَYou revealedوَٱتَّبَعْنَاand we follow[ed]ٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَٱكْتُبْنَاthen write usمَعَamongٱلشَّٰهِدِينَthe witnesses53
وَمَكَرُوا۟And they schemedوَمَكَرَand plannedٱللَّهُAllahوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahخَيْرُ(is the) bestٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ(of) the planners54
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidٱللَّهُAllahيَٰعِيسَىٰٓO IsaإِنِّىIndeed, Iمُتَوَفِّيكَ(will) take youوَرَافِعُكَand raise youإِلَىَّto Myselfوَمُطَهِّرُكَand purify youمِنَfromٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]وَجَاعِلُand I will makeٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱتَّبَعُوكَfollow[ed] youفَوْقَsuperiorٱلَّذِينَ(to) those whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieve[d]إِلَىٰonيَوْمِ(the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) [the] ResurrectionثُمَّThenإِلَىَّto Meمَرْجِعُكُمْ(is) your returnفَأَحْكُمُand I will judgeبَيْنَكُمْbetween youفِيمَاabout whatكُنتُمْyou wereفِيهِ[in it]تَخْتَلِفُونَdiffering55
فَأَمَّاThen as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْthen I will punish themعَذَابًا(with) a punishmentشَدِيدًاsevereفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand (in) the HereafterوَمَاAnd notلَهُمfor themمِّنanyنَّٰصِرِينَhelpers56
وَأَمَّاAnd as forٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ[the] righteous deedsفَيُوَفِّيهِمْthen He will grant them in fullأُجُورَهُمْtheir rewardوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers57
ذَٰلِكَThatنَتْلُوهُ(is what) We recite [it]عَلَيْكَto youمِنَofٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Versesوَٱلذِّكْرِand the Reminder ٱلْحَكِيمِ[the] Wise58
إِنَّIndeedمَثَلَ(the) likenessعِيسَىٰ(of) IsaعِندَnearٱللَّهِAllahكَمَثَلِ(is) like (the) likenessءَادَمَ(of) AdamخَلَقَهُۥHe created himمِنfromتُرَابٍdustثُمَّthenقَالَHe saidلَهُۥto himكُنBeفَيَكُونُand he was59
ٱلْحَقُّThe truthمِن(is) fromرَّبِّكَyour Lordفَلَاso (do) notتَكُنbeمِّنَamongٱلْمُمْتَرِينَthe doubters60
فَمَنْThen whoeverحَآجَّكَargues (with) youفِيهِconcerning itمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterمَاwhatجَآءَكَcame to youمِنَofٱلْعِلْمِthe knowledgeفَقُلْthen sayتَعَالَوْا۟Comeنَدْعُlet us callأَبْنَآءَنَاour sonsوَأَبْنَآءَكُمْand your sonsوَنِسَآءَنَاand our womenوَنِسَآءَكُمْand your womenوَأَنفُسَنَاand ourselvesوَأَنفُسَكُمْand yourselvesثُمَّthenنَبْتَهِلْlet us pray humblyفَنَجْعَلand [we] invokeلَّعْنَتَthe curseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَىonٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars61
إِنَّIndeedهَٰذَاthisلَهُوَsurely it (is)ٱلْقَصَصُthe narration ٱلْحَقُّ[the] trueوَمَاAnd (there is) noمِنْ(of)إِلَٰهٍgodإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهُAllahوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱللَّهَAllahلَهُوَsurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise62
فَإِنAnd ifتَوَلَّوْا۟they turn backفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلِيمٌۢ(is) All-Knowingبِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَof the corrupters63
قُلْSayيَٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookتَعَالَوْا۟Comeإِلَىٰtoكَلِمَةٍa wordسَوَآءٍۢequitableبَيْنَنَاbetween usوَبَيْنَكُمْand between you أَلَّاthat notنَعْبُدَwe worshipإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهَAllahوَلَاand notنُشْرِكَwe associate partnersبِهِۦwith Him شَيْـًٔاanythingوَلَاand notيَتَّخِذَtakeبَعْضُنَاsome of usبَعْضًا(to) othersأَرْبَابًا(as) lordsمِّنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahفَإِنThen ifتَوَلَّوْا۟they turn awayفَقُولُوا۟then sayٱشْهَدُوا۟Bear witnessبِأَنَّاthat weمُسْلِمُونَ(are) Muslims64
يَٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the BookلِمَWhyتُحَآجُّونَ(do) you argueفِىٓconcerningإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahimوَمَآwhile notأُنزِلَتِwas revealedٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُthe Tauratوَٱلْإِنجِيلُand the Injeelإِلَّاexceptمِنۢfromبَعْدِهِۦٓafter himأَفَلَاThen why don'tتَعْقِلُونَyou use your intellect65
هَٰٓأَنتُمْHere you are هَٰٓؤُلَآءِthose whoحَٰجَجْتُمْarguedفِيمَاabout whatلَكُم[for] youبِهِۦof itعِلْمٌ(have some) knowledgeفَلِمَThen whyتُحَآجُّونَ(do) you argueفِيمَاabout whatلَيْسَnotلَكُمfor youبِهِۦof itعِلْمٌ(any) knowledgeوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَعْلَمُknowsوَأَنتُمْwhile youلَا(do) notتَعْلَمُونَknow66
مَاNotكَانَwasإِبْرَٰهِيمُIbrahimيَهُودِيًّاa Jewوَلَاand notنَصْرَانِيًّاa Christianوَلَٰكِن[and] butكَانَhe wasحَنِيفًاa trueمُّسْلِمًاMuslimوَمَاand notكَانَhe wasمِنَfromٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists67
إِنَّIndeedأَوْلَىthe best to claim relationshipٱلنَّاسِ(of) peopleبِإِبْرَٰهِيمَwith Ibrahimلَلَّذِينَ(are) those whoٱتَّبَعُوهُfollow himوَهَٰذَاand thisٱلنَّبِىُّ[the] Prophetوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahوَلِىُّ(is) a Guardianٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believers68
وَدَّتWishedطَّآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنْfromأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookلَوْifيُضِلُّونَكُمْthey could lead you astrayوَمَاand notيُضِلُّونَthey lead astrayإِلَّآexceptأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesوَمَاand notيَشْعُرُونَthey perceive69
يَٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the BookلِمَWhy doتَكْفُرُونَyou denyبِـَٔايَٰتِ[in] the Signsٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَأَنتُمْwhile youتَشْهَدُونَbear witness70
يَٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the BookلِمَWhyتَلْبِسُونَdo you mixٱلْحَقَّthe truthبِٱلْبَٰطِلِwith the falsehoodوَتَكْتُمُونَand concealٱلْحَقَّthe truthوَأَنتُمْwhile youتَعْلَمُونَknow71
وَقَالَتAnd saidطَّآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنْofأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookءَامِنُوا۟Believeبِٱلَّذِىٓin whatأُنزِلَwas revealedعَلَىonٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَجْهَ(at the) beginningٱلنَّهَارِ(of) the dayوَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟and rejectءَاخِرَهُۥ(at) its endلَعَلَّهُمْperhaps they mayيَرْجِعُونَreturn72
وَلَاAnd (do) notتُؤْمِنُوٓا۟believeإِلَّاexceptلِمَن(the one) whoتَبِعَfollowsدِينَكُمْyour religionقُلْSayإِنَّIndeedٱلْهُدَىٰthe (true) guidanceهُدَى(is the) Guidanceٱللَّهِ(of) Allah أَنlestيُؤْتَىٰٓis givenأَحَدٌ(to) one مِّثْلَ(the) likeمَآ(of) whatأُوتِيتُمْwas given to youأَوْorيُحَآجُّوكُمْthey may argue with youعِندَnearرَبِّكُمْyour LordقُلْSayإِنَّIndeedٱلْفَضْلَthe Bountyبِيَدِ(is) in the Handٱللَّهِ(of) AllahيُؤْتِيهِHe gives itمَن(to) whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَٱللَّهُand Allahوَٰسِعٌ(is) All-EncompassingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing73
يَخْتَصُّHe choosesبِرَحْمَتِهِۦfor His MercyمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahذُو(is) the Possessorٱلْفَضْلِ(of) Bounty ٱلْعَظِيمِ[the] great74
وَمِنْAnd fromأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookمَنْ(is he) whoإِنifتَأْمَنْهُyou entrust himبِقِنطَارٍwith a great amount of wealthيُؤَدِّهِۦٓhe will return itإِلَيْكَto youوَمِنْهُمAnd from themمَّنْ(is he) whoإِنifتَأْمَنْهُyou entrust himبِدِينَارٍwith a single coinلَّاnotيُؤَدِّهِۦٓhe will return itإِلَيْكَto youإِلَّاexceptمَاthatدُمْتَyou keep constantlyعَلَيْهِover himقَآئِمًاstandingذَٰلِكَThatبِأَنَّهُمْ(is) because theyقَالُوا۟saidلَيْسَNotعَلَيْنَاon usفِىconcerningٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَthe unlettered peopleسَبِيلٌany [way] (accountability)وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahٱلْكَذِبَthe lieوَهُمْwhile theyيَعْلَمُونَknow75
بَلَىٰNayمَنْwhoeverأَوْفَىٰfulfillsبِعَهْدِهِۦhis covenantوَٱتَّقَىٰand fears (Allah)فَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahيُحِبُّlovesٱلْمُتَّقِينَthose who fear (Him)76
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَشْتَرُونَexchangeبِعَهْدِ(the) Covenantٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْand their oathsثَمَنًا(for) a priceقَلِيلًاlittleأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthose لَاnoخَلَٰقَshareلَهُمْfor themفِىinٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterوَلَاand notيُكَلِّمُهُمُwill speak to themٱللَّهُAllahوَلَاand notيَنظُرُlookإِلَيْهِمْat themيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionوَلَاand notيُزَكِّيهِمْpurify themوَلَهُمْand for themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful77
وَإِنَّAnd indeedمِنْهُمْamong themلَفَرِيقًاsurely (is) a group يَلْوُۥنَthey distortأَلْسِنَتَهُمtheir tonguesبِٱلْكِتَٰبِin (reciting) the Bookلِتَحْسَبُوهُso that you may think itمِنَ(is) fromٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookوَمَاand notهُوَitمِنَ(is) fromٱلْكِتَٰبِthe BookوَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayهُوَItمِنْ(is)عِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahوَمَاBut notهُوَitمِنْ(is)عِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahوَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahٱلْكَذِبَthe lieوَهُمْwhile theyيَعْلَمُونَknow78
مَاNotكَانَisلِبَشَرٍfor a humanأَنthatيُؤْتِيَهُgives himٱللَّهُAllahٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلْحُكْمَand the wisdomوَٱلنُّبُوَّةَand the Prophethoodثُمَّthenيَقُولَhe saysلِلنَّاسِto the peopleكُونُوا۟Beعِبَادًاworshippersلِّىof meمِنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahوَلَٰكِنbut (would say)كُونُوا۟Beرَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَworshippers of the Lordبِمَاbecauseكُنتُمْyou have beenتُعَلِّمُونَteachingٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَبِمَاand becauseكُنتُمْyou have beenتَدْرُسُونَstudying (it)79
وَلَاAnd notيَأْمُرَكُمْhe will order youأَنthatتَتَّخِذُوا۟you takeٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsوَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَand the Prophetsأَرْبَابًا(as) lordsأَيَأْمُرُكُمWould he order youبِٱلْكُفْرِto [the] disbeliefبَعْدَafterإِذْ[when]أَنتُمyou (have become)مُّسْلِمُونَMuslims80
وَإِذْAnd whenأَخَذَtookٱللَّهُAllahمِيثَٰقَcovenantٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ(of) the ProphetsلَمَآCertainly, whateverءَاتَيْتُكُمI (have) given youمِّنofكِتَٰبٍ(the) Bookوَحِكْمَةٍand wisdomثُمَّthenجَآءَكُمْcomes to youرَسُولٌa Messengerمُّصَدِّقٌconfirmingلِّمَاthat whichمَعَكُمْ(is) with youلَتُؤْمِنُنَّyou must believeبِهِۦin himوَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥand you must help himقَالَHe saidءَأَقْرَرْتُمْDo you affirmوَأَخَذْتُمْand takeعَلَىٰonذَٰلِكُمْthat (condition)إِصْرِىMy Covenantقَالُوٓا۟They saidأَقْرَرْنَاWe affirmقَالَHe saidفَٱشْهَدُوا۟Then bear witnessوَأَنَاand I (am)مَعَكُمwith youمِّنَamongٱلشَّٰهِدِينَthe witnesses81
فَمَنThen whoeverتَوَلَّىٰturns awayبَعْدَafterذَٰلِكَthatفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُtheyٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ(are) the defiantly disobedient82
أَفَغَيْرَSo is (it) other thanدِينِ(the) religionٱللَّهِ(of) Allahيَبْغُونَthey seekوَلَهُۥٓWhile to Himأَسْلَمَ(have) submittedمَنwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthطَوْعًاwillinglyوَكَرْهًاor unwillinglyوَإِلَيْهِand towards Himيُرْجَعُونَthey will be returned83
قُلْSayءَامَنَّاWe believedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَ(is) revealedعَلَيْنَاon usوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedعَلَىٰٓonإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahimوَإِسْمَٰعِيلَand Ishmaelوَإِسْحَٰقَand Isaacوَيَعْقُوبَand Yaqubوَٱلْأَسْبَاطِand the descendentsوَمَآand whatأُوتِىَwas givenمُوسَىٰ(to) Musaوَعِيسَىٰand Isaوَٱلنَّبِيُّونَand the Prophetsمِنfromرَّبِّهِمْtheir LordلَاNotنُفَرِّقُwe make distinctionبَيْنَbetweenأَحَدٍanyمِّنْهُمْof themوَنَحْنُand weلَهُۥto Himمُسْلِمُونَ(are) submissive84
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَبْتَغِseeksغَيْرَother thanٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ[the] Islamدِينًا(as) religionفَلَنthen neverيُقْبَلَwill be acceptedمِنْهُfrom himوَهُوَand heفِىinٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterمِنَ(will be) fromٱلْخَٰسِرِينَthe losers85
كَيْفَHowيَهْدِى(shall) guideٱللَّهُAllahقَوْمًاa peopleكَفَرُوا۟(who) disbelievedبَعْدَafterإِيمَٰنِهِمْtheir beliefوَشَهِدُوٓا۟and (had) witnessedأَنَّthatٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerحَقٌّ(is) trueوَجَآءَهُمُand came to themٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُthe clear proofsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىguideٱلْقَوْمَthe peopleٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ[the] wrongdoers86
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose جَزَآؤُهُمْtheir recompenseأَنَّthatعَلَيْهِمْon themلَعْنَةَ(is the) curseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِand the Angelsوَٱلنَّاسِand the peopleأَجْمَعِينَall together87
خَٰلِدِينَ(They will) abide foreverفِيهَاin itلَاNotيُخَفَّفُwill be lightenedعَنْهُمُfor themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيُنظَرُونَwill be reprieved88
إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoتَابُوا۟repentمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterذَٰلِكَthatوَأَصْلَحُوا۟and reform[ed] themselvesفَإِنَّThen indeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful89
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedبَعْدَafterإِيمَٰنِهِمْtheir beliefثُمَّthenٱزْدَادُوا۟they increasedكُفْرًا(in) disbeliefلَّنneverتُقْبَلَwill be acceptedتَوْبَتُهُمْtheir repentanceوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَand those هُمُtheyٱلضَّآلُّونَ(are) those who have gone astray90
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]وَمَاتُوا۟and diedوَهُمْwhile theyكُفَّارٌ(are) disbelieversفَلَنthen neverيُقْبَلَwill be acceptedمِنْfromأَحَدِهِمany one of themمِّلْءُfullٱلْأَرْضِearthذَهَبًا(of) goldوَلَوِ[and] (even) ifٱفْتَدَىٰhe offered as ransomبِهِۦٓitأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose لَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌpainfulوَمَاand notلَهُم(will be) for themمِّنanyنَّٰصِرِينَhelpers91
لَنNeverتَنَالُوا۟will you attainٱلْبِرَّ[the] righteousnessحَتَّىٰuntilتُنفِقُوا۟you spendمِمَّاfrom whatتُحِبُّونَyou loveوَمَاAnd whateverتُنفِقُوا۟you spendمِنofشَىْءٍa thingفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahبِهِۦof itعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knowing92
