وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيَرْجُونَexpectلِقَآءَنَا(the) meeting with UsلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَare sent downعَلَيْنَاto usٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsأَوْorنَرَىٰwe seeرَبَّنَاour LordلَقَدِIndeedٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟they have become arrogantفِىٓwithinأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesوَعَتَوْand (become) insolentعُتُوًّا(with) insolenceكَبِيرًاgreat21
يَوْمَ(The) Dayيَرَوْنَthey seeٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsلَاnoبُشْرَىٰglad tidingsيَوْمَئِذٍ(will be) that Dayلِّلْمُجْرِمِينَfor the criminalsوَيَقُولُونَand they will sayحِجْرًاA partitionمَّحْجُورًاforbidden22
وَقَدِمْنَآAnd We will proceedإِلَىٰtoمَاwhateverعَمِلُوا۟they didمِنْofعَمَلٍ(the) deed(s)فَجَعَلْنَٰهُand We will make themهَبَآءً(as) dustمَّنثُورًاdispersed23
أَصْحَٰبُ(The) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayخَيْرٌ(will be in) a betterمُّسْتَقَرًّاabodeوَأَحْسَنُand a betterمَقِيلًاresting-place24
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَشَقَّقُwill split openٱلسَّمَآءُthe heavensبِٱلْغَمَٰمِwith the cloudsوَنُزِّلَand (will be) sent downٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsتَنزِيلًاdescending25
ٱلْمُلْكُThe Sovereigntyيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayٱلْحَقُّ(will be) trulyلِلرَّحْمَٰنِfor the Most GraciousوَكَانَAnd (it will) beيَوْمًاa Dayعَلَىforٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversعَسِيرًاdifficult26
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayيَعَضُّwill biteٱلظَّالِمُthe wrongdoerعَلَىٰ[on]يَدَيْهِhis handsيَقُولُhe will sayيَٰلَيْتَنِىO I wishٱتَّخَذْتُI had takenمَعَwithٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerسَبِيلًاa way27
يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰO woe to meلَيْتَنِىI wishلَمْnotأَتَّخِذْI had takenفُلَانًاthat oneخَلِيلًا(as) a friend28
لَّقَدْVerilyأَضَلَّنِىhe led me astrayعَنِfromٱلذِّكْرِthe Reminderبَعْدَafterإِذْ[when]جَآءَنِىit (had) come to meوَكَانَAnd isٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanلِلْإِنسَٰنِto the manخَذُولًاa deserter29
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلرَّسُولُthe MessengerيَٰرَبِّO my LordإِنَّIndeedقَوْمِىmy peopleٱتَّخَذُوا۟tookهَٰذَاthisٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranمَهْجُورًا(as) a forsaken thing30
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusجَعَلْنَاWe have madeلِكُلِّfor everyنَبِىٍّProphetعَدُوًّاan enemyمِّنَamongٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsوَكَفَىٰBut sufficient isبِرَبِّكَyour Lordهَادِيًا(as) a Guideوَنَصِيرًاand a Helper31
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَوْلَاWhy notنُزِّلَwas revealedعَلَيْهِto himٱلْقُرْءَانُthe Quranجُمْلَةًall at onceوَٰحِدَةًall at onceكَذَٰلِكَThusلِنُثَبِّتَthat We may strengthenبِهِۦtherebyفُؤَادَكَyour heartوَرَتَّلْنَٰهُand We have recited itتَرْتِيلًا(with distinct) recitation32
وَلَاAnd notيَأْتُونَكَthey come to youبِمَثَلٍwith an exampleإِلَّاbutجِئْنَٰكَWe bring youبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthوَأَحْسَنَand (the) bestتَفْسِيرًاexplanation33
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُحْشَرُونَwill be gatheredعَلَىٰonوُجُوهِهِمْtheir facesإِلَىٰtoجَهَنَّمَHellأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseشَرٌّ(are the) worstمَّكَانًا(in) positionوَأَضَلُّand most astrayسَبِيلًا(from the) way34
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Scriptureوَجَعَلْنَاand We appointedمَعَهُۥٓwith himأَخَاهُhis brotherهَٰرُونَHarunوَزِيرًا(as) an assistant35
فَقُلْنَاThen We saidٱذْهَبَآGo both of youإِلَىtoٱلْقَوْمِthe peopleٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَذَّبُوا۟have deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur SignsفَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْThen We destroyed themتَدْمِيرًا(with) destruction36
وَقَوْمَAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍ(of) Nuhلَّمَّاwhenكَذَّبُوا۟they deniedٱلرُّسُلَthe MessengersأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْWe drowned themوَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْand We made themلِلنَّاسِfor mankindءَايَةًa signوَأَعْتَدْنَاAnd We have preparedلِلظَّٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoersعَذَابًاa punishmentأَلِيمًاpainful37
وَعَادًاAnd Adوَثَمُودَا۟and Thamudوَأَصْحَٰبَand (the) dwellersٱلرَّسِّ(of) Ar-rassوَقُرُونًۢاand generationsبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthatكَثِيرًاmany38
وَكُلًّاAnd eachضَرَبْنَاWe have set forthلَهُfor himٱلْأَمْثَٰلَthe examplesوَكُلًّاand eachتَبَّرْنَاWe destroyedتَتْبِيرًا(with) destruction39
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَتَوْا۟they have comeعَلَىuponٱلْقَرْيَةِthe townٱلَّتِىٓwhichأُمْطِرَتْwas showeredمَطَرَ(with) a rainٱلسَّوْءِ(of) evilأَفَلَمْThen do notيَكُونُوا۟they [were]يَرَوْنَهَاsee itبَلْNayكَانُوا۟they areلَاnotيَرْجُونَexpectingنُشُورًاResurrection40
وَإِذَاAnd whenرَأَوْكَthey see youإِنnotيَتَّخِذُونَكَthey take youإِلَّاexceptهُزُوًا(in) mockeryأَهَٰذَاIs thisٱلَّذِىthe one whomبَعَثَAllah has sentٱللَّهُAllah has sentرَسُولًا(as) a Messenger41
إِنHe would have almostكَادَHe would have almostلَيُضِلُّنَا[surely] misled usعَنْfromءَالِهَتِنَاour godsلَوْلَآif notأَنthatصَبَرْنَاwe had been steadfastعَلَيْهَاto themوَسَوْفَAnd soonيَعْلَمُونَwill knowحِينَwhenيَرَوْنَthey will seeٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentمَنْwhoأَضَلُّ(is) more astrayسَبِيلًا(from the) way42
أَرَءَيْتَHave you seenمَنِ(one) whoٱتَّخَذَtakesإِلَٰهَهُۥ(as) his godهَوَىٰهُhis own desireأَفَأَنتَThen would youتَكُونُbeعَلَيْهِover himوَكِيلًاa guardian43
أَمْOrتَحْسَبُdo you thinkأَنَّthatأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themيَسْمَعُونَhearأَوْorيَعْقِلُونَunderstandإِنْNotهُمْtheyإِلَّا(are) exceptكَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِlike cattleبَلْNayهُمْtheyأَضَلُّ(are) more astrayسَبِيلًا(from the) way44
أَلَمْDo you notتَرَseeإِلَىٰ[to]رَبِّكَyour LordكَيْفَhowمَدَّHe extendsٱلظِّلَّthe shadowوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَHe willedلَجَعَلَهُۥsurely He (could) have made itسَاكِنًاstationaryثُمَّThenجَعَلْنَاWe madeٱلشَّمْسَthe sunعَلَيْهِfor itدَلِيلًاan indication45
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeلَكُمُfor youٱلَّيْلَthe nightلِبَاسًا(as) a coveringوَٱلنَّوْمَand the sleepسُبَاتًاa restوَجَعَلَand madeٱلنَّهَارَthe dayنُشُورًاa resurrection47
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَsendsٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windsبُشْرًۢا(as) glad tidingsبَيْنَbeforeيَدَىْbeforeرَحْمَتِهِۦHis Mercyوَأَنزَلْنَاand We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterطَهُورًاpure48
لِّنُحْۦِىَThat We may give lifeبِهِۦtherebyبَلْدَةً(to) a landمَّيْتًاdeadوَنُسْقِيَهُۥand We give drinkمِمَّاthereofخَلَقْنَآ(to those) We createdأَنْعَٰمًاcattleوَأَنَاسِىَّand menكَثِيرًاmany49
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyصَرَّفْنَٰهُWe have distributed itبَيْنَهُمْamong themلِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟that they may rememberفَأَبَىٰٓbut refuseأَكْثَرُmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peopleإِلَّاexceptكُفُورًاdisbelief50
وَلَوْAnd ifشِئْنَاWe willedلَبَعَثْنَاsurely, We (would) have raisedفِىinكُلِّeveryقَرْيَةٍtownنَّذِيرًاa warner51
فَلَاSo (do) notتُطِعِobeyٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَجَٰهِدْهُمand strive (against) themبِهِۦwith itجِهَادًاa strivingكَبِيرًاgreat52
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoمَرَجَ(has) releasedٱلْبَحْرَيْنِthe two seasهَٰذَا[this] (one)عَذْبٌpalatableفُرَاتٌand sweetوَهَٰذَاand [this] (one)مِلْحٌsaltyأُجَاجٌ(and) bitterوَجَعَلَand He has madeبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themبَرْزَخًاa barrierوَحِجْرًاand a partitionمَّحْجُورًاforbidden53
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَhas createdمِنَfromٱلْمَآءِthe waterبَشَرًاhuman beingفَجَعَلَهُۥand has made (for) himنَسَبًاblood relationshipوَصِهْرًاand marriage relationshipوَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordقَدِيرًاAll-Powerful54
وَيَعْبُدُونَBut they worshipمِنbesides Allahدُونِbesides Allahٱللَّهِbesides Allahمَاwhatلَاnot profits themيَنفَعُهُمْnot profits themوَلَاand notيَضُرُّهُمْharms themوَكَانَand isٱلْكَافِرُthe disbelieverعَلَىٰagainstرَبِّهِۦhis Lordظَهِيرًاa helper55
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَٰكَWe sent youإِلَّاexceptمُبَشِّرًا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاand a warner56
قُلْSayمَآNotأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِلَّاexceptمَن(that) whoever willsشَآءَ(that) whoever willsأَنtoيَتَّخِذَtakeإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِۦhis Lordسَبِيلًاa way57
وَتَوَكَّلْAnd put your trustعَلَىinٱلْحَىِّthe Ever-Livingٱلَّذِىthe One Whoلَاdoes not dieيَمُوتُdoes not dieوَسَبِّحْand glorifyبِحَمْدِهِۦwith His PraiseوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient isبِهِۦHeبِذُنُوبِregarding the sinsعِبَادِهِۦ(of) His slavesخَبِيرًاAll-Aware58
ٱلَّذِىThe One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَا(is) between themفِىinسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍperiodsثُمَّthenٱسْتَوَىٰHe established Himselfعَلَىoverٱلْعَرْشِthe Throne ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most Graciousفَسْـَٔلْso askبِهِۦHimخَبِيرًا(as He is) All-Aware59
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themٱسْجُدُوا۟Prostrateلِلرَّحْمَٰنِto the Most Graciousقَالُوا۟They sayوَمَاAnd whatٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ(is) the Most GraciousأَنَسْجُدُShould we prostrateلِمَاto whatتَأْمُرُنَاyou order usوَزَادَهُمْAnd it increases themنُفُورًا(in) aversion60
تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoجَعَلَhas placedفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe skiesبُرُوجًاconstellationsوَجَعَلَand has placedفِيهَاthereinسِرَٰجًاa lampوَقَمَرًاand a moonمُّنِيرًاshining61
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the dayخِلْفَةً(in) successionلِّمَنْfor whoeverأَرَادَdesiresأَنtoيَذَّكَّرَrememberأَوْorأَرَادَdesiresشُكُورًاto be thankful62
وَعِبَادُAnd (the) slavesٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ(of) the Most Graciousٱلَّذِينَ(are) those whoيَمْشُونَwalkعَلَىonٱلْأَرْضِthe earthهَوْنًا(in) humblenessوَإِذَاand whenخَاطَبَهُمُaddress themٱلْجَٰهِلُونَthe ignorant onesقَالُوا۟they sayسَلَٰمًاPeace63
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَبِيتُونَspend (the) nightلِرَبِّهِمْbefore their Lordسُجَّدًاprostratingوَقِيَٰمًاand standing64
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordٱصْرِفْAvertعَنَّاfrom usعَذَابَthe punishmentجَهَنَّمَ(of) HellإِنَّIndeedعَذَابَهَاits punishmentكَانَisغَرَامًاinseparable65
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَآwhenأَنفَقُوا۟they spendلَمْ(are) not extravagantيُسْرِفُوا۟(are) not extravagantوَلَمْand are not stingyيَقْتُرُوا۟and are not stingyوَكَانَbut areبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthat قَوَامًاmoderate67
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَدْعُونَinvokeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodءَاخَرَanotherوَلَاand (do) notيَقْتُلُونَ[they] killٱلنَّفْسَthe soulٱلَّتِىwhichحَرَّمَAllah has forbiddenٱللَّهُAllah has forbiddenإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّby rightوَلَاand (do) notيَزْنُونَcommit unlawful sexual intercourseوَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatيَلْقَwill meetأَثَامًاa penalty68
يُضَٰعَفْWill be doubledلَهُfor himٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) Resurrectionوَيَخْلُدْand he will abide foreverفِيهِۦthereinمُهَانًاhumiliated69
إِلَّاExceptمَن(he) whoتَابَrepentsوَءَامَنَand believesوَعَمِلَand doesعَمَلًاrighteous deedsصَٰلِحًاrighteous deedsفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen (for) thoseيُبَدِّلُAllah will replaceٱللَّهُAllah will replaceسَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْtheir evil deedsحَسَنَٰتٍ(with) good onesوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful70
وَمَنAnd whoeverتَابَrepentsوَعَمِلَand doesصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)فَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heيَتُوبُturnsإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahمَتَابًا(with) repentance71
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَشْهَدُونَbear witnessٱلزُّورَ(to) the falsehoodوَإِذَاand whenمَرُّوا۟they passبِٱللَّغْوِby futilityمَرُّوا۟they passكِرَامًا(as) dignified ones72
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَاwhenذُكِّرُوا۟they are remindedبِـَٔايَٰتِof (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordلَمْ(do) notيَخِرُّوا۟fallعَلَيْهَاupon themصُمًّاdeafوَعُمْيَانًاand blind73
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordهَبْGrantلَنَاto usمِنْfromأَزْوَٰجِنَاour spousesوَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَاand our offspringقُرَّةَcomfortأَعْيُنٍ(to) our eyesوَٱجْعَلْنَاand make usلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteousإِمَامًاa leader74
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseيُجْزَوْنَwill be awardedٱلْغُرْفَةَthe Chamberبِمَاbecauseصَبَرُوا۟they were patientوَيُلَقَّوْنَand they will be metفِيهَاthereinتَحِيَّةً(with) greetingsوَسَلَٰمًاand peace75
خَٰلِدِينَWill abide foreverفِيهَاin itحَسُنَتْGoodمُسْتَقَرًّا(is) the settlementوَمُقَامًاand a resting place76
قُلْSayمَاNotيَعْبَؤُا۟will careبِكُمْfor youرَبِّىmy Lordلَوْلَاif notدُعَآؤُكُمْyour prayer (is to Him)فَقَدْBut verilyكَذَّبْتُمْyou have deniedفَسَوْفَso soonيَكُونُwill beلِزَامًۢاthe inevitable (punishment)77

فَقَدْSo verilyكَذَّبُوا۟they have deniedفَسَيَأْتِيهِمْthen will come to themأَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟the newsمَا(of) whatكَانُوا۟they usedبِهِۦat itيَسْتَهْزِءُونَ(to) mock6
أَوَلَمْDo notيَرَوْا۟they seeإِلَىatٱلْأَرْضِthe earth كَمْhow manyأَنۢبَتْنَاWe producedفِيهَاin itمِنofكُلِّeveryزَوْجٍkindكَرِيمٍnoble7
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely (is) a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers8
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful9
وَإِذْAnd whenنَادَىٰyour Lord calledرَبُّكَyour Lord calledمُوسَىٰٓMusaأَنِ[that]ٱئْتِGoٱلْقَوْمَ(to) the peopleٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ(who are) wrongdoers10
وَيَضِيقُAnd straitensصَدْرِىmy breastوَلَاand notيَنطَلِقُexpresses wellلِسَانِىmy tongueفَأَرْسِلْso sendإِلَىٰforهَٰرُونَHarun13
وَلَهُمْAnd they haveعَلَىَّagainst meذَنۢبٌa crimeفَأَخَافُso I fearأَنthatيَقْتُلُونِthey will kill me14
قَالَHe saidكَلَّاNayفَٱذْهَبَاgo both of youبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآwith Our SignsإِنَّاIndeed, Weمَعَكُم(are) with youمُّسْتَمِعُونَlistening15
فَأْتِيَاSo go both of youفِرْعَوْنَ(to) Firaunفَقُولَآand sayإِنَّا'Indeed, weرَسُولُ(are the) Messengerرَبِّ(of the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds16
أَنْ[That]أَرْسِلْsendمَعَنَاwith usبَنِىٓ(the) Children of Israel.'إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(the) Children of Israel.'17
قَالَHe saidأَلَمْDid notنُرَبِّكَwe bring you upفِينَاamong usوَلِيدًا(as) a childوَلَبِثْتَand you remainedفِينَاamong usمِنْofعُمُرِكَyour lifeسِنِينَyears18
وَفَعَلْتَAnd you didفَعْلَتَكَyour deedٱلَّتِىwhichفَعَلْتَyou didوَأَنتَand youمِنَ(were) ofٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe ungrateful19
فَفَرَرْتُSo I fledمِنكُمْfrom youلَمَّاwhenخِفْتُكُمْI feared youفَوَهَبَBut grantedلِىto meرَبِّىmy Lordحُكْمًاjudgmentوَجَعَلَنِىand made meمِنَofٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers21
وَتِلْكَAnd thisنِعْمَةٌ(is the) favorتَمُنُّهَاwith which you reproachعَلَىَّ[on] meأَنْthatعَبَّدتَّyou have enslavedبَنِىٓ(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(the) Children of Israel22
قَالَHe saidرَبُّLordٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between themإِنifكُنتُمyou (should) beمُّوقِنِينَconvinced24
قَالَHe saidرَبُّكُمْYour Lordوَرَبُّand (the) Lordءَابَآئِكُمُ(of) your forefathersٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) your forefathers26
قَالَHe saidإِنَّIndeedرَسُولَكُمُyour Messengerٱلَّذِىٓwhoأُرْسِلَhas been sentإِلَيْكُمْto youلَمَجْنُونٌ(is) surely mad27
قَالَHe saidرَبُّLordٱلْمَشْرِقِ(of) the eastوَٱلْمَغْرِبِand the westوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between themإِنifكُنتُمْyou wereتَعْقِلُونَ(to) reason28
قَالَHe saidلَئِنِIfٱتَّخَذْتَyou takeإِلَٰهًاa godغَيْرِىother than meلَأَجْعَلَنَّكَI will surely make youمِنَamongٱلْمَسْجُونِينَthose imprisoned29
فَأَلْقَىٰSo he threwعَصَاهُhis staffفَإِذَاand beholdهِىَItثُعْبَانٌ(was) a serpentمُّبِينٌmanifest32
وَنَزَعَAnd he drew outيَدَهُۥhis handفَإِذَاand beholdهِىَItبَيْضَآءُ(was) whiteلِلنَّٰظِرِينَfor the observers33
قَالَHe saidلِلْمَلَإِto the chiefsحَوْلَهُۥٓaround himإِنَّIndeedهَٰذَاthisلَسَٰحِرٌ(is) surely a magicianعَلِيمٌlearned34
يُرِيدُHe wantsأَنtoيُخْرِجَكُمdrive you outمِّنْfromأَرْضِكُمyour landبِسِحْرِهِۦby his magicفَمَاذَاso whatتَأْمُرُونَ(do) you advise35
قَالُوٓا۟They saidأَرْجِهْPostpone himوَأَخَاهُand his brotherوَٱبْعَثْand sendفِىinٱلْمَدَآئِنِthe citiesحَٰشِرِينَgatherers 36
فَجُمِعَSo were assembledٱلسَّحَرَةُthe magiciansلِمِيقَٰتِfor (the) appointmentيَوْمٍ(on) a dayمَّعْلُومٍwell-known38
لَعَلَّنَاThat we mayنَتَّبِعُfollowٱلسَّحَرَةَthe magiciansإِنifكَانُوا۟they areهُمُthey areٱلْغَٰلِبِينَthe victorious40
فَلَمَّاSo whenجَآءَcameٱلسَّحَرَةُthe magiciansقَالُوا۟they saidلِفِرْعَوْنَto FiraunأَئِنَّIs thereلَنَاfor usلَأَجْرًاa rewardإِنifكُنَّاwe areنَحْنُwe areٱلْغَٰلِبِينَthe victorious41
قَالَHe saidنَعَمْYesوَإِنَّكُمْand indeed youإِذًاthenلَّمِنَsurely (will be) ofٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَthe ones who are brought near42
فَأَلْقَوْا۟So they threwحِبَالَهُمْtheir ropesوَعِصِيَّهُمْand their staffsوَقَالُوا۟and saidبِعِزَّةِBy the mightفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunإِنَّاindeed, weلَنَحْنُsurely, weٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ(are) the victorious44
فَأَلْقَىٰThen threwمُوسَىٰMusaعَصَاهُhis staffفَإِذَاand beholdهِىَItتَلْقَفُswallowedمَاwhatيَأْفِكُونَthey falsified45
قَالَHe saidءَامَنتُمْYou believedلَهُۥin himقَبْلَbeforeأَنْ[that]ءَاذَنَI gave permissionلَكُمْto youإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heلَكَبِيرُكُمُ(is) surely your chiefٱلَّذِىwhoعَلَّمَكُمُhas taught youٱلسِّحْرَthe magicفَلَسَوْفَso surely soonتَعْلَمُونَyou will knowلَأُقَطِّعَنَّI will surely cut offأَيْدِيَكُمْyour handsوَأَرْجُلَكُمand your feetمِّنْofخِلَٰفٍopposite sidesوَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْand I will surely crucify youأَجْمَعِينَall49
قَالُوا۟They saidلَاNoضَيْرَharmإِنَّآIndeed, weإِلَىٰtoرَبِّنَاour Lordمُنقَلِبُونَ(will) return50
إِنَّاIndeed, weنَطْمَعُhopeأَنthatيَغْفِرَwill forgiveلَنَاusرَبُّنَاour Lordخَطَٰيَٰنَآour sinsأَنbecauseكُنَّآwe areأَوَّلَ(the) firstٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believers51
وَأَوْحَيْنَآAnd We inspiredإِلَىٰtoمُوسَىٰٓMusaأَنْ[that]أَسْرِTravel by nightبِعِبَادِىٓwith My slavesإِنَّكُمindeed, youمُّتَّبَعُونَ(will be) followed52
كَذَٰلِكَThusوَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَاAnd We caused to inherit themبَنِىٓ(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(the) Children of Israel59
فَلَمَّاThen whenتَرَٰٓءَاsaw each otherٱلْجَمْعَانِthe two hostsقَالَsaidأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsمُوسَىٰٓ(of) MusaإِنَّاIndeed, weلَمُدْرَكُونَ(are) surely to be overtaken61
فَأَوْحَيْنَآThen We inspiredإِلَىٰtoمُوسَىٰٓMusaأَنِ[that]ٱضْرِبStrikeبِّعَصَاكَwith your staffٱلْبَحْرَthe seaفَٱنفَلَقَSo it partedفَكَانَand becameكُلُّeachفِرْقٍpartكَٱلطَّوْدِlike the mountainٱلْعَظِيمِ[the] great63
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely (is) a Signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers67
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful68
إِذْWhenقَالَhe saidلِأَبِيهِto his fatherوَقَوْمِهِۦand his peopleمَاWhatتَعْبُدُونَ(do) you worship70
قَالُوا۟They saidنَعْبُدُWe worshipأَصْنَامًاidolsفَنَظَلُّso we will remainلَهَاto themعَٰكِفِينَdevoted71
قَالُوا۟They saidبَلْNayوَجَدْنَآbut we foundءَابَآءَنَاour forefathersكَذَٰلِكَlike that يَفْعَلُونَdoing74
فَإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyعَدُوٌّ(are) enemiesلِّىٓto meإِلَّاexceptرَبَّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds77
وَٱلَّذِىٓAnd the One Who أَطْمَعُI hopeأَنthatيَغْفِرَHe will forgiveلِىfor meخَطِيٓـَٔتِىmy faultsيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment82
رَبِّMy LordهَبْGrantلِى[for] meحُكْمًاwisdomوَأَلْحِقْنِىand join meبِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَwith the righteous83
وَٱجْعَلAnd grantلِّى[for] meلِسَانَa mentionصِدْقٍ(of) honorفِىamongٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later (generations)84
وَقِيلَAnd it will be saidلَهُمْto themأَيْنَWhereمَا(is) thatكُنتُمْyou usedتَعْبُدُونَ(to) worship92
مِنBesides AllahدُونِBesides AllahٱللَّهِBesides AllahهَلْCanيَنصُرُونَكُمْthey help youأَوْorيَنتَصِرُونَhelp themselves93
فَلَوْThen ifأَنَّthatلَنَاwe hadكَرَّةًa returnفَنَكُونَthen we could beمِنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers102
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely is a Signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers103
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful104
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidلَهُمْto themأَخُوهُمْtheir brotherنُوحٌNuhأَلَاWill notتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)106
وَمَآAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاbutعَلَىٰfromرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds109
قَالُوٓا۟They saidأَنُؤْمِنُShould we believeلَكَin youوَٱتَّبَعَكَwhile followed youٱلْأَرْذَلُونَthe lowest111
إِنْVerilyحِسَابُهُمْtheir accountإِلَّا(is) butعَلَىٰuponرَبِّىmy Lordلَوْifتَشْعُرُونَyou perceive113
قَالُوا۟They saidلَئِنIfلَّمْnotتَنتَهِyou desistيَٰنُوحُO NuhلَتَكُونَنَّSurely you will beمِنَofٱلْمَرْجُومِينَthose who are stoned116
فَٱفْتَحْSo judgeبَيْنِىbetween meوَبَيْنَهُمْand between themفَتْحًا(with decisive) judgmentوَنَجِّنِىand save meوَمَنand whoمَّعِىَ(are) with meمِنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers118
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُSo We saved himوَمَنand whoمَّعَهُۥ(were) with himفِىinٱلْفُلْكِthe shipٱلْمَشْحُونِladen119
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely, (is) a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers121
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful122
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidلَهُمْto themأَخُوهُمْtheir brotherهُودٌHudأَلَاWill notتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)124
وَمَآAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاexceptعَلَىٰfromرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds127
أَتَبْنُونَDo you constructبِكُلِّon everyرِيعٍelevationءَايَةًa signتَعْبَثُونَamusing yourselves128
وَتَتَّخِذُونَAnd take for yourselvesمَصَانِعَstrongholdsلَعَلَّكُمْthat you mayتَخْلُدُونَlive forever129
إِنِّىٓIndeed, Iأَخَافُ[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْfor youعَذَابَ(the) punishmentيَوْمٍ(of) a DayعَظِيمٍGreat135
قَالُوا۟They saidسَوَآءٌ(It is) sameعَلَيْنَآto usأَوَعَظْتَwhether you adviseأَمْorلَمْnotتَكُنyou areمِّنَofٱلْوَٰعِظِينَthe advisors136
فَكَذَّبُوهُSo they denied himفَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْthen We destroyed themإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely, is a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers139
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful140
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidلَهُمْto themأَخُوهُمْtheir brotherصَٰلِحٌSalihأَلَاWill notتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)142
وَمَآAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاexceptعَلَىٰfromرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds145
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُفْسِدُونَspread corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَاand (do) notيُصْلِحُونَreform152
مَآNotأَنتَyouإِلَّا(are) exceptبَشَرٌa manمِّثْلُنَاlike usفَأْتِso bringبِـَٔايَةٍa signإِنifكُنتَyouمِنَ(are) ofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful154
قَالَHe saidهَٰذِهِۦThisنَاقَةٌ(is) a she-camelلَّهَاFor herشِرْبٌ(is a share of) drinkوَلَكُمْand for youشِرْبُ(is a share of) drinkيَوْمٍ(on) a dayمَّعْلُومٍknown155
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَمَسُّوهَاtouch herبِسُوٓءٍwith harmفَيَأْخُذَكُمْlest seize youعَذَابُ(the) punishmentيَوْمٍ(of) a DayعَظِيمٍGreat156
فَأَخَذَهُمُSo seized themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely is a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers158
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful159
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidلَهُمْto themأَخُوهُمْtheir brotherلُوطٌLutأَلَاWill notتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)161
وَمَآAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاexceptعَلَىٰfromرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds164
وَتَذَرُونَAnd you leaveمَاwhatخَلَقَcreatedلَكُمْfor youرَبُّكُمyour Lordمِّنْofأَزْوَٰجِكُمyour matesبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleعَادُونَtransgressing166
قَالُوا۟They saidلَئِنIfلَّمْnotتَنتَهِyou desistيَٰلُوطُO LutلَتَكُونَنَّSurely, you will beمِنَofٱلْمُخْرَجِينَthe ones driven out167
وَأَمْطَرْنَاAnd We rainedعَلَيْهِمupon themمَّطَرًاa rainفَسَآءَand evil wasمَطَرُ(was) the rainٱلْمُنذَرِينَ(on) those who were warned173
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely is a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers174
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful175
وَمَآAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِنْNotأَجْرِىَ(is) my paymentإِلَّاexceptعَلَىٰfromرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds180
أَوْفُوا۟Give fullٱلْكَيْلَmeasureوَلَاand (do) notتَكُونُوا۟beمِنَofٱلْمُخْسِرِينَthose who cause loss181
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَبْخَسُوا۟depriveٱلنَّاسَpeopleأَشْيَآءَهُمْ(of) their thingsوَلَاand (do) notتَعْثَوْا۟commit evilفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمُفْسِدِينَspreading corruption183
وَٱتَّقُوا۟And fearٱلَّذِىthe One Whoخَلَقَكُمْcreated youوَٱلْجِبِلَّةَand the generationsٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe former184
وَمَآAnd notأَنتَyouإِلَّا(are) exceptبَشَرٌa manمِّثْلُنَاlike usوَإِنand indeedنَّظُنُّكَwe think youلَمِنَsurely (are) ofٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars186
فَأَسْقِطْThen cause to fallعَلَيْنَاupon usكِسَفًاfragmentsمِّنَofٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyإِنifكُنتَyou areمِنَofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful187
فَكَذَّبُوهُBut they denied himفَأَخَذَهُمْso seized themعَذَابُ(the) punishmentيَوْمِ(of the) dayٱلظُّلَّةِ(of) the shadowإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itكَانَwasعَذَابَ(the) punishmentيَوْمٍ(of) a DayعَظِيمٍGreat189
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely, is a signوَمَاbut notكَانَareأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers190
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَهُوَsurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful191
وَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itلَتَنزِيلُsurely, is a Revelationرَبِّ(of the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds192
وَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itلَفِىsurely, (is) inزُبُرِ(the) Scripturesٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)196
أَوَلَمْIs it notيَكُنIs it notلَّهُمْto themءَايَةًa signأَنthatيَعْلَمَهُۥknow itعُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟(the) scholarsبَنِىٓ(of the) Childrenإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israel197
فَقَرَأَهُۥAnd he (had) recited itعَلَيْهِمto themمَّاnotكَانُوا۟they wouldبِهِۦin itمُؤْمِنِينَ(be) believers199
كَذَٰلِكَThusسَلَكْنَٰهُWe have inserted itفِىintoقُلُوبِ(the) heartsٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals200
لَاNotيُؤْمِنُونَthey will believeبِهِۦin itحَتَّىٰuntilيَرَوُا۟they seeٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentٱلْأَلِيمَ[the] painful201
فَيَأْتِيَهُمAnd it will come to themبَغْتَةًsuddenlyوَهُمْwhile theyلَا(do) notيَشْعُرُونَperceive202
مَآNotأَغْنَىٰ(will) availعَنْهُمthemمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟enjoyment they were givenيُمَتَّعُونَenjoyment they were given207
فَلَاSo (do) notتَدْعُinvokeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodءَاخَرَanotherفَتَكُونَlest you beمِنَofٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَthose punished213
وَٱخْفِضْAnd lowerجَنَاحَكَyour wingلِمَنِto (those) whoٱتَّبَعَكَfollow youمِنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers215
فَإِنْThen ifعَصَوْكَthey disobey youفَقُلْthen sayإِنِّىIndeed, I amبَرِىٓءٌinnocentمِّمَّاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou do216
إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsوَذَكَرُوا۟and rememberٱللَّهَAllahكَثِيرًاmuchوَٱنتَصَرُوا۟and defend themselvesمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterمَاafterظُلِمُوا۟they were wrongedوَسَيَعْلَمُAnd will come to knowٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوٓا۟have wrongedأَىَّ(to) whatمُنقَلَبٍreturnيَنقَلِبُونَthey will return227

طسٓTa SeenتِلْكَTheseءَايَٰتُ(are the) Versesٱلْقُرْءَانِ(of) the Quranوَكِتَابٍand a Bookمُّبِينٍclear1
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُقِيمُونَestablishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَيُؤْتُونَand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahوَهُمand theyبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterهُمْ[they]يُوقِنُونَbelieve with certainty3
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the HereafterزَيَّنَّاWe have made fair-seemingلَهُمْto themأَعْمَٰلَهُمْtheir deedsفَهُمْso theyيَعْمَهُونَwander blindly4
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the onesلَهُمْfor themسُوٓءُ(is) an evilٱلْعَذَابِ[the] punishmentوَهُمْand theyفِىinٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterهُمُ[they]ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ(will be) the greatest losers5
وَإِنَّكَAnd indeed, youلَتُلَقَّىsurely, receiveٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranمِنfrom [near]لَّدُنْfrom [near]حَكِيمٍthe All-Wiseعَلِيمٍthe All-Knower6
إِذْWhenقَالَsaidمُوسَىٰMusaلِأَهْلِهِۦٓto his familyإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iءَانَسْتُperceiveنَارًاa fireسَـَٔاتِيكُمI will bring youمِّنْهَاfrom itبِخَبَرٍsome informationأَوْorءَاتِيكُمI will bring youبِشِهَابٍa torchقَبَسٍburningلَّعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَصْطَلُونَwarm yourselves7
فَلَمَّاBut whenجَآءَهَاhe came to itنُودِىَhe was calledأَنۢ[that]بُورِكَBlessed isمَنwhoفِى(is) atٱلنَّارِthe fireوَمَنْand whoeverحَوْلَهَا(is) around itوَسُبْحَٰنَAnd glory beٱللَّهِ(to) Allahرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds8
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓO MusaإِنَّهُۥٓIndeedأَنَاI AmٱللَّهُAllahٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise9
وَأَلْقِAnd, "Throwعَصَاكَyour staffفَلَمَّاBut whenرَءَاهَاhe saw itتَهْتَزُّmovingكَأَنَّهَاas if itجَآنٌّ(were) a snakeوَلَّىٰhe turned backمُدْبِرًا(in) flightوَلَمْand (did) notيُعَقِّبْlook backيَٰمُوسَىٰO Musaلَا(Do) notتَخَفْfearإِنِّىIndeed, [I]لَا(do) notيَخَافُfearلَدَىَّ(in) My presenceٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengers10
إِلَّاExceptمَنwhoظَلَمَwrongsثُمَّthenبَدَّلَsubstitutesحُسْنًۢاgoodبَعْدَafterسُوٓءٍevilفَإِنِّىthen indeed, I AmغَفُورٌOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful11
وَأَدْخِلْAnd enterيَدَكَyour handفِىintoجَيْبِكَyour bosomتَخْرُجْit will come forthبَيْضَآءَwhiteمِنْwithoutغَيْرِwithoutسُوٓءٍharmفِى(These are) amongتِسْعِnineءَايَٰتٍsignsإِلَىٰtoفِرْعَوْنَFiraunوَقَوْمِهِۦٓand his peopleإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyكَانُوا۟areقَوْمًاa peopleفَٰسِقِينَdefiantly disobedient12
فَلَمَّاBut whenجَآءَتْهُمْcame to themءَايَٰتُنَاOur Signsمُبْصِرَةًvisibleقَالُوا۟they saidهَٰذَاThisسِحْرٌ(is) a magicمُّبِينٌmanifest13
وَجَحَدُوا۟And they rejectedبِهَاthemوَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآthough were convinced with them (signs)أَنفُسُهُمْthemselvesظُلْمًا(out of) injusticeوَعُلُوًّاand haughtinessفَٱنظُرْSo seeكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ(of) the corrupters14
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveدَاوُۥدَDawoodوَسُلَيْمَٰنَand Sulaimanعِلْمًاknowledgeوَقَالَاand they saidٱلْحَمْدُPraise beلِلَّهِto Allahٱلَّذِىthe One Whoفَضَّلَنَاhas favored usعَلَىٰoverكَثِيرٍmanyمِّنْofعِبَادِهِHis servantsٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers15
وَوَرِثَAnd inheritedسُلَيْمَٰنُSulaimanدَاوُۥدَDawoodوَقَالَAnd he saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُpeopleعُلِّمْنَاWe have been taughtمَنطِقَ(the) languageٱلطَّيْرِ(of) the birdsوَأُوتِينَاand we have been givenمِنfromكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingإِنَّIndeedهَٰذَاthisلَهُوَsurely, itٱلْفَضْلُ(is) the favorٱلْمُبِينُevident16
وَحُشِرَAnd were gatheredلِسُلَيْمَٰنَfor Sulaimanجُنُودُهُۥhis hostsمِنَofٱلْجِنِّjinnوَٱلْإِنسِand the menوَٱلطَّيْرِand the birdsفَهُمْand theyيُوزَعُونَ(were) set in rows17
حَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَآwhenأَتَوْا۟they cameعَلَىٰtoوَادِ(the) valleyٱلنَّمْلِ(of) the antsقَالَتْsaidنَمْلَةٌan antيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّمْلُantsٱدْخُلُوا۟Enterمَسَٰكِنَكُمْyour dwellingsلَاlest not crush youيَحْطِمَنَّكُمْlest not crush youسُلَيْمَٰنُSulaimanوَجُنُودُهُۥand his hostsوَهُمْwhile theyلَا(do) not perceiveيَشْعُرُونَ(do) not perceive18
فَتَبَسَّمَSo he smiled ضَاحِكًاlaughingمِّنatقَوْلِهَاher speechوَقَالَand saidرَبِّMy LordأَوْزِعْنِىٓGrant me (the) powerأَنْthatأَشْكُرَI may thank Youنِعْمَتَكَ(for) Your FavorٱلَّتِىٓwhichأَنْعَمْتَYou have bestowedعَلَىَّon meوَعَلَىٰand onوَٰلِدَىَّmy parentsوَأَنْand thatأَعْمَلَI may doصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)تَرْضَىٰهُthat will please YouوَأَدْخِلْنِىAnd admit meبِرَحْمَتِكَby Your MercyفِىamongعِبَادِكَYour slavesٱلصَّٰلِحِينَrighteous19
وَتَفَقَّدَAnd he inspectedٱلطَّيْرَthe birdsفَقَالَand saidمَاWhyلِىَWhyلَآnotأَرَىI seeٱلْهُدْهُدَthe hoopoeأَمْorكَانَis heمِنَfromٱلْغَآئِبِينَthe absent20
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥI will surely punish himعَذَابًا(with) a punishmentشَدِيدًاsevereأَوْorلَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓI will surely slaughter himأَوْunlessلَيَأْتِيَنِّىhe brings meبِسُلْطَٰنٍa reasonمُّبِينٍclear21
فَمَكَثَSo he stayedغَيْرَnotبَعِيدٍlongفَقَالَand he saidأَحَطتُI have encompassedبِمَاthat whichلَمْnotتُحِطْyou have encompassedبِهِۦitوَجِئْتُكَand I have come to youمِنfromسَبَإٍۢSabaبِنَبَإٍwith newsيَقِينٍcertain22
إِنِّىIndeed, Iوَجَدتُّfoundٱمْرَأَةًa womanتَمْلِكُهُمْruling themوَأُوتِيَتْand she has been givenمِنofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingوَلَهَاand for herعَرْشٌ(is) a throneعَظِيمٌgreat23
وَجَدتُّهَاAnd I found herوَقَوْمَهَاand her peopleيَسْجُدُونَprostratingلِلشَّمْسِto the sunمِنinstead of Allahدُونِinstead of Allahٱللَّهِinstead of Allahوَزَيَّنَand has made fair-seemingلَهُمُto themٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanأَعْمَٰلَهُمْtheir deedsفَصَدَّهُمْand averted themعَنِfromٱلسَّبِيلِthe Wayفَهُمْso theyلَا(are) notيَهْتَدُونَguided24
أَلَّاThat notيَسْجُدُوا۟they prostrateلِلَّهِto Allahٱلَّذِىthe One Whoيُخْرِجُbrings forthٱلْخَبْءَthe hiddenفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَيَعْلَمُand knowsمَاwhatتُخْفُونَyou concealوَمَاand whatتُعْلِنُونَyou declare25
ٱللَّهُAllahلَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاbutهُوَHeرَبُّ(the) Lordٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the Throneٱلْعَظِيمِthe Great26
قَالَHe saidسَنَنظُرُWe will seeأَصَدَقْتَwhether you speak (the) truthأَمْorكُنتَyou areمِنَofٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars27
ٱذْهَبGoبِّكِتَٰبِىwith my letterهَٰذَاthisفَأَلْقِهْand deliver itإِلَيْهِمْto themثُمَّThenتَوَلَّturn awayعَنْهُمْfrom themفَٱنظُرْand seeمَاذَاwhatيَرْجِعُونَthey return28
قَالَتْShe saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefsإِنِّىٓIndeed [I]أُلْقِىَis deliveredإِلَىَّto meكِتَٰبٌa letterكَرِيمٌnoble29
إِنَّهُۥIndeed, itمِن(is) fromسُلَيْمَٰنَSulaimanوَإِنَّهُۥand indeed it (is)بِسْمِIn the nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful30
أَلَّاThat notتَعْلُوا۟exalt yourselvesعَلَىَّagainst meوَأْتُونِىbut come to meمُسْلِمِينَ(in) submission31
قَالَتْShe saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefsأَفْتُونِىAdvise meفِىٓinأَمْرِىmy affairمَاNotكُنتُI would beقَاطِعَةًthe one to decideأَمْرًاany matterحَتَّىٰuntilتَشْهَدُونِyou are present with me32
قَالُوا۟They saidنَحْنُWeأُو۟لُوا۟(are) possessorsقُوَّةٍ(of) strengthوَأُو۟لُوا۟and possessorsبَأْسٍ(of) mightشَدِيدٍgreatوَٱلْأَمْرُand the commandإِلَيْكِ(is) up to youفَٱنظُرِىso lookمَاذَاwhatتَأْمُرِينَyou will command33
قَالَتْShe saidإِنَّIndeedٱلْمُلُوكَthe kingsإِذَاwhenدَخَلُوا۟they enterقَرْيَةًa townأَفْسَدُوهَاthey ruin itوَجَعَلُوٓا۟and makeأَعِزَّةَ(the) most honorableأَهْلِهَآ(of) its peopleأَذِلَّةً(the) lowestوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusيَفْعَلُونَthey do34
وَإِنِّىBut indeed, I amمُرْسِلَةٌgoing to sendإِلَيْهِمto themبِهَدِيَّةٍa giftفَنَاظِرَةٌۢand seeبِمَwith whatيَرْجِعُreturnٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers35
فَلَمَّاSo whenجَآءَcameسُلَيْمَٰنَ(to) Sulaimanقَالَhe saidأَتُمِدُّونَنِWill you provide meبِمَالٍwith wealthفَمَآBut whatءَاتَىٰنِۦَAllah has given meٱللَّهُAllah has given meخَيْرٌ(is) betterمِّمَّآthan whatءَاتَىٰكُمHe has given youبَلْNayأَنتُمyouبِهَدِيَّتِكُمْin your giftتَفْرَحُونَrejoice36
ٱرْجِعْReturnإِلَيْهِمْto themفَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُمsurely, we will come to themبِجُنُودٍwith hostsلَّاnotقِبَلَ(is) resistanceلَهُمfor themبِهَاof itوَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُمand surely, we will drive them outمِّنْهَآfrom thereأَذِلَّةً(in) humiliationوَهُمْand theyصَٰغِرُونَ(will be) abased37
قَالَHe saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefsأَيُّكُمْWhich of youيَأْتِينِىwill bring meبِعَرْشِهَاher throneقَبْلَbeforeأَنthatيَأْتُونِىthey come to meمُسْلِمِينَ(in) submission38
قَالَSaidعِفْرِيتٌa strong oneمِّنَofٱلْجِنِّthe jinnأَنَاIءَاتِيكَwill bring it to youبِهِۦwill bring it to youقَبْلَbeforeأَن[that]تَقُومَyou riseمِنfromمَّقَامِكَyour placeوَإِنِّىAnd indeed, I amعَلَيْهِfor itلَقَوِىٌّsurely, strongأَمِينٌtrustworthy39
قَالَSaidٱلَّذِىone whoعِندَهُۥwith himعِلْمٌ(was) knowledgeمِّنَofٱلْكِتَٰبِthe ScriptureأَنَاIءَاتِيكَwill bring it to youبِهِۦwill bring it to youقَبْلَbeforeأَن[that]يَرْتَدَّreturnsإِلَيْكَto youطَرْفُكَyour glanceفَلَمَّاThen whenرَءَاهُhe saw itمُسْتَقِرًّاplacedعِندَهُۥbefore himقَالَhe saidهَٰذَاThisمِن(is) fromفَضْلِ(the) Favorرَبِّى(of) my Lordلِيَبْلُوَنِىٓto test meءَأَشْكُرُwhether I am gratefulأَمْorأَكْفُرُI am ungratefulوَمَنAnd whoeverشَكَرَ(is) gratefulفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyيَشْكُرُhe is gratefulلِنَفْسِهِۦfor his own soulوَمَنAnd whoeverكَفَرَ(is) ungratefulفَإِنَّthen indeedرَبِّىmy Lordغَنِىٌّ(is) Self-sufficientكَرِيمٌNoble40
قَالَHe saidنَكِّرُوا۟Disguiseلَهَاfor herعَرْشَهَاher throneنَنظُرْwe will seeأَتَهْتَدِىٓwhether she will be guidedأَمْorتَكُونُwill beمِنَofٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَاare not guidedيَهْتَدُونَare not guided41
فَلَمَّاSo whenجَآءَتْshe cameقِيلَit was saidأَهَٰكَذَاIs like thisعَرْشُكِyour throneقَالَتْShe saidكَأَنَّهُۥIt is likeهُوَitوَأُوتِينَاAnd we were givenٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledgeمِنbefore herقَبْلِهَاbefore herوَكُنَّاand we have beenمُسْلِمِينَMuslims42
وَصَدَّهَاAnd has averted herمَاwhatكَانَتshe used (to)تَّعْبُدُworshipمِنbesidesدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahإِنَّهَاIndeed, sheكَانَتْwasمِنfromقَوْمٍa peopleكَٰفِرِينَwho disbelieve43
قِيلَIt was saidلَهَاto herٱدْخُلِىEnterٱلصَّرْحَthe palaceفَلَمَّاThen whenرَأَتْهُshe saw itحَسِبَتْهُshe thought itلُجَّةً(was) a poolوَكَشَفَتْand she uncoveredعَن[on]سَاقَيْهَاher shinsقَالَHe saidإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itصَرْحٌ(is) a palaceمُّمَرَّدٌmade smoothمِّنofقَوَارِيرَglassقَالَتْShe saidرَبِّMy Lordإِنِّىindeed, Iظَلَمْتُ[I] have wrongedنَفْسِىmyselfوَأَسْلَمْتُand I submitمَعَwithسُلَيْمَٰنَSulaimanلِلَّهِto Allahرَبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds44
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentإِلَىٰtoثَمُودَThamudأَخَاهُمْtheir brotherصَٰلِحًاSalihأَنِthatٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahفَإِذَاThen beholdهُمْTheyفَرِيقَانِ(became) two partiesيَخْتَصِمُونَquarreling45
قَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleلِمَWhyتَسْتَعْجِلُونَ(do) you seek to hastenبِٱلسَّيِّئَةِthe evilقَبْلَbeforeٱلْحَسَنَةِthe goodلَوْلَاWhy notتَسْتَغْفِرُونَyou ask forgivenessٱللَّهَ(of) Allahلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy46
قَالُوا۟They saidٱطَّيَّرْنَاWe consider you a bad omenبِكَWe consider you a bad omenوَبِمَنand thoseمَّعَكَwith youقَالَHe saidطَٰٓئِرُكُمْYour bad omenعِندَ(is) withٱللَّهِAllahبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleتُفْتَنُونَbeing tested47
وَكَانَAnd wereفِىinٱلْمَدِينَةِthe cityتِسْعَةُnineرَهْطٍfamily headsيُفْسِدُونَthey were spreading corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe landوَلَاand notيُصْلِحُونَreforming48
قَالُوا۟They saidتَقَاسَمُوا۟Swear to each otherبِٱللَّهِby Allahلَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥsurely, we will attack him by nightوَأَهْلَهُۥand his familyثُمَّThenلَنَقُولَنَّwe will surely sayلِوَلِيِّهِۦto his heirمَاNotشَهِدْنَاwe witnessedمَهْلِكَ(the) destructionأَهْلِهِۦ(of) his familyوَإِنَّاand indeed, weلَصَٰدِقُونَ(are) surely truthful49
وَمَكَرُوا۟So they plottedمَكْرًاa plotوَمَكَرْنَاand We plannedمَكْرًاa planوَهُمْwhile theyلَا(did) notيَشْعُرُونَperceive50
فَٱنظُرْThen seeكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endمَكْرِهِمْ(of) their plotأَنَّاthat Weدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْdestroyed themوَقَوْمَهُمْand their peopleأَجْمَعِينَall51
فَتِلْكَSo, theseبُيُوتُهُمْ(are) their housesخَاوِيَةًۢruinedبِمَاbecauseظَلَمُوٓا۟they wrongedإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَةًsurely, is a signلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَعْلَمُونَwho know52
وَأَنجَيْنَاAnd We savedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedوَكَانُوا۟and used (to)يَتَّقُونَfear (Allah)53
وَلُوطًاAnd Lutإِذْwhenقَالَhe saidلِقَوْمِهِۦٓto his peopleأَتَأْتُونَDo you commitٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ[the] immoralityوَأَنتُمْwhile youتُبْصِرُونَsee54
أَئِنَّكُمْWhy do youلَتَأْتُونَapproachٱلرِّجَالَthe menشَهْوَةً(with) lustمِّنinstead ofدُونِinstead ofٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleتَجْهَلُونَignorant55
