إِلَّاExceptعَلَىٰٓfromأَزْوَٰجِهِمْtheir spousesأَوْorمَاwhatمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُهُمْtheir right handsفَإِنَّهُمْthen indeed, theyغَيْرُ(are) notمَلُومِينَblameworthy6
فَمَنِThen whoeverٱبْتَغَىٰseeksوَرَآءَbeyondذَٰلِكَthatفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْعَادُونَ(are) the transgressors7
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْof their trustsوَعَهْدِهِمْand their promise(s)رَٰعُونَ(are) observers8
ٱلَّذِينَWhoيَرِثُونَwill inheritٱلْفِرْدَوْسَthe ParadiseهُمْTheyفِيهَاthereinخَٰلِدُونَ(will) abide forever11
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاWe createdٱلْإِنسَٰنَthe humankindمِنfromسُلَٰلَةٍan essenceمِّنofطِينٍclay12
ثُمَّThenخَلَقْنَاWe createdٱلنُّطْفَةَthe semen-dropعَلَقَةً(into) a clinging substanceفَخَلَقْنَاthen We createdٱلْعَلَقَةَthe clinging substanceمُضْغَةً(into) an embryonic lumpفَخَلَقْنَاthen We createdٱلْمُضْغَةَthe embryonic lumpعِظَٰمًا(into) bonesفَكَسَوْنَاthen We clothedٱلْعِظَٰمَthe bonesلَحْمًا(with) fleshثُمَّthenأَنشَأْنَٰهُWe produce itخَلْقًا(as) a creationءَاخَرَanotherفَتَبَارَكَSo blessed isٱللَّهُAllahأَحْسَنُ(the) Bestٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ(of) the Creators14
ثُمَّThenإِنَّكُمْindeed, youيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionتُبْعَثُونَwill be resurrected16
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاWe (have) createdفَوْقَكُمْabove youسَبْعَsevenطَرَآئِقَpathsوَمَاand notكُنَّاWe areعَنِofٱلْخَلْقِthe creationغَٰفِلِينَunaware17
وَأَنزَلْنَاAnd We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًۢwaterبِقَدَرٍin (due) measureفَأَسْكَنَّٰهُthen We cause it to settleفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Weعَلَىٰonذَهَابٍۢtaking it awayبِهِۦtaking it awayلَقَٰدِرُونَsurely (are) Able18
فَأَنشَأْنَاThen We producedلَكُمfor youبِهِۦby itجَنَّٰتٍgardensمِّنof date-palmsنَّخِيلٍof date-palmsوَأَعْنَٰبٍand grapevinesلَّكُمْfor youفِيهَاin itفَوَٰكِهُ(are) fruitsكَثِيرَةٌabundantوَمِنْهَاand from themتَأْكُلُونَyou eat19
وَشَجَرَةًAnd a treeتَخْرُجُ(that) springs forthمِنfromطُورِMount SinaiسَيْنَآءَMount Sinaiتَنۢبُتُ(which) producesبِٱلدُّهْنِoilوَصِبْغٍand a relishلِّلْءَاكِلِينَfor those who eat20
وَإِنَّAnd indeedلَكُمْfor youفِىinٱلْأَنْعَٰمِthe cattleلَعِبْرَةًsurely, (is) a lessonنُّسْقِيكُمWe give you drinkمِّمَّاfrom whatفِى(is) inبُطُونِهَاtheir belliesوَلَكُمْand for youفِيهَاin themمَنَٰفِعُ(are) benefitsكَثِيرَةٌmanyوَمِنْهَاand of themتَأْكُلُونَyou eat21
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentنُوحًاNuhإِلَىٰtoقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleفَقَالَand he saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْ(is) anyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥٓother than HimأَفَلَاThen will notتَتَّقُونَyou fear23
فَقَالَBut saidٱلْمَلَؤُا۟the chiefsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedمِنamongقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleمَاThis is notهَٰذَآThis is notإِلَّاbutبَشَرٌa manمِّثْلُكُمْlike youيُرِيدُhe wishesأَنtoيَتَفَضَّلَassert (his) superiorityعَلَيْكُمْover youوَلَوْand ifشَآءَAllah had willedٱللَّهُAllah had willedلَأَنزَلَsurely He (would have) sent downمَلَٰٓئِكَةًAngelsمَّاNotسَمِعْنَاwe heardبِهَٰذَاof thisفِىٓfromءَابَآئِنَاour forefathersٱلْأَوَّلِينَour forefathers24
إِنْNotهُوَheإِلَّا(is) butرَجُلٌۢa manبِهِۦin himجِنَّةٌ(is) madnessفَتَرَبَّصُوا۟so waitبِهِۦconcerning himحَتَّىٰuntilحِينٍa time25
فَأَوْحَيْنَآSo We inspiredإِلَيْهِto himأَنِThatٱصْنَعِconstructٱلْفُلْكَthe shipبِأَعْيُنِنَاunder Our eyesوَوَحْيِنَاand Our inspirationفَإِذَاthen whenجَآءَcomesأَمْرُنَاOur Commandوَفَارَand gushes forthٱلتَّنُّورُthe ovenفَٱسْلُكْthen putفِيهَاinto itمِنofكُلٍّevery (kind)زَوْجَيْنِ(of) matesٱثْنَيْنِtwoوَأَهْلَكَand your familyإِلَّاexceptمَنthoseسَبَقَ(has) precededعَلَيْهِagainst whomٱلْقَوْلُthe WordمِنْهُمْthereofوَلَاAnd (do) notتُخَٰطِبْنِىaddress Meفِىconcerningٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوٓا۟wrongedإِنَّهُمindeed, theyمُّغْرَقُونَ(are) the ones to be drowned27
فَإِذَاAnd whenٱسْتَوَيْتَyou (have) boardedأَنتَyouوَمَنand whoeverمَّعَكَ(is) with youعَلَى[on]ٱلْفُلْكِthe shipفَقُلِthen sayٱلْحَمْدُPraiseلِلَّهِ(be) to AllahٱلَّذِىWhoنَجَّىٰنَا(has) saved usمِنَfromٱلْقَوْمِthe people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers28
وَقُلAnd sayرَّبِّMy Lordأَنزِلْنِىcause me to landمُنزَلًا(at) a landing placeمُّبَارَكًاblessedوَأَنتَand Youخَيْرُ(are) the Bestٱلْمُنزِلِينَ(of) those who cause to land.'29
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsوَإِنand indeedكُنَّاWe areلَمُبْتَلِينَsurely testing30
ثُمَّThenأَنشَأْنَاWe producedمِنۢafter themبَعْدِهِمْafter themقَرْنًاa generationءَاخَرِينَanother31
فَأَرْسَلْنَاAnd We sentفِيهِمْamong themرَسُولًاa Messengerمِّنْهُمْfrom themselvesأَنِ[that]ٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْ(is) anyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥٓother than HimأَفَلَاThen will notتَتَّقُونَyou fear32
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsمِنofقَوْمِهِhis peopleٱلَّذِينَwhoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedوَكَذَّبُوا۟and deniedبِلِقَآءِ(the) meetingٱلْءَاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterوَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْwhile We had given them luxuryفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldمَاNotهَٰذَآ(is) thisإِلَّاbutبَشَرٌa manمِّثْلُكُمْlike youيَأْكُلُHe eatsمِمَّاof whatتَأْكُلُونَyou eatمِنْهُ[from it]وَيَشْرَبُand he drinksمِمَّاof whatتَشْرَبُونَyou drink33
وَلَئِنْAnd surely ifأَطَعْتُمyou obeyبَشَرًاa manمِّثْلَكُمْlike youإِنَّكُمْindeed, youإِذًاthenلَّخَٰسِرُونَsurely (will be) losers34
أَيَعِدُكُمْDoes he promise you أَنَّكُمْthat youإِذَاwhenمِتُّمْyou are deadوَكُنتُمْand you becomeتُرَابًاdustوَعِظَٰمًاand bonesأَنَّكُمthat youمُّخْرَجُونَ(will be) brought forth35
إِنْNotهِىَitإِلَّا(is) butحَيَاتُنَاour lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldنَمُوتُwe dieوَنَحْيَاand we liveوَمَاand notنَحْنُweبِمَبْعُوثِينَ(will be) resurrected37
إِنْNotهُوَ(is) heإِلَّاbutرَجُلٌa manٱفْتَرَىٰwho (has) inventedعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieوَمَاand notنَحْنُweلَهُۥ(in) himبِمُؤْمِنِينَ(are) believers38
قَالَHe saidعَمَّاAfter a little whileقَلِيلٍAfter a little whileلَّيُصْبِحُنَّsurely they will becomeنَٰدِمِينَregretful40
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo seized themٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful cryبِٱلْحَقِّin truthفَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْand We made themغُثَآءً(as) rubbish of dead leavesفَبُعْدًاSo awayلِّلْقَوْمِwith the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers41
ثُمَّThenأَنشَأْنَاWe producedمِنۢafter themبَعْدِهِمْafter themقُرُونًاa generationءَاخَرِينَanother42
مَاNotتَسْبِقُcan precedeمِنْanyأُمَّةٍnationأَجَلَهَاits termوَمَاand notيَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَthey (can) delay (it)43
ثُمَّThenأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentرُسُلَنَاOur Messengersتَتْرَا(in) successionكُلَّEvery timeمَاEvery timeجَآءَcameأُمَّةً(to) a nationرَّسُولُهَاits Messengerكَذَّبُوهُthey denied himفَأَتْبَعْنَاso We made (them) follow بَعْضَهُمsome of themبَعْضًاothersوَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْand We made themأَحَادِيثَnarrationsفَبُعْدًاSo awayلِّقَوْمٍwith a people لَّاnotيُؤْمِنُونَthey believe44
ثُمَّThenأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمُوسَىٰMusaوَأَخَاهُand his brotherهَٰرُونَHarunبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاwith Our Signsوَسُلْطَٰنٍand an authorityمُّبِينٍclear45
إِلَىٰToفِرْعَوْنَFiraunوَمَلَإِي۟هِۦand his chiefsفَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟but they behaved arrogantlyوَكَانُوا۟and they wereقَوْمًاa peopleعَالِينَhaughty46
فَقَالُوٓا۟Then they saidأَنُؤْمِنُShall we believeلِبَشَرَيْنِ(in) two menمِثْلِنَاlike ourselvesوَقَوْمُهُمَاwhile their peopleلَنَاfor usعَٰبِدُونَ(are) slaves47
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاSo they denied themفَكَانُوا۟and they becameمِنَofٱلْمُهْلَكِينَthose who were destroyed48
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Scriptureلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَهْتَدُونَbe guided49
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeٱبْنَ(the) sonمَرْيَمَ(of) Maryamوَأُمَّهُۥٓand his motherءَايَةًa Signوَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآand We sheltered themإِلَىٰtoرَبْوَةٍa high groundذَاتِof tranquilityقَرَارٍof tranquilityوَمَعِينٍand water springs50
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO MessengersٱلرُّسُلُO Messengersكُلُوا۟Eatمِنَofٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِthe good thingsوَٱعْمَلُوا۟and doصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)إِنِّىIndeed, I Amبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doعَلِيمٌAll-Knower51
وَإِنَّAnd indeedهَٰذِهِۦٓthisأُمَّتُكُمْyour religionأُمَّةً(is) religionوَٰحِدَةًoneوَأَنَاAnd I Amرَبُّكُمْyour Lordفَٱتَّقُونِso fear Me52
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟But they cut offأَمْرَهُمtheir affair (of unity)بَيْنَهُمْbetween themزُبُرًا(into) sectsكُلُّeachحِزْبٍۢfactionبِمَاin whatلَدَيْهِمْthey haveفَرِحُونَrejoicing53
أَيَحْسَبُونَDo they thinkأَنَّمَاthat whatنُمِدُّهُمWe extend to themبِهِۦ[with it]مِنofمَّالٍwealthوَبَنِينَand children55
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoهُم[they]مِّنْfromخَشْيَةِ(the) fearرَبِّهِم(of) their Lordمُّشْفِقُونَ(are) cautious57
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيُؤْتُونَgiveمَآwhatءَاتَوا۟they giveوَّقُلُوبُهُمْwhile their heartsوَجِلَةٌ(are) fearfulأَنَّهُمْbecause theyإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordرَٰجِعُونَ(will) return60
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ(It is) thoseيُسَٰرِعُونَwho hastenفِىinٱلْخَيْرَٰتِthe good (deeds)وَهُمْand theyلَهَاin themسَٰبِقُونَ(are) foremost61
وَلَاAnd notنُكَلِّفُWe burdenنَفْسًاany soulإِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَا(to) its capacityوَلَدَيْنَاand with Usكِتَٰبٌ(is) a Recordيَنطِقُ(which) speaksبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthوَهُمْand theyلَا(will) notيُظْلَمُونَbe wronged62
بَلْNayقُلُوبُهُمْtheir heartsفِى(are) inغَمْرَةٍconfusionمِّنْoverهَٰذَاthisوَلَهُمْand for themأَعْمَٰلٌ(are) deedsمِّنbesidesدُونِbesidesذَٰلِكَthatهُمْtheyلَهَاfor itعَٰمِلُونَ(are) doers63
حَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَآwhenأَخَذْنَاWe seizeمُتْرَفِيهِمtheir affluent onesبِٱلْعَذَابِwith the punishmentإِذَاbeholdهُمْTheyيَجْـَٔرُونَcry for help64
لَا(Do) notتَجْـَٔرُوا۟cry for helpٱلْيَوْمَtodayإِنَّكُمIndeed, youمِّنَّاfrom Usلَاnotتُنصَرُونَwill be helped65
قَدْVerilyكَانَتْwereءَايَٰتِىMy Versesتُتْلَىٰrecitedعَلَيْكُمْto youفَكُنتُمْbut you usedعَلَىٰٓ(to) onأَعْقَٰبِكُمْyour heelsتَنكِصُونَturn back66
أَفَلَمْThen, do notيَدَّبَّرُوا۟they ponderٱلْقَوْلَthe Wordأَمْorجَآءَهُمhas come to themمَّاwhatلَمْnotيَأْتِ(had) comeءَابَآءَهُمُ(to) their forefathersٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(to) their forefathers68
أَمْOrلَمْ(do) notيَعْرِفُوا۟they recognizeرَسُولَهُمْtheir Messengerفَهُمْso theyلَهُۥ(are) rejecting himمُنكِرُونَ(are) rejecting him69
أَمْOrيَقُولُونَthey sayبِهِۦIn himجِنَّةٌۢ(is) madnessبَلْNayجَآءَهُمhe brought themبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthوَأَكْثَرُهُمْbut most of themلِلْحَقِّto the truthكَٰرِهُونَ(are) averse70
وَلَوِBut ifٱتَّبَعَ(had) followedٱلْحَقُّthe truthأَهْوَآءَهُمْtheir desiresلَفَسَدَتِsurely (would) have been corruptedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضُand the earthوَمَنand whoeverفِيهِنَّ(is) thereinبَلْNayأَتَيْنَٰهُمWe have brought themبِذِكْرِهِمْtheir reminderفَهُمْbut theyعَنfromذِكْرِهِمtheir reminderمُّعْرِضُونَ(are) turning away71
أَمْOrتَسْـَٔلُهُمْyou ask themخَرْجًا(for) a paymentفَخَرَاجُBut the paymentرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordخَيْرٌ(is) bestوَهُوَand Heخَيْرُ(is) the Bestٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ(of) the Providers72
وَإِنَّكَAnd indeed, youلَتَدْعُوهُمْcertainly call themإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطٍ(the) PathمُّسْتَقِيمٍStraight73
وَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterعَنِfromٱلصِّرَٰطِthe pathلَنَٰكِبُونَsurely (are) deviating74
وَلَوْAnd ifرَحِمْنَٰهُمْWe had mercy on themوَكَشَفْنَاand We removedمَاwhatبِهِم(was) on themمِّنofضُرٍّ(the) hardshipلَّلَجُّوا۟surely they would persistفِىinطُغْيَٰنِهِمْtheir transgressionيَعْمَهُونَwandering blindly75
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَخَذْنَٰهُمWe seized themبِٱلْعَذَابِwith the punishmentفَمَاbut notٱسْتَكَانُوا۟they submitلِرَبِّهِمْto their Lordوَمَاand notيَتَضَرَّعُونَthey supplicate humbly76
حَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَاwhenفَتَحْنَاWe openedعَلَيْهِمfor themبَابًاa gateذَاof a punishmentعَذَابٍof a punishmentشَدِيدٍsevereإِذَاbeholdهُمْTheyفِيهِin itمُبْلِسُونَ(will be in) despair77
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَنشَأَproducedلَكُمُfor youٱلسَّمْعَthe hearingوَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَand the sightوَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَand the feelingقَلِيلًاlittleمَّا(is) whatتَشْكُرُونَyou give thanks78
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoذَرَأَكُمْmultiplied youفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَإِلَيْهِand to Himتُحْشَرُونَyou will be gathered79
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُحْىِۦgives lifeوَيُمِيتُand causes deathوَلَهُand for Himٱخْتِلَٰفُ(is the) alternationٱلَّيْلِ(of) the nightوَٱلنَّهَارِand the dayأَفَلَاThen will notتَعْقِلُونَyou reason80
قَالُوٓا۟They saidأَءِذَاWhat! Whenمِتْنَاwe are deadوَكُنَّاand becomeتُرَابًاdustوَعِظَٰمًاand bonesأَءِنَّاwould weلَمَبْعُوثُونَsurely be resurrected82
لَقَدْVerilyوُعِدْنَاwe have been promisedنَحْنُ[we]وَءَابَآؤُنَاand our forefathersهَٰذَاthisمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeإِنْnotهَٰذَآ(is) thisإِلَّآbutأَسَٰطِيرُ(the) talesٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)83
قُلSayلِّمَنِTo whom (belongs)ٱلْأَرْضُthe earthوَمَنand whoeverفِيهَآ(is) in itإِنifكُنتُمْyouتَعْلَمُونَknow84
قُلْSayمَنWhoرَّبُّ(is the) Lordٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the seven heavensٱلسَّبْعِ(of) the seven heavensوَرَبُّand (the) Lordٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the Throneٱلْعَظِيمِthe Great86
قُلْSayمَنۢWho is (it)بِيَدِهِۦin Whose Hand(s)مَلَكُوتُ(is the) dominionكُلِّ(of) allشَىْءٍthingsوَهُوَand Heيُجِيرُprotectsوَلَاand no (one)يُجَارُ(can) be protectedعَلَيْهِagainst HimإِنIfكُنتُمْyouتَعْلَمُونَknow88
بَلْNayأَتَيْنَٰهُمWe (have) brought themبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthوَإِنَّهُمْbut indeed, theyلَكَٰذِبُونَsurely, (are) liars90
مَاNotٱتَّخَذَAllah has takenٱللَّهُAllah has takenمِنanyوَلَدٍsonوَمَاand notكَانَisمَعَهُۥwith HimمِنْanyإِلَٰهٍgodإِذًاThenلَّذَهَبَsurely (would have) taken awayكُلُّeachإِلَٰهٍۢgodبِمَاwhatخَلَقَhe createdوَلَعَلَاand surely would have overpoweredبَعْضُهُمْsome of themعَلَىٰ[on]بَعْضٍothersسُبْحَٰنَGlory beٱللَّهِ(to) Allahعَمَّاabove whatيَصِفُونَthey attribute91
عَٰلِمِKnowerٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenوَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِand the witnessedفَتَعَٰلَىٰexalted is Heعَمَّاabove whatيُشْرِكُونَthey associate92
رَبِّMy Lordفَلَاthen (do) notتَجْعَلْنِىplace meفِىamongٱلْقَوْمِthe people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers94
وَإِنَّاAnd indeed WeعَلَىٰٓonأَنthatنُّرِيَكَWe show youمَاwhatنَعِدُهُمْWe have promised themلَقَٰدِرُونَsurely able95
ٱدْفَعْRepelبِٱلَّتِىby thatهِىَwhichأَحْسَنُ(is) best ٱلسَّيِّئَةَthe evilنَحْنُWeأَعْلَمُknow bestبِمَاof whatيَصِفُونَthey attribute96
وَقُلAnd sayرَّبِّMy LordأَعُوذُI seek refugeبِكَin Youمِنْfromهَمَزَٰتِ(the) suggestionsٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ(of) the evil ones97
حَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَاwhenجَآءَcomesأَحَدَهُمُ(to) one of themٱلْمَوْتُthe deathقَالَhe saysرَبِّMy LordٱرْجِعُونِSend me back99
لَعَلِّىٓThat I mayأَعْمَلُdoصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)فِيمَاin whatتَرَكْتُI left behindكَلَّآNoإِنَّهَاIndeed, itكَلِمَةٌ(is) a wordهُوَheقَآئِلُهَاspeaks itوَمِنand before themوَرَآئِهِمand before themبَرْزَخٌ(is) a barrierإِلَىٰtillيَوْمِ(the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَthey are resurrected100
فَإِذَاSo whenنُفِخَis blownفِىinٱلصُّورِthe trumpetفَلَآthen notأَنسَابَ(there) will be relationshipبَيْنَهُمْamong themيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayوَلَاand notيَتَسَآءَلُونَwill they ask each other101
فَمَنThen (the one) whoseثَقُلَتْ(are) heavyمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen those هُمُtheyٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ(are) the successful102
وَمَنْBut (the one) whoseخَفَّتْ(are) lightمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseٱلَّذِينَthey [who]خَسِرُوٓا۟have lostأَنفُسَهُمْtheir soulsفِىinجَهَنَّمَHellخَٰلِدُونَthey (will) abide forever103
تَلْفَحُWill burnوُجُوهَهُمُtheir facesٱلنَّارُthe Fireوَهُمْand theyفِيهَاin itكَٰلِحُونَ(will) grin with displaced lips104
أَلَمْWere notتَكُنْWere notءَايَٰتِىMy Versesتُتْلَىٰrecitedعَلَيْكُمْto youفَكُنتُمand you used (to)بِهَاdeny themتُكَذِّبُونَdeny them105
قَالُوا۟They (will) sayرَبَّنَاOur LordغَلَبَتْOvercameعَلَيْنَا[on] usشِقْوَتُنَاour wretchednessوَكُنَّاand we wereقَوْمًاa peopleضَآلِّينَastray106
رَبَّنَآOur LordأَخْرِجْنَاBring us outمِنْهَاfrom itفَإِنْthen ifعُدْنَاwe returnفَإِنَّاthen indeed, weظَٰلِمُونَ(would be) wrongdoers107
إِنَّهُۥIndeedكَانَ(there) wasفَرِيقٌa partyمِّنْofعِبَادِىMy slavesيَقُولُونَ(who) saidرَبَّنَآOur LordءَامَنَّاWe believeفَٱغْفِرْso forgiveلَنَاusوَٱرْحَمْنَاand have mercy on usوَأَنتَand Youخَيْرُ(are) bestٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ(of) those who show mercy109
فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْBut you took themسِخْرِيًّا(in) mockeryحَتَّىٰٓuntilأَنسَوْكُمْthey made you forgetذِكْرِىMy remembranceوَكُنتُمand you used (to)مِّنْهُمْat themتَضْحَكُونَlaugh110
إِنِّىIndeed, Iجَزَيْتُهُمُhave rewarded themٱلْيَوْمَthis Dayبِمَاbecauseصَبَرُوٓا۟they were patientأَنَّهُمْindeed, theyهُمُ[they]ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ(are) the successful ones111
قَٰلَHe will sayكَمْHow longلَبِثْتُمْdid you remainفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthعَدَدَ(in) numberسِنِينَ(of) years112
قَالُوا۟They will sayلَبِثْنَاWe remainedيَوْمًاa dayأَوْorبَعْضَa partيَوْمٍ(of) a dayفَسْـَٔلِbut askٱلْعَآدِّينَthose who keep count113
قَٰلَHe will sayإِنNotلَّبِثْتُمْyou stayedإِلَّاbutقَلِيلًاa littleلَّوْifأَنَّكُمْonly youكُنتُمْ[you]تَعْلَمُونَknew114
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْThen did you thinkأَنَّمَاthatخَلَقْنَٰكُمْWe created youعَبَثًاuselesslyوَأَنَّكُمْand that youإِلَيْنَاto Usلَاnotتُرْجَعُونَwill be returned115
فَتَعَٰلَىSo exalted isٱللَّهُAllahٱلْمَلِكُthe Kingٱلْحَقُّthe Truthلَآ(There is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimرَبُّ(the) Lordٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the ThroneٱلْكَرِيمِHonorable116
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَدْعُinvokesمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodءَاخَرَotherلَاnoبُرْهَٰنَproofلَهُۥfor himبِهِۦin itفَإِنَّمَاThen onlyحِسَابُهُۥhis accountعِندَ(is) withرَبِّهِۦٓhis LordإِنَّهُۥIndeed, [he]لَاnotيُفْلِحُwill succeedٱلْكَٰفِرُونَthe disbelievers117
وَقُلAnd sayرَّبِّMy LordٱغْفِرْForgiveوَٱرْحَمْand have mercyوَأَنتَand Youخَيْرُ(are the) Bestٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ(of) those who show mercy118

سُورَةٌA Surah أَنزَلْنَٰهَاWe (have) sent it downوَفَرَضْنَٰهَاand We (have) made it obligatoryوَأَنزَلْنَاand We (have) revealedفِيهَآthereinءَايَٰتٍۢVersesبَيِّنَٰتٍclearلَّعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَtake heed1
ٱلزَّانِيَةُThe fornicatressوَٱلزَّانِىand the fornicatorفَٱجْلِدُوا۟[then] flogكُلَّeachوَٰحِدٍoneمِّنْهُمَاof themمِا۟ئَةَ(with) hundredجَلْدَةٍlash(es)وَلَاAnd (let) notتَأْخُذْكُمwithhold youبِهِمَاpity for themرَأْفَةٌpity for themفِىconcerningدِينِ(the) religion of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) religion of Allahإِنifكُنتُمْyouتُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِthe LastوَلْيَشْهَدْAnd let witnessعَذَابَهُمَاtheir punishmentطَآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers2
ٱلزَّانِىThe fornicatorلَا(will) notيَنكِحُmarryإِلَّاexceptزَانِيَةًa fornicatressأَوْorمُشْرِكَةًa polytheist womanوَٱلزَّانِيَةُand the fornicatress لَا(will) notيَنكِحُهَآmarry herإِلَّاexceptزَانٍa fornicatorأَوْorمُشْرِكٌa polytheist manوَحُرِّمَAnd is forbiddenذَٰلِكَthatعَلَىtoٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers3
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَرْمُونَaccuseٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِthe chaste womenثُمَّthenلَمْnotيَأْتُوا۟they bringبِأَرْبَعَةِfourشُهَدَآءَwitnessesفَٱجْلِدُوهُمْthen flog themثَمَٰنِينَ(with) eightyجَلْدَةًlashe(s)وَلَاand (do) notتَقْبَلُوا۟acceptلَهُمْtheirشَهَٰدَةًtestimonyأَبَدًاeverوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَAnd thoseهُمُtheyٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ(are) the defiantly disobedient4
إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoتَابُوا۟repentمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterذَٰلِكَthatوَأَصْلَحُوا۟and reformفَإِنَّThen indeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful5
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَرْمُونَaccuseأَزْوَٰجَهُمْtheir spousesوَلَمْand notيَكُنhaveلَّهُمْfor themشُهَدَآءُwitnessesإِلَّآexceptأَنفُسُهُمْthemselvesفَشَهَٰدَةُthen (the) testimonyأَحَدِهِمْ(of) one of themأَرْبَعُ(is) fourشَهَٰدَٰتٍۢtestimoniesبِٱللَّهِby Allahإِنَّهُۥthat heلَمِنَ(is) surely ofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful6
وَٱلْخَٰمِسَةُAnd the fifthأَنَّthatلَعْنَتَ(the) curse of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) curse of Allahعَلَيْهِ(be) upon himإِنifكَانَhe isمِنَofٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars7
وَيَدْرَؤُا۟But it would preventعَنْهَاfrom herٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentأَنthatتَشْهَدَshe bears witnessأَرْبَعَfourشَهَٰدَٰتٍۢtestimoniesبِٱللَّهِby Allahإِنَّهُۥthat heلَمِنَ(is) surely ofٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars8
وَٱلْخَٰمِسَةَAnd the fifthأَنَّthatغَضَبَthe wrath of Allahٱللَّهِthe wrath of Allahعَلَيْهَآ(be) upon herإِنifكَانَhe isمِنَofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful9
وَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(for) the Grace of Allahٱللَّهِ(for) the Grace of Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His Mercy وَأَنَّand thatٱللَّهَAllahتَوَّابٌ(is) Oft-Returning (to Mercy)حَكِيمٌAll-Wise10
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoجَآءُوbroughtبِٱلْإِفْكِthe lieعُصْبَةٌ(are) a groupمِّنكُمْamong youلَا(Do) notتَحْسَبُوهُthink itشَرًّاbadلَّكُمfor youبَلْnayهُوَitخَيْرٌ(is) goodلَّكُمْfor youلِكُلِّFor everyٱمْرِئٍpersonمِّنْهُمamong themمَّا(is) whatٱكْتَسَبَhe earnedمِنَofٱلْإِثْمِthe sinوَٱلَّذِىand the one whoتَوَلَّىٰtook upon himself a greater share of itكِبْرَهُۥtook upon himself a greater share of itمِنْهُمْamong them لَهُۥfor himعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌgreat11
لَّوْلَآWhy notإِذْwhenسَمِعْتُمُوهُyou heard itظَنَّthinkٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتُand the believing womenبِأَنفُسِهِمْgood of themselvesخَيْرًاgood of themselvesوَقَالُوا۟and sayهَٰذَآThisإِفْكٌ(is) a lieمُّبِينٌclear12
لَّوْلَاWhy (did) notجَآءُوthey bringعَلَيْهِfor itبِأَرْبَعَةِfourشُهَدَآءَwitnessesفَإِذْThen whenلَمْnotيَأْتُوا۟they broughtبِٱلشُّهَدَآءِthe witnessesفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseعِندَnear Allahٱللَّهِnear Allahهُمُtheyٱلْكَٰذِبُونَ(are) the liars13
وَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(for the) Graceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His Mercyفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the Hereafterلَمَسَّكُمْsurely would have touched youفِىinمَآwhatأَفَضْتُمْyou had rushed gliblyفِيهِconcerning itعَذَابٌa punishmentعَظِيمٌgreat14
إِذْWhenتَلَقَّوْنَهُۥyou received itبِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْwith your tonguesوَتَقُولُونَand you saidبِأَفْوَاهِكُمwith your mouthsمَّاwhatلَيْسَnotلَكُمfor youبِهِۦof itعِلْمٌany knowledgeوَتَحْسَبُونَهُۥand you thought itهَيِّنًا(was) insignificantوَهُوَwhile itعِندَ(was) near Allahٱللَّهِ(was) near Allahعَظِيمٌgreat15
وَلَوْلَآAnd why notإِذْwhenسَمِعْتُمُوهُyou heard itقُلْتُمyou saidمَّاNotيَكُونُit isلَنَآfor usأَنthatنَّتَكَلَّمَwe speakبِهَٰذَاof thisسُبْحَٰنَكَGlory be to YouهَٰذَاThisبُهْتَٰنٌ(is) a slanderعَظِيمٌgreat16
يَعِظُكُمُAllah warns youٱللَّهُAllah warns youأَنthatتَعُودُوا۟you returnلِمِثْلِهِۦٓ(to the) like of itأَبَدًاeverإِنifكُنتُمyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers17
وَيُبَيِّنُAnd Allah makes clearٱللَّهُAnd Allah makes clearلَكُمُto youٱلْءَايَٰتِthe VersesوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلِيمٌ(is) All-KnowerحَكِيمٌAll-Wise18
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُحِبُّونَlikeأَنthatتَشِيعَ(should) spreadٱلْفَٰحِشَةُthe immoralityفِىamongٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌpainfulفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the HereafterوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَعْلَمُknowsوَأَنتُمْwhile youلَا(do) notتَعْلَمُونَknow19
وَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(for the) Grace of Allahٱللَّهِ(for the) Grace of Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His MercyوَأَنَّAnd thatٱللَّهَAllahرَءُوفٌ(is) Full of KindnessرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful20
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeلَا(Do) notتَتَّبِعُوا۟followخُطُوَٰتِ(the) footstepsٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ(of) the Shaitaanوَمَنand whoeverيَتَّبِعْfollowsخُطُوَٰتِ(the) footstepsٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ(of) the Shaitaanفَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heيَأْمُرُcommandsبِٱلْفَحْشَآءِthe immoralityوَٱلْمُنكَرِand the evilوَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(for the) Grace of Allahٱللَّهِ(for the) Grace of Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His Mercyمَاnotزَكَىٰ(would) have been pureمِنكُمamong youمِّنْanyoneأَحَدٍanyoneأَبَدًاeverوَلَٰكِنَّbutٱللَّهَAllahيُزَكِّىpurifiesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearerعَلِيمٌAll-Knower21
وَلَاAnd notيَأْتَلِlet swearأُو۟لُوا۟those of virtueٱلْفَضْلِthose of virtueمِنكُمْamong youوَٱلسَّعَةِand the amplitude of meansأَنthatيُؤْتُوٓا۟they giveأُو۟لِى(to) the near of kinٱلْقُرْبَىٰ(to) the near of kinوَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَand the needyوَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَand the emigrantsفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَلْيَعْفُوا۟And let them pardonوَلْيَصْفَحُوٓا۟and let them overlookأَلَا(Do) notتُحِبُّونَyou likeأَنthatيَغْفِرَAllah should forgiveٱللَّهُAllah should forgiveلَكُمْyouوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful22
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَرْمُونَaccuseٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِthe chaste womenٱلْغَٰفِلَٰتِthe unaware womenٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ(and) the believing womenلُعِنُوا۟are cursedفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the HereafterوَلَهُمْAnd for themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌgreat23
يَوْمَ(On a) Dayتَشْهَدُwill bear witnessعَلَيْهِمْagainst themأَلْسِنَتُهُمْtheir tonguesوَأَيْدِيهِمْand their handsوَأَرْجُلُهُمand their feetبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they usedيَعْمَلُونَ(to) do24
يَوْمَئِذٍThat DayيُوَفِّيهِمُAllah will pay them in fullٱللَّهُAllah will pay them in fullدِينَهُمُtheir recompenseٱلْحَقَّthe dueوَيَعْلَمُونَand they will knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahهُوَHeٱلْحَقُّ(is) the Truthٱلْمُبِينُthe Manifest25
ٱلْخَبِيثَٰتُEvil womenلِلْخَبِيثِينَ(are) for evil menوَٱلْخَبِيثُونَand evil menلِلْخَبِيثَٰتِ(are) for evil womenوَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُAnd good womenلِلطَّيِّبِينَ(are) for good menوَٱلطَّيِّبُونَand good menلِلطَّيِّبَٰتِ(are) for good womenأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseمُبَرَّءُونَ(are) innocentمِمَّاof whatيَقُولُونَthey sayلَهُمFor themمَّغْفِرَةٌ(is) forgivenessوَرِزْقٌand a provisionكَرِيمٌnoble26
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believeلَا(Do) notتَدْخُلُوا۟enterبُيُوتًاhousesغَيْرَother (than)بُيُوتِكُمْyour housesحَتَّىٰuntilتَسْتَأْنِسُوا۟you have asked permissionوَتُسَلِّمُوا۟and you have greetedعَلَىٰٓ[on]أَهْلِهَاits inhabitantsذَٰلِكُمْThatخَيْرٌ(is) bestلَّكُمْfor youلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَpay heed27
فَإِنBut ifلَّمْnotتَجِدُوا۟you findفِيهَآin itأَحَدًاanyoneفَلَاthen (do) notتَدْخُلُوهَاenter itحَتَّىٰuntilيُؤْذَنَpermission has been givenلَكُمْto youوَإِنAnd ifقِيلَit is saidلَكُمُto youٱرْجِعُوا۟Go backفَٱرْجِعُوا۟then go backهُوَitأَزْكَىٰ(is) purerلَكُمْfor youوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower28
لَّيْسَNotعَلَيْكُمْupon youجُنَاحٌ(is) any blameأَنthatتَدْخُلُوا۟you enterبُيُوتًاhousesغَيْرَnotمَسْكُونَةٍinhabitedفِيهَاin itمَتَٰعٌ(is) a provisionلَّكُمْfor youوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَعْلَمُknowsمَاwhatتُبْدُونَyou revealوَمَاand whatتَكْتُمُونَyou conceal29
قُلSayلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believing menيَغُضُّوا۟they should lowerمِنْtheir gazeأَبْصَٰرِهِمْtheir gazeوَيَحْفَظُوا۟and they should guardفُرُوجَهُمْtheir chastityذَٰلِكَThatأَزْكَىٰ(is) purerلَهُمْfor themإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahخَبِيرٌۢ(is) All-Awareبِمَاof whatيَصْنَعُونَthey do30
وَقُلAnd sayلِّلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِto the believing womenيَغْضُضْنَ(that) they should lowerمِنْ[of]أَبْصَٰرِهِنَّtheir gazeوَيَحْفَظْنَand they should guardفُرُوجَهُنَّtheir chastityوَلَاand notيُبْدِينَ(to) displayزِينَتَهُنَّtheir adornmentإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatظَهَرَis apparentمِنْهَاof itوَلْيَضْرِبْنَAnd let them drawبِخُمُرِهِنَّtheir head coversعَلَىٰoverجُيُوبِهِنَّtheir bosomsوَلَاand notيُبْدِينَ(to) displayزِينَتَهُنَّtheir adornmentإِلَّاexceptلِبُعُولَتِهِنَّto their husbandsأَوْorءَابَآئِهِنَّtheir fathersأَوْorءَابَآءِfathersبُعُولَتِهِنَّ(of) their husbandsأَوْorأَبْنَآئِهِنَّtheir sonsأَوْorأَبْنَآءِsonsبُعُولَتِهِنَّ(of) their husbandsأَوْorإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّtheir brothersأَوْorبَنِىٓsonsإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ(of) their brothersأَوْorبَنِىٓsonsأَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ(of) their sistersأَوْorنِسَآئِهِنَّtheir womenأَوْorمَاwhatمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُهُنَّtheir right handsأَوِorٱلتَّٰبِعِينَthe attendantsغَيْرِhaving no physical desireأُو۟لِىhaving no physical desireٱلْإِرْبَةِhaving no physical desireمِنَamongٱلرِّجَالِ[the] menأَوِorٱلطِّفْلِ[the] childrenٱلَّذِينَwhoلَمْ(are) notيَظْهَرُوا۟awareعَلَىٰofعَوْرَٰتِprivate aspectsٱلنِّسَآءِ(of) the womenوَلَاAnd notيَضْرِبْنَlet them stampبِأَرْجُلِهِنَّtheir feetلِيُعْلَمَto make knownمَاwhatيُخْفِينَthey concealمِنofزِينَتِهِنَّtheir adornmentوَتُوبُوٓا۟And turnإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahجَمِيعًاaltogetherأَيُّهَO believersٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَO believersلَعَلَّكُمْSo that you mayتُفْلِحُونَsucceed31
وَأَنكِحُوا۟And marryٱلْأَيَٰمَىٰthe singleمِنكُمْamong youوَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَand the righteousمِنْamongعِبَادِكُمْyour male slavesوَإِمَآئِكُمْand your female slavesإِنIfيَكُونُوا۟they areفُقَرَآءَpoorيُغْنِهِمُAllah will enrich themٱللَّهُAllah will enrich themمِنfromفَضْلِهِۦHis BountyوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahوَٰسِعٌ(is) All-EncompassingعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing32
وَلْيَسْتَعْفِفِAnd let be chasteٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيَجِدُونَfindنِكَاحًا(means for) marriageحَتَّىٰuntilيُغْنِيَهُمُAllah enriches themٱللَّهُAllah enriches themمِنfromفَضْلِهِۦHis BountyوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَبْتَغُونَseekٱلْكِتَٰبَthe writingمِمَّاfrom (those) whomمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُكُمْyour right handsفَكَاتِبُوهُمْthen give them (the) writingإِنْifعَلِمْتُمْyou knowفِيهِمْin themخَيْرًاany goodوَءَاتُوهُمand give themمِّنfromمَّالِthe wealth of Allahٱللَّهِthe wealth of AllahٱلَّذِىٓwhichءَاتَىٰكُمْHe has given youوَلَاAnd (do) notتُكْرِهُوا۟compelفَتَيَٰتِكُمْyour slave girlsعَلَىtoٱلْبِغَآءِ[the] prostitutionإِنْifأَرَدْنَthey desireتَحَصُّنًاchastityلِّتَبْتَغُوا۟that you may seekعَرَضَtemporary gainٱلْحَيَوٰةِ(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَمَنAnd whoeverيُكْرِههُّنَّcompels themفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterإِكْرَٰهِهِنَّtheir compulsionغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful33
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَنزَلْنَآWe have sent downإِلَيْكُمْto youءَايَٰتٍVersesمُّبَيِّنَٰتٍclearوَمَثَلًاand an exampleمِّنَofٱلَّذِينَthose whoخَلَوْا۟passed awayمِنbefore youقَبْلِكُمْbefore youوَمَوْعِظَةًand an admonitionلِّلْمُتَّقِينَfor those who fear (Allah)34
ٱللَّهُAllahنُورُ(is the) Lightٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthمَثَلُ(The) exampleنُورِهِۦ(of) His Lightكَمِشْكَوٰةٍ(is) like a nicheفِيهَاin itمِصْبَاحٌ(is) a lampٱلْمِصْبَاحُthe lampفِى(is) inزُجَاجَةٍa glassٱلزُّجَاجَةُthe glassكَأَنَّهَاas if it wereكَوْكَبٌa starدُرِّىٌّbrilliantيُوقَدُ(which) is litمِنfromشَجَرَةٍa treeمُّبَٰرَكَةٍblessed زَيْتُونَةٍan oliveلَّاnotشَرْقِيَّةٍ(of the) eastوَلَاand notغَرْبِيَّةٍ(of the) westيَكَادُwould almostزَيْتُهَاits oilيُضِىٓءُglowوَلَوْeven ifلَمْnotتَمْسَسْهُtouched itنَارٌfireنُّورٌLightعَلَىٰuponنُورٍLightيَهْدِىAllah guidesٱللَّهُAllah guidesلِنُورِهِۦto His LightمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَضْرِبُAnd Allah sets forthٱللَّهُAnd Allah sets forthٱلْأَمْثَٰلَthe examplesلِلنَّاسِfor the mankindوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمٌ(is) All-Knower35
فِىInبُيُوتٍhousesأَذِنَ(which) Allah orderedٱللَّهُ(which) Allah orderedأَنthatتُرْفَعَthey be raisedوَيُذْكَرَand be mentionedفِيهَاin themٱسْمُهُۥHis nameيُسَبِّحُGlorifyلَهُۥ[to] Himفِيهَاin themبِٱلْغُدُوِّin the morningsوَٱلْءَاصَالِand (in) the evenings36
رِجَالٌMen لَّاnotتُلْهِيهِمْdistracts themتِجَٰرَةٌtradeوَلَاand notبَيْعٌsaleعَنfromذِكْرِ(the) remembrance of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) remembrance of Allahوَإِقَامِand (from) establishingٱلصَّلَوٰةِthe prayerوَإِيتَآءِand givingٱلزَّكَوٰةِzakahيَخَافُونَThey fearيَوْمًاa Dayتَتَقَلَّبُwill turn aboutفِيهِthereinٱلْقُلُوبُthe heartsوَٱلْأَبْصَٰرُand the eyes37
لِيَجْزِيَهُمُThat Allah may reward themٱللَّهُThat Allah may reward themأَحْسَنَ(with the) bestمَا(of) whatعَمِلُوا۟they didوَيَزِيدَهُمand increase themمِّنfromفَضْلِهِۦHis BountyوَٱللَّهُAnd AllahيَرْزُقُprovidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsبِغَيْرِwithoutحِسَابٍmeasure38
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieveأَعْمَٰلُهُمْtheir deedsكَسَرَابٍۢ(are) like a mirageبِقِيعَةٍin a lowlandيَحْسَبُهُthinks itٱلظَّمْـَٔانُthe thirsty oneمَآءً(to be) waterحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenجَآءَهُۥhe comes to itلَمْnotيَجِدْهُhe finds itشَيْـًٔا(to be) anythingوَوَجَدَbut he findsٱللَّهَAllahعِندَهُۥbefore himفَوَفَّىٰهُHe will pay him in fullحِسَابَهُۥhis dueوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahسَرِيعُ(is) swiftٱلْحِسَابِ(in) the account39
أَوْOrكَظُلُمَٰتٍ(is) like (the) darkness[es]فِىinبَحْرٍa seaلُّجِّىٍّdeepيَغْشَىٰهُcovers itمَوْجٌa waveمِّنon itفَوْقِهِۦon itمَوْجٌa waveمِّنon itفَوْقِهِۦon itسَحَابٌa cloudظُلُمَٰتٌۢdarkness[es]بَعْضُهَاsome of itفَوْقَonبَعْضٍothersإِذَآWhenأَخْرَجَhe puts outيَدَهُۥhis handلَمْhardlyيَكَدْhardlyيَرَىٰهَاhe (can) see itوَمَنAnd (for) whomلَّمْnotيَجْعَلِAllah (has) madeٱللَّهُAllah (has) madeلَهُۥfor himنُورًاa lightفَمَاthen notلَهُۥfor himمِن(is) anyنُّورٍlight40
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllah يُسَبِّحُglorifyلَهُۥHimمَنwhoeverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَٱلطَّيْرُand the birdsصَٰٓفَّٰتٍ(with) wings outspreadكُلٌّEach oneقَدْverilyعَلِمَknowsصَلَاتَهُۥits prayerوَتَسْبِيحَهُۥand its glorificationوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلِيمٌۢ(is) All-Knowerبِمَاof whatيَفْعَلُونَthey do41
وَلِلَّهِAnd to Allah (belongs)مُلْكُ(the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَإِلَىAnd toٱللَّهِAllahٱلْمَصِيرُ(is) the destination42
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahيُزْجِىdrivesسَحَابًاcloudsثُمَّthenيُؤَلِّفُjoinsبَيْنَهُۥbetween themثُمَّthenيَجْعَلُهُۥmakes themرُكَامًا(into) a massفَتَرَىthen you seeٱلْوَدْقَthe rainيَخْرُجُcome forthمِنْfromخِلَٰلِهِۦtheir midstوَيُنَزِّلُAnd He sends downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِ(the) skyمِن[from]جِبَالٍmountainsفِيهَاwithin itمِنۢ[of]بَرَدٍ(is) hailفَيُصِيبُand He strikesبِهِۦwith itمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَصْرِفُهُۥand averts itعَنfromمَّنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsيَكَادُNearlyسَنَا(the) flashبَرْقِهِۦ(of) its lightingيَذْهَبُtakes awayبِٱلْأَبْصَٰرِthe sight43
يُقَلِّبُAllah alternatesٱللَّهُAllah alternatesٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the dayإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَعِبْرَةًsurely is a lessonلِّأُو۟لِىfor those who have visionٱلْأَبْصَٰرِfor those who have vision44
وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahخَلَقَcreatedكُلَّeveryدَآبَّةٍmoving creatureمِّنfromمَّآءٍwaterفَمِنْهُمOf themمَّن(is a kind) whoيَمْشِىwalksعَلَىٰonبَطْنِهِۦits bellyوَمِنْهُمand of themمَّن(is a kind) whoيَمْشِىwalksعَلَىٰonرِجْلَيْنِtwo legsوَمِنْهُمand of themمَّن(is a kind) whoيَمْشِىwalksعَلَىٰٓonأَرْبَعٍfourيَخْلُقُAllah createsٱللَّهُAllah createsمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe willsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىٰonكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingقَدِيرٌ(is) All-Powerful45
لَّقَدْVerilyأَنزَلْنَآWe have sent downءَايَٰتٍVersesمُّبَيِّنَٰتٍclearوَٱللَّهُAnd AllahيَهْدِىguidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطٍa pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍstraight46
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayءَامَنَّاWe believeبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَبِٱلرَّسُولِand in the Messengerوَأَطَعْنَاand we obeyثُمَّThenيَتَوَلَّىٰturns awayفَرِيقٌa partyمِّنْهُمof themمِّنۢafterبَعْدِafterذَٰلِكَthatوَمَآAnd notأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(are) believers47
وَإِذَاAnd whenدُعُوٓا۟they are calledإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerلِيَحْكُمَto judgeبَيْنَهُمْbetween themإِذَاbeholdفَرِيقٌa partyمِّنْهُمof themمُّعْرِضُونَ(is) averse48
وَإِنBut ifيَكُنisلَّهُمُwith themٱلْحَقُّthe truthيَأْتُوٓا۟they comeإِلَيْهِto himمُذْعِنِينَ(as) promptly obedient49
أَفِىIs (there) inقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsمَّرَضٌa diseaseأَمِorٱرْتَابُوٓا۟do they doubtأَمْorيَخَافُونَthey fearأَنthatيَحِيفَAllah will be unjustٱللَّهُAllah will be unjustعَلَيْهِمْto themوَرَسُولُهُۥand His MessengerبَلْNayأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseهُمُ[they]ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ(are) the wrongdoers50
إِنَّمَاOnlyكَانَisقَوْلَ(the) statementٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believersإِذَاwhenدُعُوٓا۟they are calledإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerلِيَحْكُمَto judgeبَيْنَهُمْbetween themأَن(is) thatيَقُولُوا۟they sayسَمِعْنَاWe hearوَأَطَعْنَاand we obeyوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَAnd thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ(are) the successful51
وَمَنAnd whoeverيُطِعِobeysٱللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerوَيَخْشَand fearsٱللَّهَAllahوَيَتَّقْهِand (is) conscious of Himفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ(are) the successful ones52
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟And they swearبِٱللَّهِby Allahجَهْدَstrongأَيْمَٰنِهِمْtheir oathsلَئِنْthat ifأَمَرْتَهُمْyou ordered themلَيَخْرُجُنَّsurely they (would) go forthقُلSayلَّا(Do) notتُقْسِمُوا۟swearطَاعَةٌObedienceمَّعْرُوفَةٌ(is) knownإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahخَبِيرٌۢ(is) All-Awareبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou do53
قُلْSayأَطِيعُوا۟ObeyٱللَّهَAllahوَأَطِيعُوا۟and obeyٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَإِنbut ifتَوَلَّوْا۟you turn awayفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyعَلَيْهِupon himمَا(is) whatحُمِّلَ(is) placed on himوَعَلَيْكُمand on youمَّا(is) whatحُمِّلْتُمْ(is) placed on youوَإِنAnd ifتُطِيعُوهُyou obey himتَهْتَدُوا۟you will be guidedوَمَاAnd notعَلَى(is) onٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerإِلَّاexceptٱلْبَلَٰغُthe conveyanceٱلْمُبِينُ[the] clear54
وَعَدَAllah (has) promisedٱللَّهُAllah (has) promisedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeمِنكُمْamong youوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsلَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْsurely He will grant them successionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthكَمَاasٱسْتَخْلَفَHe gave successionٱلَّذِينَto those whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themوَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّand that He will surely establishلَهُمْfor themدِينَهُمُtheir religionٱلَّذِىwhichٱرْتَضَىٰHe has approvedلَهُمْfor themوَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمand surely He will change for themمِّنۢafterبَعْدِafterخَوْفِهِمْtheir fearأَمْنًاsecurityيَعْبُدُونَنِى(for) they worship Meلَاnotيُشْرِكُونَthey associateبِىwith MeشَيْـًٔاanythingوَمَنBut whoeverكَفَرَdisbelievedبَعْدَafterذَٰلِكَthatفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ(are) the defiantly disobedient55
وَأَقِيمُوا۟And establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتُوا۟and giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahوَأَطِيعُوا۟and obeyٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy56
لَا(Do) notتَحْسَبَنَّthinkٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveمُعْجِزِينَ(can) escapeفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَمَأْوَىٰهُمُAnd their abodeٱلنَّارُ(will be) the Fireوَلَبِئْسَand wretched isٱلْمَصِيرُthe destination57
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeٱلَّذِينَO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeلِيَسْتَـْٔذِنكُمُLet ask your permissionٱلَّذِينَthose whomمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُكُمْyour right handsوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoلَمْ(have) notيَبْلُغُوا۟reachedٱلْحُلُمَpubertyمِنكُمْamong youثَلَٰثَ(at) threeمَرَّٰتٍtimesمِّنbeforeقَبْلِbeforeصَلَوٰةِ(the) prayerٱلْفَجْرِ(of) dawnوَحِينَand whenتَضَعُونَyou put asideثِيَابَكُمyour garmentsمِّنَatٱلظَّهِيرَةِnoonوَمِنۢand afterبَعْدِand afterصَلَوٰةِ(the) prayerٱلْعِشَآءِ(of) nightثَلَٰثُ(These) threeعَوْرَٰتٍ(are) times of privacyلَّكُمْfor youلَيْسَNotعَلَيْكُمْon youوَلَاand notعَلَيْهِمْon themجُنَاحٌۢany blameبَعْدَهُنَّafter thatطَوَّٰفُونَ(as) moving aboutعَلَيْكُمamong youبَعْضُكُمْsome of youعَلَىٰamongبَعْضٍothersكَذَٰلِكَThusيُبَيِّنُAllah makes clearٱللَّهُAllah makes clearلَكُمُfor youٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Versesوَٱللَّهُand Allahعَلِيمٌ(is) All-KnowerحَكِيمٌAll-Wise58
وَإِذَاAnd whenبَلَغَreachٱلْأَطْفَٰلُthe childrenمِنكُمُamong youٱلْحُلُمَthe pubertyفَلْيَسْتَـْٔذِنُوا۟then let them ask permissionكَمَاasٱسْتَـْٔذَنَasked permissionٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themكَذَٰلِكَThusيُبَيِّنُAllah makes clearٱللَّهُAllah makes clearلَكُمْfor youءَايَٰتِهِۦHis VersesوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلِيمٌ(is) All-KnowerحَكِيمٌAll-Wise59
وَٱلْقَوَٰعِدُAnd postmenopausalمِنَamongٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenٱلَّٰتِىwhoلَا(do) notيَرْجُونَhave desireنِكَاحًا(for) marriageفَلَيْسَthen not isعَلَيْهِنَّon themجُنَاحٌany blameأَنthatيَضَعْنَthey put asideثِيَابَهُنَّtheir (outer) garmentsغَيْرَnotمُتَبَرِّجَٰتٍۢdisplayingبِزِينَةٍtheir adornmentوَأَنAnd thatيَسْتَعْفِفْنَthey modestly refrainخَيْرٌ(is) betterلَّهُنَّfor themوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearerعَلِيمٌAll-Knower60
لَّيْسَNot isعَلَىonٱلْأَعْمَىٰthe blindحَرَجٌany blameوَلَاand notعَلَىonٱلْأَعْرَجِthe lameحَرَجٌany blameوَلَاand notعَلَىonٱلْمَرِيضِthe sickحَرَجٌany blameوَلَاand notعَلَىٰٓonأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesأَنthatتَأْكُلُوا۟you eatمِنۢfromبُيُوتِكُمْyour housesأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesءَابَآئِكُمْ(of) your fathersأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesأُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ(of) your mothersأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesإِخْوَٰنِكُمْ(of) your brothersأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesأَخَوَٰتِكُمْ(of) your sistersأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesأَعْمَٰمِكُمْ(of) your paternal unclesأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesعَمَّٰتِكُمْ(of) your paternal auntsأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesأَخْوَٰلِكُمْ(of) your maternal unclesأَوْorبُيُوتِhousesخَٰلَٰتِكُمْ(of) your maternal auntsأَوْorمَاwhatمَلَكْتُمyou possessمَّفَاتِحَهُۥٓits keysأَوْorصَدِيقِكُمْyour friendلَيْسَNot isعَلَيْكُمْon youجُنَاحٌany blameأَنthatتَأْكُلُوا۟you eatجَمِيعًاtogetherأَوْorأَشْتَاتًاseparatelyفَإِذَاBut whenدَخَلْتُمyou enterبُيُوتًاhousesفَسَلِّمُوا۟then greetعَلَىٰٓ[on]أَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesتَحِيَّةًa greetingمِّنْfromعِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahمُبَٰرَكَةًblessedطَيِّبَةً(and) goodكَذَٰلِكَThusيُبَيِّنُAllah makes clearٱللَّهُAllah makes clearلَكُمُfor youٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Versesلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَعْقِلُونَunderstand61
إِنَّمَاOnlyٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersٱلَّذِينَ(are) those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerوَإِذَاand whenكَانُوا۟they areمَعَهُۥwith himعَلَىٰٓforأَمْرٍa matterجَامِعٍ(of) collective actionلَّمْnotيَذْهَبُوا۟they goحَتَّىٰuntilيَسْتَـْٔذِنُوهُthey (have) asked his permissionإِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَask your permissionأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseٱلَّذِينَ[those who]يُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His MessengerفَإِذَاSo whenٱسْتَـْٔذَنُوكَthey ask your permissionلِبَعْضِfor someشَأْنِهِمْaffair of theirsفَأْذَنthen give permissionلِّمَنto whomشِئْتَyou willمِنْهُمْamong themوَٱسْتَغْفِرْand ask forgivenessلَهُمُfor themٱللَّهَ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful62
لَّا(Do) notتَجْعَلُوا۟makeدُعَآءَ(the) callingٱلرَّسُولِ(of) the Messengerبَيْنَكُمْamong youكَدُعَآءِas (the) callبَعْضِكُم(of) some of youبَعْضًا(to) othersقَدْVerilyيَعْلَمُAllah knowsٱللَّهُAllah knowsٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَتَسَلَّلُونَslip awayمِنكُمْamong youلِوَاذًاunder shelterفَلْيَحْذَرِSo let bewareٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُخَالِفُونَopposeعَنْ[from]أَمْرِهِۦٓhis ordersأَنlestتُصِيبَهُمْbefalls themفِتْنَةٌa trialأَوْorيُصِيبَهُمْbefalls themعَذَابٌa punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful63
أَلَآNo doubtإِنَّIndeedلِلَّهِto Allah (belongs)مَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthقَدْVerilyيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَآwhatأَنتُمْyouعَلَيْهِ(are) on [it]وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayيُرْجَعُونَthey will be returnedإِلَيْهِto Himفَيُنَبِّئُهُمthen He will inform themبِمَاof whatعَمِلُوا۟they didوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمٌۢ(is) All-Knower64

ٱلَّذِىThe One Who لَهُۥto Him (belongs)مُلْكُ(the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَلَمْand notيَتَّخِذْHe has takenوَلَدًاa sonوَلَمْand notيَكُنHe hasلَّهُۥfor Himشَرِيكٌa partnerفِىinٱلْمُلْكِthe dominionوَخَلَقَand He (has) createdكُلَّeveryشَىْءٍthingفَقَدَّرَهُۥand determined itتَقْدِيرًا(with) determination2
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟Yet they have takenمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓbesides Himءَالِهَةًgodsلَّاnotيَخْلُقُونَthey createشَيْـًٔاanythingوَهُمْwhile theyيُخْلَقُونَare createdوَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey possessلِأَنفُسِهِمْfor themselvesضَرًّاany harmوَلَاand notنَفْعًاany benefitوَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey controlمَوْتًاdeathوَلَاand notحَيَوٰةًlifeوَلَاand notنُشُورًاresurrection3
وَقَالَAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieveإِنْNotهَٰذَآthisإِلَّآ(is) butإِفْكٌa lieٱفْتَرَىٰهُhe invented itوَأَعَانَهُۥand helped himعَلَيْهِat itقَوْمٌpeopleءَاخَرُونَotherفَقَدْBut verilyجَآءُوthey (have) producedظُلْمًاan injusticeوَزُورًاand a lie4
وَقَالُوٓا۟And they sayأَسَٰطِيرُTalesٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former peopleٱكْتَتَبَهَاwhich he has had writtenفَهِىَand theyتُمْلَىٰare dictatedعَلَيْهِto himبُكْرَةًmorningوَأَصِيلًاand evening5
قُلْSayأَنزَلَهُHas sent it downٱلَّذِىthe One Whoيَعْلَمُknowsٱلسِّرَّthe secretفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeكَانَisغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful6
وَقَالُوا۟And they sayمَالِWhy doesهَٰذَاthisٱلرَّسُولِMessengerيَأْكُلُeatٱلطَّعَامَ[the] foodوَيَمْشِىand walkفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِthe marketsلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَis sent downإِلَيْهِto himمَلَكٌan Angelفَيَكُونَthen he beمَعَهُۥwith himنَذِيرًاa warner7
أَوْOrيُلْقَىٰٓis deliveredإِلَيْهِto himكَنزٌa treasureأَوْorتَكُونُisلَهُۥfor himجَنَّةٌa gardenيَأْكُلُhe may eatمِنْهَاfrom itوَقَالَAnd sayٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersإِنNotتَتَّبِعُونَyou followإِلَّاbutرَجُلًاa manمَّسْحُورًاbewitched8
ٱنظُرْSeeكَيْفَhowضَرَبُوا۟they set forthلَكَfor youٱلْأَمْثَٰلَthe similitudesفَضَلُّوا۟but they have gone astrayفَلَاso notيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are able (to find)سَبِيلًاa way9
تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىٓWhoإِنifشَآءَHe willedجَعَلَ(could have) madeلَكَfor youخَيْرًاbetterمِّنthanذَٰلِكَthat جَنَّٰتٍgardens تَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversوَيَجْعَلand He (could) makeلَّكَfor youقُصُورًۢاpalaces10
بَلْNayكَذَّبُوا۟they denyبِٱلسَّاعَةِthe Hourوَأَعْتَدْنَاand We have preparedلِمَنfor (those) whoكَذَّبَdenyبِٱلسَّاعَةِthe Hourسَعِيرًاa Blazing Fire11
إِذَاWhenرَأَتْهُمit sees themمِّنfromمَّكَانٍۢa placeبَعِيدٍfarسَمِعُوا۟they will hearلَهَاitsتَغَيُّظًاragingوَزَفِيرًاand roaring12
وَإِذَآAnd whenأُلْقُوا۟they are thrownمِنْهَاthereofمَكَانًا(in) a placeضَيِّقًاnarrowمُّقَرَّنِينَbound in chainsدَعَوْا۟they will callهُنَالِكَthereثُبُورًا(for) destruction13
لَّا(Do) notتَدْعُوا۟callٱلْيَوْمَthis dayثُبُورًا(for) destructionوَٰحِدًاoneوَٱدْعُوا۟but callثُبُورًا(for) destructionsكَثِيرًاmany14
قُلْSayأَذَٰلِكَIs thatخَيْرٌbetterأَمْorجَنَّةُGardenٱلْخُلْدِ(of) Eternityٱلَّتِىwhichوُعِدَis promisedٱلْمُتَّقُونَ(to) the righteousكَانَتْIt will beلَهُمْfor themجَزَآءًa rewardوَمَصِيرًاand destination15
لَّهُمْFor themفِيهَاthereinمَا(is) whateverيَشَآءُونَthey wishخَٰلِدِينَthey will abide foreverكَانَIt isعَلَىٰonرَبِّكَyour Lordوَعْدًاa promiseمَّسْـُٔولًاrequested16
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْHe will gather themوَمَاand whatيَعْبُدُونَthey worshipمِنbesides Allahدُونِbesides Allahٱللَّهِbesides Allahفَيَقُولُand He will sayءَأَنتُمْDid youأَضْلَلْتُمْ[you] misleadعِبَادِىMy slavesهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseأَمْorهُمْtheyضَلُّوا۟went astrayٱلسَّبِيلَ(from) the way17
قَالُوا۟They sayسُبْحَٰنَكَGlory be to YouمَاNotكَانَit was properيَنۢبَغِىit was properلَنَآfor usأَنthatنَّتَّخِذَwe takeمِنbesides Youدُونِكَbesides YouمِنْanyأَوْلِيَآءَprotectorsوَلَٰكِنButمَّتَّعْتَهُمْYou gave them comfortsوَءَابَآءَهُمْand their forefathersحَتَّىٰuntilنَسُوا۟they forgotٱلذِّكْرَthe Messageوَكَانُوا۟and becameقَوْمًۢاa peopleبُورًاruined18
فَقَدْSo verilyكَذَّبُوكُمthey deny youبِمَاin whatتَقُولُونَyou sayفَمَاso notتَسْتَطِيعُونَyou are ableصَرْفًا(to) avertوَلَاand notنَصْرًا(to) helpوَمَنAnd whoeverيَظْلِمdoes wrongمِّنكُمْamong youنُذِقْهُWe will make him tasteعَذَابًاa punishmentكَبِيرًاgreat19
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentقَبْلَكَbefore youمِنَanyٱلْمُرْسَلِينَMessengersإِلَّآbutإِنَّهُمْindeed, theyلَيَأْكُلُونَ[surely] ateٱلطَّعَامَfoodوَيَمْشُونَand walkedفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِthe marketsوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeبَعْضَكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍfor othersفِتْنَةًa trialأَتَصْبِرُونَwill you have patienceوَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordبَصِيرًاAll-Seer20
