وَلَوْAnd (even) ifأَنَّنَا[that] We (had)نَزَّلْنَآ[We] sent downإِلَيْهِمُto themٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsوَكَلَّمَهُمُand spoken to themٱلْمَوْتَىٰthe deadوَحَشَرْنَاand We gatheredعَلَيْهِمْbefore themكُلَّeveryشَىْءٍthingقُبُلًاface to faceمَّاnotكَانُوا۟they wereلِيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟to believeإِلَّآunlessأَن[that]يَشَآءَwillsٱللَّهُAllahوَلَٰكِنَّButأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themيَجْهَلُونَ(are) ignorant111
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusجَعَلْنَاWe madeلِكُلِّfor everyنَبِىٍّProphetعَدُوًّاan enemy شَيَٰطِينَdevilsٱلْإِنسِ(from) the mankindوَٱلْجِنِّand the jinnيُوحِىinspiringبَعْضُهُمْsome of themإِلَىٰtoبَعْضٍothersزُخْرُفَ(with) decorativeٱلْقَوْلِ[the] speechغُرُورًا(in) deceptionوَلَوْBut ifشَآءَ(had) willedرَبُّكَyour Lordمَاnotفَعَلُوهُthey (would) have done itفَذَرْهُمْso leave themوَمَاand whatيَفْتَرُونَthey invent112
وَلِتَصْغَىٰٓAnd so that inclineإِلَيْهِto itأَفْـِٔدَةُheartsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterوَلِيَرْضَوْهُand so that they may be pleased with itوَلِيَقْتَرِفُوا۟and so that they may commitمَاwhatهُمtheyمُّقْتَرِفُونَ(are) committing113
أَفَغَيْرَThen is (it) other thanٱللَّهِAllahأَبْتَغِىI seekحَكَمًا(as) judgeوَهُوَwhile Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَنزَلَhas revealedإِلَيْكُمُto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookمُفَصَّلًاexplained in detailوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those (to) whomءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُWe gave themٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookيَعْلَمُونَthey knowأَنَّهُۥthat itمُنَزَّلٌ(is) sent downمِّنfromرَّبِّكَyour Lordبِٱلْحَقِّin truthفَلَاso (do) notتَكُونَنَّbeمِنَamongٱلْمُمْتَرِينَthe ones who doubt114
وَتَمَّتْAnd (has been) fulfilledكَلِمَتُ(the) wordرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordصِدْقًا(in) truthوَعَدْلًاand justiceلَّاNoمُبَدِّلَone can changeلِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦHis wordsوَهُوَand Heٱلسَّمِيعُ(is) the All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower115
وَإِنAnd ifتُطِعْyou obeyأَكْثَرَmostمَنofفِى(those) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthيُضِلُّوكَthey will mislead youعَنfromسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) AllahإِنNotيَتَّبِعُونَthey followإِلَّاexceptٱلظَّنَّ[the] assumptionوَإِنْand notهُمْthey (do)إِلَّاexceptيَخْرُصُونَguess116
إِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour LordهُوَHeأَعْلَمُknows bestمَنwhoيَضِلُّstraysعَنfromسَبِيلِهِۦHis wayوَهُوَand Heأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingبِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَof the guided-ones117
فَكُلُوا۟So eatمِمَّاof whatذُكِرَ(is) mentionedٱسْمُ(the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْهِon itإِنifكُنتُمyou areبِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦin His Verses مُؤْمِنِينَbelievers118
وَمَاAnd whatلَكُمْfor youأَلَّاthat notتَأْكُلُوا۟you eatمِمَّاof whatذُكِرَhas been mentionedٱسْمُ(the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْهِon itوَقَدْwhen indeedفَصَّلَHe (has) explained in detailلَكُمto youمَّاwhatحَرَّمَHe (has) forbiddenعَلَيْكُمْto youإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatٱضْطُرِرْتُمْyou are compelledإِلَيْهِto itوَإِنَّAnd indeedكَثِيرًاmanyلَّيُضِلُّونَsurely lead astrayبِأَهْوَآئِهِمby their (vain) desiresبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeإِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour LordهُوَHeأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingبِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَof the transgressors119
وَذَرُوا۟Forsakeظَٰهِرَopenٱلْإِثْمِ[the] sinsوَبَاطِنَهُۥٓand the secretإِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَكْسِبُونَearnٱلْإِثْمَ[the] sinسَيُجْزَوْنَthey will be recompensedبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَقْتَرِفُونَcommit120
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَأْكُلُوا۟eatمِمَّاof thatلَمْnotيُذْكَرِhas been mentionedٱسْمُ(the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْهِon itوَإِنَّهُۥand indeed, it (is)لَفِسْقٌgrave disobedienceوَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلشَّيَٰطِينَthe devilsلَيُوحُونَinspireإِلَىٰٓtoأَوْلِيَآئِهِمْtheir friendsلِيُجَٰدِلُوكُمْso that they dispute with youوَإِنْand ifأَطَعْتُمُوهُمْyou obey themإِنَّكُمْindeed, youلَمُشْرِكُونَ(would) be the polytheists121
أَوَمَنIs (one) whoكَانَwasمَيْتًاdeadفَأَحْيَيْنَٰهُand We gave him lifeوَجَعَلْنَاand We madeلَهُۥfor himنُورًاlightيَمْشِىhe walksبِهِۦwherebyفِىamongٱلنَّاسِthe peopleكَمَنlike (one) whoمَّثَلُهُۥ[similar to him]فِى(is) inٱلظُّلُمَٰتِthe darknessesلَيْسَnotبِخَارِجٍhe comes outمِّنْهَاof itكَذَٰلِكَThusزُيِّنَis made fair-seemingلِلْكَٰفِرِينَto the disbelieversمَاwhatكَانُوا۟they wereيَعْمَلُونَdoing122
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusجَعَلْنَاWe placedفِىinكُلِّeveryقَرْيَةٍcityأَكَٰبِرَgreatestمُجْرِمِيهَا(of) its criminalsلِيَمْكُرُوا۟so that they plotفِيهَاthereinوَمَاAnd notيَمْكُرُونَthey plotإِلَّاexceptبِأَنفُسِهِمْagainst themselvesوَمَاand notيَشْعُرُونَthey perceive123
وَإِذَاAnd whenجَآءَتْهُمْcomes to themءَايَةٌa Signقَالُوا۟they sayلَنNeverنُّؤْمِنَwe will believeحَتَّىٰuntilنُؤْتَىٰwe are givenمِثْلَlikeمَآwhatأُوتِىَwas givenرُسُلُ(to the) Messengersٱللَّهِ(of) AllahٱللَّهُAllahأَعْلَمُknows bestحَيْثُwhereيَجْعَلُHe placesرِسَالَتَهُۥHis MessageسَيُصِيبُWill afflictٱلَّذِينَthose whoأَجْرَمُوا۟committed crimesصَغَارٌa humiliationعِندَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَعَذَابٌand a punishmentشَدِيدٌۢsevereبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَمْكُرُونَplot124
فَمَنSo whoeverيُرِدِwantsٱللَّهُAllahأَنthatيَهْدِيَهُۥHe guides him يَشْرَحْHe expandsصَدْرَهُۥhis breastلِلْإِسْلَٰمِto Islamوَمَنand whoeverيُرِدْHe wantsأَنthatيُضِلَّهُۥHe lets him go astrayيَجْعَلْHe makesصَدْرَهُۥhis breastضَيِّقًاtightحَرَجًاand constrictedكَأَنَّمَاas thoughيَصَّعَّدُhe (were) climbingفِىintoٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyكَذَٰلِكَThusيَجْعَلُplacesٱللَّهُAllahٱلرِّجْسَthe filthعَلَىonٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve125
وَهَٰذَاAnd thisصِرَٰطُ(is the) wayرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord مُسْتَقِيمًاstraightقَدْCertainlyفَصَّلْنَاWe have detailedٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Versesلِقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَذَّكَّرُونَwho take heed126
لَهُمْFor themدَارُ(will be) homeٱلسَّلَٰمِ(of) [the] peaceعِندَwithرَبِّهِمْtheir LordوَهُوَAnd Heوَلِيُّهُم(will be) their protecting friendبِمَاbecauseكَانُوا۟(of what) they used toيَعْمَلُونَdo127
وَيَوْمَAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْHe will gather themجَمِيعًاallيَٰمَعْشَرَ(and will say), "O assemblyٱلْجِنِّ(of) [the] jinnقَدِCertainlyٱسْتَكْثَرْتُمyou have (misled) manyمِّنَofٱلْإِنسِthe mankindوَقَالَAnd will sayأَوْلِيَآؤُهُمtheir friendsمِّنَamongٱلْإِنسِthe menرَبَّنَاOur Lordٱسْتَمْتَعَprofitedبَعْضُنَاsome of usبِبَعْضٍby othersوَبَلَغْنَآand we have reachedأَجَلَنَاour termٱلَّذِىٓwhichأَجَّلْتَYou appointedلَنَاfor usقَالَHe will sayٱلنَّارُThe Fireمَثْوَىٰكُمْ(is) your abodeخَٰلِدِينَwill abide foreverفِيهَآin itإِلَّاexceptمَا(for) whatشَآءَwillsٱللَّهُAllahإِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour Lordحَكِيمٌ(is) All-WiseعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing128
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusنُوَلِّىWe make friendsبَعْضَsome (of)ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersبَعْضًۢا(to) othersبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَكْسِبُونَearn129
يَٰمَعْشَرَO assemblyٱلْجِنِّ(of) [the] jinnوَٱلْإِنسِand [the] menأَلَمْDid (there) notيَأْتِكُمْcome to youرُسُلٌMessengersمِّنكُمْfrom (among) youيَقُصُّونَrelatingعَلَيْكُمْto youءَايَٰتِىMy Versesوَيُنذِرُونَكُمْand warning youلِقَآءَ(of the) meetingيَوْمِكُمْ(of) your dayهَٰذَاthisقَالُوا۟They will sayشَهِدْنَاWe bear witnessعَلَىٰٓagainstأَنفُسِنَاourselvesوَغَرَّتْهُمُAnd deluded themٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَشَهِدُوا۟and they will bear witnessعَلَىٰٓagainstأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesأَنَّهُمْthat theyكَانُوا۟wereكَٰفِرِينَdisbelievers130
ذَٰلِكَThat (is because)أَن[that]لَّمْnotيَكُنisرَّبُّكَyour Lordمُهْلِكَone who destroysٱلْقُرَىٰthe citiesبِظُلْمٍfor (their) wrongdoingوَأَهْلُهَاwhile their peopleغَٰفِلُونَ(are) unaware131
وَلِكُلٍّAnd for allدَرَجَٰتٌ(will be) degreesمِّمَّاfor whatعَمِلُوا۟they didوَمَاAnd notرَبُّكَ(is) your Lordبِغَٰفِلٍunawareعَمَّاabout whatيَعْمَلُونَthey do132
وَرَبُّكَAnd your Lordٱلْغَنِىُّ(is) the Self-Sufficientذُو(the) Possessorٱلرَّحْمَةِ(of) mercyإِنIfيَشَأْHe willsيُذْهِبْكُمْHe can take you awayوَيَسْتَخْلِفْand grant successionمِنۢfromبَعْدِكُمafter youمَّا(to) whomيَشَآءُHe willsكَمَآasأَنشَأَكُمHe raised youمِّنfromذُرِّيَّةِthe descendantsقَوْمٍ(of) peopleءَاخَرِينَother133
إِنَّIndeedمَاwhatتُوعَدُونَyou are promisedلَءَاتٍ(is) sure to comeوَمَآAnd notأَنتُم(can) youبِمُعْجِزِينَescape (it)134
قُلْSayيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْمَلُوا۟Workعَلَىٰonمَكَانَتِكُمْyour positionإِنِّىIndeed, I amعَامِلٌa workerفَسَوْفَAnd soonتَعْلَمُونَyou will knowمَنwhoتَكُونُwill haveلَهُۥfor himselfعَٰقِبَةُ(in) the endٱلدَّارِ(a good) homeإِنَّهُۥIndeed [he]لَا(will) notيُفْلِحُsucceedٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoers135
وَجَعَلُوا۟And they assignلِلَّهِto Allahمِمَّاout of whatذَرَأَHe producedمِنَofٱلْحَرْثِthe cropsوَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِand the cattleنَصِيبًاa shareفَقَالُوا۟and they sayهَٰذَاThisلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahبِزَعْمِهِمْby their claimوَهَٰذَاAnd thisلِشُرَكَآئِنَا(is) for our partnersفَمَاBut whatكَانَisلِشُرَكَآئِهِمْfor their partnersفَلَا(does) notيَصِلُreachإِلَى[to]ٱللَّهِAllahوَمَاwhile whatكَانَisلِلَّهِfor Allahفَهُوَthen itيَصِلُreachesإِلَىٰ[to]شُرَكَآئِهِمْtheir partnersسَآءَEvilمَا(is) whatيَحْكُمُونَthey judge136
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseزَيَّنَmade pleasingلِكَثِيرٍto manyمِّنَofٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists قَتْلَ(the) killingأَوْلَٰدِهِمْ(of) their children شُرَكَآؤُهُمْtheir partners لِيُرْدُوهُمْso that they may ruin themوَلِيَلْبِسُوا۟and that they make confusingعَلَيْهِمْto themدِينَهُمْtheir religionوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَ(had) willedٱللَّهُAllahمَاnotفَعَلُوهُ(would) they have done soفَذَرْهُمْSo leave themوَمَاand whatيَفْتَرُونَthey invent137
وَقَالُوا۟And they sayهَٰذِهِۦٓTheseأَنْعَٰمٌ(are) cattleوَحَرْثٌand cropsحِجْرٌforbiddenلَّاno (one)يَطْعَمُهَآcan eat themإِلَّاexceptمَنwhomنَّشَآءُwe willبِزَعْمِهِمْby their claimوَأَنْعَٰمٌAnd cattleحُرِّمَتْforbiddenظُهُورُهَا(are) their backsوَأَنْعَٰمٌand cattleلَّاnotيَذْكُرُونَthey mentionٱسْمَ(the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْهَاon itٱفْتِرَآءً(as) an inventionعَلَيْهِagainst HimسَيَجْزِيهِمHe will recompense themبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَفْتَرُونَinvent138
وَقَالُوا۟And they sayمَاWhatفِى(is) inبُطُونِ(the) wombsهَٰذِهِ(of) theseٱلْأَنْعَٰمِcattleخَالِصَةٌ(is) exclusivelyلِّذُكُورِنَاfor our malesوَمُحَرَّمٌand forbiddenعَلَىٰٓonأَزْوَٰجِنَاour spousesوَإِنBut ifيَكُنisمَّيْتَةً(born) deadفَهُمْthen they (all)فِيهِin itشُرَكَآءُ(are) partnersسَيَجْزِيهِمْHe will recompense themوَصْفَهُمْ(for) their attributionإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heحَكِيمٌ(is) All-WiseعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing139
قَدْCertainlyخَسِرَ(are) lostٱلَّذِينَthose whoقَتَلُوٓا۟killedأَوْلَٰدَهُمْtheir childrenسَفَهًۢا(in) foolishnessبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeوَحَرَّمُوا۟and forbidمَاwhatرَزَقَهُمُ(bas been) provided (to) themٱللَّهُ(by) Allah ٱفْتِرَآءًinventing (lies)عَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahقَدْCertainlyضَلُّوا۟they have gone astrayوَمَاand notكَانُوا۟they areمُهْتَدِينَguided-ones140
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَنشَأَproducedجَنَّٰتٍgardensمَّعْرُوشَٰتٍtrellisedوَغَيْرَand other thanمَعْرُوشَٰتٍtrellisedوَٱلنَّخْلَand the date-palmوَٱلزَّرْعَand the cropsمُخْتَلِفًاdiverseأُكُلُهُۥ(are) its tasteوَٱلزَّيْتُونَand the olivesوَٱلرُّمَّانَand the pomegranatesمُتَشَٰبِهًاsimilarوَغَيْرَand other thanمُتَشَٰبِهٍsimilarكُلُوا۟Eatمِنofثَمَرِهِۦٓits fruitإِذَآwhenأَثْمَرَit bears fruitوَءَاتُوا۟and giveحَقَّهُۥits dueيَوْمَ(on the) dayحَصَادِهِۦ(of) its harvestوَلَاAnd (do) notتُسْرِفُوٓا۟(be) extravagantإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveٱلْمُسْرِفِينَthe ones who are extravagant141
وَمِنَAnd ofٱلْأَنْعَٰمِthe cattleحَمُولَةً(are some for) burdenوَفَرْشًاand (some for) meatكُلُوا۟Eatمِمَّاof whatرَزَقَكُمُ(has been) provided (to) youٱللَّهُ(by) Allahوَلَاand (do) notتَتَّبِعُوا۟followخُطُوَٰتِ(the) footstepsٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ(of) ShaitaanإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heلَكُمْ(is) to youعَدُوٌّan enemyمُّبِينٌopen142
ثَمَٰنِيَةَEightأَزْوَٰجٍpairs مِّنَofٱلضَّأْنِthe sheepٱثْنَيْنِtwoوَمِنَand ofٱلْمَعْزِthe goatsٱثْنَيْنِtwoقُلْSayءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ(Are) the two malesحَرَّمَHe has forbiddenأَمِorٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِthe two femalesأَمَّاor whatٱشْتَمَلَتْcontainsعَلَيْهِ[in it]أَرْحَامُ(the) wombsٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ(of) the two femalesنَبِّـُٔونِىInform meبِعِلْمٍwith knowledgeإِنifكُنتُمْyou areصَٰدِقِينَtruthful143
وَمِنَAnd ofٱلْإِبِلِthe camelsٱثْنَيْنِtwoوَمِنَand ofٱلْبَقَرِthe cowsٱثْنَيْنِtwoقُلْSayءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ(Is it) the two malesحَرَّمَHe (has) forbiddenأَمِorٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِthe two femalesأَمَّاor whatٱشْتَمَلَتْcontainsعَلَيْهِ[in it]أَرْحَامُ(the) wombsٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ(of) the two femalesأَمْOrكُنتُمْwere youشُهَدَآءَwitnessesإِذْwhenوَصَّىٰكُمُenjoined youٱللَّهُAllahبِهَٰذَاwith thisفَمَنْThen whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنِthan (one) whoٱفْتَرَىٰinventsعَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieلِّيُضِلَّto misleadٱلنَّاسَthe peopleبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىguideٱلْقَوْمَthe peopleٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoing144
قُلSayلَّآNotأَجِدُ(do) I findفِىinمَآwhatأُوحِىَhas been revealedإِلَىَّto meمُحَرَّمًا(anything) forbiddenعَلَىٰtoطَاعِمٍan eaterيَطْعَمُهُۥٓwho eats itإِلَّآexceptأَنthatيَكُونَit beمَيْتَةًdeadأَوْorدَمًاbloodمَّسْفُوحًاpoured forthأَوْorلَحْمَ(the) fleshخِنزِيرٍ(of) swine فَإِنَّهُۥfor indeed, itرِجْسٌ(is) filth أَوْorفِسْقًا(it be) disobedienceأُهِلَّ[is] dedicatedلِغَيْرِto other thanٱللَّهِAllahبِهِۦ[on it]فَمَنِBut whoeverٱضْطُرَّ(is) compelledغَيْرَnotبَاغٍdesiringوَلَاand notعَادٍtransgressingفَإِنَّthen indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful145
وَعَلَىAnd toٱلَّذِينَthose whoهَادُوا۟are JewsحَرَّمْنَاWe forbadeكُلَّeveryذِى(animal) withظُفُرٍclawsوَمِنَand ofٱلْبَقَرِthe cowsوَٱلْغَنَمِand the sheepحَرَّمْنَاWe forbadeعَلَيْهِمْto themشُحُومَهُمَآtheir fatإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatحَمَلَتْcarriedظُهُورُهُمَآtheir backsأَوِorٱلْحَوَايَآthe entrailsأَوْorمَاwhatٱخْتَلَطَ(is) joinedبِعَظْمٍwith the boneذَٰلِكَThatجَزَيْنَٰهُم(is) their recompenseبِبَغْيِهِمْfor their rebellionوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Weلَصَٰدِقُونَ[surely] are truthful146
فَإِنBut ifكَذَّبُوكَthey deny youفَقُلthen sayرَّبُّكُمْYour Lordذُو(is the) Possessorرَحْمَةٍ(of) MercyوَٰسِعَةٍVastوَلَاbut notيُرَدُّwill be turned backبَأْسُهُۥHis wrathعَنِfromٱلْقَوْمِthe peopleٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(who are) criminals147
سَيَقُولُWill sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoأَشْرَكُوا۟associate partners (with Allah)لَوْIfشَآءَHad willedٱللَّهُAllahمَآnotأَشْرَكْنَاwe (would) have associated partners (with Allah)وَلَآand notءَابَآؤُنَاour forefathersوَلَاand notحَرَّمْنَاwe (would) have forbiddenمِن[of]شَىْءٍanythingكَذَٰلِكَLikewiseكَذَّبَdeniedٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were from)قَبْلِهِمْbefore themحَتَّىٰuntilذَاقُوا۟they tastedبَأْسَنَاOur wrathقُلْSayهَلْIsعِندَكُمwith youمِّنْ[of]عِلْمٍany knowledgeفَتُخْرِجُوهُthen produce itلَنَآfor usإِنNotتَتَّبِعُونَyou followإِلَّاexceptٱلظَّنَّthe assumptionوَإِنْand notأَنتُمْyou (do)إِلَّاbutتَخْرُصُونَguess148
قُلْSayفَلِلَّهِWith Allahٱلْحُجَّةُ(is) the argument ٱلْبَٰلِغَةُthe conclusiveفَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَHe (had) willedلَهَدَىٰكُمْsurely He (would) have guided youأَجْمَعِينَall149
قُلْSayهَلُمَّBring forwardشُهَدَآءَكُمُyour witnessesٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَشْهَدُونَtestifyأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahحَرَّمَprohibitedهَٰذَاthisفَإِنThen ifشَهِدُوا۟they testifyفَلَاthen (do) notتَشْهَدْtestifyمَعَهُمْwith themوَلَاAnd (do) notتَتَّبِعْfollowأَهْوَآءَ(the) desiresٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَذَّبُوا۟deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Signsوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafterوَهُمwhile theyبِرَبِّهِمْwith their Lordيَعْدِلُونَset up equals150
قُلْSayتَعَالَوْا۟ComeأَتْلُI will reciteمَاwhatحَرَّمَhas prohibitedرَبُّكُمْyour Lordعَلَيْكُمْto youأَلَّاThat (do) notتُشْرِكُوا۟associateبِهِۦwith Himشَيْـًٔاanythingوَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِand with the parentsإِحْسَٰنًا(be) goodوَلَاand (do) notتَقْتُلُوٓا۟killأَوْلَٰدَكُمyour childrenمِّنْ(out) ofإِمْلَٰقٍpovertyنَّحْنُWeنَرْزُقُكُمْprovide for youوَإِيَّاهُمْand for themوَلَاAnd (do) notتَقْرَبُوا۟go nearٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ[the] immoralitiesمَاwhatظَهَرَ(is) apparentمِنْهَاof themوَمَاand whatبَطَنَ(is) concealedوَلَاAnd (do) notتَقْتُلُوا۟killٱلنَّفْسَthe soulٱلَّتِىwhichحَرَّمَhas (been) forbiddenٱللَّهُ(by) Allahإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّby (legal) rightذَٰلِكُمْThatوَصَّىٰكُم(He) has enjoined on youبِهِۦwith itلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَعْقِلُونَuse reason151
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَقْرَبُوا۟go nearمَالَwealthٱلْيَتِيمِ(of) the orphansإِلَّاexceptبِٱلَّتِىwith thatهِىَwhichأَحْسَنُ(is) bestحَتَّىٰuntilيَبْلُغَhe reachesأَشُدَّهُۥhis maturityوَأَوْفُوا۟And give fullٱلْكَيْلَ[the] measureوَٱلْمِيزَانَand the weightبِٱلْقِسْطِwith justiceلَاNotنُكَلِّفُWe burdenنَفْسًاany soulإِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَا(to) its capacityوَإِذَاAnd whenقُلْتُمْyou speakفَٱعْدِلُوا۟then be justوَلَوْeven ifكَانَhe isذَا(one of)قُرْبَىٰa near relativeوَبِعَهْدِAnd (the) Covenantٱللَّهِ(of) Allahأَوْفُوا۟fulfilذَٰلِكُمْThatوَصَّىٰكُم(He) has enjoined on youبِهِۦwith itلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَremember152
وَأَنَّAnd thatهَٰذَاthisصِرَٰطِى(is) My pathمُسْتَقِيمًاstraightفَٱتَّبِعُوهُso follow itوَلَاAnd (do) notتَتَّبِعُوا۟followٱلسُّبُلَthe (other) pathsفَتَفَرَّقَthen they will separateبِكُمْyouعَنfromسَبِيلِهِۦHis pathذَٰلِكُمْThatوَصَّىٰكُم(He) has enjoined on youبِهِۦ[with it]لَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَتَّقُونَbecome righteous153
ثُمَّMoreoverءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookتَمَامًاcompleting (Our Favor)عَلَىonٱلَّذِىٓthe one whoأَحْسَنَdid goodوَتَفْصِيلًاand an explanationلِّكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingوَهُدًىand a guidanceوَرَحْمَةًand mercyلَّعَلَّهُمso that they mayبِلِقَآءِin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْ(with) their Lordيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve154
وَهَٰذَاAnd thisكِتَٰبٌ(is) a BookأَنزَلْنَٰهُWe have revealed it مُبَارَكٌblessedفَٱتَّبِعُوهُso follow itوَٱتَّقُوا۟and fear (Allah)لَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy155
أَنLestتَقُولُوٓا۟you sayإِنَّمَآOnlyأُنزِلَwas revealedٱلْكِتَٰبُthe Bookعَلَىٰonطَآئِفَتَيْنِthe two groupsمِنfromقَبْلِنَاbefore usوَإِنand indeedكُنَّاwe wereعَنaboutدِرَاسَتِهِمْtheir studyلَغَٰفِلِينَcertainly unaware156
أَوْOrتَقُولُوا۟you sayلَوْIfأَنَّآ[that]أُنزِلَwas revealedعَلَيْنَاto usٱلْكِتَٰبُthe Bookلَكُنَّآsurely we (would) have beenأَهْدَىٰbetter guidedمِنْهُمْthan themفَقَدْSo verilyجَآءَكُمhas come to youبَيِّنَةٌclear proofsمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordوَهُدًىand a Guidanceوَرَحْمَةٌand a MercyفَمَنْThen whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنthan (he) whoكَذَّبَdeniesبِـَٔايَٰتِ[with] (the) Versesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَصَدَفَand turns awayعَنْهَاfrom themسَنَجْزِىWe will recompenseٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَصْدِفُونَturn awayعَنْfromءَايَٰتِنَاOur Signsسُوٓءَ(with) an evilٱلْعَذَابِpunishmentبِمَاbecauseكَانُوا۟they used toيَصْدِفُونَturn away157
هَلْAreيَنظُرُونَthey waitingإِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَأْتِيَهُمُcomes to themٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsأَوْorيَأْتِىَcomesرَبُّكَyour Lordأَوْorيَأْتِىَcomesبَعْضُsome (of)ءَايَٰتِ(the) Signsرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordيَوْمَ(The) Dayيَأْتِى(when) comesبَعْضُsome (of)ءَايَٰتِ(the) Signsرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordلَاnotيَنفَعُwill benefitنَفْسًاa soulإِيمَٰنُهَاits faithلَمْnotتَكُنْ(if) it hadءَامَنَتْbelievedمِنfromقَبْلُbeforeأَوْorكَسَبَتْearnedفِىٓthroughإِيمَٰنِهَاits faithخَيْرًاany goodقُلِSayٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟WaitإِنَّاIndeed, weمُنتَظِرُونَ(are) those who wait158
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoفَرَّقُوا۟divideدِينَهُمْtheir religionوَكَانُوا۟and becomeشِيَعًاsectsلَّسْتَyou are notمِنْهُمْwith themفِىinشَىْءٍanythingإِنَّمَآOnlyأَمْرُهُمْtheir affairإِلَى(is) withٱللَّهِAllahثُمَّthenيُنَبِّئُهُمHe will inform themبِمَاof whatكَانُوا۟they used toيَفْعَلُونَdo159
مَنWhoeverجَآءَcameبِٱلْحَسَنَةِwith a good deedفَلَهُۥthen for himعَشْرُ(is) ten (times)أَمْثَالِهَاthe like of itوَمَنAnd whoeverجَآءَcameبِٱلسَّيِّئَةِwith an evil deedفَلَاthen notيُجْزَىٰٓhe will be recompensedإِلَّاexceptمِثْلَهَاthe like of itوَهُمْand theyلَاwill notيُظْلَمُونَ(be) wronged160
قُلْSayإِنَّنِىIndeed (as for) meهَدَىٰنِىhas guided meرَبِّىٓmy Lordإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطٍa pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍstraight دِينًاa religionقِيَمًاrightمِّلَّةَreligionإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahim حَنِيفًاa true monotheistوَمَاAnd notكَانَhe wasمِنَfromٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists161
قُلْSayإِنَّIndeedصَلَاتِىmy prayerوَنُسُكِىand my rites of sacrificeوَمَحْيَاىَand my livingوَمَمَاتِىand my dyingلِلَّهِ(are) for AllahرَبِّLordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds162
لَاNoشَرِيكَpartnersلَهُۥfor Himوَبِذَٰلِكَand with thatأُمِرْتُI have been commandedوَأَنَاAnd I amأَوَّلُ(the) firstٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ(of) the ones who surrender (to Him)163
قُلْSayأَغَيْرَIs (it) other thanٱللَّهِAllahأَبْغِىI (should) seekرَبًّا(as) a Lordوَهُوَwhile Heرَبُّ(is) the Lordكُلِّ(of) everyشَىْءٍthingوَلَاAnd notتَكْسِبُearnsكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulإِلَّاexceptعَلَيْهَاagainst itselfوَلَاand notتَزِرُbearsوَازِرَةٌany bearer of burdenوِزْرَburdenأُخْرَىٰ(of) anotherثُمَّThenإِلَىٰtoرَبِّكُمyour Lordمَّرْجِعُكُمْ(is) your returnفَيُنَبِّئُكُمthen He will inform youبِمَاabout whatكُنتُمْyou wereفِيهِconcerning itتَخْتَلِفُونَdiffering164
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَكُمْ(has) made youخَلَٰٓئِفَsuccessorsٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earthوَرَفَعَand raisedبَعْضَكُمْsome of youفَوْقَaboveبَعْضٍothersدَرَجَٰتٍ(in) ranksلِّيَبْلُوَكُمْso that He may test youفِىinمَآwhatءَاتَىٰكُمْHe has given youإِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour Lordسَرِيعُ(is) swiftٱلْعِقَابِ(in) the punishmentوَإِنَّهُۥand indeed, He (is)لَغَفُورٌ[certainly], Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۢMost Merciful165

وَكَمAnd how manyمِّنofقَرْيَةٍa cityأَهْلَكْنَٰهَاWe destroyed itفَجَآءَهَاand came to itبَأْسُنَاOur punishmentبَيَٰتًا(at) nightأَوْorهُمْ(while) theyقَآئِلُونَwere sleeping at noon4
فَمَاThen notكَانَwasدَعْوَىٰهُمْtheir pleaإِذْwhenجَآءَهُمcame to themبَأْسُنَآOur punishmentإِلَّآexceptأَنthatقَالُوٓا۟they saidإِنَّاIndeed, weكُنَّاwereظَٰلِمِينَwrongdoers5
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّThen surely We will questionٱلَّذِينَthose (to) whomأُرْسِلَwere sentإِلَيْهِمْto them (Messengers)وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّand surely We will questionٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers6
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّThen surely We will narrateعَلَيْهِمto themبِعِلْمٍwith knowledgeوَمَاand notكُنَّاwere Weغَآئِبِينَabsent7
وَٱلْوَزْنُAnd the weighingيَوْمَئِذٍthat dayٱلْحَقُّ(will be) the truthفَمَنSo whose ثَقُلَتْ(will be) heavyمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ(will be) the successful ones8
وَمَنْAnd (for) thoseخَفَّتْ(will be) lightمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَso thoseٱلَّذِينَ(will be) the ones whoخَسِرُوٓا۟lostأَنفُسَهُمthemselvesبِمَاbecauseكَانُوا۟they wereبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاto Our Versesيَظْلِمُونَ(doing) injustice9
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyمَكَّنَّٰكُمْWe established youفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَجَعَلْنَاand We madeلَكُمْfor youفِيهَاin itمَعَٰيِشَlivelihoodقَلِيلًاLittleمَّا(is) whatتَشْكُرُونَyou (are) grateful10
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyخَلَقْنَٰكُمْWe created youثُمَّthenصَوَّرْنَٰكُمْWe fashioned youثُمَّThenقُلْنَاWe saidلِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِto the Angelsٱسْجُدُوا۟Prostrateلِءَادَمَto Adamفَسَجَدُوٓا۟So they prostratedإِلَّآexceptإِبْلِيسَIblisلَمْNotيَكُنhe wasمِّنَofٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrated11
قَالَ(Allah) saidمَاWhatمَنَعَكَprevented youأَلَّاthat notتَسْجُدَyou prostrateإِذْwhenأَمَرْتُكَI commanded youقَالَ(Shaitaan) saidأَنَاI amخَيْرٌbetterمِّنْهُthan himخَلَقْتَنِىYou created meمِنfromنَّارٍfireوَخَلَقْتَهُۥand You created himمِنfromطِينٍclay12
قَالَ(Allah) saidفَٱهْبِطْThen go downمِنْهَاfrom itفَمَاfor notيَكُونُit isلَكَfor youأَنthatتَتَكَبَّرَyou be arrogantفِيهَاin itفَٱخْرُجْSo get outإِنَّكَindeed, youمِنَ(are) ofٱلصَّٰغِرِينَthe disgraced ones13
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidأَنظِرْنِىٓGive me respiteإِلَىٰtillيَوْمِ(the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَthey are raised up14
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidفَبِمَآBecauseأَغْوَيْتَنِىYou have sent me astrayلَأَقْعُدَنَّsurely I will sitلَهُمْfor themصِرَٰطَكَ(on) Your pathٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَthe straight16
ثُمَّThenلَءَاتِيَنَّهُمsurely, I will come to themمِّنۢfromبَيْنِbeforeأَيْدِيهِمْthemوَمِنْand fromخَلْفِهِمْbehind themوَعَنْand fromأَيْمَٰنِهِمْtheir rightوَعَنand fromشَمَآئِلِهِمْtheir leftوَلَاand notتَجِدُYou (will) findأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themشَٰكِرِينَgrateful17
قَالَ(Allah) saidٱخْرُجْGet outمِنْهَاof itمَذْءُومًاdisgracedمَّدْحُورًاand expelledلَّمَنCertainly, whoeverتَبِعَكَfollows youمِنْهُمْamong themلَأَمْلَأَنَّsurely, I will fillجَهَنَّمَHellمِنكُمْwith youأَجْمَعِينَall18
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُAnd O AdamٱسْكُنْDwellأَنتَyouوَزَوْجُكَand your wifeٱلْجَنَّةَ(in) the Gardenفَكُلَاand you both eatمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereverشِئْتُمَاyou both wishوَلَاbut (do) notتَقْرَبَاapproach [both of you]هَٰذِهِthisٱلشَّجَرَةَ[the] treeفَتَكُونَاlest you both beمِنَamongٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers19
فَوَسْوَسَThen whisperedلَهُمَاto both of themٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanلِيُبْدِىَto make apparentلَهُمَاto both of themمَاwhatوُۥرِىَwas concealedعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themمِنofسَوْءَٰتِهِمَاtheir shameوَقَالَAnd he saidمَا(Did) notنَهَىٰكُمَاforbid you bothرَبُّكُمَاyour Lordعَنْfromهَٰذِهِthisٱلشَّجَرَةِ[the] treeإِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَكُونَاyou two becomeمَلَكَيْنِAngelsأَوْorتَكُونَاyou two becomeمِنَofٱلْخَٰلِدِينَthe immortals20
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآAnd he swore (to) both of themإِنِّىIndeed, I amلَكُمَاto both of youلَمِنَamongٱلنَّٰصِحِينَthe sincere advisors21
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَاSo he made both of them fallبِغُرُورٍby deceptionفَلَمَّاThen whenذَاقَاthey both tastedٱلشَّجَرَةَthe treeبَدَتْbecame apparentلَهُمَاto both of themسَوْءَٰتُهُمَاtheir shameوَطَفِقَاand they beganيَخْصِفَانِ(to) fastenعَلَيْهِمَاover themselvesمِنfromوَرَقِ(the) leavesٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) the GardenوَنَادَىٰهُمَاAnd called them bothرَبُّهُمَآtheir LordأَلَمْDid notأَنْهَكُمَاI forbid you bothعَنfromتِلْكُمَاthisٱلشَّجَرَةِ[the] treeوَأَقُلand [I] sayلَّكُمَآto both of youإِنَّthatٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ[the] Shaitaanلَكُمَاto both of youعَدُوٌّ(is) an enemyمُّبِينٌopen22
قَالَاBoth of them saidرَبَّنَاOur Lordظَلَمْنَآwe have wrongedأَنفُسَنَاourselvesوَإِنand ifلَّمْnotتَغْفِرْYou forgiveلَنَا[for] usوَتَرْحَمْنَاand have mercy (on) usلَنَكُونَنَّsurely, we will beمِنَamongٱلْخَٰسِرِينَthe losers23
قَالَ(Allah) saidٱهْبِطُوا۟Get downبَعْضُكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍto some othersعَدُوٌّ(as) enemyوَلَكُمْAnd for youفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمُسْتَقَرٌّ(is) a dwelling placeوَمَتَٰعٌand livelihoodإِلَىٰforحِينٍa time24
قَالَHe saidفِيهَاIn itتَحْيَوْنَyou will liveوَفِيهَاand in itتَمُوتُونَyou will dieوَمِنْهَاand from itتُخْرَجُونَyou will be brought forth25
يَٰبَنِىٓO Childrenءَادَمَ(of) AdamقَدْVerilyأَنزَلْنَاWe have sent downعَلَيْكُمْto youلِبَاسًاclothingيُوَٰرِىit coversسَوْءَٰتِكُمْyour shameوَرِيشًاand (as) an adornmentوَلِبَاسُBut the clothingٱلتَّقْوَىٰ(of) [the] righteousness ذَٰلِكَthatخَيْرٌ(is) bestذَٰلِكَThatمِنْ(is) fromءَايَٰتِ(the) Signsٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَذَّكَّرُونَremember26
يَٰبَنِىٓO Childrenءَادَمَ(of) Adamلَا(Let) notيَفْتِنَنَّكُمُtempt youٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ[the] Shaitaanكَمَآasأَخْرَجَhe drove outأَبَوَيْكُمyour parentsمِّنَfromٱلْجَنَّةِParadiseيَنزِعُstrippingعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themلِبَاسَهُمَاtheir clothingلِيُرِيَهُمَاto show both of themسَوْءَٰتِهِمَآtheir shameإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heيَرَىٰكُمْsees you هُوَheوَقَبِيلُهُۥand his tribeمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereلَاnotتَرَوْنَهُمْyou see themإِنَّاIndeedجَعَلْنَاWe have madeٱلشَّيَٰطِينَthe devilsأَوْلِيَآءَfriendsلِلَّذِينَof those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve27
وَإِذَاAnd whenفَعَلُوا۟they doفَٰحِشَةًimmoralityقَالُوا۟they sayوَجَدْنَاWe foundعَلَيْهَآon itءَابَآءَنَاour forefathersوَٱللَّهُand Allahأَمَرَنَا(has) ordered usبِهَاof itقُلْSayإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيَأْمُرُorderبِٱلْفَحْشَآءِimmoralityأَتَقُولُونَDo you sayعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know28
قُلْSayأَمَرَ(Has been) orderedرَبِّى(by) my Lordبِٱلْقِسْطِjusticeوَأَقِيمُوا۟and setوُجُوهَكُمْyour facesعِندَatكُلِّeveryمَسْجِدٍmasjidوَٱدْعُوهُand invoke Himمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sincereلَهُto Himٱلدِّينَ(in) the religionكَمَاAsبَدَأَكُمْHe originated youتَعُودُونَ(so) will you return29
فَرِيقًاA groupهَدَىٰHe guidedوَفَرِيقًاand a groupحَقَّdeserved عَلَيْهِمُ[on] theyٱلضَّلَٰلَةُthe astrayingإِنَّهُمُIndeed, theyٱتَّخَذُوا۟takeٱلشَّيَٰطِينَthe devilsأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) alliesمِنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahوَيَحْسَبُونَwhile they thinkأَنَّهُمthat theyمُّهْتَدُونَ(are the) guided-ones30
يَٰبَنِىٓO Childrenءَادَمَ(of) Adamخُذُوا۟Takeزِينَتَكُمْyour adornmentعِندَatكُلِّeveryمَسْجِدٍmasjidوَكُلُوا۟and eatوَٱشْرَبُوا۟and drinkوَلَاbut (do) notتُسْرِفُوٓا۟be extravagantإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveٱلْمُسْرِفِينَthe extravagant ones31
قُلْSayمَنْWhoحَرَّمَhas forbiddenزِينَةَ(the) adornmentٱللَّهِ(from) AllahٱلَّتِىٓwhichأَخْرَجَHe has brought forthلِعِبَادِهِۦfor His slavesوَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِand the pure thingsمِنَofٱلرِّزْقِsustenanceقُلْSayهِىَTheyلِلَّذِينَ(are) for those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeفِىduringٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldخَالِصَةًexclusively (for them)يَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) ResurrectionكَذَٰلِكَThusنُفَصِّلُWe explainٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Signsلِقَوْمٍfor (the) peopleيَعْلَمُونَwho know32
قُلْSayإِنَّمَاOnlyحَرَّمَ(had) forbiddenرَبِّىَmy Lordٱلْفَوَٰحِشَthe shameful deedsمَاwhatظَهَرَ(is) apparentمِنْهَاof itوَمَاand whatبَطَنَis concealedوَٱلْإِثْمَand the sinوَٱلْبَغْىَand the oppressionبِغَيْرِwithoutٱلْحَقِّ[the] rightوَأَنand thatتُشْرِكُوا۟you associate (others)بِٱللَّهِwith AllahمَاwhatلَمْnotيُنَزِّلْHe (has) sent downبِهِۦof itسُلْطَٰنًاany authorityوَأَنand thatتَقُولُوا۟you sayعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know33
وَلِكُلِّAnd for everyأُمَّةٍnationأَجَلٌ(is a fixed) termفَإِذَاSo whenجَآءَcomesأَجَلُهُمْtheir termلَا(they can) notيَسْتَأْخِرُونَseek to delayسَاعَةًan hourوَلَاand notيَسْتَقْدِمُونَseek to advance (it)34
يَٰبَنِىٓO Childrenءَادَمَ(of) AdamإِمَّاIfيَأْتِيَنَّكُمْcome to youرُسُلٌMessengersمِّنكُمْfrom youيَقُصُّونَrelatingعَلَيْكُمْto youءَايَٰتِىMy Versesفَمَنِthen whoeverٱتَّقَىٰfears Allahوَأَصْلَحَand reformsفَلَاthen noخَوْفٌfearعَلَيْهِمْon themوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيَحْزَنُونَwill grieve35
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whoكَذَّبُوا۟denyبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Versesوَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟and (are) arrogantعَنْهَآtowards themأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَwill abide forever36
فَمَنْThen whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنِthan (one) whoٱفْتَرَىٰinventedعَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieأَوْorكَذَّبَdeniesبِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓHis Versesأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose يَنَالُهُمْwill reach themنَصِيبُهُمtheir portionمِّنَfromٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenجَآءَتْهُمْcomes to themرُسُلُنَاOur messengers (Angels)يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ(to) take them in deathقَالُوٓا۟they sayأَيْنَWhere areمَاthose (whom)كُنتُمْyou used toتَدْعُونَinvokeمِنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahقَالُوا۟They sayضَلُّوا۟They strayedعَنَّاfrom usوَشَهِدُوا۟and they (will) testifyعَلَىٰٓagainstأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesأَنَّهُمْthat theyكَانُوا۟wereكَٰفِرِينَdisbelievers37
قَالَHe (will) sayٱدْخُلُوا۟Enterفِىٓamongأُمَمٍ(the) nationsقَدْ(who)خَلَتْpassed awayمِنfromقَبْلِكُمbefore youمِّنَofٱلْجِنِّthe jinnوَٱلْإِنسِand the menفِىinٱلنَّارِthe FireكُلَّمَاEvery timeدَخَلَتْenteredأُمَّةٌa nationلَّعَنَتْit cursedأُخْتَهَاits sister (nation)حَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenٱدَّارَكُوا۟they had overtaken one anotherفِيهَاin itجَمِيعًاallقَالَتْ(will) sayأُخْرَىٰهُمْ(the) last of themلِأُولَىٰهُمْabout the first of themرَبَّنَاOur Lordهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseأَضَلُّونَاmisled usفَـَٔاتِهِمْso give themعَذَابًاpunishmentضِعْفًاdoubleمِّنَofٱلنَّارِthe FireقَالَHe (will) sayلِكُلٍّFor eachضِعْفٌ(is) a doubleوَلَٰكِن[and] butلَّاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know38
وَقَالَتْAnd (will) sayأُولَىٰهُمْ(the) first of themلِأُخْرَىٰهُمْto (the) last of themفَمَاThen notكَانَisلَكُمْfor youعَلَيْنَاupon usمِنanyفَضْلٍsuperiorityفَذُوقُوا۟so tasteٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentبِمَاfor whatكُنتُمْyou used toتَكْسِبُونَearn39
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَذَّبُوا۟deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Versesوَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟and (were) arrogantعَنْهَاtowards themلَا(will) notتُفَتَّحُbe openedلَهُمْfor themأَبْوَٰبُ(the) doorsٱلسَّمَآءِ(of) the heavenوَلَاand notيَدْخُلُونَthey will enterٱلْجَنَّةَParadiseحَتَّىٰuntilيَلِجَpassesٱلْجَمَلُthe camelفِىthroughسَمِّ(the) eyeٱلْخِيَاطِ(of) the needleوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusنَجْزِىWe recompenseٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminals40
لَهُمFor themمِّنofجَهَنَّمَ(the) Hellمِهَادٌ(is) a bedوَمِنand fromفَوْقِهِمْover themغَوَاشٍcoveringsوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusنَجْزِىWe recompenseٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers41
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ[the] righteous deedsلَاnotنُكَلِّفُWe burdenنَفْسًاany soulإِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَآ(to) its capacityأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَ(will) abide forever42
وَنَزَعْنَاAnd We will removeمَاwhateverفِى(is) inصُدُورِهِمtheir breastsمِّنْofغِلٍّmaliceتَجْرِىFlowsمِنfromتَحْتِهِمُunderneath themٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversوَقَالُوا۟And they will sayٱلْحَمْدُAll the praiseلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahٱلَّذِىthe One Whoهَدَىٰنَاguided usلِهَٰذَاto thisوَمَاand notكُنَّاwe wereلِنَهْتَدِىَto receive guidanceلَوْلَآif notأَنْ[that]هَدَىٰنَا(had) guided usٱللَّهُAllahلَقَدْCertainlyجَآءَتْcameرُسُلُMessengersرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthوَنُودُوٓا۟And they will be addressedأَن[that]تِلْكُمُThisٱلْجَنَّةُ(is) Paradiseأُورِثْتُمُوهَاyou have been made to inherit itبِمَاfor whatكُنتُمْyou used toتَعْمَلُونَdo43
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd will call outأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseأَصْحَٰبَ(to the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the FireأَنthatقَدْIndeedوَجَدْنَاwe foundمَاwhatوَعَدَنَا(had) promised usرَبُّنَاour LordحَقًّاtrueفَهَلْSo haveوَجَدتُّمyou foundمَّاwhatوَعَدَ(was) promisedرَبُّكُمْ(by) your Lordحَقًّا(to be) trueقَالُوا۟They will sayنَعَمْYesفَأَذَّنَThen will announceمُؤَذِّنٌۢan announcerبَيْنَهُمْamong themأَن[that]لَّعْنَةُ(The) curseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَى(is) onٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers44
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَصُدُّونَhinderعَنfromسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَيَبْغُونَهَاand seek in itعِوَجًاcrookednessوَهُمwhile they (are)بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِconcerning the Hereafterكَٰفِرُونَdisbelievers45
وَبَيْنَهُمَاAnd between themحِجَابٌ(will be) a partitionوَعَلَىand onٱلْأَعْرَافِthe heightsرِجَالٌ(will be) menيَعْرِفُونَrecognizingكُلًّۢاallبِسِيمَىٰهُمْby their marksوَنَادَوْا۟And they will call outأَصْحَٰبَ(to the) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) ParadiseأَنthatسَلَٰمٌPeaceعَلَيْكُمْ(be) upon youلَمْNotيَدْخُلُوهَاthey have entered itوَهُمْbut theyيَطْمَعُونَhope46
وَإِذَاAnd whenصُرِفَتْare turnedأَبْصَٰرُهُمْtheir eyesتِلْقَآءَtowardsأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireقَالُوا۟they (will) sayرَبَّنَاOur Lordلَا(Do) notتَجْعَلْنَاplace usمَعَwithٱلْقَوْمِthe people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers47
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd (will) call outأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsٱلْأَعْرَافِ(of) the heightsرِجَالًا(to) menيَعْرِفُونَهُمwhom they recognizeبِسِيمَىٰهُمْby their marksقَالُوا۟sayingمَآNotأَغْنَىٰ(has) availedعَنكُمْ[to] youجَمْعُكُمْyour gatheringوَمَاand whatكُنتُمْyou wereتَسْتَكْبِرُونَarrogant (about)48
أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِAre theseٱلَّذِينَthe ones whomأَقْسَمْتُمْyou had swornلَا(that) notيَنَالُهُمُ(will) grant themٱللَّهُAllahبِرَحْمَةٍMercyٱدْخُلُوا۟EnterٱلْجَنَّةَParadiseلَا(There will be) noخَوْفٌfearعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَلَآand notأَنتُمْyouتَحْزَنُونَwill grieve49
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd (will) call outأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireأَصْحَٰبَ(to the) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseأَنْ[that]أَفِيضُوا۟Pourعَلَيْنَاupon usمِنَ[of]ٱلْمَآءِ(some) waterأَوْorمِمَّاof whatرَزَقَكُمُ(has been) provided (to) youٱللَّهُ(by) Allahقَالُوٓا۟They (will) sayإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahحَرَّمَهُمَاhas forbidden bothعَلَىtoٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers50
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoٱتَّخَذُوا۟tookدِينَهُمْtheir religionلَهْوًا(as) an amusementوَلَعِبًاand playوَغَرَّتْهُمُand deluded themٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldفَٱلْيَوْمَSo todayنَنسَىٰهُمْWe forget themكَمَاasنَسُوا۟they forgotلِقَآءَ(the) meetingيَوْمِهِمْ(of) their dayهَٰذَاthisوَمَاand [what]كَانُوا۟(as) they used toبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاwith Our Versesيَجْحَدُونَthey reject51
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyجِئْنَٰهُمWe had brought themبِكِتَٰبٍa Bookفَصَّلْنَٰهُwhich We have explainedعَلَىٰwithعِلْمٍknowledge هُدًىas guidanceوَرَحْمَةًand mercyلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believe52
هَلْDoيَنظُرُونَthey waitإِلَّاexceptتَأْوِيلَهُۥ(for) its fulfillmentيَوْمَ(The) Dayيَأْتِى(will) comeتَأْوِيلُهُۥits fulfillmentيَقُولُwill sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoنَسُوهُhad forgotten itمِنfromقَبْلُbeforeقَدْVerilyجَآءَتْhad comeرُسُلُ(the) Messengersرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthفَهَلso are (there)لَّنَاfor usمِنanyشُفَعَآءَintercessorsفَيَشْفَعُوا۟so (that) they intercedeلَنَآfor usأَوْorنُرَدُّwe are sent backفَنَعْمَلَso (that) we do (deeds)غَيْرَother thanٱلَّذِىthat whichكُنَّاwe used toنَعْمَلُdoقَدْVerilyخَسِرُوٓا۟they lostأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesوَضَلَّand strayedعَنْهُمfrom themمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟they used toيَفْتَرُونَinvent53
إِنَّIndeedرَبَّكُمُyour Lordٱللَّهُ(is) Allahٱلَّذِىthe One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthفِىinسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍepochsثُمَّthenٱسْتَوَىٰHe ascendedعَلَىonٱلْعَرْشِthe ThroneيُغْشِىHe coversٱلَّيْلَthe nightٱلنَّهَارَ(with) the dayيَطْلُبُهُۥseeking itحَثِيثًاrapidlyوَٱلشَّمْسَand the sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonوَٱلنُّجُومَand the stars مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۢsubjectedبِأَمْرِهِۦٓby His commandأَلَاUnquestionablyلَهُfor Himٱلْخَلْقُ(is) the creationوَٱلْأَمْرُand the commandتَبَارَكَblessedٱللَّهُ(is) AllahرَبُّLordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds54
ٱدْعُوا۟Call uponرَبَّكُمْyour Lordتَضَرُّعًاhumblyوَخُفْيَةًand privatelyإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveٱلْمُعْتَدِينَthe transgressors55
وَلَاAnd (do) notتُفْسِدُوا۟cause corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthبَعْدَafterإِصْلَٰحِهَاits reformationوَٱدْعُوهُAnd call Himخَوْفًا(in) fearوَطَمَعًاand hopeإِنَّIndeedرَحْمَتَ(the) Mercyٱللَّهِ(of) Allahقَرِيبٌ(is) nearمِّنَforٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doers56
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُرْسِلُsendsٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windsبُشْرًۢا(as) glad tidingsبَيْنَfromيَدَىْbeforeرَحْمَتِهِۦHis Mercyحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَآwhenأَقَلَّتْthey have carriedسَحَابًاclouds ثِقَالًاheavyسُقْنَٰهُWe drive themلِبَلَدٍto a landمَّيِّتٍdeadفَأَنزَلْنَاthen We send downبِهِfrom itٱلْمَآءَthe waterفَأَخْرَجْنَاthen We bring forthبِهِۦfrom itمِن(of)كُلِّall (kinds)ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ(of) fruitsكَذَٰلِكَThusنُخْرِجُWe will bring forthٱلْمَوْتَىٰthe deadلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَtake heed57
وَٱلْبَلَدُAnd the land ٱلطَّيِّبُ[the] pureيَخْرُجُcomes forthنَبَاتُهُۥits vegetationبِإِذْنِby (the) permissionرَبِّهِۦ(of) its Lordوَٱلَّذِىbut whichخَبُثَis bad لَا(does) notيَخْرُجُcome forthإِلَّاexceptنَكِدًا(with) difficultyكَذَٰلِكَThusنُصَرِّفُWe explainٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Signsلِقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَشْكُرُونَwho are grateful58
لَقَدْCertainlyأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentنُوحًاNuhإِلَىٰtoقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleفَقَالَand he saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْanyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥٓother than HimإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iأَخَافُ[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْfor youعَذَابَpunishmentيَوْمٍ(of the) DayعَظِيمٍGreat59
قَالَSaidٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsمِنofقَوْمِهِۦٓhis peopleإِنَّاIndeed, weلَنَرَىٰكَsurely see youفِىinضَلَٰلٍerrorمُّبِينٍclear60
قَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleلَيْسَThere is notبِىin meضَلَٰلَةٌerrorوَلَٰكِنِّىbut I amرَسُولٌa Messengerمِّنfromرَّبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds61
أُبَلِّغُكُمْI convey to youرِسَٰلَٰتِthe Messagesرَبِّى(of) my Lordوَأَنصَحُand [I] adviseلَكُمْ[to] youوَأَعْلَمُand I knowمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know62
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْDo you wonderأَنthatجَآءَكُمْhas come to youذِكْرٌa reminderمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordعَلَىٰonرَجُلٍa manمِّنكُمْamong youلِيُنذِرَكُمْthat he may warn youوَلِتَتَّقُوا۟and that you may fearوَلَعَلَّكُمْand so that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy63
فَكَذَّبُوهُBut they denied himفَأَنجَيْنَٰهُso We saved himوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoمَعَهُۥ(were) with himفِىinٱلْفُلْكِthe shipوَأَغْرَقْنَاAnd We drownedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَذَّبُوا۟deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآOur VersesإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyكَانُوا۟wereقَوْمًاa peopleعَمِينَblind64
وَإِلَىٰAnd toعَادٍAadأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherهُودًاHudقَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْanyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥٓother than HimأَفَلَاThen will notتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)65
قَالَSaidٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedمِنfromقَوْمِهِۦٓhis peopleإِنَّاIndeed, weلَنَرَىٰكَsurely, see youفِىinسَفَاهَةٍfoolishnessوَإِنَّاand indeed, weلَنَظُنُّكَ[we] think youمِنَ(are) ofٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars66
قَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleلَيْسَThere is notبِىin meسَفَاهَةٌfoolishnessوَلَٰكِنِّىbut I amرَسُولٌa Messengerمِّنfromرَّبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds67
أُبَلِّغُكُمْI convey to youرِسَٰلَٰتِMessagesرَبِّى(of) my Lordوَأَنَاand I amلَكُمْto youنَاصِحٌan adviser أَمِينٌtrustworthy68
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْDo you wonderأَنthatجَآءَكُمْhas come to youذِكْرٌa reminderمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordعَلَىٰonرَجُلٍa manمِّنكُمْamong youلِيُنذِرَكُمْthat he may warn youوَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberإِذْwhenجَعَلَكُمْHe made youخُلَفَآءَsuccessorsمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterقَوْمِ(the) peopleنُوحٍ(of) Nuhوَزَادَكُمْand increased youفِىinٱلْخَلْقِthe statureبَصْطَةًextensivelyفَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟So rememberءَالَآءَ(the) Bountiesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُفْلِحُونَsucceed69
قَالُوٓا۟They saidأَجِئْتَنَاHave you come to usلِنَعْبُدَthat we (should) worshipٱللَّهَAllahوَحْدَهُۥAloneوَنَذَرَand we forsakeمَاwhatكَانَused toيَعْبُدُworshipءَابَآؤُنَاour forefathersفَأْتِنَاThen bring usبِمَاof whatتَعِدُنَآyou promise usإِنifكُنتَyou areمِنَofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful70
قَالَHe saidقَدْVerilyوَقَعَhas fallenعَلَيْكُمupon youمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordرِجْسٌpunishmentوَغَضَبٌand angerأَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِىDo you dispute with meفِىٓconcerningأَسْمَآءٍnamesسَمَّيْتُمُوهَآyou have named them أَنتُمْyouوَءَابَآؤُكُمand your forefathersمَّاNotنَزَّلَ(has been) sent downٱللَّهُ(by) Allahبِهَاfor itمِنanyسُلْطَٰنٍauthorityفَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟Then waitإِنِّىindeed, I amمَعَكُمwith youمِّنَofٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَthe ones who wait71
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُSo We saved himوَٱلَّذِينَand thoseمَعَهُۥwith himبِرَحْمَةٍby Mercyمِّنَّاfrom UsوَقَطَعْنَاAnd We cut offدَابِرَthe rootsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَذَّبُوا۟deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاOur Signsوَمَاand notكَانُوا۟they wereمُؤْمِنِينَbelievers72
وَإِلَىٰAnd toثَمُودَThamudأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherصَٰلِحًاSalihقَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْanyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥother than HimقَدْVerilyجَآءَتْكُمhas come to youبَيِّنَةٌa clear proofمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour LordهَٰذِهِۦThisنَاقَةُ(is) a she-camelٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَكُمْ(it is) for youءَايَةًa SignفَذَرُوهَاSo you leave herتَأْكُلْ(to) eatفِىٓonأَرْضِ(the) earthٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَلَاand (do) notتَمَسُّوهَاtouch herبِسُوٓءٍwith harmفَيَأْخُذَكُمْlest seizes youعَذَابٌa punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful73
وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberإِذْwhenجَعَلَكُمْHe made youخُلَفَآءَsuccessorsمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterعَادٍAadوَبَوَّأَكُمْand settled youفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthتَتَّخِذُونَYou takeمِنfromسُهُولِهَاits plainsقُصُورًاpalacesوَتَنْحِتُونَand you carve outٱلْجِبَالَthe mountainsبُيُوتًا(as) homesفَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟So rememberءَالَآءَ(the) Bountiesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَلَاand (do) notتَعْثَوْا۟act wickedlyفِىinٱلْأَرْضِ(the) earthمُفْسِدِينَspreading corruption74
قَالَSaidٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَ thoseٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟(who) were arrogantمِنamongقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleلِلَّذِينَto those whoٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟were oppressed لِمَنْ[to] those whoءَامَنَbelievedمِنْهُمْamong themأَتَعْلَمُونَDo you knowأَنَّthatصَٰلِحًاSalihمُّرْسَلٌ(is the) one sentمِّنfromرَّبِّهِۦhis Lordقَالُوٓا۟They saidإِنَّاIndeed, weبِمَآin whatأُرْسِلَhe has been sentبِهِۦwith [it]مُؤْمِنُونَ(are) believers75
قَالَSaidٱلَّذِينَthose whoٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟were arrogantإِنَّاIndeed weبِٱلَّذِىٓin that whichءَامَنتُمyou believeبِهِۦin itكَٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers76
فَعَقَرُوا۟Then they hamstrungٱلنَّاقَةَthe she-camelوَعَتَوْا۟and (were) insolentعَنْtowardsأَمْرِ(the) commandرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordوَقَالُوا۟and they saidيَٰصَٰلِحُO SalihٱئْتِنَاBring usبِمَاwhatتَعِدُنَآyou promise usإِنifكُنتَyou areمِنَofٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers77
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo seized themٱلرَّجْفَةُthe earthquakeفَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they becameفِىinدَارِهِمْtheir homesجَٰثِمِينَfallen prone78
فَتَوَلَّىٰSo he turned awayعَنْهُمْfrom themوَقَالَand he saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleلَقَدْVerilyأَبْلَغْتُكُمْI have conveyed to youرِسَالَةَ(the) Messageرَبِّى(of) my Lordوَنَصَحْتُand [I] advisedلَكُمْ[to] youوَلَٰكِنbutلَّاnotتُحِبُّونَyou likeٱلنَّٰصِحِينَthe advisers79
وَلُوطًاAnd Lutإِذْwhenقَالَhe saidلِقَوْمِهِۦٓto his peopleأَتَأْتُونَDo you commitٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ(such) immoralityمَاnotسَبَقَكُمhas preceded youبِهَاthereinمِنْanyأَحَدٍoneمِّنَofٱلْعَٰلَمِينَthe worlds80
إِنَّكُمْIndeed, youلَتَأْتُونَyou approachٱلرِّجَالَthe menشَهْوَةًlustfullyمِّنfromدُونِinstead ofٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleمُّسْرِفُونَ(who) commit excesses81
وَمَاAnd notكَانَwasجَوَابَ(the) answerقَوْمِهِۦٓ(of) his peopleإِلَّآexceptأَنthatقَالُوٓا۟they saidأَخْرِجُوهُمDrive them outمِّنofقَرْيَتِكُمْyour townإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyأُنَاسٌ(are) peopleيَتَطَهَّرُونَwho keep themselves pure82
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُSo We saved himوَأَهْلَهُۥٓand his familyإِلَّاexceptٱمْرَأَتَهُۥhis wifeكَانَتْshe wasمِنَofٱلْغَٰبِرِينَthose who stayed behind83
وَأَمْطَرْنَاAnd We showeredعَلَيْهِمupon themمَّطَرًاa rainفَٱنظُرْSo seeكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals84
وَإِلَىٰAnd toمَدْيَنَMadyanأَخَاهُمْhis brotherشُعَيْبًاShuaibقَالَHe saidيَٰقَوْمِO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟WorshipٱللَّهَAllahمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنْanyإِلَٰهٍgodغَيْرُهُۥother than HimقَدْVerilyجَآءَتْكُمhas came to youبَيِّنَةٌa clear proofمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordفَأَوْفُوا۟So give fullٱلْكَيْلَ[the] measureوَٱلْمِيزَانَand the weightوَلَاand (do) notتَبْخَسُوا۟depriveٱلنَّاسَ[the] peopleأَشْيَآءَهُمْin their thingsوَلَاand (do) notتُفْسِدُوا۟cause corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthبَعْدَafterإِصْلَٰحِهَاits reformationذَٰلِكُمْThatخَيْرٌ(is) betterلَّكُمْfor youإِنifكُنتُمyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers85
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَقْعُدُوا۟sitبِكُلِّon everyصِرَٰطٍpathتُوعِدُونَthreateningوَتَصُدُّونَand hinderingعَنfromسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمَنْ(those) whoءَامَنَbelieveبِهِۦin Himوَتَبْغُونَهَاand seeking (to make) itعِوَجًاcrookedوَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberإِذْwhenكُنتُمْyou wereقَلِيلًاfewفَكَثَّرَكُمْand He increased youوَٱنظُرُوا۟And seeكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ(of) the corrupters86
وَإِنAnd ifكَانَ(there) isطَآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنكُمْamong youءَامَنُوا۟(who has) believedبِٱلَّذِىٓin that whichأُرْسِلْتُI have been sentبِهِۦwith [it]وَطَآئِفَةٌand a groupلَّمْnotيُؤْمِنُوا۟they believeفَٱصْبِرُوا۟then be patientحَتَّىٰuntilيَحْكُمَjudgesٱللَّهُAllahبَيْنَنَاbetween usوَهُوَAnd Heخَيْرُ(is the) Bestٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ(of) [the] Judges87
