وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُAnd (prohibited are) the ones who are marriedمِنَofٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenإِلَّاexceptمَاwhomمَلَكَتْyou possessأَيْمَٰنُكُمْrightfullyكِتَٰبَDecreeٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youوَأُحِلَّAnd are lawfulلَكُمto youمَّاwhatوَرَآءَ(is) beyondذَٰلِكُمْthatأَنthatتَبْتَغُوا۟you seekبِأَمْوَٰلِكُمwith your wealthمُّحْصِنِينَdesiring to be chasteغَيْرَnotمُسَٰفِحِينَ(to be) lustfulفَمَاSo whatٱسْتَمْتَعْتُمyou benefit[ed]بِهِۦof itمِنْهُنَّfrom themفَـَٔاتُوهُنَّso you give themأُجُورَهُنَّtheir bridal dueفَرِيضَةً(as) an obligationوَلَاAnd (there is) noجُنَاحَsinعَلَيْكُمْon youفِيمَاconcerning whatتَرَٰضَيْتُمyou mutually agreeبِهِۦof itمِنۢfromبَعْدِbeyondٱلْفَرِيضَةِthe obligationإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلِيمًاAll-KnowingحَكِيمًاAll-Wise24
وَمَنAnd whoeverلَّمْ(is) notيَسْتَطِعْable toمِنكُمْamong youطَوْلًاaffordأَنtoيَنكِحَmarryٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِthe free chasteٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ[the] believing womenفَمِنthen (marry) fromمَّاwhatمَلَكَتْpossess[ed]أَيْمَٰنُكُمyour right handsمِّنofفَتَيَٰتِكُمُyour slave girls ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ(of) the believersوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahأَعْلَمُknows bestبِإِيمَٰنِكُمabout your faithبَعْضُكُمYouمِّنۢ(are) fromبَعْضٍ(one) anotherفَٱنكِحُوهُنَّSo marry themبِإِذْنِwith (the) permissionأَهْلِهِنَّ(of) their familyوَءَاتُوهُنَّand give themأُجُورَهُنَّtheir bridal dueبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِin a fair mannerمُحْصَنَٰتٍ(They should be) chasteغَيْرَnotمُسَٰفِحَٰتٍthose who commit immoralityوَلَاand notمُتَّخِذَٰتِthose who takeأَخْدَانٍsecret loversفَإِذَآThen whenأُحْصِنَّthey are marriedفَإِنْand ifأَتَيْنَthey commitبِفَٰحِشَةٍadulteryفَعَلَيْهِنَّthen for themنِصْفُ(is) halfمَا(of) whatعَلَى(is) onٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِthe free chaste womenمِنَofٱلْعَذَابِthe punishmentذَٰلِكَThatلِمَنْ(is) for whoeverخَشِىَfearsٱلْعَنَتَcommitting sinمِنكُمْamong youوَأَنand thatتَصْبِرُوا۟you be patientخَيْرٌ(is) betterلَّكُمْfor youوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful25
يُرِيدُWishesٱللَّهُAllahلِيُبَيِّنَto make clearلَكُمْto youوَيَهْدِيَكُمْand to guide youسُنَنَ(to) waysٱلَّذِينَ(of) thoseمِنfromقَبْلِكُمْbefore youوَيَتُوبَand (to) accept repentanceعَلَيْكُمْfrom youوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلِيمٌ(is) All-KnowingحَكِيمٌAll-Wise26
وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيُرِيدُwishesأَنtoيَتُوبَaccept repentanceعَلَيْكُمْfrom youوَيُرِيدُbut wishٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَتَّبِعُونَfollowٱلشَّهَوَٰتِthe passionsأَنthatتَمِيلُوا۟you deviate مَيْلًا(into) a deviationعَظِيمًاgreat27
يُرِيدُWishesٱللَّهُAllahأَنtoيُخَفِّفَlightenعَنكُمْfor youوَخُلِقَand was createdٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe mankindضَعِيفًاweak28
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]لَا(Do) notتَأْكُلُوٓا۟eatأَمْوَٰلَكُمyour wealthبَيْنَكُمbetween yourselvesبِٱلْبَٰطِلِunjustlyإِلَّآButأَنthatتَكُونَ(there) beتِجَٰرَةًbusinessعَنonتَرَاضٍmutual consentمِّنكُمْamong youوَلَاAnd (do) notتَقْتُلُوٓا۟killأَنفُسَكُمْyourselvesإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِكُمْto youرَحِيمًاMost Merciful29
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatعُدْوَٰنًا(in) aggressionوَظُلْمًاand injusticeفَسَوْفَthen soonنُصْلِيهِWe (will) cast himنَارًا(into) a FireوَكَانَAnd isذَٰلِكَthatعَلَىforٱللَّهِAllahيَسِيرًاeasy30
إِنIfتَجْتَنِبُوا۟you avoidكَبَآئِرَgreat (sins)مَا(of) whatتُنْهَوْنَyou are forbiddenعَنْهُfrom [it]نُكَفِّرْWe will removeعَنكُمْfrom youسَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْyour evil deedsوَنُدْخِلْكُمand We will admit youمُّدْخَلًا(to) an entranceكَرِيمًاnoble31
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَتَمَنَّوْا۟covetمَاwhatفَضَّلَ(has) bestowedٱللَّهُAllahبِهِۦ[with it]بَعْضَكُمْsome of youعَلَىٰoverبَعْضٍothersلِّلرِّجَالِFor menنَصِيبٌ(is) a shareمِّمَّاof whatٱكْتَسَبُوا۟they earnedوَلِلنِّسَآءِand for womenنَصِيبٌ(is) a shareمِّمَّاof whatٱكْتَسَبْنَthey earnedوَسْـَٔلُوا۟And askٱللَّهَAllahمِنofفَضْلِهِۦٓHis bountyإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingعَلِيمًاAll-Knower32
وَلِكُلٍّAnd for allجَعَلْنَاWe (have) madeمَوَٰلِىَheirsمِمَّاof whatتَرَكَ(is) leftٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ(by) the parentsوَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَand the relativesوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whomعَقَدَتْpledgedأَيْمَٰنُكُمْyour right hands فَـَٔاتُوهُمْthen give themنَصِيبَهُمْtheir shareإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلَىٰoverكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingشَهِيدًاa Witness33
ٱلرِّجَالُ[The] menقَوَّٰمُونَ(are) protectorsعَلَىofٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenبِمَاbecauseفَضَّلَ(has) bestowedٱللَّهُAllahبَعْضَهُمْsome of themعَلَىٰoverبَعْضٍothersوَبِمَآand becauseأَنفَقُوا۟they spendمِنْfromأَمْوَٰلِهِمْtheir wealthفَٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُSo the righteous womenقَٰنِتَٰتٌ(are) obedientحَٰفِظَٰتٌguardingلِّلْغَيْبِin the unseenبِمَاthat whichحَفِظَ(orders) them to guardٱللَّهُ(by) AllahوَٱلَّٰتِىAnd those (from) whomتَخَافُونَyou fearنُشُوزَهُنَّtheir ill-conductفَعِظُوهُنَّthen advise themوَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّand forsake themفِىinٱلْمَضَاجِعِthe bedوَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّand [finally] strike themفَإِنْThen ifأَطَعْنَكُمْthey obey youفَلَاthen (do) notتَبْغُوا۟seekعَلَيْهِنَّagainst themسَبِيلًاa wayإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلِيًّاMost HighكَبِيرًاMost Great34
وَإِنْAnd ifخِفْتُمْyou fearشِقَاقَa dissensionبَيْنِهِمَاbetween (the) two of themفَٱبْعَثُوا۟then sendحَكَمًاan arbitratorمِّنْfromأَهْلِهِۦhis familyوَحَكَمًاand an arbitratorمِّنْfromأَهْلِهَآher familyإِنIfيُرِيدَآthey both wishإِصْلَٰحًاreconciliationيُوَفِّقِwill cause reconciliationٱللَّهُAllahبَيْنَهُمَآbetween both of themإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerخَبِيرًاAll-Aware35
وَٱعْبُدُوا۟And worshipٱللَّهَAllahوَلَاAnd (do) notتُشْرِكُوا۟associateبِهِۦwith Himشَيْـًٔاanythingوَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِand to the parentsإِحْسَٰنًا(do) goodوَبِذِىand withٱلْقُرْبَىٰthe relativesوَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰand the orphansوَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِand the needyوَٱلْجَارِand the neighborذِى(who is)ٱلْقُرْبَىٰnearوَٱلْجَارِand the neighborٱلْجُنُبِ(who is) farther awayوَٱلصَّاحِبِand the companionبِٱلْجَنۢبِby your sideوَٱبْنِand theٱلسَّبِيلِtravelerوَمَاand whatمَلَكَتْpossess[ed]أَيْمَٰنُكُمْyour right handsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveمَن(the one) whoكَانَisمُخْتَالًا[a] proudفَخُورًا(and) [a] boastful36
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَبْخَلُونَare stingyوَيَأْمُرُونَand orderٱلنَّاسَthe peopleبِٱلْبُخْلِ[of] stinginessوَيَكْتُمُونَand hideمَآwhatءَاتَىٰهُمُ(has) given themٱللَّهُAllahمِنofفَضْلِهِۦHis Bounty وَأَعْتَدْنَاand We (have) preparedلِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversعَذَابًاa punishmentمُّهِينًاhumiliating37
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيُنفِقُونَspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealthرِئَآءَto be seenٱلنَّاسِ(by) the peopleوَلَاand notيُؤْمِنُونَthey believeبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَلَاand notبِٱلْيَوْمِin the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِthe Lastوَمَنand whoeverيَكُنِhasٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanلَهُۥfor himقَرِينًا(as) companion فَسَآءَthen evilقَرِينًا(is he as) a companion38
وَمَاذَاAnd whatعَلَيْهِمْ(is) against themلَوْifءَامَنُوا۟they believedبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِthe Lastوَأَنفَقُوا۟and spentمِمَّاfrom whatرَزَقَهُمُ(has) provided themٱللَّهُAllahوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahبِهِمْabout themعَلِيمًاAll-Knower39
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيَظْلِمُwrongمِثْقَالَ(as much as) weightذَرَّةٍ(of) an atomوَإِنAnd ifتَكُthere isحَسَنَةًa goodيُضَٰعِفْهَاHe doubles itوَيُؤْتِand givesمِنfromلَّدُنْهُnear Himأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاgreat40
فَكَيْفَSo how (will it be)إِذَاwhenجِئْنَاWe bringمِنfromكُلِّeveryأُمَّةٍۢnationبِشَهِيدٍa witnessوَجِئْنَاand We bringبِكَyouعَلَىٰagainstهَٰٓؤُلَآءِthese (people)شَهِيدًا(as) a witness41
يَوْمَئِذٍ(On) that Dayيَوَدُّwill wishٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedوَعَصَوُا۟and disobeyedٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerلَوْifتُسَوَّىٰwas leveledبِهِمُwith themٱلْأَرْضُthe earthوَلَاand notيَكْتُمُونَthey will (be able to) hideٱللَّهَ(from) Allahحَدِيثًا(any) statement42
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]لَا(Do) notتَقْرَبُوا۟go nearٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَأَنتُمْwhile youسُكَٰرَىٰ(are) intoxicatedحَتَّىٰuntilتَعْلَمُوا۟you knowمَاwhatتَقُولُونَyou are sayingوَلَاand notجُنُبًا(when you are) impureإِلَّاexceptعَابِرِى(when) passingسَبِيلٍ(through) a wayحَتَّىٰuntilتَغْتَسِلُوا۟you have bathedوَإِنAnd ifكُنتُمyou areمَّرْضَىٰٓillأَوْorعَلَىٰonسَفَرٍa journeyأَوْorجَآءَcameأَحَدٌoneمِّنكُمof youمِّنَfromٱلْغَآئِطِthe toiletأَوْorلَٰمَسْتُمُyou have touchedٱلنِّسَآءَthe womenفَلَمْand notتَجِدُوا۟you findمَآءًwaterفَتَيَمَّمُوا۟then do tayammumصَعِيدًا(with) earthطَيِّبًاcleanفَٱمْسَحُوا۟and wipe (with it)بِوُجُوهِكُمْyour facesوَأَيْدِيكُمْand your handsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَفُوًّاOft-PardoningغَفُورًاOft-Forgiving43
أَلَمْDid notتَرَyou seeإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenنَصِيبًاa portionمِّنَofٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookيَشْتَرُونَpurchasingٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ[the] errorوَيُرِيدُونَand wishingأَنthatتَضِلُّوا۟you strayٱلسَّبِيلَ(from) the way44
وَٱللَّهُAnd Allahأَعْلَمُknows betterبِأَعْدَآئِكُمْabout your enemiesوَكَفَىٰand (is) sufficientبِٱللَّهِAllahوَلِيًّا(as) a Protectorوَكَفَىٰand sufficientبِٱللَّهِ(is) Allahنَصِيرًا(as) a Helper45
مِّنَOfٱلَّذِينَthose whoهَادُوا۟are Jewsيُحَرِّفُونَthey distortٱلْكَلِمَthe wordsعَنfromمَّوَاضِعِهِۦtheir placesوَيَقُولُونَand they sayسَمِعْنَاWe hear[d]وَعَصَيْنَاand we disobey[ed]وَٱسْمَعْand "Hearغَيْرَnotمُسْمَعٍto be heardوَرَٰعِنَاand "Rainaلَيًّۢاtwistingبِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ[with] their tonguesوَطَعْنًاand defamingفِى[in]ٱلدِّينِthe religionوَلَوْAnd ifأَنَّهُمْ[that] theyقَالُوا۟(had) saidسَمِعْنَاWe hear[d]وَأَطَعْنَاand we obey[ed]وَٱسْمَعْand "Hearوَٱنظُرْنَاand look (at) usلَكَانَsurely it (would) have beenخَيْرًاbetterلَّهُمْfor themوَأَقْوَمَand more suitableوَلَٰكِن[And] butلَّعَنَهُمُcursed themٱللَّهُAllahبِكُفْرِهِمْfor their disbeliefفَلَاso notيُؤْمِنُونَthey believeإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa few46
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoأُوتُوا۟(have) been givenٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookءَامِنُوا۟believeبِمَاin whatنَزَّلْنَاWe (have) revealedمُصَدِّقًاconfirmingلِّمَاwhat isمَعَكُمwith youمِّنfromقَبْلِbeforeأَن[that]نَّطْمِسَWe effaceوُجُوهًاfacesفَنَرُدَّهَاand turn themعَلَىٰٓonأَدْبَارِهَآtheir backsأَوْorنَلْعَنَهُمْWe curse themكَمَاasلَعَنَّآWe cursedأَصْحَٰبَcompanionsٱلسَّبْتِ(of) the SabbathوَكَانَAnd isأَمْرُ(the) commandٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمَفْعُولًا(always) executed47
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيَغْفِرُforgiveأَنthatيُشْرَكَpartners be associatedبِهِۦwith Himوَيَغْفِرُbut He forgivesمَاfromدُونَother thanذَٰلِكَthatلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَمَنAnd whoeverيُشْرِكْassociates partnersبِٱللَّهِwith Allahفَقَدِthen surelyٱفْتَرَىٰٓhe has fabricatedإِثْمًاa sin عَظِيمًاtremendous48
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoيُزَكُّونَclaim purityأَنفُسَهُم(for) themselvesبَلِNayٱللَّهُ(it is) AllahيُزَكِّىHe purifiesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَلَاand notيُظْلَمُونَthey will be wrongedفَتِيلًا(even as much as) a hair on a date-seed49
ٱنظُرْSeeكَيْفَhowيَفْتَرُونَthey inventعَلَىaboutٱللَّهِAllahٱلْكَذِبَ[the] lieوَكَفَىٰand sufficientبِهِۦٓis it إِثْمًا(as) a sinمُّبِينًاmanifest50
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenنَصِيبًاa portionمِّنَofٱلْكِتَٰبِthe BookيُؤْمِنُونَThey believeبِٱلْجِبْتِin the superstitionوَٱلطَّٰغُوتِand the false deitiesوَيَقُولُونَand they sayلِلَّذِينَfor those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve[d]هَٰٓؤُلَآءِTheseأَهْدَىٰ(are) better guidedمِنَthanٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]سَبِيلًا(as to the) way51
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the onesلَعَنَهُمُ(who have been) cursedٱللَّهُ(by) Allahوَمَنand whoeverيَلْعَنِ(is) cursedٱللَّهُ(by) Allahفَلَنthen neverتَجِدَwill you findلَهُۥfor himنَصِيرًا(any) helper52
أَمْOrلَهُمْfor themنَصِيبٌ(is) a shareمِّنَofٱلْمُلْكِthe KingdomفَإِذًاThenلَّاnot wouldيُؤْتُونَthey giveٱلنَّاسَthe peopleنَقِيرًا(even as much as the) speck on a date seed53
أَمْOrيَحْسُدُونَare they jealousٱلنَّاسَ(of) the peopleعَلَىٰforمَآwhatءَاتَىٰهُمُgave themٱللَّهُAllahمِنfromفَضْلِهِۦHis BountyفَقَدْBut surelyءَاتَيْنَآWe gaveءَالَ(the) familyإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahimٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلْحِكْمَةَand [the] wisdomوَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمand [We] gave themمُّلْكًاa kingdomعَظِيمًاgreat54
فَمِنْهُمThen of themمَّنْ(are some) whoءَامَنَbelievedبِهِۦin himوَمِنْهُمand of themمَّن(are some) whoصَدَّturned awayعَنْهُfrom himوَكَفَىٰand sufficientبِجَهَنَّمَ(is) Hellسَعِيرًا(as a) Blazing Fire55
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاin Our SignsسَوْفَsoonنُصْلِيهِمْWe will burn themنَارًا(in) a FireكُلَّمَاEvery timeنَضِجَتْare roastedجُلُودُهُمtheir skinsبَدَّلْنَٰهُمْWe will change theirجُلُودًاskinsغَيْرَهَاfor other (than) thatلِيَذُوقُوا۟so that they may tasteٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَزِيزًاAll-MightyحَكِيمًاAll-Wise56
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِthe good deedsسَنُدْخِلُهُمْWe will admit themجَنَّٰتٍ(in) Gardensتَجْرِىflowsمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversخَٰلِدِينَwill abideفِيهَآin itأَبَدًاforeverلَّهُمْFor themفِيهَآin itأَزْوَٰجٌ(are) spousesمُّطَهَّرَةٌpureوَنُدْخِلُهُمْand We will admit themظِلًّا(in the) shadeظَلِيلًاthick57
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيَأْمُرُكُمْorders youأَنtoتُؤَدُّوا۟renderٱلْأَمَٰنَٰتِthe trustsإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهَاtheir ownersوَإِذَاand whenحَكَمْتُمyou judgeبَيْنَbetweenٱلنَّاسِthe peopleأَنtoتَحْكُمُوا۟judgeبِٱلْعَدْلِwith justiceإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahنِعِمَّاexcellentlyيَعِظُكُمadvises youبِهِۦٓwith itإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisسَمِيعًۢاAll-HearingبَصِيرًاAll-Seeing58
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]أَطِيعُوا۟ObeyٱللَّهَAllahوَأَطِيعُوا۟and obeyٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerوَأُو۟لِىand thoseٱلْأَمْرِ(having) authorityمِنكُمْamong youفَإِنThen ifتَنَٰزَعْتُمْyou disagreeفِىinشَىْءٍanythingفَرُدُّوهُrefer itإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَٱلرَّسُولِand the Messengerإِنifكُنتُمْyouتُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِ[the] LastذَٰلِكَThatخَيْرٌ(is) bestوَأَحْسَنُand more suitableتَأْوِيلًا(for final) determination59
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَزْعُمُونَclaimأَنَّهُمْthat theyءَامَنُوا۟believeبِمَآin whatأُنزِلَ(is) revealedإِلَيْكَto youوَمَآand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedمِنfromقَبْلِكَbefore youيُرِيدُونَThey wishأَنtoيَتَحَاكَمُوٓا۟go for judgmentإِلَىtoٱلطَّٰغُوتِthe false deitiesوَقَدْand surelyأُمِرُوٓا۟they were orderedأَنtoيَكْفُرُوا۟rejectبِهِۦ[with] itوَيُرِيدُAnd wishesٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanأَنtoيُضِلَّهُمْmislead themضَلَٰلًۢاastray بَعِيدًاfar away60
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمْto themتَعَالَوْا۟Comeإِلَىٰtoمَآwhatأَنزَلَ(has) revealedٱللَّهُAllahوَإِلَىand toٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerرَأَيْتَyou seeٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesيَصُدُّونَturning awayعَنكَfrom youصُدُودًا(in) aversion61
فَكَيْفَSo howإِذَآwhenأَصَٰبَتْهُمbefalls themمُّصِيبَةٌۢdisasterبِمَاfor whatقَدَّمَتْsent forthأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsثُمَّthenجَآءُوكَthey come to youيَحْلِفُونَswearingبِٱللَّهِby AllahإِنْNotأَرَدْنَآwe intendedإِلَّآexceptإِحْسَٰنًاgoodوَتَوْفِيقًاand reconciliation62
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones who يَعْلَمُknowsٱللَّهُAllahمَاwhatفِى(is) inقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsفَأَعْرِضْso turn awayعَنْهُمْfrom themوَعِظْهُمْand admonish themوَقُلand sayلَّهُمْto themفِىٓconcerningأَنفُسِهِمْtheir soulsقَوْلًۢاa wordبَلِيغًاpenetrating63
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاexceptلِيُطَاعَto be obeyedبِإِذْنِby (the) permissionٱللَّهِ(of) AllahوَلَوْAnd ifأَنَّهُمْ[that] theyإِذwhenظَّلَمُوٓا۟they wrongedأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesجَآءُوكَ(had) come to youفَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟and asked forgivenessٱللَّهَ(of) Allahوَٱسْتَغْفَرَand asked forgivenessلَهُمُfor themٱلرَّسُولُthe Messengerلَوَجَدُوا۟surely they would have foundٱللَّهَAllahتَوَّابًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful64
فَلَاBut noوَرَبِّكَby your Lordلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَwill they believeحَتَّىٰuntilيُحَكِّمُوكَthey make you judgeفِيمَاabout whatشَجَرَarisesبَيْنَهُمْbetween themثُمَّthenلَاnotيَجِدُوا۟they findفِىٓinأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesحَرَجًاany discomfortمِّمَّاabout whatقَضَيْتَyou (have) decidedوَيُسَلِّمُوا۟and submitتَسْلِيمًا(in full) submission65
وَلَوْAnd ifأَنَّا[that] Weكَتَبْنَا(had) decreedعَلَيْهِمْon themأَنِthatٱقْتُلُوٓا۟Killأَنفُسَكُمْyourselvesأَوِorٱخْرُجُوا۟Go forthمِنfromدِيَٰرِكُمyour homesمَّاnotفَعَلُوهُthey would have done itإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلٌa fewمِّنْهُمْof themوَلَوْBut ifأَنَّهُمْ[that] theyفَعَلُوا۟had doneمَاwhatيُوعَظُونَthey were advisedبِهِۦwith [it]لَكَانَsurely (it) would have beenخَيْرًاbetterلَّهُمْfor themوَأَشَدَّand strongerتَثْبِيتًاstrengthen(ing)66
وَإِذًاAnd thenلَّءَاتَيْنَٰهُمWe would (have) given themمِّنfromلَّدُنَّآOurselvesأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاgreat67
وَمَنAnd whoeverيُطِعِobeysٱللَّهَAllahوَٱلرَّسُولَand the Messengerفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseمَعَ(will be) withٱلَّذِينَthose whomأَنْعَمَhas bestowed (His) FavorٱللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِمupon them مِّنَofٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَthe Prophetsوَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَand the truthfulوَٱلشُّهَدَآءِand the martyrsوَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَand the righteousوَحَسُنَAnd excellentأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ(are) thoseرَفِيقًاcompanion(s)69
ذَٰلِكَThatٱلْفَضْلُ(is) the BountyمِنَofٱللَّهِAllahوَكَفَىٰand sufficientبِٱللَّهِAllahعَلِيمًا(as) All-Knower70
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]خُذُوا۟Takeحِذْرَكُمْyour precautionsفَٱنفِرُوا۟and advanceثُبَاتٍ(in) groupsأَوِorٱنفِرُوا۟advanceجَمِيعًاall together71
وَإِنَّAnd indeedمِنكُمْamong youلَمَن(is he) whoلَّيُبَطِّئَنَّlags behindفَإِنْthen ifأَصَٰبَتْكُمbefalls youمُّصِيبَةٌa disasterقَالَhe saidقَدْVerilyأَنْعَمَ(has) favoredٱللَّهُAllahعَلَىَّ[on] meإِذْ[when]لَمْ(that) notأَكُنI wasمَّعَهُمْwith themشَهِيدًاpresent72
وَلَئِنْAnd ifأَصَٰبَكُمْbefalls youفَضْلٌbountyمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahلَيَقُولَنَّhe would surely sayكَأَنas ifلَّمْ(had) notتَكُنۢthere beenبَيْنَكُمْbetween youوَبَيْنَهُۥand between himمَوَدَّةٌany affectionيَٰلَيْتَنِىOh! I wishكُنتُI had beenمَعَهُمْwith themفَأَفُوزَthen I would have attainedفَوْزًاa successعَظِيمًاgreat73
فَلْيُقَٰتِلْSo let fightفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَشْرُونَsellٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِfor the HereafterوَمَنAnd whoeverيُقَٰتِلْfightsفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفَيُقْتَلْthen he is killedأَوْorيَغْلِبْachieves victoryفَسَوْفَthen soonنُؤْتِيهِWe will grant himأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاa great74
وَمَاAnd whatلَكُمْfor youلَا(that) notتُقَٰتِلُونَyou fightفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَand (for) those who are weakمِنَamongٱلرِّجَالِthe menوَٱلنِّسَآءِand the womenوَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِand the childrenٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَآOur Lordأَخْرِجْنَاtake us outمِنْofهَٰذِهِthisٱلْقَرْيَةِ[the] townٱلظَّالِمِ[the] oppressor(s)أَهْلُهَا(are) its peopleوَٱجْعَلand appointلَّنَاfor usمِنfromلَّدُنكَYourselfوَلِيًّاa protectorوَٱجْعَلand appointلَّنَاfor usمِنfromلَّدُنكَYourselfنَصِيرًاa helper75
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeيُقَٰتِلُونَthey fightفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَٱلَّذِينَand thoseكَفَرُوا۟who disbelieveيُقَٰتِلُونَthey fightفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱلطَّٰغُوتِ(of) the false deitiesفَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟So fight (against)أَوْلِيَآءَ(the) friendsٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ(of) the ShaitaanإِنَّIndeedكَيْدَ(the) strategyٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ(of) the Shaitaanكَانَisضَعِيفًاweak76
أَلَمْHave notتَرَyou seenإِلَى[towards]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoقِيلَ(when) it was saidلَهُمْto themكُفُّوٓا۟Restrainأَيْدِيَكُمْyour handsوَأَقِيمُوا۟and establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَءَاتُوا۟and giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahفَلَمَّاThen whenكُتِبَwas ordainedعَلَيْهِمُon themٱلْقِتَالُthe fightingإِذَاthenفَرِيقٌa groupمِّنْهُمْof themيَخْشَوْنَ[they] fearٱلنَّاسَthe peopleكَخَشْيَةِas (they) fearٱللَّهِAllahأَوْorأَشَدَّmore intenseخَشْيَةًfearوَقَالُوا۟and they saidرَبَّنَاOur Lordلِمَwhyكَتَبْتَhave You ordainedعَلَيْنَاupon usٱلْقِتَالَ[the] fightingلَوْلَآWhy notأَخَّرْتَنَآYou postpone (it for) usإِلَىٰٓtoأَجَلٍa termقَرِيبٍnearقُلْSayمَتَٰعُEnjoymentٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldقَلِيلٌ(is) littleوَٱلْءَاخِرَةُand the Hereafterخَيْرٌ(is) betterلِّمَنِfor whoeverٱتَّقَىٰfears (Allah)وَلَاand notتُظْلَمُونَyou will be wrongedفَتِيلًا(even as much as) a hair on a date-seed77
أَيْنَمَاWhereverتَكُونُوا۟you beيُدْرِككُّمُwill overtake youٱلْمَوْتُ[the] deathوَلَوْeven ifكُنتُمْyou areفِىinبُرُوجٍtowersمُّشَيَّدَةٍloftyوَإِنAnd ifتُصِبْهُمْbefalls themحَسَنَةٌany goodيَقُولُوا۟they sayهَٰذِهِۦThisمِنْ(is)عِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahوَإِنAnd ifتُصِبْهُمْbefalls themسَيِّئَةٌany evilيَقُولُوا۟they sayهَٰذِهِۦThisمِنْ(is)عِندِكَ(from) youقُلْSayكُلٌّAllمِّنْ(is)عِندِfromٱللَّهِAllahفَمَالِSo what (is wrong)هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ(with) theseٱلْقَوْمِ[the] peopleلَاnotيَكَادُونَdo they seemيَفْقَهُونَ(to) understandحَدِيثًاany statement78
مَّآWhat(ever)أَصَابَكَbefalls youمِنْofحَسَنَةٍ(the) goodفَمِنَ(is) fromٱللَّهِAllahوَمَآand whateverأَصَابَكَbefalls youمِنofسَيِّئَةٍ(the) evilفَمِن(is) fromنَّفْسِكَyourselfوَأَرْسَلْنَٰكَAnd We have sent youلِلنَّاسِfor the peopleرَسُولًا(as) a Messengerوَكَفَىٰand is sufficientبِٱللَّهِAllahشَهِيدًا(as) a Witness79
مَّن(He) whoيُطِعِobeysٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَقَدْthen surelyأَطَاعَhe obeyedٱللَّهَAllahوَمَنand whoeverتَوَلَّىٰturns away فَمَآthen notأَرْسَلْنَٰكَWe (have) sent youعَلَيْهِمْover themحَفِيظًا(as) a guardian80
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayطَاعَةٌ(We pledge) obedienceفَإِذَاThen whenبَرَزُوا۟they leaveمِنْfromعِندِكَyouبَيَّتَplan by nightطَآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنْهُمْof themغَيْرَother thanٱلَّذِىthat whichتَقُولُyou sayوَٱللَّهُBut Allahيَكْتُبُrecordsمَاwhatيُبَيِّتُونَthey plan by nightفَأَعْرِضْSo turn (away)عَنْهُمْfrom themوَتَوَكَّلْand put (your) trustعَلَىinٱللَّهِAllahوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficientبِٱللَّهِis Allahوَكِيلًا(as) a Trustee81
أَفَلَاThen (do) notيَتَدَبَّرُونَthey ponderٱلْقُرْءَانَ(on) the QuranوَلَوْAnd ifكَانَit had (been)مِنْ(of)عِندِfromغَيْرِother thanٱللَّهِAllahلَوَجَدُوا۟surely they (would have) foundفِيهِin itٱخْتِلَٰفًاcontradictionكَثِيرًاmuch82
وَإِذَاAnd whenجَآءَهُمْcomes to themأَمْرٌa matterمِّنَofٱلْأَمْنِthe securityأَوِorٱلْخَوْفِ[the] fearأَذَاعُوا۟they spreadبِهِۦ[with] itوَلَوْBut ifرَدُّوهُthey (had) referred itإِلَىtoٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerوَإِلَىٰٓand toأُو۟لِىthoseٱلْأَمْرِ(having) authorityمِنْهُمْamong themلَعَلِمَهُsurely would have known itٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥdraw correct conclusion (from) itمِنْهُمْamong themوَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(had been the) bountyٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His Mercyلَٱتَّبَعْتُمُsurely you (would have) followedٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe Shaitaanإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa few83
فَقَٰتِلْSo fightفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahلَاnotتُكَلَّفُare you responsibleإِلَّاexceptنَفْسَكَ(for) yourselfوَحَرِّضِAnd encourageٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersعَسَىperhapsٱللَّهُAllahأَنwillيَكُفَّrestrainبَأْسَ(the) mightٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahأَشَدُّ(is) Strongerبَأْسًا(in) Mightوَأَشَدُّand Strongerتَنكِيلًا(in) punishment84
مَّنWhoeverيَشْفَعْintercedes شَفَٰعَةًan intercessionحَسَنَةًgoodيَكُنwill haveلَّهُۥfor himنَصِيبٌa shareمِّنْهَاof itوَمَنand whoeverيَشْفَعْintercedes شَفَٰعَةًan intercessionسَيِّئَةًevilيَكُنwill haveلَّهُۥfor himكِفْلٌa portionمِّنْهَاof itوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahعَلَىٰonكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingمُّقِيتًاa Keeper85
وَإِذَاAnd whenحُيِّيتُمyou are greetedبِتَحِيَّةٍwith a greetingفَحَيُّوا۟then greetبِأَحْسَنَwith betterمِنْهَآthan itأَوْorرُدُّوهَآreturn itإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisعَلَىٰofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingحَسِيبًاan Accountant86
ٱللَّهُAllah لَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimلَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْsurely He will gather youإِلَىٰtoيَوْمِ(the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) Resurrection لَاnoرَيْبَdoubtفِيهِabout itوَمَنْAnd whoأَصْدَقُ(is) more truthfulمِنَthanٱللَّهِAllahحَدِيثًا(in) statement87
فَمَاSo whatلَكُمْ(is the matter) with youفِىconcerningٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocrites (that)فِئَتَيْنِ(you have become) two partiesوَٱللَّهُWhile Allahأَرْكَسَهُمcast them backبِمَاfor whatكَسَبُوٓا۟they earnedأَتُرِيدُونَDo you wishأَنthatتَهْدُوا۟you guideمَنْwhomأَضَلَّis let astrayٱللَّهُ(by) AllahوَمَنAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِis let astrayٱللَّهُ(by) Allahفَلَنthen neverتَجِدَwill you findلَهُۥfor himسَبِيلًاa way88
وَدُّوا۟They wishلَوْifتَكْفُرُونَyou disbelieveكَمَاasكَفَرُوا۟they disbelievedفَتَكُونُونَand you would beسَوَآءًalikeفَلَاSo (do) notتَتَّخِذُوا۟takeمِنْهُمْfrom themأَوْلِيَآءَalliesحَتَّىٰuntilيُهَاجِرُوا۟they emigrateفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) AllahفَإِنBut ifتَوَلَّوْا۟they turn backفَخُذُوهُمْseize themوَٱقْتُلُوهُمْand kill themحَيْثُwhereverوَجَدتُّمُوهُمْyou find themوَلَاAnd (do) notتَتَّخِذُوا۟takeمِنْهُمْfrom themوَلِيًّاany allyوَلَاand notنَصِيرًاany helper89
إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَصِلُونَjoinإِلَىٰ[to]قَوْمٍۢa groupبَيْنَكُمْbetween youوَبَيْنَهُمand between themمِّيثَٰقٌ(is) a treatyأَوْorجَآءُوكُمْthose who come to youحَصِرَتْrestrainingصُدُورُهُمْtheir heartsأَنthatيُقَٰتِلُوكُمْthey fight youأَوْorيُقَٰتِلُوا۟they fightقَوْمَهُمْtheir peopleوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَ(had) willedٱللَّهُAllahلَسَلَّطَهُمْsurely He (would have) given them powerعَلَيْكُمْover youفَلَقَٰتَلُوكُمْand surely they (would have) fought youفَإِنِSo ifٱعْتَزَلُوكُمْthey withdraw from youفَلَمْand (do) notيُقَٰتِلُوكُمْfight against youوَأَلْقَوْا۟and offerإِلَيْكُمُto youٱلسَّلَمَ[the] peaceفَمَاthen notجَعَلَ(has) madeٱللَّهُAllahلَكُمْfor youعَلَيْهِمْagainst themسَبِيلًاa way90
سَتَجِدُونَYou will findءَاخَرِينَothersيُرِيدُونَwishingأَنthatيَأْمَنُوكُمْthey be secure from youوَيَأْمَنُوا۟and they be secure fromقَوْمَهُمْtheir peopleكُلَّEverytimeمَاthatرُدُّوٓا۟they are returnedإِلَىtoٱلْفِتْنَةِthe temptationأُرْكِسُوا۟they are plungedفِيهَاinto itفَإِنSo ifلَّمْnotيَعْتَزِلُوكُمْthey withdraw from youوَيُلْقُوٓا۟and offerإِلَيْكُمُto youٱلسَّلَمَ[the] peaceوَيَكُفُّوٓا۟and they restrainأَيْدِيَهُمْtheir handsفَخُذُوهُمْthen seize themوَٱقْتُلُوهُمْand kill themحَيْثُwhereverثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْyou find themوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْAnd those جَعَلْنَاWe madeلَكُمْfor youعَلَيْهِمْagainst themسُلْطَٰنًاan authorityمُّبِينًاclear91
وَمَاAnd notكَانَisلِمُؤْمِنٍfor a believerأَنthatيَقْتُلَhe killsمُؤْمِنًاa believerإِلَّاexceptخَطَـًٔا(by) mistakeوَمَنAnd whoeverقَتَلَkilledمُؤْمِنًاa believerخَطَـًٔا(by) mistakeفَتَحْرِيرُthen freeingرَقَبَةٍ(of) a slaveمُّؤْمِنَةٍ believingوَدِيَةٌand blood moneyمُّسَلَّمَةٌ(is to be) paidإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِۦٓhis familyإِلَّآunlessأَنthatيَصَّدَّقُوا۟they remit (as) charityفَإِنBut ifكَانَ(he) wasمِنfromقَوْمٍa peopleعَدُوٍّhostileلَّكُمْto youوَهُوَand he wasمُؤْمِنٌa believerفَتَحْرِيرُthen freeingرَقَبَةٍ(of) a believing slaveمُّؤْمِنَةٍ believingوَإِنAnd ifكَانَ(he) wasمِنfromقَوْمٍۢa peopleبَيْنَكُمْbetween youوَبَيْنَهُمand between themمِّيثَٰقٌ(is) a treatyفَدِيَةٌthen blood moneyمُّسَلَّمَةٌ(is to be) paidإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِۦhis familyوَتَحْرِيرُand freeingرَقَبَةٍ(of) a slaveمُّؤْمِنَةٍ believingفَمَنAnd whoeverلَّمْ(does) notيَجِدْfindفَصِيَامُthen fastingشَهْرَيْنِ(for) two monthsمُتَتَابِعَيْنِconsecutivelyتَوْبَةً(seeking) repentanceمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَكَانَand isٱللَّهُAllahعَلِيمًاAll-KnowingحَكِيمًاAll-Wise92
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَقْتُلْkillsمُؤْمِنًاa believerمُّتَعَمِّدًاintentionallyفَجَزَآؤُهُۥthen his recompenseجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellخَٰلِدًاabiding foreverفِيهَاin itوَغَضِبَand will fall the wrathٱللَّهُ(of) Allahعَلَيْهِon himوَلَعَنَهُۥand He (will) curse himوَأَعَدَّand He has preparedلَهُۥfor himعَذَابًاa punishmentعَظِيمًاgreat93
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]إِذَاWhenضَرَبْتُمْyou go forthفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفَتَبَيَّنُوا۟then investigateوَلَاand (do) notتَقُولُوا۟sayلِمَنْto (the one) whoأَلْقَىٰٓoffersإِلَيْكُمُto youٱلسَّلَٰمَ(a greeting of) peaceلَسْتَYou are notمُؤْمِنًاa believerتَبْتَغُونَseekingعَرَضَtransitory gainsٱلْحَيَوٰةِ(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldفَعِندَfor withٱللَّهِAllahمَغَانِمُ(are) bootiesكَثِيرَةٌabundantكَذَٰلِكَLike thatكُنتُمyou wereمِّنfromقَبْلُbeforeفَمَنَّthen conferred favorٱللَّهُAllahعَلَيْكُمْupon youفَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟so investigateإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرًاAll-Aware94
لَّاNotيَسْتَوِى(are) equalٱلْقَٰعِدُونَthe ones who sitمِنَamongٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersغَيْرُother thanأُو۟لِىthe ones (who are)ٱلضَّرَرِ[the] disabledوَٱلْمُجَٰهِدُونَand the ones who striveفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahبِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْwith their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمْand their livesفَضَّلَPreferredٱللَّهُ(has) Allahٱلْمُجَٰهِدِينَthe ones who striveبِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْwith their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمْand their livesعَلَىtoٱلْقَٰعِدِينَthe ones who sitدَرَجَةً(in) rankوَكُلًّاAnd (to) allوَعَدَpromisedٱللَّهُ(has) Allahٱلْحُسْنَىٰthe bestوَفَضَّلَpreferredٱللَّهُ(has) Allahٱلْمُجَٰهِدِينَthe ones who striveعَلَىoverٱلْقَٰعِدِينَthe ones who sitأَجْرًا(with) a rewardعَظِيمًاgreat95
دَرَجَٰتٍRanksمِّنْهُfrom Himوَمَغْفِرَةًand forgivenessوَرَحْمَةًand mercyوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful96
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whom تَوَفَّىٰهُمُtake them (in death)ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsظَالِمِىٓ(while) they (were) wrongingأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesقَالُوا۟they sayفِيمَIn what (condition)كُنتُمْwere youقَالُوا۟They saidكُنَّاWe wereمُسْتَضْعَفِينَoppressedفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthقَالُوٓا۟They saidأَلَمْNotتَكُنْwasأَرْضُ(the) earthٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَٰسِعَةًspacious (enough)فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟so that you (could) emigrateفِيهَاin itفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThen thoseمَأْوَىٰهُمْ(will have) their abodeجَهَنَّمُ(in) Hell وَسَآءَتْand it is an evilمَصِيرًاdestination97
إِلَّاExceptٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَthe oppressedمِنَamongٱلرِّجَالِthe menوَٱلنِّسَآءِand the womenوَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِand the childrenلَا(who) notيَسْتَطِيعُونَare able toحِيلَةًplanوَلَاand notيَهْتَدُونَthey are directedسَبِيلًا(to) a way98
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThen thoseعَسَىmay beٱللَّهُAllahأَنwillيَعْفُوَpardonعَنْهُمْ[on] themوَكَانَand isٱللَّهُAllahعَفُوًّاOft-PardoningغَفُورًاOft-Forgiving99
وَمَنAnd whoeverيُهَاجِرْemigratesفِىinسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱللَّهِ(of) Allahيَجِدْwill findفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthمُرَٰغَمًاplace(s) of refuge كَثِيرًاmanyوَسَعَةًand abundanceوَمَنAnd whoeverيَخْرُجْleavesمِنۢfromبَيْتِهِۦhis homeمُهَاجِرًا(as) an emigrantإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerثُمَّthenيُدْرِكْهُovertakes himٱلْمَوْتُ[the] deathفَقَدْthen certainlyوَقَعَ(became) incumbentأَجْرُهُۥhis rewardعَلَىonٱللَّهِAllahوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful100
وَإِذَاAnd whenضَرَبْتُمْyou travelفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthفَلَيْسَthen notعَلَيْكُمْupon youجُنَاحٌ(is) any blameأَنthatتَقْصُرُوا۟you shortenمِنَ[of]ٱلصَّلَوٰةِthe prayerإِنْifخِفْتُمْyou fearأَنthatيَفْتِنَكُمُ(may) harm youٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelievedإِنَّIndeedٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversكَانُوا۟areلَكُمْfor youعَدُوًّاan enemyمُّبِينًاopen101
وَإِذَاAnd whenكُنتَyou areفِيهِمْamong themفَأَقَمْتَand you leadلَهُمُfor themٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerفَلْتَقُمْthen let standطَآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنْهُمof themمَّعَكَwith youوَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟and let them takeأَسْلِحَتَهُمْtheir armsفَإِذَاThen whenسَجَدُوا۟they have prostratedفَلْيَكُونُوا۟then let them beمِنfromوَرَآئِكُمْbehind youوَلْتَأْتِand let come (forward)طَآئِفَةٌa group أُخْرَىٰotherلَمْ(which has) notيُصَلُّوا۟prayedفَلْيُصَلُّوا۟and let them prayمَعَكَwith youوَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟and let them takeحِذْرَهُمْtheir precautionsوَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْand their armsوَدَّWishedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedلَوْifتَغْفُلُونَyou neglectعَنْ[about]أَسْلِحَتِكُمْyour armsوَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْand your baggageفَيَمِيلُونَso (that) they (can) assaultعَلَيْكُم[upon] youمَّيْلَةً(in) an attackوَٰحِدَةًsingleوَلَاBut (there is) noجُنَاحَblameعَلَيْكُمْupon youإِنifكَانَwasبِكُمْwith youأَذًىany troubleمِّن(because) ofمَّطَرٍrainأَوْorكُنتُمyou areمَّرْضَىٰٓsickأَنthatتَضَعُوٓا۟you lay downأَسْلِحَتَكُمْyour armsوَخُذُوا۟but takeحِذْرَكُمْyour precautionsإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahأَعَدَّhas preparedلِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversعَذَابًاa punishmentمُّهِينًاhumiliating102
فَإِذَاThen whenقَضَيْتُمُyou (have) finishedٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerفَٱذْكُرُوا۟then rememberٱللَّهَAllahقِيَٰمًاstandingوَقُعُودًاand sittingوَعَلَىٰand (lying) onجُنُوبِكُمْyour sidesفَإِذَاBut whenٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْyou are secureفَأَقِيمُوا۟then establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe (regular) prayerإِنَّIndeedٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerكَانَتْisعَلَىonٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersكِتَٰبًاprescribedمَّوْقُوتًا(at) fixed times103
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَهِنُوا۟be weakفِىinٱبْتِغَآءِpursuitٱلْقَوْمِ(of) the peopleإِنIfتَكُونُوا۟you areتَأْلَمُونَsufferingفَإِنَّهُمْthen indeed, theyيَأْلَمُونَare (also) sufferingكَمَاlike whatتَأْلَمُونَyou are sufferingوَتَرْجُونَwhile you (have) hopeمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotيَرْجُونَthey hopeوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahعَلِيمًاAll-KnowingحَكِيمًاAll-Wise104
إِنَّآIndeedأَنزَلْنَآWe (have) sent downإِلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthلِتَحْكُمَso that you may judgeبَيْنَbetweenٱلنَّاسِthe peopleبِمَآwith whatأَرَىٰكَhas shown youٱللَّهُAllahوَلَاAnd (do) notتَكُنbeلِّلْخَآئِنِينَfor the deceitfulخَصِيمًاa pleader105
وَٱسْتَغْفِرِAnd seek forgivenessٱللَّهَ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful106
وَلَاAnd (do) notتُجَٰدِلْargueعَنِforٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَخْتَانُونَdeceiveأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُحِبُّloveمَن(the one) whoكَانَisخَوَّانًاtreacherousأَثِيمًا(and) sinful107
يَسْتَخْفُونَThey seek to hideمِنَfromٱلنَّاسِthe peopleوَلَاbut notيَسْتَخْفُونَ(can) they hideمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahوَهُوَand Heمَعَهُمْ(is) with themإِذْwhenيُبَيِّتُونَthey plot by nightمَاwhatلَاnotيَرْضَىٰ(does) he approveمِنَofٱلْقَوْلِthe wordوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahبِمَاof whatيَعْمَلُونَthey do مُحِيطًاAll-Encompassing108
هَٰٓأَنتُمْHere you are هَٰٓؤُلَآءِthose whoجَٰدَلْتُمْ[you] argueعَنْهُمْfor themفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldفَمَنbut whoيُجَٰدِلُwill argueٱللَّهَ(with) Allahعَنْهُمْfor themيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) [the] Resurrectionأَمorمَّنwhoيَكُونُwill beعَلَيْهِمْ[over them]وَكِيلًا(their) defender109
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَعْمَلْdoesسُوٓءًاevilأَوْorيَظْلِمْwrongsنَفْسَهُۥhis soulثُمَّthenيَسْتَغْفِرِseeks forgivenessٱللَّهَ(of) Allahيَجِدِhe will findٱللَّهَAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful110
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَكْسِبْearnsإِثْمًاsinفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyيَكْسِبُهُۥhe earns itعَلَىٰagainstنَفْسِهِۦhis soulوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahعَلِيمًاAll-KnowingحَكِيمًاAll-Wise111
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَكْسِبْearnsخَطِيٓـَٔةًa faultأَوْorإِثْمًاa sinثُمَّthenيَرْمِthrowsبِهِۦitبَرِيٓـًٔا(on) an innocentفَقَدِthen surelyٱحْتَمَلَhe (has) burdened (himself)بُهْتَٰنًا(with) a slanderوَإِثْمًاand a sinمُّبِينًاmanifest112
وَلَوْلَاAnd if notفَضْلُ(for the) Graceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكَupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥand His Mercy لَهَمَّتsurely (had) resolvedطَّآئِفَةٌa groupمِّنْهُمْof themأَنtoيُضِلُّوكَmislead youوَمَاBut notيُضِلُّونَthey misleadإِلَّآexceptأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesوَمَاand notيَضُرُّونَكَthey will harm youمِنinشَىْءٍanythingوَأَنزَلَAnd has sent downٱللَّهُAllahعَلَيْكَto youٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookوَٱلْحِكْمَةَand [the] Wisdomوَعَلَّمَكَand taught youمَاwhatلَمْnotتَكُنyou didتَعْلَمُknowوَكَانَAnd isفَضْلُ(the) Graceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahعَلَيْكَupon youعَظِيمًاgreat113
لَّا(There is) noخَيْرَgoodفِىinكَثِيرٍmuchمِّنofنَّجْوَىٰهُمْtheir secret talkإِلَّاexceptمَنْ(he) whoأَمَرَordersبِصَدَقَةٍcharityأَوْorمَعْرُوفٍkindnessأَوْorإِصْلَٰحٍۢconciliationبَيْنَbetweenٱلنَّاسِthe peopleوَمَنAnd whoيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatٱبْتِغَآءَseekingمَرْضَاتِpleasureٱللَّهِ(of) Allahفَسَوْفَthen soonنُؤْتِيهِWe will give himأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاgreat114
وَمَنAnd whoeverيُشَاقِقِopposesٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterمَاwhatتَبَيَّنَ(has) become clearلَهُto himٱلْهُدَىٰ(of) the guidanceوَيَتَّبِعْand he followsغَيْرَother thanسَبِيلِ(the) wayٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believersنُوَلِّهِۦWe will turn himمَا(to) whatتَوَلَّىٰhe (has) turnedوَنُصْلِهِۦand We will burn himجَهَنَّمَ(in) Hellوَسَآءَتْand evil it isمَصِيرًا(as) a destination115
إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَاdoes notيَغْفِرُforgiveأَنthatيُشْرَكَpartners be associatedبِهِۦwith Himوَيَغْفِرُbut He forgivesمَا[what]دُونَother thanذَٰلِكَthatلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَمَنAnd whoeverيُشْرِكْassociates partnersبِٱللَّهِwith Allahفَقَدْthen surelyضَلَّhe lost (the) wayضَلَٰلًۢاstrayingبَعِيدًاfar away116
إِنNotيَدْعُونَthey invokeمِنfromدُونِهِۦٓbesides Himإِلَّآbutإِنَٰثًاfemale (deities)وَإِنand notيَدْعُونَthey invokeإِلَّاexceptشَيْطَٰنًاShaitaan مَّرِيدًاrebellious117
لَّعَنَهُHe was cursedٱللَّهُby Allahوَقَالَand he saidلَأَتَّخِذَنَّI will surely takeمِنْfromعِبَادِكَyour slavesنَصِيبًاa portionمَّفْرُوضًاappointed118
وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْAnd I will surely mislead themوَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْand surely arouse desires in themوَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْand surely I will order themفَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّso they will surely cut offءَاذَانَ(the) earsٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ(of) the cattleوَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْand surely I will order themفَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّso they will surely changeخَلْقَ(the) creationٱللَّهِ(of) AllahوَمَنAnd whoeverيَتَّخِذِtakesٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe Shaitaanوَلِيًّا(as) a friendمِّنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahفَقَدْthen surelyخَسِرَhe (has) lost خُسْرَانًاa lossمُّبِينًاmanifest119
يَعِدُهُمْHe promises themوَيُمَنِّيهِمْand arouses desires in themوَمَاand notيَعِدُهُمُpromises themٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaan إِلَّاexceptغُرُورًاdeception120
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose مَأْوَىٰهُمْtheir abodeجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellوَلَاand notيَجِدُونَthey will findعَنْهَاfrom itمَحِيصًاany escape121
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]وَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ[the] righteous deedsسَنُدْخِلُهُمْWe will admit themجَنَّٰتٍ(in) Gardensتَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversخَٰلِدِينَwill abideفِيهَآin itأَبَدًاforeverوَعْدَA Promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahحَقًّا(in) truthوَمَنْand whoأَصْدَقُ(is) truerمِنَthanٱللَّهِAllahقِيلًا(in) statement122
لَّيْسَNotبِأَمَانِيِّكُمْby your desireوَلَآand notأَمَانِىِّ(by the) desireأَهْلِ(of the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the BookمَنWhoeverيَعْمَلْdoesسُوٓءًاevilيُجْزَwill be recompensedبِهِۦfor itوَلَاand notيَجِدْhe will findلَهُۥfor himمِنfromدُونِbesidesٱللَّهِAllahوَلِيًّاany protectorوَلَاand notنَصِيرًاany helper123
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَعْمَلْdoesمِنَ[of]ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ[the] righteous deedsمِنfromذَكَرٍ(the) maleأَوْorأُنثَىٰfemaleوَهُوَand heمُؤْمِنٌ(is) a believerفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseيَدْخُلُونَwill enterٱلْجَنَّةَParadiseوَلَاand notيُظْلَمُونَthey will be wrongedنَقِيرًا(even as much as) the speck on a date-seed124
وَمَنْAnd whoأَحْسَنُ(is) betterدِينًا(in) religionمِّمَّنْthan (one) whoأَسْلَمَsubmitsوَجْهَهُۥhis faceلِلَّهِto Allahوَهُوَand heمُحْسِنٌ(is) a good-doerوَٱتَّبَعَand followsمِلَّةَ(the) religionإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahimحَنِيفًا(the) uprightوَٱتَّخَذَAnd was takenٱللَّهُ(by) AllahإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahimخَلِيلًا(as) a friend125
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahمَا(is) whatفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whatفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَكَانَand isٱللَّهُAllahبِكُلِّof everyشَىْءٍthingمُّحِيطًاAll-Encompassing126
وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَAnd they seek your rulingفِىconcerningٱلنِّسَآءِthe womenقُلِSayٱللَّهُAllahيُفْتِيكُمْgives you the rulingفِيهِنَّabout themوَمَاand whatيُتْلَىٰis recitedعَلَيْكُمْto youفِىinٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookفِىconcerningيَتَٰمَىorphansٱلنِّسَآءِ(of) girlsٱلَّٰتِى(to) whomلَاnotتُؤْتُونَهُنَّ(do) you give themمَاwhatكُتِبَis ordainedلَهُنَّfor themوَتَرْغَبُونَand you desireأَنtoتَنكِحُوهُنَّmarry themوَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَand the ones who are weakمِنَofٱلْوِلْدَٰنِthe childrenوَأَنand toتَقُومُوا۟standلِلْيَتَٰمَىٰfor orphansبِٱلْقِسْطِwith justiceوَمَاAnd whateverتَفْعَلُوا۟you doمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِهِۦabout itعَلِيمًاAll-Knowing127
وَإِنِAnd ifٱمْرَأَةٌa womanخَافَتْfearsمِنۢfromبَعْلِهَاher husbandنُشُوزًاill-conductأَوْorإِعْرَاضًاdesertionفَلَاthen (there is) noجُنَاحَsinعَلَيْهِمَآon both of themأَنthatيُصْلِحَاthey make terms of peaceبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themselves صُلْحًاa reconciliationوَٱلصُّلْحُand [the] reconciliationخَيْرٌ(is) bestوَأُحْضِرَتِAnd are swayedٱلْأَنفُسُthe soulsٱلشُّحَّ(by) greedوَإِنBut ifتُحْسِنُوا۟you do goodوَتَتَّقُوا۟and fear (Allah)فَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرًاAll-Aware128
وَلَنAnd neverتَسْتَطِيعُوٓا۟will you be ableأَنtoتَعْدِلُوا۟deal justlyبَيْنَbetweenٱلنِّسَآءِ[the] womenوَلَوْeven ifحَرَصْتُمْyou desiredفَلَاbut (do) notتَمِيلُوا۟inclineكُلَّ(with) allٱلْمَيْلِthe inclinationفَتَذَرُوهَاand leave her (the other)كَٱلْمُعَلَّقَةِlike the suspended oneوَإِنAnd ifتُصْلِحُوا۟you reconcileوَتَتَّقُوا۟and fear (Allah)فَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful129
وَإِنAnd ifيَتَفَرَّقَاthey separateيُغْنِwill be enrichedٱللَّهُ(by) Allahكُلًّاeach (of them)مِّنfromسَعَتِهِۦHis abundanceوَكَانَand isٱللَّهُAllahوَٰسِعًاAll-EncompassingحَكِيمًاAll-Wise130
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahمَا(is) whateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَقَدْAnd surelyوَصَّيْنَاWe have instructedٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookمِنfromقَبْلِكُمْbefore youوَإِيَّاكُمْand yourselvesأَنِthatٱتَّقُوا۟you fearٱللَّهَAllahوَإِنBut ifتَكْفُرُوا۟you disbelieve فَإِنَّthen indeedلِلَّهِfor Allahمَا(is) whateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَنِيًّاFree of needحَمِيدًاPraiseworthy131
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahمَا(is) whateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَكَفَىٰAnd is sufficientبِٱللَّهِAllahوَكِيلًا(as) a Disposer of affairs132
إِنIfيَشَأْHe willsيُذْهِبْكُمْHe can take you awayأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّاسُpeopleوَيَأْتِand bringبِـَٔاخَرِينَothersوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahعَلَىٰoverذَٰلِكَthatقَدِيرًاAll-Powerful133
مَّنWhoeverكَانَ[is]يُرِيدُdesiresثَوَابَrewardٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world فَعِندَthen withٱللَّهِAllahثَوَابُ(is the) rewardٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the HereafterوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahسَمِيعًۢاAll-HearingبَصِيرًاAll-Seeing134
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]كُونُوا۟Beقَوَّٰمِينَcustodiansبِٱلْقِسْطِof justiceشُهَدَآءَ(as) witnessesلِلَّهِto Allahوَلَوْeven ifعَلَىٰٓ(it is) againstأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesأَوِorٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِthe parentsوَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَand the relativesإِنifيَكُنْhe beغَنِيًّاrichأَوْorفَقِيرًاpoorفَٱللَّهُfor Allahأَوْلَىٰ(is) nearerبِهِمَاto both of themفَلَاSo (do) notتَتَّبِعُوا۟followٱلْهَوَىٰٓthe desireأَنlestتَعْدِلُوا۟you deviateوَإِنAnd ifتَلْوُۥٓا۟you distortأَوْorتُعْرِضُوا۟refrainفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahكَانَisبِمَاof whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doخَبِيرًاAll-Aware135
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوٓا۟believe[d]ءَامِنُوا۟Believeبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerوَٱلْكِتَٰبِand the BookٱلَّذِىwhichنَزَّلَHe revealedعَلَىٰuponرَسُولِهِۦHis Messengerوَٱلْكِتَٰبِand the BookٱلَّذِىٓwhichأَنزَلَHe revealedمِنfromقَبْلُbeforeوَمَنAnd whoeverيَكْفُرْdisbelievesبِٱللَّهِin Allahوَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦand His Angelsوَكُتُبِهِۦand His Booksوَرُسُلِهِۦand His Messengersوَٱلْيَوْمِand the Dayٱلْءَاخِرِthe Lastفَقَدْthen surelyضَلَّhe (has) lost (the) wayضَلَٰلًۢاstrayingبَعِيدًاfar away136
إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedثُمَّthenكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedثُمَّthenءَامَنُوا۟(again) believedثُمَّthenكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedثُمَّthenٱزْدَادُوا۟increasedكُفْرًا(in) disbelief لَّمْnotيَكُنِwillٱللَّهُAllahلِيَغْفِرَforgiveلَهُمْ[for] themوَلَاand notلِيَهْدِيَهُمْwill guide themسَبِيلًۢا(to) a (right) way137
بَشِّرِGive tidingsٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ(to) the hypocritesبِأَنَّthatلَهُمْfor themعَذَابًا(is) a punishmentأَلِيمًاpainful 138
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَتَّخِذُونَtakeٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) alliesمِن(from)دُونِinstead ofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersأَيَبْتَغُونَDo they seekعِندَهُمُwith themٱلْعِزَّةَthe honorفَإِنَّBut indeedٱلْعِزَّةَthe honorلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahجَمِيعًاall139
وَقَدْAnd surelyنَزَّلَHe has revealedعَلَيْكُمْto youفِىinٱلْكِتَٰبِthe Bookأَنْthatإِذَاwhenسَمِعْتُمْyou hearءَايَٰتِ(the) Versesٱللَّهِ(of) Allahيُكْفَرُbeing rejectedبِهَا[it]وَيُسْتَهْزَأُand ridiculedبِهَاat [it]فَلَاthen do notتَقْعُدُوا۟sitمَعَهُمْwith themحَتَّىٰuntilيَخُوضُوا۟they engageفِىinحَدِيثٍa conversationغَيْرِهِۦٓother than thatإِنَّكُمْIndeed, youإِذًاthenمِّثْلُهُمْ(would be) like themإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahجَامِعُwill gatherٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesوَٱلْكَٰفِرِينَand the disbelieversفِىinجَهَنَّمَHellجَمِيعًاall together140
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَتَرَبَّصُونَare waitingبِكُمْfor youفَإِنThen ifكَانَwasلَكُمْfor youفَتْحٌa victoryمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahقَالُوٓا۟they sayأَلَمْWere notنَكُنweمَّعَكُمْwith youوَإِنBut ifكَانَ(there) wasلِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversنَصِيبٌa chanceقَالُوٓا۟they saidأَلَمْDid notنَسْتَحْوِذْwe have advantageعَلَيْكُمْover youوَنَمْنَعْكُمand we protected youمِّنَfromٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersفَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَحْكُمُwill judgeبَيْنَكُمْbetween youيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionوَلَنand neverيَجْعَلَwill makeٱللَّهُAllahلِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversعَلَىoverٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersسَبِيلًاa way141
إِنَّIndeedٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesيُخَٰدِعُونَ(seek to) deceiveٱللَّهَAllahوَهُوَand (it is) Heخَٰدِعُهُمْwho deceives themوَإِذَاAnd whenقَامُوٓا۟they standإِلَىforٱلصَّلَوٰةِthe prayerقَامُوا۟they standكُسَالَىٰlazilyيُرَآءُونَshowing offٱلنَّاسَ(to) the peopleوَلَاand notيَذْكُرُونَthey rememberٱللَّهَAllahإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa little142
مُّذَبْذَبِينَWaveringبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthatلَآnotإِلَىٰtoهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseوَلَآand notإِلَىٰtoهَٰٓؤُلَآءِthoseوَمَنAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِhas been lead astrayٱللَّهُ(by) Allah فَلَنthen neverتَجِدَyou will findلَهُۥfor himسَبِيلًاa way143
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاO youٱلَّذِينَwhoءَامَنُوا۟believe[d]لَا(Do) notتَتَّخِذُوا۟takeٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) alliesمِنfromدُونِinstead ofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersأَتُرِيدُونَDo you wishأَنthatتَجْعَلُوا۟you makeلِلَّهِfor Allahعَلَيْكُمْagainst youسُلْطَٰنًاan evidenceمُّبِينًاclear144
إِنَّIndeedٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesفِى(will be) inٱلدَّرْكِthe depthsٱلْأَسْفَلِthe lowestمِنَofٱلنَّارِthe Fireوَلَنand neverتَجِدَyou will findلَهُمْfor themنَصِيرًاany helper145
إِلَّاExceptٱلَّذِينَthose whoتَابُوا۟repentوَأَصْلَحُوا۟and correct (themselves)وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟and hold fastبِٱللَّهِto Allahوَأَخْلَصُوا۟and are sincereدِينَهُمْ(in) their religionلِلَّهِfor Allahفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen those (will be)مَعَwithٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersوَسَوْفَAnd soonيُؤْتِwill be givenٱللَّهُ(by) Allahٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersأَجْرًاa rewardعَظِيمًاgreat146
مَّاWhatيَفْعَلُwould doٱللَّهُAllahبِعَذَابِكُمْby punishing youإِنifشَكَرْتُمْyou are gratefulوَءَامَنتُمْand you believeوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahشَاكِرًاAll-AppreciativeعَلِيمًاAll-Knowing147
