وَمَآAnd notأُبَرِّئُI absolveنَفْسِىٓmyselfإِنَّIndeedٱلنَّفْسَthe soulلَأَمَّارَةٌۢ(is) a certain enjoinerبِٱلسُّوٓءِof evilإِلَّاunlessمَا[that]رَحِمَbestows Mercyرَبِّىٓmy LordإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordغَفُورٌ(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful53
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلْمَلِكُthe kingٱئْتُونِىBring him to meبِهِۦٓBring him to meأَسْتَخْلِصْهُI will select himلِنَفْسِىfor myselfفَلَمَّاThen whenكَلَّمَهُۥhe spoke to himقَالَhe saidإِنَّكَIndeed, youٱلْيَوْمَ(are) todayلَدَيْنَاwith usمَكِينٌfirmly establishedأَمِينٌ(and) trusted54
قَالَHe saidٱجْعَلْنِىAppoint meعَلَىٰoverخَزَآئِنِ(the) treasuriesٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the landإِنِّىIndeed, Iحَفِيظٌ(will be) a guardianعَلِيمٌknowing55
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusمَكَّنَّاWe establishedلِيُوسُفَ[to] Yusufفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe landيَتَبَوَّأُto settleمِنْهَاthereinحَيْثُwhere everيَشَآءُhe willedنُصِيبُWe bestowبِرَحْمَتِنَاOur Mercyمَن(on) whomنَّشَآءُWe willوَلَاAnd notنُضِيعُWe let go wasteأَجْرَ(the) rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ(of) the good-doers56
وَلَأَجْرُAnd surely (the) rewardٱلْءَاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterخَيْرٌ(is) betterلِّلَّذِينَfor those whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَكَانُوا۟and areيَتَّقُونَGod conscious57
وَجَآءَAnd cameإِخْوَةُ(the) brothersيُوسُفَ(of) Yusufفَدَخَلُوا۟and they enteredعَلَيْهِupon himفَعَرَفَهُمْand he recognized themوَهُمْbut theyلَهُۥknew him notمُنكِرُونَknew him not58
وَلَمَّاAnd whenجَهَّزَهُمhe had furnished themبِجَهَازِهِمْwith their suppliesقَالَhe saidٱئْتُونِىBring to meبِأَخٍa brotherلَّكُمof yoursمِّنْfromأَبِيكُمْyour fatherأَلَاDo notتَرَوْنَyou seeأَنِّىٓthat Iأُوفِى[I] give fullٱلْكَيْلَ[the] measureوَأَنَاand that I amخَيْرُ(the) bestٱلْمُنزِلِينَ(of) the hosts59
فَإِنBut ifلَّمْnotتَأْتُونِىyou bring him to meبِهِۦyou bring him to meفَلَاthen (there will be) noكَيْلَmeasureلَكُمْfor youعِندِىfrom meوَلَاand notتَقْرَبُونِyou will come near me60
قَالُوا۟They saidسَنُرَٰوِدُWe will try to get permissionعَنْهُfor himأَبَاهُ(from) his fatherوَإِنَّاand indeed weلَفَٰعِلُونَsurely will do61
وَقَالَAnd he saidلِفِتْيَٰنِهِto his servantsٱجْعَلُوا۟Putبِضَٰعَتَهُمْtheir merchandiseفِىinرِحَالِهِمْtheir saddlebagsلَعَلَّهُمْso that theyيَعْرِفُونَهَآmay recognize itإِذَاwhenٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟they go backإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِمْtheir peopleلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَreturn62
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَجَعُوٓا۟they returnedإِلَىٰٓtoأَبِيهِمْtheir fatherقَالُوا۟they saidيَٰٓأَبَانَاO our fatherمُنِعَHas been deniedمِنَّاto usٱلْكَيْلُthe measureفَأَرْسِلْso sendمَعَنَآwith usأَخَانَاour brotherنَكْتَلْ(that) we will get measureوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, weلَهُۥfor himلَحَٰفِظُونَ(will) surely (be) guardians63
قَالَHe saidهَلْShouldءَامَنُكُمْI entrust youعَلَيْهِwith himإِلَّاexceptكَمَآasأَمِنتُكُمْI entrusted youعَلَىٰٓwithأَخِيهِhis brotherمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeفَٱللَّهُBut Allahخَيْرٌ(is) the bestحَٰفِظًاGuardianوَهُوَand Heأَرْحَمُ(is the) Most Mercifulٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ(of) the merciful64
وَلَمَّاAnd whenفَتَحُوا۟they openedمَتَٰعَهُمْtheir baggageوَجَدُوا۟they foundبِضَٰعَتَهُمْtheir merchandiseرُدَّتْreturnedإِلَيْهِمْto themقَالُوا۟They saidيَٰٓأَبَانَاO our fatherمَاWhatنَبْغِى(could) we desireهَٰذِهِۦThisبِضَٰعَتُنَا(is) our merchandiseرُدَّتْreturnedإِلَيْنَاto usوَنَمِيرُAnd we will get provisionأَهْلَنَا(for) our familyوَنَحْفَظُand we will protectأَخَانَاour brotherوَنَزْدَادُand get an increaseكَيْلَmeasureبَعِيرٍ(of) a camel's (load)ذَٰلِكَThatكَيْلٌ(is) a measurementيَسِيرٌeasy65
قَالَHe saidلَنْNeverأُرْسِلَهُۥwill I send himمَعَكُمْwith youحَتَّىٰuntilتُؤْتُونِyou give to meمَوْثِقًاa promiseمِّنَbyٱللَّهِAllahلَتَأْتُنَّنِىthat surely you will bring him to meبِهِۦٓthat surely you will bring him to meإِلَّآunlessأَنthatيُحَاطَyou are surroundedبِكُمْyou are surroundedفَلَمَّآAnd whenءَاتَوْهُthey had given himمَوْثِقَهُمْtheir promiseقَالَhe saidٱللَّهُAllahعَلَىٰoverمَاwhatنَقُولُwe sayوَكِيلٌ(is) a Guardian66
وَقَالَAnd he saidيَٰبَنِىَّO my sonsلَا(Do) notتَدْخُلُوا۟enterمِنۢfromبَابٍone gateوَٰحِدٍone gateوَٱدْخُلُوا۟but enterمِنْfromأَبْوَٰبٍgatesمُّتَفَرِّقَةٍdifferentوَمَآAnd notأُغْنِىI can availعَنكُمyouمِّنَagainstٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyشَىْءٍthingإِنِNotٱلْحُكْمُ(is) the decisionإِلَّاexceptلِلَّهِwith Allahعَلَيْهِupon HimتَوَكَّلْتُI put my trustوَعَلَيْهِand upon Himفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِlet put (their) trustٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَthe ones who put trust67
وَلَمَّاAnd whenدَخَلُوا۟they enteredمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereأَمَرَهُمْordered themأَبُوهُمtheir fatherمَّاnotكَانَitيُغْنِىavail(ed)عَنْهُمthemمِّنَagainstٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyشَىْءٍthingإِلَّاbutحَاجَةً(it was) a needفِىofنَفْسِYaqub's soulيَعْقُوبَYaqub's soulقَضَىٰهَاwhich he carried outوَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, heلَذُو(was) a possessorعِلْمٍ(of) knowledgeلِّمَاbecauseعَلَّمْنَٰهُWe had taught himوَلَٰكِنَّbutأَكْثَرَmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَknow68
وَلَمَّاAnd whenدَخَلُوا۟they enteredعَلَىٰuponيُوسُفَYusufءَاوَىٰٓhe tookإِلَيْهِto himselfأَخَاهُhis brotherقَالَHe saidإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iأَنَا[I] amأَخُوكَyour brotherفَلَاso (do) notتَبْتَئِسْgrieveبِمَاfor whatكَانُوا۟they used (to)يَعْمَلُونَdo69
فَلَمَّاSo whenجَهَّزَهُمhe had furnished themبِجَهَازِهِمْwith their suppliesجَعَلَhe putٱلسِّقَايَةَthe drinking cupفِىinرَحْلِthe bagأَخِيهِ(of) his brotherثُمَّThenأَذَّنَcalled outمُؤَذِّنٌan announcerأَيَّتُهَاO youٱلْعِيرُ(in) the caravanإِنَّكُمْIndeed, youلَسَٰرِقُونَsurely (are) thieves70
قَالُوا۟They saidنَفْقِدُWe are missingصُوَاعَ(the) cupٱلْمَلِكِ(of) the kingوَلِمَنAnd for (one) whoجَآءَbringsبِهِۦitحِمْلُ(is) a loadبَعِيرٍ(of) a camelوَأَنَاand Iبِهِۦfor itزَعِيمٌ(is) responsible72
قَالُوا۟They saidتَٱللَّهِBy Allahلَقَدْcertainlyعَلِمْتُمyou knowمَّاnotجِئْنَاwe cameلِنُفْسِدَthat we cause corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe landوَمَاand notكُنَّاwe areسَٰرِقِينَthieves73
قَالُوا۟They saidفَمَاThen whatجَزَٰٓؤُهُۥٓ(will be the) recompense (of) itإِنifكُنتُمْyou areكَٰذِبِينَliars74
قَالُوا۟They saidجَزَٰٓؤُهُۥIts recompenseمَن(is that one) whoوُجِدَit is foundفِىinرَحْلِهِۦhis bagفَهُوَthen heجَزَٰٓؤُهُۥ(will be) his recompenseكَذَٰلِكَThusنَجْزِى(do) we recompenseٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers75
فَبَدَأَSo he beganبِأَوْعِيَتِهِمْwith their bagsقَبْلَbeforeوِعَآءِ(the) bagأَخِيهِ(of) his brotherثُمَّthenٱسْتَخْرَجَهَاhe brought it outمِنfromوِعَآءِ(the) bagأَخِيهِ(of) his brotherكَذَٰلِكَThusكِدْنَا(did) We planلِيُوسُفَfor YusufمَاHe could notكَانَHe could notلِيَأْخُذَtakeأَخَاهُhis brotherفِىbyدِينِthe lawٱلْمَلِكِ(of) the kingإِلَّآexceptأَنthatيَشَآءَAllah willedٱللَّهُAllah willedنَرْفَعُWe raiseدَرَجَٰتٍ(in) degreesمَّنwhomنَّشَآءُWe willوَفَوْقَbut overكُلِّeveryذِىpossessorعِلْمٍ(of) knowledgeعَلِيمٌ(is) the All-Knower76
قَالُوٓا۟They saidإِنIfيَسْرِقْhe steals فَقَدْthen verilyسَرَقَstoleأَخٌa brotherلَّهُۥof hisمِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeفَأَسَرَّهَاBut Yusuf kept it secretيُوسُفُBut Yusuf kept it secretفِىwithinنَفْسِهِۦhimselfوَلَمْand (did) notيُبْدِهَاreveal itلَهُمْto themقَالَHe saidأَنتُمْYouشَرٌّ(are the) worseمَّكَانًا(in) positionوَٱللَّهُand Allahأَعْلَمُknows bestبِمَاof whatتَصِفُونَyou describe77
قَالُوا۟They saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاOٱلْعَزِيزُAzizإِنَّIndeedلَهُۥٓhe hasأَبًاa fatherشَيْخًاoldكَبِيرًا[great]فَخُذْso takeأَحَدَنَاone of usمَكَانَهُۥٓ(in) his placeإِنَّاIndeed, weنَرَىٰكَ[we] see youمِنَofٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doers78
قَالَHe saidمَعَاذَAllah forbidٱللَّهِAllah forbidأَنthatنَّأْخُذَwe takeإِلَّاexceptمَن(one) whoوَجَدْنَاwe foundمَتَٰعَنَاour possessionعِندَهُۥٓwith himإِنَّآIndeed, weإِذًاthenلَّظَٰلِمُونَsurely (would be) wrongdoers79
فَلَمَّاSo whenٱسْتَيْـَٔسُوا۟they despairedمِنْهُof himخَلَصُوا۟they secluded themselvesنَجِيًّا(in) private consultationقَالَSaidكَبِيرُهُمْthe eldest among themأَلَمْDo notتَعْلَمُوٓا۟you knowأَنَّthatأَبَاكُمْyour fatherقَدْhas takenأَخَذَhas takenعَلَيْكُمupon youمَّوْثِقًاa promiseمِّنَbyٱللَّهِAllahوَمِنand beforeقَبْلُand beforeمَاthatفَرَّطتُمْyou failedفِىconcerningيُوسُفَYusufفَلَنْSo neverأَبْرَحَwill I leaveٱلْأَرْضَthe landحَتَّىٰuntilيَأْذَنَpermitsلِىٓmeأَبِىٓmy fatherأَوْorيَحْكُمَAllah decidesٱللَّهُAllah decidesلِىfor meوَهُوَand Heخَيْرُ(is) the Bestٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ(of) the judges80
ٱرْجِعُوٓا۟Returnإِلَىٰٓtoأَبِيكُمْyour fatherفَقُولُوا۟and sayيَٰٓأَبَانَآ'O our fatherإِنَّIndeedٱبْنَكَyour sonسَرَقَhas stolenوَمَاand notشَهِدْنَآwe testifyإِلَّاexceptبِمَاof whatعَلِمْنَاwe knewوَمَاAnd notكُنَّاwe wereلِلْغَيْبِof the unseenحَٰفِظِينَguardians81
وَسْـَٔلِAnd askٱلْقَرْيَةَthe townٱلَّتِىwhereكُنَّاwe wereفِيهَا[in it]وَٱلْعِيرَand the caravanٱلَّتِىٓwhichأَقْبَلْنَاwe returnedفِيهَا[in it]وَإِنَّاAnd indeed, weلَصَٰدِقُونَsurely (are) truthful.'82
قَالَHe saidبَلْNayسَوَّلَتْhave enticedلَكُمْyouأَنفُسُكُمْyour soulsأَمْرًاsomethingفَصَبْرٌso patienceجَمِيلٌ(is) beautifulعَسَىPerhapsٱللَّهُAllahأَنwill bring them to meيَأْتِيَنِىwill bring them to meبِهِمْwill bring them to meجَمِيعًاallإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeهُوَHeٱلْعَلِيمُ(is) the All-KnowerٱلْحَكِيمُAll-Wise83
وَتَوَلَّىٰAnd he turned awayعَنْهُمْfrom themوَقَالَand saidيَٰٓأَسَفَىٰAlas, my griefعَلَىٰoverيُوسُفَYusufوَٱبْيَضَّتْAnd became whiteعَيْنَاهُhis eyesمِنَfromٱلْحُزْنِthe griefفَهُوَand he (was)كَظِيمٌa suppressor84
قَالُوا۟They saidتَٱللَّهِBy Allahتَفْتَؤُا۟you will not ceaseتَذْكُرُrememberingيُوسُفَYusufحَتَّىٰuntilتَكُونَyou becomeحَرَضًاfatally illأَوْorتَكُونَbecomeمِنَofٱلْهَٰلِكِينَthose who perish85
قَالَHe saidإِنَّمَآOnlyأَشْكُوا۟I complainبَثِّى(of) my sufferingوَحُزْنِىٓand my griefإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahوَأَعْلَمُand I knowمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know86
يَٰبَنِىَّO my sonsٱذْهَبُوا۟Goفَتَحَسَّسُوا۟and inquireمِنaboutيُوسُفَYusufوَأَخِيهِand his brotherوَلَاand notتَا۟يْـَٔسُوا۟despairمِنofرَّوْحِ(the) Mercy of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) Mercy of AllahإِنَّهُۥIndeedلَاnoneيَا۟يْـَٔسُdespairsمِنofرَّوْحِ(the) Mercy of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) Mercy of Allahإِلَّاexceptٱلْقَوْمُthe peopleٱلْكَٰفِرُونَthe disbelievers87
فَلَمَّاSo whenدَخَلُوا۟they enteredعَلَيْهِupon himقَالُوا۟they saidيَٰٓأَيُّهَاO AzizٱلْعَزِيزُO AzizمَسَّنَاHas touched usوَأَهْلَنَاand our familyٱلضُّرُّthe adversityوَجِئْنَاand we have comeبِبِضَٰعَةٍwith goodsمُّزْجَىٰةٍ(of) little valueفَأَوْفِbut pay (in) fullلَنَاto usٱلْكَيْلَthe measureوَتَصَدَّقْand be charitableعَلَيْنَآto usإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيَجْزِىrewardsٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَthe charitable88
قَالَHe saidهَلْDoعَلِمْتُمyou knowمَّاwhatفَعَلْتُمyou didبِيُوسُفَwith Yusufوَأَخِيهِand his brotherإِذْwhenأَنتُمْyou wereجَٰهِلُونَignorant89
قَالُوٓا۟They saidأَءِنَّكَAre you indeedلَأَنتَsurely youيُوسُفُYusufقَالَHe saidأَنَاI amيُوسُفُYusufوَهَٰذَآand thisأَخِى(is) my brotherقَدْIndeedمَنَّAllah has been graciousٱللَّهُAllah has been graciousعَلَيْنَآto usإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heمَنwhoيَتَّقِfears Allahوَيَصْبِرْand (is) patientفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُضِيعُlet go wasteأَجْرَ(the) rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ(of) the good-doers90
قَالُوا۟They saidتَٱللَّهِBy AllahلَقَدْcertainlyءَاثَرَكَAllah has preferred youٱللَّهُAllah has preferred youعَلَيْنَاover usوَإِنand indeedكُنَّاwe have beenلَخَٰطِـِٔينَsinners91
قَالَHe saidلَاNoتَثْرِيبَblameعَلَيْكُمُupon youٱلْيَوْمَtodayيَغْفِرُAllah will forgiveٱللَّهُAllah will forgiveلَكُمْyouوَهُوَand Heأَرْحَمُ(is) the Most Mercifulٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ(of) those who show mercy92
ٱذْهَبُوا۟Goبِقَمِيصِىwith this shirt of mineهَٰذَاwith this shirt of mineفَأَلْقُوهُand cast itعَلَىٰoverوَجْهِ(the) faceأَبِى(of) my fatherيَأْتِhe will regain sightبَصِيرًاhe will regain sightوَأْتُونِىAnd bring to meبِأَهْلِكُمْyour familyأَجْمَعِينَall together93
وَلَمَّاAnd whenفَصَلَتِdepartedٱلْعِيرُthe caravanقَالَtheir father saidأَبُوهُمْtheir father saidإِنِّىIndeed, Iلَأَجِدُ[I] findرِيحَ(the) smellيُوسُفَ(of) Yusufلَوْلَآif notأَنthatتُفَنِّدُونِyou think me weakened in mind94
قَالُوا۟They saidتَٱللَّهِBy Allahإِنَّكَindeed, youلَفِىsurely (are) inضَلَٰلِكَyour errorٱلْقَدِيمِold95
فَلَمَّآThen whenأَن[that]جَآءَarrivedٱلْبَشِيرُthe bearer of glad tidingsأَلْقَىٰهُhe cast itعَلَىٰoverوَجْهِهِۦhis faceفَٱرْتَدَّthen returned (his) sightبَصِيرًاthen returned (his) sightقَالَHe saidأَلَمْDid notأَقُلI sayلَّكُمْto youإِنِّىٓindeed, Iأَعْلَمُ[I] knowمِنَfromٱللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know96
قَالُوا۟They saidيَٰٓأَبَانَاO our fatherٱسْتَغْفِرْAsk forgivenessلَنَاfor usذُنُوبَنَآ(of) our sinsإِنَّاIndeed, weكُنَّاhave beenخَٰطِـِٔينَsinners97
قَالَHe saidسَوْفَSoonأَسْتَغْفِرُI will ask forgivenessلَكُمْfor youرَبِّىٓ(from) my LordإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeهُوَHeٱلْغَفُورُ(is) the Oft-Forgivingٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful98
فَلَمَّاThen whenدَخَلُوا۟they enteredعَلَىٰuponيُوسُفَYusufءَاوَىٰٓhe tookإِلَيْهِto himselfأَبَوَيْهِhis parentsوَقَالَand saidٱدْخُلُوا۟EnterمِصْرَEgyptإِنifشَآءَAllah willsٱللَّهُAllah willsءَامِنِينَsafe99
وَرَفَعَAnd he raisedأَبَوَيْهِhis parentsعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe throneوَخَرُّوا۟and they fell downلَهُۥto himسُجَّدًاprostrateوَقَالَAnd he saidيَٰٓأَبَتِO my fatherهَٰذَاThisتَأْوِيلُ(is the) interpretationرُءْيَٰىَ(of) my dreamمِن(of) beforeقَبْلُ(of) beforeقَدْVerilyجَعَلَهَاhas made itرَبِّىmy LordحَقًّاtrueوَقَدْAnd indeedأَحْسَنَHe was goodبِىٓto meإِذْwhenأَخْرَجَنِىHe took me outمِنَofٱلسِّجْنِthe prisonوَجَآءَand broughtبِكُمyouمِّنَfromٱلْبَدْوِthe bedouin lifeمِنۢafterبَعْدِafterأَن[that]نَّزَغَhad caused discordٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanبَيْنِىbetween meوَبَيْنَand betweenإِخْوَتِىٓmy brothersإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordلَطِيفٌ(is) Most Subtleلِّمَاto whatيَشَآءُHe willsإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeهُوَHeٱلْعَلِيمُ(is) the All-Knowerٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise100
رَبِّMy Lordقَدْindeedءَاتَيْتَنِىyou have given meمِنَofٱلْمُلْكِthe sovereigntyوَعَلَّمْتَنِىand taught meمِنofتَأْوِيلِthe interpretationٱلْأَحَادِيثِof the eventsفَاطِرَCreatorٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthأَنتَYouوَلِىِّۦ(are) my Protectorفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَٱلْءَاخِرَةِand the HereafterتَوَفَّنِىCause me to dieمُسْلِمًا(as) a Muslimوَأَلْحِقْنِىand join meبِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَwith the righteous101
ذَٰلِكَThatمِنْ(is) fromأَنۢبَآءِthe newsٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenنُوحِيهِwhich We revealإِلَيْكَto youوَمَاAnd notكُنتَyou wereلَدَيْهِمْwith themإِذْwhenأَجْمَعُوٓا۟they put togetherأَمْرَهُمْtheir planوَهُمْwhile theyيَمْكُرُونَ(were) plotting102
وَمَآAnd notأَكْثَرُmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the mankindوَلَوْeven thoughحَرَصْتَyou desireبِمُؤْمِنِينَ(will be) believers103
وَمَاAnd notتَسْـَٔلُهُمْyou ask themعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍrewardإِنْNotهُوَ(is) itإِلَّاbutذِكْرٌa reminderلِّلْعَٰلَمِينَto the worlds104
وَكَأَيِّنAnd how manyمِّنْofءَايَةٍa Signفِىinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthيَمُرُّونَthey passعَلَيْهَاover itوَهُمْwhile theyعَنْهَا(are) from themمُعْرِضُونَthe ones who turn away105
وَمَاAnd notيُؤْمِنُbelieveأَكْثَرُهُمmost of themبِٱللَّهِin Allahإِلَّاexceptوَهُمwhile theyمُّشْرِكُونَassociate partners with Him106
أَفَأَمِنُوٓا۟Do they then feel secureأَن(against) thatتَأْتِيَهُمْcomes to themغَٰشِيَةٌan overwhelmingمِّنْ[of]عَذَابِpunishmentٱللَّهِ(of) Allahأَوْorتَأْتِيَهُمُcomes to themٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourبَغْتَةًsuddenlyوَهُمْwhile theyلَا(do) notيَشْعُرُونَperceive107
قُلْSayهَٰذِهِۦThisسَبِيلِىٓ(is) my wayأَدْعُوٓا۟I inviteإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahعَلَىٰwithبَصِيرَةٍinsightأَنَاIوَمَنِand whoeverٱتَّبَعَنِىfollows meوَسُبْحَٰنَAnd Glory beٱللَّهِ(to) Allahوَمَآand notأَنَاI amمِنَofٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists108
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنbefore youقَبْلِكَbefore youإِلَّاbutرِجَالًاmenنُّوحِىٓWe revealedإِلَيْهِمto themمِّنْfrom (among)أَهْلِ(the) peopleٱلْقُرَىٰٓ(of) the townshipsأَفَلَمْSo have notيَسِيرُوا۟they traveledفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthفَيَنظُرُوا۟and seenكَيْفَhowكَانَwasعَٰقِبَةُ(the) endٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoمِن(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ(were) before themوَلَدَارُAnd surely the homeٱلْءَاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterخَيْرٌ(is) bestلِّلَّذِينَfor those whoٱتَّقَوْا۟fear AllahأَفَلَاThen will notتَعْقِلُونَyou use reason109
حَتَّىٰٓUntilإِذَاwhenٱسْتَيْـَٔسَgave up hopeٱلرُّسُلُthe Messengersوَظَنُّوٓا۟and thoughtأَنَّهُمْthat theyقَدْcertainlyكُذِبُوا۟were deniedجَآءَهُمْthen came to themنَصْرُنَاOur helpفَنُجِّىَand was savedمَنwhomنَّشَآءُWe willedوَلَاAnd notيُرَدُّ(can) be repelledبَأْسُنَاOur punishmentعَنِfromٱلْقَوْمِthe peopleٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(who are) criminals110
لَقَدْVerilyكَانَ(there) isفِىinقَصَصِهِمْtheir storiesعِبْرَةٌa lessonلِّأُو۟لِىfor menٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ(of) understandingمَاNotكَانَ(it) isحَدِيثًاa narrationيُفْتَرَىٰinventedوَلَٰكِنbutتَصْدِيقَa confirmationٱلَّذِى(of that) whichبَيْنَ(was) before itيَدَيْهِ(was) before itوَتَفْصِيلَand a detailed explanationكُلِّ(of) allشَىْءٍthingsوَهُدًىand a guidanceوَرَحْمَةًand mercyلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believe111

الٓمٓرAlif Laam Mim RaتِلْكَTheseءَايَٰتُ(are) the Versesٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the BookوَٱلَّذِىٓAnd that whichأُنزِلَhas been revealedإِلَيْكَto youمِنfromرَّبِّكَyour Lordٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truthوَلَٰكِنَّbutأَكْثَرَmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the mankindلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve1
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoرَفَعَraisedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensبِغَيْرِwithoutعَمَدٍpillarsتَرَوْنَهَاthat you seeثُمَّthenٱسْتَوَىٰHe establishedعَلَىonٱلْعَرْشِthe Throneوَسَخَّرَand subjectedٱلشَّمْسَthe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonكُلٌّeachيَجْرِىrunningلِأَجَلٍfor a termمُّسَمًّىappointedيُدَبِّرُHe arrangesٱلْأَمْرَthe matterيُفَصِّلُHe detailsٱلْءَايَٰتِthe Signsلَعَلَّكُمso that you mayبِلِقَآءِin the meetingرَبِّكُمْ(with) your Lordتُوقِنُونَbelieve with certainty2
وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoمَدَّspreadٱلْأَرْضَthe earthوَجَعَلَand placedفِيهَاin itرَوَٰسِىَfirm mountainsوَأَنْهَٰرًاand riversوَمِنand fromكُلِّallٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ(of) the fruitsجَعَلَHe madeفِيهَاin itزَوْجَيْنِpairsٱثْنَيْنِtwoيُغْشِىHe coversٱلَّيْلَthe nightٱلنَّهَارَ(with) the dayإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَwho ponder3
وَفِىAnd inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthقِطَعٌare tracksمُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٌneighboringوَجَنَّٰتٌand gardensمِّنْofأَعْنَٰبٍgrapevinesوَزَرْعٌand cropsوَنَخِيلٌand date-palmsصِنْوَانٌtrees (growing) from a single rootوَغَيْرُand notصِنْوَانٍtrees (growing) from a single rootيُسْقَىٰwateredبِمَآءٍwith waterوَٰحِدٍoneوَنُفَضِّلُbut We cause to exceedبَعْضَهَاsome of themعَلَىٰoverبَعْضٍothersفِىinٱلْأُكُلِthe fruitإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَwho use reason4
وَإِنAnd ifتَعْجَبْyou (are) astonishedفَعَجَبٌthen astonishingقَوْلُهُمْ(is) their sayingأَءِذَاWhenكُنَّاwe areتُرَٰبًاdustأَءِنَّاwill weلَفِى(be) indeed, inخَلْقٍa creationجَدِيدٍnewأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedبِرَبِّهِمْin their Lordوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَand thoseٱلْأَغْلَٰلُthe iron chainsفِىٓ(will be) inأَعْنَاقِهِمْtheir necksوَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fireهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَٰلِدُونَ(will) abide forever5
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَAnd they ask you to hastenبِٱلسَّيِّئَةِthe evilقَبْلَbeforeٱلْحَسَنَةِthe goodوَقَدْand verilyخَلَتْhas occurredمِنfromقَبْلِهِمُbefore themٱلْمَثُلَٰتُ[the] similar punishmentsوَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَذُو(is) fullمَغْفِرَةٍ(of) forgivenessلِّلنَّاسِfor mankindعَلَىٰforظُلْمِهِمْtheir wrongdoingوَإِنَّand indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordلَشَدِيدُ(is) severeٱلْعِقَابِ(in) the penalty6
وَيَقُولُAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَhas been sent downعَلَيْهِto himءَايَةٌa signمِّنfromرَّبِّهِۦٓhis LordإِنَّمَآOnlyأَنتَyouمُنذِرٌ(are) a warnerوَلِكُلِّand for everyقَوْمٍpeopleهَادٍ(is) a guide7
ٱللَّهُAllahيَعْلَمُknowsمَاwhatتَحْمِلُcarriesكُلُّeveryأُنثَىٰfemaleوَمَاand whatتَغِيضُfall shortٱلْأَرْحَامُthe wombوَمَاand whatتَزْدَادُthey exceedوَكُلُّAnd everyشَىْءٍthingعِندَهُۥwith Himبِمِقْدَارٍ(is) in due proportion8
عَٰلِمُKnowerٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenوَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِand the witnessedٱلْكَبِيرُthe Most Greatٱلْمُتَعَالِthe Most High9
سَوَآءٌ(It is) same (to Him)مِّنكُم[of you]مَّنْ(one) whoأَسَرَّconcealsٱلْقَوْلَthe speechوَمَنor (one) whoجَهَرَpublicizesبِهِۦitوَمَنْand (one) whoهُوَ[he]مُسْتَخْفٍۢ(is) hiddenبِٱلَّيْلِby nightوَسَارِبٌۢor goes freelyبِٱلنَّهَارِby day10
لَهُۥFor himمُعَقِّبَٰتٌ(are) successive (Angels)مِّنۢfromبَيْنِ(before)يَدَيْهِ(him)وَمِنْand fromخَلْفِهِۦand behind himيَحْفَظُونَهُۥwho guard himمِنْbyأَمْرِ(the) commandٱللَّهِ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(does) notيُغَيِّرُchangeمَا(the condition)بِقَوْمٍof a peopleحَتَّىٰuntilيُغَيِّرُوا۟they changeمَاwhatبِأَنفُسِهِمْ(is) in themselvesوَإِذَآAnd whenأَرَادَwillsٱللَّهُAllahبِقَوْمٍfor a peopleسُوٓءًاmisfortuneفَلَاthen (there is) noمَرَدَّturning awayلَهُۥof itوَمَاand notلَهُمfor themمِّنfromدُونِهِۦbesides Himمِنanyوَالٍprotector11
هُوَHeٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoيُرِيكُمُshows youٱلْبَرْقَthe lightningخَوْفًاa fearوَطَمَعًاand a hopeوَيُنشِئُand brings upٱلسَّحَابَthe cloudsٱلثِّقَالَthe heavy12
وَيُسَبِّحُAnd glorifiesٱلرَّعْدُthe thunderبِحَمْدِهِۦwith his praise وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُand the Angelsمِنْforخِيفَتِهِۦfear of HimوَيُرْسِلُAnd He sendsٱلصَّوَٰعِقَthe thunderboltsفَيُصِيبُand strikesبِهَاwith itمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَهُمْyet theyيُجَٰدِلُونَdisputeفِىaboutٱللَّهِAllahوَهُوَAnd Heشَدِيدُ(is) Mightyٱلْمِحَالِ(in) Strength13
لَهُۥTo Himدَعْوَةُ(is) supplicationٱلْحَقِّ(of) the truthوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whomيَدْعُونَthey invokeمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦbesides Himلَاnotيَسْتَجِيبُونَthey respondلَهُمto themبِشَىْءٍwith a thingإِلَّاexceptكَبَٰسِطِlike one who stretchesكَفَّيْهِhis handsإِلَىtowardsٱلْمَآءِwaterلِيَبْلُغَto reachفَاهُhis mouthوَمَاbut notهُوَitبِبَٰلِغِهِۦreaches itوَمَاAnd notدُعَآءُ(is) the supplicationٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ(of) the disbelieversإِلَّاbutفِىinضَلَٰلٍerror14
وَلِلَّهِAnd to Allahيَسْجُدُprostratesمَنwhoeverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthطَوْعًاwillinglyوَكَرْهًاor unwillinglyوَظِلَٰلُهُمand (so do) their shadowsبِٱلْغُدُوِّin the morningsوَٱلْءَاصَالِand in the afternoons15
قُلْSayمَنWhoرَّبُّ(is) the Lordٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthقُلِSayٱللَّهُAllahقُلْSayأَفَٱتَّخَذْتُمHave you then takenمِّنfromدُونِهِۦٓbesides Himأَوْلِيَآءَprotectorsلَاnotيَمْلِكُونَthey have powerلِأَنفُسِهِمْfor themselvesنَفْعًا(to) benefitوَلَاand notضَرًّا(to) harmقُلْSayهَلْIsيَسْتَوِىequalٱلْأَعْمَىٰthe blindوَٱلْبَصِيرُand the seeingأَمْOrهَلْisتَسْتَوِىequalٱلظُّلُمَٰتُthe darkness[es]وَٱلنُّورُand the lightأَمْOrجَعَلُوا۟they attributeلِلَّهِto Allahشُرَكَآءَpartnersخَلَقُوا۟who createdكَخَلْقِهِۦlike His creationفَتَشَٰبَهَso that seemed alikeٱلْخَلْقُthe creationعَلَيْهِمْto themقُلِSayٱللَّهُAllahخَٰلِقُ(is) the Creatorكُلِّof allشَىْءٍthingsوَهُوَand Heٱلْوَٰحِدُ(is) the Oneٱلْقَهَّٰرُthe Irresistible16
أَنزَلَHe sends downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَسَالَتْand flowsأَوْدِيَةٌۢthe valleysبِقَدَرِهَاaccording to their measureفَٱحْتَمَلَand carriesٱلسَّيْلُthe torrentزَبَدًاa foamرَّابِيًاrisingوَمِمَّاAnd from whatيُوقِدُونَthey heatعَلَيْهِ[on] itفِىinٱلنَّارِthe fireٱبْتِغَآءَin order to makeحِلْيَةٍornamentsأَوْorمَتَٰعٍutensilsزَبَدٌa foamمِّثْلُهُۥlike itكَذَٰلِكَThusيَضْرِبُsets forthٱللَّهُAllahٱلْحَقَّthe truthوَٱلْبَٰطِلَand the falsehoodفَأَمَّاThen as forٱلزَّبَدُthe foamفَيَذْهَبُit passes awayجُفَآءً(as) scumوَأَمَّاand as forمَاwhatيَنفَعُbenefitsٱلنَّاسَthe mankindفَيَمْكُثُremainsفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthكَذَٰلِكَThusيَضْرِبُAllah sets forthٱللَّهُAllah sets forthٱلْأَمْثَالَthe examples17
لِلَّذِينَFor those whoٱسْتَجَابُوا۟respondedلِرَبِّهِمُto their Lordٱلْحُسْنَىٰ(is) the blissوَٱلَّذِينَAnd for those whoلَمْ(did) notيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟respondلَهُۥto Himلَوْifأَنَّthatلَهُمthey hadمَّاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthجَمِيعًاallوَمِثْلَهُۥand like of itمَعَهُۥwith itلَٱفْتَدَوْا۟surely they would offer ransomبِهِۦٓwith itأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseلَهُمْfor themسُوٓءُ(is) a terribleٱلْحِسَابِreckoningوَمَأْوَىٰهُمْand their abodeجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellوَبِئْسَand wretchedٱلْمِهَادُ(is) the resting place18
أَفَمَنThen is (he) whoيَعْلَمُknowsأَنَّمَآthat whichأُنزِلَhas been revealedإِلَيْكَto youمِنfromرَّبِّكَyour Lordٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truthكَمَنْlike (one) whoهُوَ[he]أَعْمَىٰٓ(is) blindإِنَّمَاOnlyيَتَذَكَّرُpay heedأُو۟لُوا۟menٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ(of) understanding19
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُوفُونَfulfillبِعَهْدِthe covenantٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَلَاand notيَنقُضُونَthey breakٱلْمِيثَٰقَthe contract20
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَصِلُونَjoinمَآwhatأَمَرَ(has been) commandedٱللَّهُ(by) Allahبِهِۦٓ[for it]أَنtoيُوصَلَbe joinedوَيَخْشَوْنَand fearرَبَّهُمْtheir Lordوَيَخَافُونَand are afraidسُوٓءَ(of) the evilٱلْحِسَابِthe account21
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoصَبَرُوا۟(are) patientٱبْتِغَآءَseekingوَجْهِ(the) Faceرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordوَأَقَامُوا۟and establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَأَنفَقُوا۟and spendمِمَّاfrom whatرَزَقْنَٰهُمْWe have provided themسِرًّاsecretlyوَعَلَانِيَةًand publiclyوَيَدْرَءُونَand they repelبِٱلْحَسَنَةِwith the goodٱلسَّيِّئَةَthe evil أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseلَهُمْfor themعُقْبَى(is) the final attainmentٱلدَّارِ(of) the Home 22
جَنَّٰتُGardensعَدْنٍof Edenيَدْخُلُونَهَاthey will enter themوَمَنand whoeverصَلَحَ(were) righteousمِنْamongءَابَآئِهِمْtheir fathersوَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْand their spousesوَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْand their offspringsوَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُAnd the Angelsيَدْخُلُونَwill enterعَلَيْهِمupon themمِّنfromكُلِّeveryبَابٍgate23
سَلَٰمٌ(Saying), "Peaceعَلَيْكُم(be) upon youبِمَاfor whatصَبَرْتُمْyou patiently enduredفَنِعْمَAnd excellentعُقْبَى(is) the final attainmentٱلدَّارِ(of) the Home24
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَنقُضُونَbreakعَهْدَthe covenantٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterمِيثَٰقِهِۦcontracting itوَيَقْطَعُونَand severمَآwhatأَمَرَ(has been) commandedٱللَّهُ(by) Allahبِهِۦٓfor itأَنtoيُوصَلَbe joinedوَيُفْسِدُونَand spread corruptionفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose لَهُمُfor themٱللَّعْنَةُ(is) the curseوَلَهُمْand for themسُوٓءُ(is) an evilٱلدَّارِhome25
ٱللَّهُAllahيَبْسُطُextendsٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionلِمَنfor whomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَقْدِرُand restrictsوَفَرِحُوا۟And they rejoiceبِٱلْحَيَوٰةِin the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَمَاand nothingٱلْحَيَوٰةُ(is) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَاof the worldفِىin (comparison to)ٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterإِلَّاexceptمَتَٰعٌan enjoyment26
وَيَقُولُAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedلَوْلَآWhy has notأُنزِلَbeen sent downعَلَيْهِupon himءَايَةٌa Signمِّنfromرَّبِّهِۦhis LordقُلْSayإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahيُضِلُّlets go astrayمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَهْدِىٓand guidesإِلَيْهِto Himselfمَنْwhoeverأَنَابَturns back27
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedوَتَطْمَئِنُّand find satisfactionقُلُوبُهُمtheir heartsبِذِكْرِin the remembranceٱللَّهِ(of) AllahأَلَاNo doubtبِذِكْرِin the remembranceٱللَّهِ(of) Allahتَطْمَئِنُّfind satisfactionٱلْقُلُوبُthe hearts28
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedوَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsطُوبَىٰblessednessلَهُمْ(is) for themوَحُسْنُand a beautifulمَـَٔابٍplace of return29
كَذَٰلِكَThusأَرْسَلْنَٰكَWe have sent youفِىٓtoأُمَّةٍa nationقَدْverilyخَلَتْhave passed awayمِنfromقَبْلِهَآbefore itأُمَمٌnationsلِّتَتْلُوَا۟so that you might reciteعَلَيْهِمُto themٱلَّذِىٓwhatأَوْحَيْنَآWe revealedإِلَيْكَto youوَهُمْwhile theyيَكْفُرُونَdisbelieveبِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِin the Most GraciousقُلْSayهُوَHeرَبِّى(is) my Lordلَآ(there is) noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHimعَلَيْهِUpon HimتَوَكَّلْتُI put my trustوَإِلَيْهِand to Himمَتَابِ(is) my return30
وَلَوْAnd ifأَنَّthat wasقُرْءَانًاany Quranسُيِّرَتْcould be movedبِهِby itٱلْجِبَالُthe mountainsأَوْorقُطِّعَتْcould be cloven asunderبِهِby itٱلْأَرْضُthe earthأَوْorكُلِّمَcould be made to speakبِهِby itٱلْمَوْتَىٰthe deadبَلNayلِّلَّهِwith Allahٱلْأَمْرُ(is) the commandجَمِيعًاallأَفَلَمْThen do notيَا۟يْـَٔسِknowٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوٓا۟believeأَنthatلَّوْifيَشَآءُhad willedٱللَّهُAllahلَهَدَىsurely, He would have guidedٱلنَّاسَallجَمِيعًاall of the mankindوَلَاAnd notيَزَالُwill ceaseٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveتُصِيبُهُمto strike themبِمَاfor whatصَنَعُوا۟they didقَارِعَةٌa disasterأَوْorتَحُلُّit settlesقَرِيبًاcloseمِّنfromدَارِهِمْtheir homesحَتَّىٰuntilيَأْتِىَcomesوَعْدُ(the) promiseٱللَّهِ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahلَا(will) notيُخْلِفُfailٱلْمِيعَادَ(in) the Promise31
وَلَقَدِAnd certainlyٱسْتُهْزِئَwere mockedبِرُسُلٍMessengersمِّنfromقَبْلِكَbefore youفَأَمْلَيْتُbut I granted respiteلِلَّذِينَto those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedثُمَّthenأَخَذْتُهُمْI seized themفَكَيْفَand howكَانَwasعِقَابِMy penalty32
أَفَمَنْIs then He Whoهُوَ(He)قَآئِمٌ(is) a Maintainerعَلَىٰofكُلِّeveryنَفْسٍۢsoulبِمَاfor whatكَسَبَتْit has earnedوَجَعَلُوا۟Yet they ascribeلِلَّهِto AllahشُرَكَآءَpartnersقُلْSayسَمُّوهُمْName themأَمْOrتُنَبِّـُٔونَهُۥ(do) you inform Himبِمَاof whatلَاnotيَعْلَمُHe knowsفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthأَمorبِظَٰهِرٍof the apparentمِّنَofٱلْقَوْلِthe wordsبَلْNayزُيِّنَ(is) made fair-seemingلِلَّذِينَto those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveمَكْرُهُمْtheir plottingوَصُدُّوا۟and they are hinderedعَنِfromٱلسَّبِيلِthe PathوَمَنAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِ(by) AllahٱللَّهُAllah lets go astrayفَمَاthen notلَهُۥfor himمِنْanyهَادٍguide33
لَّهُمْFor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَلَعَذَابُand surely the punishmentٱلْءَاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterأَشَقُّ(is) harderوَمَاAnd notلَهُمfor themمِّنَagainstٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyوَاقٍdefender34
مَّثَلُThe exampleٱلْجَنَّةِof Paradiseٱلَّتِىwhichوُعِدَ(is) promisedٱلْمُتَّقُونَ(to) the righteousتَجْرِىflowsمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversأُكُلُهَاIts foodدَآئِمٌ(is) everlastingوَظِلُّهَاand its shadeتِلْكَThisعُقْبَى(is the) endٱلَّذِينَof those whoٱتَّقَوا۟(are) righteousوَّعُقْبَىand (the) endٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ(of) the disbelieversٱلنَّارُ(is) the Fire35
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those (to) whomءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُWe have given themٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookيَفْرَحُونَrejoiceبِمَآat whatأُنزِلَhas been revealedإِلَيْكَto youوَمِنَbut amongٱلْأَحْزَابِthe groupsمَن(those) whoيُنكِرُdenyبَعْضَهُۥa part of itقُلْSayإِنَّمَآOnlyأُمِرْتُI have been commandedأَنْthatأَعْبُدَI worshipٱللَّهَAllahوَلَآand notأُشْرِكَI associate partnersبِهِۦٓwith HimإِلَيْهِTo Himأَدْعُوا۟I callوَإِلَيْهِand to Himمَـَٔابِ(is) my return36
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusأَنزَلْنَٰهُWe have revealed itحُكْمًا(to be) a judgment of authorityعَرَبِيًّا(in) ArabicوَلَئِنِAnd ifٱتَّبَعْتَyou followأَهْوَآءَهُمtheir desiresبَعْدَمَاafter whatجَآءَكَcame to youمِنَofٱلْعِلْمِthe knowledgeمَاnotلَكَfor youمِنَagainstٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyوَلِىٍّprotectorوَلَاand notوَاقٍdefender37
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentرُسُلًاMessengersمِّنfromقَبْلِكَbefore youوَجَعَلْنَاand We madeلَهُمْfor themأَزْوَٰجًاwivesوَذُرِّيَّةًand offspringوَمَاAnd notكَانَwasلِرَسُولٍfor a Messengerأَنthatيَأْتِىَhe comesبِـَٔايَةٍwith a signإِلَّاexceptبِإِذْنِby the leaveٱللَّهِ(of) AllahلِكُلِّFor everythingأَجَلٍ(is) a timeكِتَابٌprescribed38
يَمْحُوا۟(Is) eliminatedٱللَّهُ(by) AllahمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe willsوَيُثْبِتُand confirmsوَعِندَهُۥٓand with Himأُمُّ(is) the Mother (of) the Bookٱلْكِتَٰبِ(is) the Mother (of) the Book39
وَإِنAnd whetherمَّا(what)نُرِيَنَّكَWe show youبَعْضَa partٱلَّذِى(of) whatنَعِدُهُمْWe have promised themأَوْorنَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَWe cause you to dieفَإِنَّمَاso onlyعَلَيْكَon youٱلْبَلَٰغُ(is) the conveyanceوَعَلَيْنَاand on Usٱلْحِسَابُ(is) the reckoning40
أَوَلَمْDid notيَرَوْا۟they seeأَنَّاthat Weنَأْتِىcomeٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the landنَنقُصُهَاreducing itمِنْfromأَطْرَافِهَاits bordersوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahيَحْكُمُjudgesلَا(there is) noمُعَقِّبَadjusterلِحُكْمِهِۦ(of) His JudgmentوَهُوَAnd Heسَرِيعُ(is) Swiftٱلْحِسَابِ(in) the reckoning41
وَقَدْAnd certainlyمَكَرَplottedٱلَّذِينَthose whoمِن(were) fromقَبْلِهِمْbefore themفَلِلَّهِbut for Allahٱلْمَكْرُ(is) the plotجَمِيعًاallيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatتَكْسِبُearnsكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulوَسَيَعْلَمُand will knowٱلْكُفَّٰرُthe disbelieversلِمَنْfor whomعُقْبَى(is) the finalٱلدَّارِthe home42
وَيَقُولُAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَسْتَYou are notمُرْسَلًاa MessengerقُلْSayكَفَىٰSufficientبِٱللَّهِ(is) Allahشَهِيدًۢا(as) a Witnessبَيْنِىbetween meوَبَيْنَكُمْand between youوَمَنْand whoeverعِندَهُۥ[he] hasعِلْمُknowledgeٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Book43

الٓرAlif Laam RaكِتَٰبٌA Bookأَنزَلْنَٰهُwhich We have revealedإِلَيْكَto youلِتُخْرِجَso that you may bring outٱلنَّاسَthe mankindمِنَfromٱلظُّلُمَٰتِthe darkness[es]إِلَىtoٱلنُّورِthe lightبِإِذْنِby the permissionرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordإِلَىٰtoصِرَٰطِthe Pathٱلْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyٱلْحَمِيدِthe Praiseworthy1
ٱللَّهِAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the Oneلَهُۥto Him (belongs)مَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَمَاand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَوَيْلٌAnd woeلِّلْكَٰفِرِينَto the disbelieversمِنْfromعَذَابٍthe punishmentشَدِيدٍsevere2
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيَسْتَحِبُّونَlove moreٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldعَلَىthanٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe Hereafterوَيَصُدُّونَand hinderعَنfromسَبِيلِ(the) Pathٱللَّهِ(of) Allahوَيَبْغُونَهَاand seek in itعِوَجًاcrookednessأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthoseفِى[in]ضَلَٰلٍۢ(are) far astrayبَعِيدٍ(are) far astray3
وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاexceptبِلِسَانِwith the languageقَوْمِهِۦ(of) his peopleلِيُبَيِّنَso that he might make clearلَهُمْfor themفَيُضِلُّThen Allah lets go astrayٱللَّهُThen Allah lets go astrayمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَيَهْدِىand guidesمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsوَهُوَAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise4
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمُوسَىٰMusaبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآwith Our SignsأَنْthatأَخْرِجْBring outقَوْمَكَyour peopleمِنَfromٱلظُّلُمَٰتِthe darkness[es]إِلَىtoٱلنُّورِthe lightوَذَكِّرْهُمAnd remind themبِأَيَّىٰمِof the daysٱللَّهِ(of) AllahإِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَءَايَٰتٍsurely (are) the signsلِّكُلِّfor everyoneصَبَّارٍpatientشَكُورٍand thankful5
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidمُوسَىٰMusaلِقَوْمِهِto his peopleٱذْكُرُوا۟Rememberنِعْمَةَ(the) Favor of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) Favor of Allahعَلَيْكُمْupon youإِذْwhenأَنجَىٰكُمHe saved youمِّنْfromءَالِ(the) peopleفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunيَسُومُونَكُمْthey were afflicting youسُوٓءَ(with) evilٱلْعَذَابِtormentوَيُذَبِّحُونَand were slaughteringأَبْنَآءَكُمْyour sonsوَيَسْتَحْيُونَand letting liveنِسَآءَكُمْyour womenوَفِىAnd inذَٰلِكُمthatبَلَآءٌ(was) a trialمِّنfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordعَظِيمٌgreat6
وَإِذْAnd whenتَأَذَّنَproclaimedرَبُّكُمْyour LordلَئِنIfشَكَرْتُمْyou are thankfulلَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْsurely I will increase youوَلَئِنbut ifكَفَرْتُمْyou are ungratefulإِنَّindeedعَذَابِىMy punishmentلَشَدِيدٌ(is) surely severe7
وَقَالَAnd saidمُوسَىٰٓMusaإِنIfتَكْفُرُوٓا۟you disbelieveأَنتُمْyouوَمَنand whoeverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthجَمِيعًاallفَإِنَّthen indeedٱللَّهَAllahلَغَنِىٌّcertainly (is) Free of needحَمِيدٌPraiseworthy8
أَلَمْHas notيَأْتِكُمْcome to youنَبَؤُا۟(the) newsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoمِن(were) before youقَبْلِكُمْ(were) before youقَوْمِthe peopleنُوحٍof Nuhوَعَادٍand Aadوَثَمُودَand Thamudوَٱلَّذِينَand those whoمِنۢ(were) after themبَعْدِهِمْ(were) after themلَاNoneيَعْلَمُهُمْknows themإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهُAllahجَآءَتْهُمْCame to themرُسُلُهُمtheir Messengersبِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِwith clear proofsفَرَدُّوٓا۟but they returnedأَيْدِيَهُمْtheir handsفِىٓinأَفْوَٰهِهِمْtheir mouthsوَقَالُوٓا۟and they saidإِنَّاIndeed weكَفَرْنَا[we] disbelieveبِمَآin whatأُرْسِلْتُمyou have been sentبِهِۦwith [it]وَإِنَّاand indeed, weلَفِى(are) surely inشَكٍّdoubtمِّمَّاabout whatتَدْعُونَنَآyou invite usإِلَيْهِto itمُرِيبٍsuspicious9
قَالَتْSaidرُسُلُهُمْtheir MessengersأَفِىCan (there) be aboutٱللَّهِAllahشَكٌّany doubtفَاطِرِ(the) Creatorٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthيَدْعُوكُمْHe invites youلِيَغْفِرَso that He may forgiveلَكُمfor youمِّن[of]ذُنُوبِكُمْyour sinsوَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْand give you respiteإِلَىٰٓforأَجَلٍa termمُّسَمًّىappointedقَالُوٓا۟They saidإِنْNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) butبَشَرٌa humanمِّثْلُنَاlike usتُرِيدُونَyou wishأَنtoتَصُدُّونَاhinder usعَمَّاfrom whatكَانَused toيَعْبُدُworshipءَابَآؤُنَاour forefathersفَأْتُونَاSo bring usبِسُلْطَٰنٍan authorityمُّبِينٍclear10
قَالَتْSaidلَهُمْto themرُسُلُهُمْtheir MessengersإِنNotنَّحْنُwe (are)إِلَّاbutبَشَرٌa humanمِّثْلُكُمْlike youوَلَٰكِنَّbutٱللَّهَAllahيَمُنُّbestows His GraceعَلَىٰonمَنwhomيَشَآءُHe willsمِنْofعِبَادِهِۦHis slavesوَمَاAnd notكَانَisلَنَآfor usأَنthatنَّأْتِيَكُمwe bring youبِسُلْطَٰنٍan authorityإِلَّاexceptبِإِذْنِby the permission of Allahٱللَّهِby the permission of AllahوَعَلَىAnd uponٱللَّهِAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِso let put (their) trustٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believers11
وَمَاAnd whatلَنَآ(is) for usأَلَّاthat notنَتَوَكَّلَwe put our trustعَلَىuponٱللَّهِAllahوَقَدْwhile certainlyهَدَىٰنَاHe has guided usسُبُلَنَاto our waysوَلَنَصْبِرَنَّAnd surely we will bear with patienceعَلَىٰonمَآwhatءَاذَيْتُمُونَاharm you may cause usوَعَلَىAnd uponٱللَّهِAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِso let put (their) trustٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَthe ones who put (their) trust12
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedلِرُسُلِهِمْto their MessengersلَنُخْرِجَنَّكُمSurely we will drive you outمِّنْofأَرْضِنَآour landأَوْorلَتَعُودُنَّsurely you should returnفِىtoمِلَّتِنَاour religionفَأَوْحَىٰٓSo inspiredإِلَيْهِمْto themرَبُّهُمْtheir LordلَنُهْلِكَنَّWe will surely destroyٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers13
وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُAnd surely We will make you dwellٱلْأَرْضَ(in) the landمِنۢafter themبَعْدِهِمْafter themذَٰلِكَThatلِمَنْ(is) for whoeverخَافَfearsمَقَامِىstanding before Meوَخَافَand fearsوَعِيدِMy Threat14
وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟And they sought victoryوَخَابَand disappointedكُلُّeveryجَبَّارٍtyrantعَنِيدٍobstinate15
مِّنof himوَرَآئِهِۦAheadجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellوَيُسْقَىٰand he will be made to drinkمِنofمَّآءٍwaterصَدِيدٍpurulent16
يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥHe will sip itوَلَاbut notيَكَادُhe will be nearيُسِيغُهُۥ(to) swallowing itوَيَأْتِيهِAnd will come to himٱلْمَوْتُthe deathمِنfromكُلِّeveryمَكَانٍsideوَمَاbut notهُوَheبِمَيِّتٍwill dieوَمِنAnd ahead of himوَرَآئِهِۦAnd ahead of himعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentغَلِيظٌharsh17
مَّثَلُ(The) exampleٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveبِرَبِّهِمْin their Lordأَعْمَٰلُهُمْtheir deedsكَرَمَادٍ(are) like ashesٱشْتَدَّتْblows furiouslyبِهِon itٱلرِّيحُthe windفِىinيَوْمٍa dayعَاصِفٍstormyلَّاNoيَقْدِرُونَcontrol (they have)مِمَّاof whatكَسَبُوا۟they have earnedعَلَىٰonشَىْءٍanythingذَٰلِكَThatهُوَ[it]ٱلضَّلَٰلُ(is) the strayingٱلْبَعِيدُfar18
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthبِٱلْحَقِّin truthإِنIfيَشَأْHe willsيُذْهِبْكُمْHe can remove youوَيَأْتِand bringبِخَلْقٍa creationجَدِيدٍnew19
وَبَرَزُوا۟And they will come forthلِلَّهِbefore Allahجَمِيعًاall togetherفَقَالَthen will sayٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟the weakلِلَّذِينَto those whoٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟were arrogantإِنَّاIndeed weكُنَّاwe wereلَكُمْyourتَبَعًاfollowersفَهَلْso canأَنتُمyou (be)مُّغْنُونَthe one who availsعَنَّاusمِنْfromعَذَابِ(the) punishmentٱللَّهِ(of) Allahمِنanythingشَىْءٍanythingقَالُوا۟They will sayلَوْIfهَدَىٰنَاAllah had guided usٱللَّهُAllah had guided usلَهَدَيْنَٰكُمْsurely we would have guided youسَوَآءٌ(It is) sameعَلَيْنَآfor usأَجَزِعْنَآwhether we show intoleranceأَمْorصَبَرْنَاwe are patientمَاnotلَنَا(is) for usمِنanyمَّحِيصٍplace of escape21
وَقَالَAnd will sayٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe Shaitaanلَمَّاwhenقُضِىَhas been decidedٱلْأَمْرُthe matterإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahوَعَدَكُمْpromised youوَعْدَa promiseٱلْحَقِّ(of) truthوَوَعَدتُّكُمْAnd I promised youفَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْbut I betrayed youوَمَاBut notكَانَI hadلِىَI hadعَلَيْكُمover youمِّنanyسُلْطَٰنٍauthorityإِلَّآexceptأَنthatدَعَوْتُكُمْI invited youفَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْand you respondedلِىto meفَلَاSo (do) notتَلُومُونِىblame meوَلُومُوٓا۟but blameأَنفُسَكُمyourselvesمَّآNotأَنَا(can) Iبِمُصْرِخِكُمْ(be) your helperوَمَآand notأَنتُمyou (can)بِمُصْرِخِىَّ(be) my helperإِنِّىIndeed, Iكَفَرْتُdenyبِمَآ[of what]أَشْرَكْتُمُونِyour association of me (with Allah)مِنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeإِنَّIndeedٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersلَهُمْfor themعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful22
وَأُدْخِلَAnd will be admittedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believedوَعَمِلُوا۟and didٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsجَنَّٰتٍ(to) Gardensتَجْرِىflowsمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversخَٰلِدِينَ(will) abide foreverفِيهَاin itبِإِذْنِby the permissionرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordتَحِيَّتُهُمْtheir greetingsفِيهَاthereinسَلَٰمٌ(will be) peace23
أَلَمْDo notتَرَyou seeكَيْفَhowضَرَبَAllah sets forthٱللَّهُAllah sets forthمَثَلًاthe exampleكَلِمَةًa wordطَيِّبَةًgoodكَشَجَرَةٍ(is) like a treeطَيِّبَةٍgoodأَصْلُهَاits rootثَابِتٌ(is) firmوَفَرْعُهَاand its branchesفِى(are) inٱلسَّمَآءِthe sky24
تُؤْتِىٓGivingأُكُلَهَاits fruitكُلَّallحِينٍۢtimeبِإِذْنِby the permissionرَبِّهَاof its LordوَيَضْرِبُAnd Allah sets forthٱللَّهُAnd Allah sets forthٱلْأَمْثَالَthe examplesلِلنَّاسِfor mankindلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَتَذَكَّرُونَremember25
وَمَثَلُAnd (the) exampleكَلِمَةٍ(of) a wordخَبِيثَةٍevilكَشَجَرَةٍ(is) like a treeخَبِيثَةٍevilٱجْتُثَّتْuprootedمِنfromفَوْقِthe surfaceٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earthمَاnotلَهَاfor itمِن(is) anyقَرَارٍstability26
يُثَبِّتُAllah keeps firmٱللَّهُAllah keeps firmٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeبِٱلْقَوْلِwith the firm wordٱلثَّابِتِwith the firm wordفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldوَفِىand inٱلْءَاخِرَةِthe HereafterوَيُضِلُّAnd Allah lets go astrayٱللَّهُAnd Allah lets go astrayٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersوَيَفْعَلُAnd Allah doesٱللَّهُAnd Allah doesمَاwhatيَشَآءُHe wills27
أَلَمْHave notتَرَyou seenإِلَى[to]ٱلَّذِينَthose whoبَدَّلُوا۟(have) changedنِعْمَتَ(the) Favorٱللَّهِ(of) Allahكُفْرًا(for) disbeliefوَأَحَلُّوا۟and they ledقَوْمَهُمْtheir peopleدَارَ(to the) houseٱلْبَوَارِ(of) destruction28
وَجَعَلُوا۟And they set upلِلَّهِto Allahأَندَادًاequalsلِّيُضِلُّوا۟so that they misleadعَنfromسَبِيلِهِۦHis PathقُلْSayتَمَتَّعُوا۟Enjoyفَإِنَّbut indeedمَصِيرَكُمْyour destinationإِلَى(is) toٱلنَّارِthe Fire30
قُلSayلِّعِبَادِىَto My slavesٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeيُقِيمُوا۟(to) establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayersوَيُنفِقُوا۟and (to) spendمِمَّاfrom whatرَزَقْنَٰهُمْWe have provided themسِرًّاsecretlyوَعَلَانِيَةًand publiclyمِّنbeforeقَبْلِbeforeأَن[that]يَأْتِىَcomesيَوْمٌa Dayلَّاnotبَيْعٌany tradeفِيهِin itوَلَاand notخِلَٰلٌany friendship31
ٱللَّهُAllahٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَأَنزَلَand sent downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَأَخْرَجَthen brought forthبِهِۦfrom itمِنَofٱلثَّمَرَٰتِthe fruitsرِزْقًا(as) a provisionلَّكُمْfor youوَسَخَّرَand subjectedلَكُمُfor youٱلْفُلْكَthe shipsلِتَجْرِىَso that they may sailفِىinٱلْبَحْرِthe seaبِأَمْرِهِۦby His commandوَسَخَّرَand subjectedلَكُمُfor youٱلْأَنْهَٰرَthe rivers32
وَسَخَّرَAnd He subjectedلَكُمُfor youٱلشَّمْسَthe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonدَآئِبَيْنِboth constantly pursuing their coursesوَسَخَّرَand subjectedلَكُمُfor youٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the day33
وَءَاتَىٰكُمAnd He gave youمِّنofكُلِّallمَاwhatسَأَلْتُمُوهُyou asked of HimوَإِنAnd ifتَعُدُّوا۟you countنِعْمَتَ(the) Favor of Allahٱللَّهِ(the) Favor of Allahلَاnotتُحْصُوهَآyou will (be able to) count themإِنَّIndeedٱلْإِنسَٰنَthe mankindلَظَلُومٌ(is) surely unjustكَفَّارٌ(and) ungrateful34
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidإِبْرَٰهِيمُIbrahimرَبِّMy LordٱجْعَلْMakeهَٰذَاthisٱلْبَلَدَcityءَامِنًاsafeوَٱجْنُبْنِىand keep me awayوَبَنِىَّand my sonsأَنthatنَّعْبُدَwe worshipٱلْأَصْنَامَthe idols35
رَبِّMy LordإِنَّهُنَّIndeed, theyأَضْلَلْنَhave led astrayكَثِيرًاmanyمِّنَamongٱلنَّاسِthe mankindفَمَنSo whoeverتَبِعَنِىfollows meفَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heمِنِّى(is) of meوَمَنْand whoeverعَصَانِىdisobeys meفَإِنَّكَthen indeed, Youغَفُورٌ(are) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌMost Merciful36
رَّبَّنَآOur LordإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iأَسْكَنتُ[I] have settledمِن(some) ofذُرِّيَّتِىmy offspringsبِوَادٍin a valleyغَيْرِnotذِىwithزَرْعٍcultivationعِندَnearبَيْتِكَYour Sacred HouseٱلْمُحَرَّمِYour Sacred Houseرَبَّنَاour Lordلِيُقِيمُوا۟That they may establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayersفَٱجْعَلْSo makeأَفْـِٔدَةًheartsمِّنَofٱلنَّاسِthe menتَهْوِىٓinclineإِلَيْهِمْtowards themوَٱرْزُقْهُمand provide themمِّنَwithٱلثَّمَرَٰتِthe fruitsلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayيَشْكُرُونَbe grateful37
رَبَّنَآOur LordإِنَّكَIndeed, YouتَعْلَمُYou knowمَاwhatنُخْفِىwe concealوَمَاand whatنُعْلِنُwe proclaimوَمَاAnd notيَخْفَىٰ(is) hiddenعَلَىfromٱللَّهِAllahمِنanyشَىْءٍthingفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَاand notفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven38
ٱلْحَمْدُAll the Praiseلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahٱلَّذِىthe One Whoوَهَبَhas grantedلِىmeعَلَىinٱلْكِبَرِthe old ageإِسْمَٰعِيلَIshmaelوَإِسْحَٰقَand IsaacإِنَّIndeedرَبِّىmy Lordلَسَمِيعُ(is) All-Hearerٱلدُّعَآءِ(of) the prayer39
رَبِّMy LordٱجْعَلْنِىMake meمُقِيمَan establisherٱلصَّلَوٰةِ(of) the prayerوَمِنand fromذُرِّيَّتِىmy offspringsرَبَّنَاOur Lordوَتَقَبَّلْand acceptدُعَآءِmy prayer40
رَبَّنَاOur LordٱغْفِرْForgiveلِىmeوَلِوَٰلِدَىَّand my parentsوَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَand the believersيَوْمَ(on) the Dayيَقُومُwill (be) establishedٱلْحِسَابُthe account41
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَحْسَبَنَّthinkٱللَّهَ(that) Allahغَٰفِلًا(is) unawareعَمَّاof whatيَعْمَلُdoٱلظَّٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersإِنَّمَاOnlyيُؤَخِّرُهُمْHe gives them respiteلِيَوْمٍto a Dayتَشْخَصُwill stareفِيهِin itٱلْأَبْصَٰرُthe eyes42
مُهْطِعِينَRacing aheadمُقْنِعِىraised upرُءُوسِهِمْtheir headsلَاnotيَرْتَدُّreturningإِلَيْهِمْtowards themطَرْفُهُمْtheir gazeوَأَفْـِٔدَتُهُمْand their heartsهَوَآءٌ(are) empty43
وَأَنذِرِAnd warnٱلنَّاسَthe mankindيَوْمَ(of) a Dayيَأْتِيهِمُ(when) will come to themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentفَيَقُولُthen will sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُوا۟did wrongرَبَّنَآOur LordأَخِّرْنَآRespite usإِلَىٰٓforأَجَلٍa termقَرِيبٍshortنُّجِبْwe will answerدَعْوَتَكَYour callوَنَتَّبِعِand we will followٱلرُّسُلَthe MessengersأَوَلَمْHad notتَكُونُوٓا۟youأَقْسَمْتُمswornمِّنbeforeقَبْلُbeforeمَاnotلَكُمfor youمِّنanyزَوَالٍend44
وَسَكَنتُمْAnd you dweltفِىinمَسَٰكِنِthe dwellingsٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoظَلَمُوٓا۟wrongedأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesوَتَبَيَّنَand it had become clearلَكُمْto youكَيْفَhowفَعَلْنَاWe dealtبِهِمْwith themوَضَرَبْنَاand We put forthلَكُمُfor youٱلْأَمْثَالَthe examples45
وَقَدْAnd indeedمَكَرُوا۟they plannedمَكْرَهُمْtheir planوَعِندَbut withٱللَّهِAllahمَكْرُهُمْ(was) their planوَإِنeven ifكَانَwasمَكْرُهُمْtheir planلِتَزُولَthat should be movedمِنْهُby itٱلْجِبَالُthe mountains46
فَلَاSo (do) notتَحْسَبَنَّthinkٱللَّهَ(that) Allahمُخْلِفَwill failوَعْدِهِۦ(to) keep His Promiseرُسُلَهُۥٓ(to) His MessengersإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahعَزِيزٌ(is) All-MightyذُوOwner (of) RetributionٱنتِقَامٍOwner (of) Retribution47
يَوْمَ(On the) Dayتُبَدَّلُwill be changedٱلْأَرْضُthe earthغَيْرَ(to) other (than)ٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُand the heavensوَبَرَزُوا۟and they will come forthلِلَّهِbefore Allahٱلْوَٰحِدِthe Oneٱلْقَهَّارِthe Irresistible48
وَتَرَىAnd you will seeٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsيَوْمَئِذٍ(on) that Dayمُّقَرَّنِينَbound togetherفِىinٱلْأَصْفَادِthe chains49
سَرَابِيلُهُمTheir garmentsمِّنofقَطِرَانٍtarوَتَغْشَىٰand will coverوُجُوهَهُمُtheir facesٱلنَّارُthe Fire50
لِيَجْزِىَSo that Allah may recompenseٱللَّهُSo that Allah may recompenseكُلَّeachنَفْسٍsoulمَّا(for) whatكَسَبَتْit earnedإِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahسَرِيعُ(is) Swiftٱلْحِسَابِ(in) the reckoning51
هَٰذَاThisبَلَٰغٌ(is) a Messageلِّلنَّاسِfor the mankindوَلِيُنذَرُوا۟that they may be warnedبِهِۦwith itوَلِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟and that they may knowأَنَّمَاthat onlyهُوَHeإِلَٰهٌ(is) One Godوَٰحِدٌ(is) One Godوَلِيَذَّكَّرَand that may take heedأُو۟لُوا۟menٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ(of) understanding52
